<DeathStar> *at the Academy, students have wrapped up the final projects and are either returning home or remaining on the campus as decorations are being put up to celebrate the festives for the spirits, as snow is coming down even at this part of the planet*
<DeathStar> *Gwen rubs his gloves, standing beside a Gnome and Terra snowman*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> So.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> What are we going to do this year for vacation. *he eyes Talia*
<Seraphna> Talia> Beach? I have to continue my war with the Crabs!
<DeathStar> <Gwen> ... Hm. I suppose we could try to drag Lana to a beach
<Seraphna> Talia> Her pillows need air and sun.
<DeathStar> *he watches Vyvy gather the spirits, clearly trying to round them up for some sort of family something at the bar; Tenebrae and Nocturne being dragged along*

<DeathStar> *Lumi walks over to the two* Since you two don't look like you're doing anything and the school is busy right now with students leaving, I have a minor assignment for you
<Seraphna> **The device vanishes, Qui is sent messages about how Aurora is cool and should be a secondary spirit for the Amazonians**
<DeathStar> *she hands Gwen some papers, which he glances at while Qui's staff looks confused*
<Seraphna> **Nox and Kaelan slip into the party while Terra showing up too, likely with a Gnome**
<DeathStar> <Lumi> The Mages are receiving reports about some magical interference up north. Since their own students are also in flux right now, being tied to our own, they were wondering if we could spare some our people to look around and locate the source of it so they could send their mages.
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Apparently whatever it is messing with their school, it's not easy to pin point
<Seraphna> Talia> Someone always being naughty with magic lately.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Wonder if it's tied to that stuff with the castle
<Seraphna> Talia> We have magic supervillain!
<DeathStar> <Gwen> ... Oh yeah, I can't tell Lana. Oh well.
<Seraphna> Talia> I can. **she sends Lana a message about a magical mystery mission from Lumi**
<Seraphna> **Talia uses a Lumi sticker that wags her tail**
<Jackieness> <Lana> *after a pause, Lana responds that she'll be there*

<Seraphna> **Threna appears by Lumi with cocoa**
<DeathStar> *Vyvy is giving out home made food by herself and drinks from Luci*
<Seraphna> **Terra shares a pile of fresh summer fruits to be fancy in the winter**
<DeathStar> *Lumi just takes the drink while they wait* I guess you'll need a ride up there?

<Seraphna> Talia> Seems so, want me to contact Momma? She's seeing to stuff in the Legion. And Sister Amber is at the Tower I think.
<Jackieness> <Lana> *is seen approaching, all bundled up for cold weather*
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Do they have a faster method of transportation on hand?
<Seraphna> Talia> Spirit teleports. Or me, if I'm sent to Amber.

<DeathStar> *she walks off with Threna and Gwen turns to Lana, nodding*

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Where are we going?"
<Seraphna> **Talia muses, then vanishes, after a short time reappearing with Alita, Aurora pops out of the snow**
<Seraphna> Aurora> Where we goin?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> We're going to meet with the Magi Tower to help them locate some magical interference near their tower they can't pinpoint
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Hopefully they'll give us some guide or something
<Seraphna> Aurora> Oh okay! I'll take you all. That's closer to Momma's realm.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh.. that is right up my alley."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> You like it up there?
<Seraphna> **Aurora nods** Nice and cold! It's also why I like Momma Jen's Spaceship. **She smiles and starts to teleport the group**
<DeathStar> *The team appears in front of the massive Magi School, with the large tower in the middle of it*
<DeathStar> *some students stand out in front of it, waiting for them as massive amounts of wind and snow blow about*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "I don't like when its too cold..."
<Seraphna> Aurora> Oooo, nice weather today!
<DeathStar> <Student A> Please, come in. *they hold open the front door. Gwen ahs already vanished*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *heads inside*
<Seraphna> *Talia and Alita follow, Aurora sliding about around them all and inside**
<DeathStar> *the other student drags Gwen from a snow pile inside*
<DeathStar> *the students lead them along the busy halls as students are packing to get home, working their way toward the tower*
<Seraphna> Aurora> This place sure is big. And nice and drafty too!
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Drafty is not a perk!"
<Seraphna> **Aurora gasps** Wh-What?
<DeathStar> <Student A> We're constantly adding onto it as more people are getting interested in magic and help with the more advanced courses for Academy students. *as they step into the Tower they work up to the tower where they find Delgi at, flipping her way through tomes looking up descendants related to Linnet's family tree, trying to find where if there is anyone else who might have inherited the hero power, or if it would jump to a rando now that she's dead and none might exist*

