<Sara> <Chelsea> A normal spider is just as deadly, if anything. And as likely to give you spider powers, whatever that means.

<DeathStar> <Zayne> Since I left EarthGov to have my Sunny taught in magic, the Magi school says she should be taught here in the children's school first. I am curious why is she not being taught full magic.

<DeathStar> <Zayne> *to Jaime* Study and theory. And what does other courses like math and science and needing to know about other nations have to do with magic?
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Math is an important subject for a great number of things, science can be used to bolster magic quite effectively, and... knowing other nations is good in general."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "A well rounded education is essential to eprsonal growth."
<Sara> * Sunny shifts awkwardly as people talk about magic stuff
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Not to mention, there's a lot of synergy and connectedness to many subjects."
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "Well... there's definitely a desire for people to be well rounded. But as for "kid magic"... control, discipline and wisdom are an important foundation. If you haven't learned that, then power is less effective... or even reckless."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "I have made many advacnes in arcana through scientific study of mana."
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I've combined magic and science to boost my healing ability beyond what I can do with either alone."
<Seraphna> **Jaime muses** Math is also very useful in astrogarion and every day life outside of Geyze.
<DeathStar> <Zayne> Very well. If this the speed in which it is done, then it is the speed it is done. When I heard a Magi School, I assumed it was magic only
<DeathStar> <Selena> I believe the Magic School teaches advance magic in tandem with this school
<Sara> <Chelsea> There sure are a lot of places to learn magic nowadays, huh

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "It's a good skill. I know I would've studied it earlier if I had the opportunity."
<DeathStar> <Selena> I am curious, what is the difference between normal magic and Maka magic?
<Sara> <Chelsea> Is it celshading?
<DeathStar> <Selena> What abilities I have all come from spirit attacks
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Well, there seems to be an inherent nature to Maka magic, that is... it manifests differently for every user."
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "The difference? Well... maka magic is more like spirit powers really."
<DeathStar> <Selena> Interesting. Aska's spirit energy leans in toward the magic realm - light magic - but it's still technically spirit magic.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Admittedly... I haven't really done a study of maka magic."
<DeathStar> <Zayne> *seems to keep quiet*
<DeathStar> *probably knowing quite a bit, turning her head toward something that none of them can see*

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I'm wondering how much overlap there is between Maka magic, spirit powers, normal magic and... spiritual abilities that aren't considered magic."

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh... I was more engaged with the speculation of the nature of maka magic..."
<Seraphna> Terra> Maybe Sunny grow up to be gardener!
<DeathStar> *As the group talks, those with high magical abilities and the Maka suddenly feel a pulse that unsteadies them for a brief moment. Zayne even seems to kneel for a second. A few seconds later Sabrina, who was play flying in the sky crashes*
<Alicia> * Sparkling visibly winces
<Seraphna> Jaime> What the...

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Ah?"
<MobileAri> * Nicolette falters, pulling her cane out of thin air to steady herself.
<Seraphna> Jaime> Sabrina? What happened?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhhhh?"
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It felt like something punched me hard.
<DeathStar> *She stands up*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Question...can you still use your magic?"
<Seraphna> **Jaime peers around, frowning** Seems to have affected those who draw on mana?
<DeathStar> *Sabrina forms her sword* I seem to be able to
<Sara> * Chelsea and even Sunny look worried for Sabrina
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Some sort of mana fluctuation, then?" *practices low level light spells to see how much they've been affected*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *runs for her lab to analyze the event*
<DeathStar> *everything seems to be in order, when another pulse radiates, this time enough to knock over magic users and Maka. Sabrina once again stumbles onto her back*
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Who's doing this? Stop it!"
<DeathStar> *Sparkling's words seems to work; no more pulses occur*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *pulls ehrself up to her lab table and checks her instruments to see if they got any data*
<Seraphna> **Jaime frowns** What direction is this coming from?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> *is pressed against the wall in the lab* Hi
<Seraphna> Talia> Icky....
<DeathStar> <Selena> I'd risk flying up but we might get pulsed
<DeathStar> *Zayne presses herself to her feet and checks on Sunny; so far the spirits seem okay, but Cloe looks unbalanced*
<Seraphna> Jaime> I have a feelikng I should be teleporting us to the Magi Tower.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...did you feel anything just now?" *checks her readouts*
<DeathStar> *Lana gets a partial read-out on the epi-center*
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Should you? If another pulse happens, that'd be dangerous."
<Jackieness> <Bella> *helps get Cloe to the Asarar team pyramid on campus*
<Seraphna> Jaime> My teleportation has nothing to do with magic.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh!" *checks on the likely epicenter*
<DeathStar> *it seems to be the Magi Tower, or close by*
<Seraphna> Terra> I feel fines too. Not seem be a spirit thingy.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "...Magi Tower alright... Gwen tell the others."
<DeathStar> *Gwen hurries out and informs them* The Magi are uprising with pulses!
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "You know, we probably should check up on the Magi, they... oh."