<DeathStar> <Delgi> Hello. Sorry for calling you all here. *She looks up* This is something we should be doing but the school is busy right now with the semester wrapping up
<Seraphna> Alita> Indeed, we were in the same scenario.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "There is some sort of magical disturbance?"
<Seraphna> Talia> Got Momma from her Legion Queening up the place!
<DeathStar> *Gwen moves over to a heater for visitors*
<DeathStar> <Delgi> You might not notice it as much in the tower, but if you walk around the school proper and the village, magic barriers, magic usage, magic spells, even magic lighting has been flickering on and off for the past few days, and growing worse with more downtime. We've used our spells to try to trace it and believe it is something eating the magic, but even with a "Hole" we cannot find the disturbance without a few mages ready to devote their time and effort
<DeathStar> <Delgi> It would be easier to do a visual scan of the area where we believe it is occurring and see if we can find something
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh... fortunately, I am an expert in arcane mechanics."
<Seraphna> Alita> It does reminisce about our last case involving a Mana Drain.
<DeathStar> *Gwen thinks*
<DeathStar> *Delgi nods* Alright, here is where we think it is likely to be lurking, but some of us believe they're moving
<DeathStar> *she marks the general area - north of the castle and village, doing a spread line of a mile, left to right above them*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "We should hurry then."
<DeathStar> *Gwen adjusts his large coat and heads down the tower*
<DeathStar> <Delgi> I'll try to monitor you from here
<Jackieness> <Lana> *nods and heads out*
<DeathStar> *The rough wind and cold hit them immediately, snow piling on Gwen's face*
<Seraphna> **Aurora blinks** How do you attract snow like that? Are you Ice Element?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...it may be a probability aura."
<Seraphna> Talia> I hide behind him so no snow gets me.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Rgagh
<DeathStar> *Gwen slowly stomps northward*
<DeathStar> *Somehow, as they walk through the village, kids and adults are out in the village proper, doing daily activities as if this was normal weather*
<DeathStar> *But one can see where magic barriers are flickering*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "See that? I'd like to examine a barrier up close."
<Seraphna> Aurora> Aurora will observe from either side of the shield. Prefer not to get too close to live mana.
<Seraphna> Alita> Mmm, nor would we want to incur the wrath of the twins if Aurora is harmed. Shiva is an especially protective Auntie.
<DeathStar> *Gwen walks over with Lana*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *tries to observe the pattern of the flickering*
<DeathStar> *it appears the magic barrier has been set up around the village's edge to surround it and the tower to prevent raids as best it can, but it's clearly weakening, based on how much it's flickering right now*
<DeathStar> *it also keeps monsters out*
<DeathStar> *the guard near where the village controls to turn on and off is at his post, a mage of sorts*
<Seraphna> Alita> Mmm, something is definitely draining or straining it, and I don't imagine the weather would do it.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "LEt's see..." *tries weaving some of the ambient mana near the barrier to try to create a visible trail*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I would think it would help the storm usually. Who knows with this place
<DeathStar> *something of a trail appears, going northward past the barrier*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "That way!"
<Seraphna> **Aurora appears on the other side of the barrier, waving to them**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "LEt us through."
<Seraphna> Talia> **hops on Gwen's head as a cat** Forward my Snow Steed!
<DeathStar> *The guard has the barrier drop*
<DeathStar> *causing more snow to attack Gwen*

<Seraphna> Aurora> How come more DON'T? This place is great!
<DeathStar> *the trace has the group moving along through trees and snow drifts, moving upward along the mountain, rocky cliffheads up above, the trail going straight up them*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> ... No way we can climb that in this weather. Anyone can fly?
<Seraphna> **Aurora flies about** Like this?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Using magic this close to the drain is not a good idea."
<Seraphna> **Aurora muses** Everyone gather together!
<DeathStar> *Gwen eyes Aurora* You going to be okay? *He does so*
<Seraphna> Aurora> It doesn't seem to be draining me, just Mana!
<Seraphna> **Aurora walks around them and then forms ice in the snow under them, creating a platform**
<Seraphna> Talia> Talia more worried about herself. I'm made of mana!
<Seraphna> Alita> I will keep you fed dear one.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... spirit energy is unaffected."
<DeathStar> *As they fly upward, they reach the top and find --- the trail Lana made is gone*
<Seraphna> **Aurora threw them up there on the platform, mind you. Then floated them down. She peers around** They vanished! Or were not here.
<DeathStar> *Gwen tries to find tracks, but with the snow it makes it hard*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Noooo... it took us too long to get to the top..."
<DeathStar> *something rises from the ground, like a beast, long glowing white and blue hair, before suddenly, the mana in the area goes wild and is drained as it redirects the snow and flings them from the cliffhead with it*

<DeathStar> *Selena muses at the Academy beside Lumi* So they went off a few hours ago?
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Delgi reports they made contact but something happened up north. A magical disturbance - she went some students to look for them
<DeathStar> *Selena muses while Lumi turns to Threna*
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Can you go ahead and meet with Delgi for me? See what you can learn?
<Seraphna> Threna> Mmm, my mother hasn't sent wild messages asking about Aurora so I assume she at least is fine. But yes I will go see what I can find.
<Seraphna> **Threna kisses her cheek and vanishes, teleporting to the tower**
<DeathStar> <Selena> I will see about getting in contact with someone from Asarar's group as well. They are usually good at finding people.

<DeathStar> *Asarar stands in the center of the village, checking her watch as the sun begins to go down*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Well. This is just great
<DeathStar> *she shoves her hands into her coat pockets*