<Seraphna> **Jaime sighs and moves to teleport people over**

<Seraphna> Jaime> The artifact. Everything has a price.
<Jackieness> <Lana> *steps outside* "Ahhh.. I'm alright. Just feelign light-headed... but I got the epicenter or clsoe to it, anyway."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina and Selena join them; Cypher motions for Cloé to stay there. Zayne takes Sunny's hand* I'm going to take Sunny somewhere safe
<Alicia> * Sparkling is likewise investigating
<Seraphna> Jaime> Sounds good Zayne, be well.
<Seraphna> **Jaime teleports them to the Magi Tower once everyone who wants to go is assembled**
<DeathStar> *They arrive the massive school complex with the tower in the center making it the centerpiece; the school is smoking now from the center area from some sort of damage and magi are laying about in the snow, still being cold in this part of Geyze*
<Sara> <Chelsea> Well... This seems... bad
<DeathStar> <Cypher> *checks the pulses of some of the Magi* ... barely alive, mainly from the cold
<Sara> <Chelsea> I don't think the odds of them freezing to death by accident is very high considering everything.
<DeathStar> *the area seems to begin to charge up, indicating a pulse is coming*
<Sara> <Chelsea> Something clearly happened here too.
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "...should we have done more to stop this?"
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "AAAH INCOMING!"
<DeathStar> <Selena> *goes into spirit form*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> We're dooomed
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...!"
<DeathStar> *The pulse hits them like a truck*
<DeathStar> *Sabrina is sent flying*
<Sara> <Chelsea> ??? *falls over*
<Seraphna> Jaime> **glows and pulls up a wall to block at the last moment**
<Jackieness> <Lana> *is flung into the air*
<MobileAri> * Nicolette tumbles backwards, buffeted by the pulse
<Alicia> * Ceilidh goes flying
<DeathStar> *Jaime's block is only partially successful. The group feels like they're numb*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Ow.
<DeathStar> *the Maka tries to float up*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *flops on to the snow*
<Seraphna> Jaime> You can say that again. We'd better figure out what it is and how to stop it before there's a fourth.
<DeathStar> *Gwen is buried in snow*
<Seraphna> **Talia mewls, but pulls Gwen free**
<DeathStar> *Selena helps Nicolette up as best she can*
<DeathStar> *Cypher goes to get Chelsea*
<Seraphna> **At that point Alita shows up, both due to her familiar feeling it here and the amount of pulses**
<DeathStar> <Cypher> I'm glad I'm not a mage
<Seraphna> Alita> I'm glad I'm no longer a full mage. **She grunts and peer over the tower** I take it the artifact broke.
<Jackieness> <Lana> *just lays there*
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "This place is dangerous right now. I'm not sure some of us should be here..."
<Seraphna> **Alita channels spirit energy to replicate her normal healing, helping people get up**
<DeathStar> <Selena> I'm beginning to wonder a lot of things
<Seraphna> Jaime> If I brought back all the mages it'd be me and Selena left.
<Sara> <Chelsea> What's... going on...
<Seraphna> Jaime> Well, Cypher too. You have gone local huh?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Can the magic users sense where the pulses are coming from?
<Seraphna> **Alita feels out**

<Alicia> <Sparkling> *digging herself out of the snow* "So, who *should* be here?"
<Jackieness> <Lana> *is finally able to get up, sporting a nosebleed, coughing* "Ugggggh..." *takes a breath* "...check the center poitn of the crater..."
<Seraphna> Jaime> Which looks to be around where they were keeping it. **she frowns and moves forward**
<DeathStar> *the group, after some investigation, would notice the tower is cracked and some smoke coming out of it; it's near where Linnet placed the relic*
<Seraphna> Jaime> Called it.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...I agree with Jaime...something about that was..."
<DeathStar> *Selena lands near the tower with Nicolette*
<DeathStar> <Selena> Let me see if I can get into the crack
<Seraphna> Jaime> We may need to contain it till it can be repaired... Mana obviously isn't going to help.
<DeathStar> *She begins to try to shimmy inside the tower*
<Sara> <Chelsea> Great...
<MobileAri> * Nicolette frowns, and against her better judgement, attempts to follow after Selena is free

<Seraphna> **Talia kitties inside with them**

<DeathStar> *reaching the relic room and finds the relic seems ... different. It seems to be the same relic, but the color, shape, and design are all different than last time*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> ?
<DeathStar> <Selena> Is it the same one Kito gave?
<Seraphna> Jaime> Perhaps it's evolved due to prolonged use.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...? Strange..." *tries forming her arcane constructs to scan it*
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "Or someone altered it..." She investigates the relic, looking to figure out how to turn it off.
<Seraphna> **Alita muses, and starts forming something around it**
<DeathStar> *the relic seems to be sending out pulses that are going out beyond Geyze*
<Alicia> * Ceilidh looks over the relic, likewise trying to find out how to switch it off
<Seraphna> Jaime> The question is is this strange drain on Mana users a purpose or side effect...
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...its pulses are not confined to Geyze. PErhaps its signaling something?"
<Seraphna> Jaime> It was amplifying Magic, did it actually amplify or simply lend power it's now collecting tax on?
<DeathStar> *it begins to gear up for another pulse* <Sabrina> We're running out of time
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "It was linked to a spirit. Which one?"
<Jackieness> <Lana> *starts weaving, trying to see if she cna bleed off the excess mana from the relic*
<Seraphna> Jaime> Death perhaps?
<Seraphna> **Alita forms a Void Cage around it, hoping to absorb the pulse into nothingness**
<Seraphna> **Jaime forms a barrier for others to hide behind**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...that would make sense..."
<DeathStar> *while Alita does that...*
<Alicia> * Sparkling... braces.
<MobileAri> * Nicolette braces herself
<DeathStar> *those studying it would note that it's only weakness seems to be to destroy it, or attempt to do so, but it could cause a massive backlash, The rune seems to be designed to send out a powerful signal and one can only interrupt the signal*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "We cna interrupt it, I think."
<Seraphna> Alita> I could call on Void to erase it, though that could be quite taxing.
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Lets interrupt it."
<DeathStar> *the relic clicks, indicating the pulse is coming*
<Seraphna> Jaime> This seems to have way too much intent behind it to be an accident...
<Jackieness> <Lana> *tries to interrupt the pulse*
<Alicia> * Ceilidh does the same
<Seraphna> **Jaime gathers others behind her barrier, while Alita makes a sort of Void Faraday Cage around it, the others can touch it but the intent is to absorb a signal**
<DeathStar> *nothing seems to happen for a moment, then the tower begins to break apart*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhhh?!"
<DeathStar> *shattering beneath their feet and dropping them into the tunnels as the top of it comes falling down at them*
<Seraphna> **Jaime holds up her hands, glowing green as she controls the rocks falling to go around them**
<DeathStar> *Gwen tucks an rolls as Jaime gets a good number, but many still keep going down, including the weapon up top*
<MobileAri> * Nicolette casts an earth spell to form a dome to keep the earth from falling in and crushing them all
<DeathStar> *Nicolette picks up the rest*
<DeathStar> *Selena lets out a breath*
<Seraphna> **Alita lands roughly and then hits her staff on the ground, forming a spirit barrier around them**
<Seraphna> Talia> Ooof. Relic need spanking.
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> ... *eyes the magi bodies all around them
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Where IS the relic?
<Alicia> * Sparkling looks towards where the relic was, at least
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...backlash..." *coughs*
<DeathStar> *with the tower totally in ruins around them in the tunnel, it's hard to tell where it's at. Hopefully somewhere in the mess they made.*
<Seraphna> Alita> It should be easy to sense it if it is still building power. If not, we have time to look.
<Seraphna> Alita> And if not... start finding those magi that are still alive. We will need to begin healing them.
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> *let's out a sigh of relief* "Well.. at least we're not all puddles. There's that?"
<DeathStar> <Voice Above> Hello? Are you okay? *it seems to be coming from the school building up top*

<DeathStar> <Voice> Linnet. .. what happened? ... Wait a moment. *a few moments later, Linnet is in the tunnels through a magic spell, eyeing the tower* <Linnet> Oh, I'm the first magic leader to have the tower wrecked under her stewardship...

<Seraphna> Jaime> THe relic was sending out a pulse or signal... we managed to stop the big finale it seems.
<Seraphna> Jaime> Better a wrecked tower than more dead Magi.
<DeathStar> <Linnet> ... *Seems to be thinking* Pulse. Signal. That's odd. I vaguely recall something.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...wh...what?"
<Sara> * Chelsea flops against Cypher
<Seraphna> Jaime> Well it was wrecking havoc with Mana attunded people.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...and...blew up the Spire..."
<DeathStar> <Linnet> Before I blacked, there was a group of red robed people in the tower. I went to confront them. I think they were magi, because one lifted their hand and after that, I blacked out.
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "They sound like bad guys!"
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Magi that did something to other magi?
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Wouldn't they pass out from the pulse, too?
<Seraphna> Jaime> Unless they were prepared for it.
<Seraphna> Jaime> It's a signal, stands to reason if you know the frequency you can shield it.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "..weren't there rogue Magi that the Academy teams had to fight?"
<Seraphna> Alita> Yes. I thought we'd gotten them all.