<DeathStar> *she has come out in a massive coat, that makes it hard to move in*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "...man, its cold."
<Seraphna> Threna> Mmm, perhaps we should summon one of the older Ice Spirits to help. **is dressed up in nice warm santa style clothes**
<DeathStar> <Delgi> We could do that, I suppose. When we lose the light, it will become colder and the monsters will come out
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Colder than it already is? I find that hard to believe.
<Seraphna> Threna> I will conduct my super summoning power. **she... calls Jennifer**
<Seraphna> **Jennifer pops in with Celsius a moment later**
<DeathStar> *Asarar looks at Cloé* You're one of the few people on the team with any magic, so we'll be needing you to help locate them and this magic eater.
<DeathStar> *Celsius stays behind Jennifer*
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Seems Aurora is late with her group? **Threna worded it nicely**
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Yeah, they're late to dinner bell
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Any sense of her dear? **She reaches around to hug Celsius**
<DeathStar> *Celsius looks around when suddenly mana powered lights begin to turn off - for good. The shield, the housing, people's stuff. So far only the castle has not entirely gone off*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> ... Yeah. That's not good
<Jackieness> <Bella> "We need to take out the soruce fast."
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Are you powering these with a mana object?
<DeathStar> <Delgi> The entire place is based on magic.
<Seraphna> Jennifer> So a leyline?
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Something is draining a leyline?
<DeathStar> <Delgi> I would not say a leyline, no?
<DeathStar> <Delgi> It is like magic tech and magic spells that run this place
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Your world is still a bit strange to me even married to a spirit. **She peers around, frowning**
<DeathStar> <Delgi> But we do have a high amount of mana here
<Seraphna> Threna> If Momma Celcius can find Aurora we will likely find the rest.
<DeathStar> *Celsius seems to be focusing on her, then nods* I have. Touch?
<Seraphna> **Threna and Jen touch**
<Jackieness> <Bella> *shrugs and reaches out to touch*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Delgi. Inform Selena of the situation here. She might want to help out personally
<DeathStar> *Asarar and Cloé touch Celsius while Delgi heads back inside the Tower to do so*
<DeathStar> *Celsius warps them and they appear on what looks to be a massive snow drift, but the area is empty of mana*
<DeathStar> *Celsius looks around*
<DeathStar> *Asarar looks up at a cliff*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "...I don't see anything."
<DeathStar> <Cloé> This place tastes bad.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Do you feel a vibe, Cloe?"
<DeathStar> <Cloé> It feels like this place has been emptied. *Asarar walks around on the snow until she spots what looks to be a hand sticking out of the snow* Over here
<Jackieness> <Bella> *heads over then starts digging*
<DeathStar> *Asarar pulls out Lana*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "We got one!"
<DeathStar> *Cloé begins to dig out a see-throughish Talia, indicating even with Alita, something or someone has nearly drained her mana dry. Cloé strains to hold onto her*
<DeathStar> <Cloé> Got fish loving one
<Seraphna> **Jennifer frowns, she focuses and gives her some of her mana** I don't have much but Thena taught me a little trick for this.
<DeathStar> *Celsius slowly grabs everyone else under the snow but the unlucky Gwen*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We need to get them warm
<Seraphna> Threna> Indeed, I learned it saving Rio.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Hell, she looks nearly dead!"
<Seraphna> Jennifer> This long under the snow, only Aurora will be okay. **She grabs her medical kit and starts treating each of them with her PAX tech**
<Seraphna> Jennifer> I'm guessing Aurora summoned a snow pile for them to fall into.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Wasn't that Gwen guy supposed to be here too?"
<Seraphna> Threna> Gwen is still missing.
<Seraphna> Jennifer> You'll want to find him fast. Before the hypothermia sets in.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Cloe, anything?"
<Seraphna> **Jennifer holds up a hand and breathes, creating a sort of lean to made of crystal and ice to block the snow out from her patients**
<DeathStar> *Cloé's tries to locate, but struggles with no mana in the area, resorting to her sense of smell; soon she rips Gwen out*
<DeathStar> *Celsius helps get Aurora on her feet*
<Seraphna> Jennifer> That one, always more snow on him than the rest. **she injects Gwen with something**
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Cloe got him!"
<Seraphna> Aurora> We fell down a cliff!
<DeathStar> <Asarar> You ... what...tripped?
<Seraphna> Aurora> Something attacked us! It had blue and white hair and made the mana all around all wobbly!
<Seraphna> **Jennifer inspects Alita for a mana crystal**
<DeathStar> *as Jennifer slowly does her medical "magic", Asarar muses* We should try to get them back to the village and make a fire
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Yeah, seems even the mage's mana crystal was drained. The mages at the tower can treat Talia further.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Whatever attacked them must have moved on already."
<DeathStar> <Celsius> I will try to take us back then. *She pulls everyone back, where Selena and her people are waiting; it looks like something is up, as Selena has guards posted at the castle*
<DeathStar> *And part of it looks no magic barrier*
<Seraphna> **Jennifer grabs some students to power Talia and directs the rest to be given warmth and beds**
<Seraphna> Jennifer> I'd send in some shielding units and a generator but if the mana swells back up here they'll fry.
<DeathStar> *Talia would soon be back to normal and up and about*
<Seraphna> Talia> Lemme at her! Bad girl!
<DeathStar> *Selena joins Asarar's group* We have someone draining the castle areas of it's mana fields
<DeathStar> <Selena> Students are complaining about losing stuff
<DeathStar> <Asarar> 'Her'?
<Jackieness> <Bella> "We nearly lost the group sent out to investigate the mana drain."
<Seraphna> **Talia rubs her head** Saw flash of blue and white hair... and mana drain... I think is Bon Bon.

<DeathStar> <Asarar> Why is Bonnie attacking the Magi all of a sudden?
<DeathStar> *Selena muses, then moves to speed up Lana awakening, helping her rouse*

<DeathStar> <Cloé> *looks concerned, peering around as if trying to sense her* I know she hasn't been fully pacted since that incident with that being below latched into her
<Seraphna> Talia> If Talia had to guess, her unstable form has turned her into raging mana drinking beast girl.
<DeathStar> <Cloé> Cloé isn't quite sure how she has lasted all these years.
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Do you think she's acting alone then?"
<DeathStar> <Selena> We might need your expertise. *She helps Lana over to the others*

<DeathStar> <Asarar> So you think this is all about drinking mana - the attack?

<Seraphna> Talia> Well, when Bon Bon was made there was something wrong in the design, without a pact I don't know what can happen to her. Plus there's that evil person we didn't catch last time.

<DeathStar> <Cloé> The link with Momma Chelsea has to be somewhat there, since Momma Bonnie seems to know where she is, but dor some reason I can tell she has kept it "off"

<DeathStar> <Delgi> More student complaints are coming in closer to the Tower itself. The Tower proper should be able to handle a magic drain, but I do not want to test the theory. But, with the number of complaints... I am wondering if someone is in the school
<Jackieness> <Lana> "That is entirely possible."
<Seraphna> Talia> Maybe Bon Bon distraction! Red Bon Bon Herring!
<DeathStar> *Cloé hurries toward the castle*

<DeathStar> *the group enters the castle doors into the school proper. Confused students are complaining about magic projects failing and feeling weak*

<Jackieness> <Lana> "...ahhh... this worked last time..." *tries weaving her drain trace again*
<DeathStar> *The trace goes down the hallway and toward the center of the school*
<DeathStar> *headed toward the tower*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah, feeling a bit exposed without my backup."
<Seraphna> Jennifer> Oh, take mine. **she hands Nicolette a gun**
<DeathStar> *Cloé hurries along, following the trace*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *follows after her trace, as does Bella*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Oh, I meant... well... hopefully I won't need this." She slips the gun under her cape.
<DeathStar> *The trace leads them right up to a cat familiar that looks like Talia, standing next to a teacher, who is giving it all sorts of orders now that his magic is acting odd; the trace does seem to continue on past it through some large double doors*
<Seraphna> Talia> Remember not overwork my little one! She runs on mana too!
<Seraphna> **Talia pats the familiar, then moves on**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "We need to go past them and through there."
<DeathStar> *The teacher adjusts his glasses, eyeing Talia* ... who's familiar was that...?

<DeathStar> *the mana trail seems to go downward now, into the basement*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "This way leads to the familiar ritual chamber." *starts down*

<DeathStar> *As they reach the chamber, the mages guarding it seem to be on the ground, unconscious*

<DeathStar> *the trail here seems to go inside, then split off and go ino the tunnels*

<DeathStar> <Delgi> I know, since it is still being used, but remember, the Magi was destroyed, so we're still using the design. Let me back up some

<DeathStar> <Delgi> They were trying to find ways to improve upon the base design - the white hair powered up form to expand upon it. And I've seen these new purple hair warrior forms, but wih the Legion threatening to destroy the Magi, they felt they needed a new type to be able to destroy their enemies
<DeathStar> <Delgi> So designs into a prototype began - painfully. Experiments on it began even as the Legion was knocking on the door as a way to decimate their enemy and wipe it off the board.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "That's right... we were there just before the LEgion's final siege."

<Jackieness> <Lana> "...so if she is following her original orders... she drains the mana... then walks into the middle of the Legion territory and end them."
<DeathStar> <Selena> But I also find it hard to believe that Bonnie cares about them
<Seraphna> Alita> That being said the Legion border guards will be keeping a sharp eye out. In case it is carrying out its mission.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "That's the thing... this hypothesis is contingent on her persona being overriden by her directives."

<DeathStar> <Asarar> And I likely know the answer already being an experiment myself once
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Could there have been two prototypes? Bonnie and another Familiar? We're fairly certain due to notes taken Bonnie was one

<Seraphna> Alita> As Talia said, she was active during the attack. This could be evidence there was another.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Actually, multiple prototypes are made all the time. ITs all a aprt of the development process."
