<DeathStar> *Mireille directs their shuttle close to where the two familiars are walking, then Cloé lands the shuttle before they can be detected*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Alright, we're going on foot. Sylph?
<DeathStar> *Sylph steps out, providing wind shields around each of them*
<DeathStar> *And lifting them up off the ground*
<DeathStar> <Cypher> So. What's the game plan when we catch up to them? We're dealing with two targets that drained an entire area of it's magic.
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "How did they do that?"
<Jackieness> <Bella> "..with...magic?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> They're prototypes that drain magic and add it to themselves. We're not sure yet if they can do it to spirit energy
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We just know they're weapons of Legion soldiers, so there's something about them we still don't know yet
<Seraphna> Nell> I know Talia can devour mana when she wants to. Seen her do it.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "We need to figure out which one is Bonnie. Between Chelsea and Cloe, we must have a way to snap her out of it."

<DeathStar> *Celes' group, after stopping by Lumi's office to see Sasha to recruit Rain to aid them in locating the noble who bought the familiar, soon arrive in the Dark Lands*

<Seraphna> Alita> Rather lovely this time of year.

<DeathStar> *it looks like some influence from outside worlds can be seen since Shinobu has, since the Alliance has not fully been reformed yet, or at least not in the old way, and she's capitlized on it*
<DeathStar> *trade with the Cartel, the Suisen, even the Tsivrixsh and Erusian products can be seen*
<Seraphna> Alita> As I understand it Shinobu’s business choices have helped solidify her position. Smart.

<Seraphna> Alita> We often have to be underhanded to grow in the Daemon Realm.

<DeathStar> <Lilin> Well, she was always not quite right. Due to her needing constant mana and her violent outbursts at times, we soon assigned her to be a protection maid. A maid who's secondary job was to protect their master. Well, one day Lark there was assigned to mom and defended her a little too well while on a journey

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...what man?"
<DeathStar> <Lilin> Oh, some cutthroat bandit on the edge of Hapian and Legion territory. After that she ran off. Never saw her again - that was a few months ago
<Seraphna> Alita> Mmm… she wasn’t pacted?
<DeathStar> <Lilin> Oh no; we just fed her mana when she got weak.
<DeathStar> *The Lilin finishes her wine*

<Seraphna> Alita> Was she against the idea of pacting? Or did you simply not have anyone trained in Magic?
<DeathStar> *The Lilin pauses before eating her dish* We're all trained in magic, but mother didn't want to pact with the servant. Besides, putting a little mana into the air seemed to do the trick

<Alicia> * Sparkling has been watching the ambient magic energy levels all the time
<DeathStar> *now that the Aquarius has backed off, they've begun to drop again*

<DeathStar> *the group slowly makes their way across and as they near the other side, Cloé gets excited; she and Chelsea would pick up a scent of Bonnie's*

<DeathStar> *as they reach land on the other side, while there isn't much life among the lava plains, one can see the lava itself is looking more drained and other little things is seeming to be weakening*

<Seraphna> Nox> The ambient mana has been drained here.
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Still wonder what set Bonnie and the other one off..."

<Seraphna> Nell> So the other’s name is Lark.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We'll find out. *She follows Chelsea, with Cypher keeping up the best*

<DeathStar> *the group finds themselves walking up a hill, Sylph providing a bit of help with her wind shield; but at the top, Chelsea and Cloé would run into something invisible*

<DeathStar> *The person they bumped into begins to move forward and Cloé swiped to grab them, being pulled along*

<Seraphna> **Nell muses and tosses out a metal wire, trying to wrap it around the invisible one**
<DeathStar> *the person pauses, then after a moment, a familiar appears in a torn, dirty suit, glancing at the wire*
<DeathStar> *her hair has that mix of white and blue*
<Seraphna> **Nell muses** You’ll find there’s no mana or spirit to drain here. Are you Lark?
<DeathStar> *they grab it and begins to use brute strength* You never. Were. The brains of the operation. *She strains, clearly burning something and rips it off, shredding more of her suit* No. *She finally seems to recognize the others, a hand coming to her face, as if hiding it*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "No wonder she didn't notice Cloe... its the other one."
<DeathStar> *Cloé holds onto the familiar* But it's momma's scent
<DeathStar> <Asarar> That is the suit that Bonnie wears. Unless the both wear one

<DeathStar> *Bonnie walks along, looking for the other, then leads them* I was dealng with them. They wanted me to help destroy the Magi

<DeathStar> <Bonnie> I took the books and other stuff to keep it from them, and they decided to go on a rampage afterward.

<Seraphna> Nell> They seem really pissed at their own creators when it’s you who really has a case.

You think doing something the Magi wanted would go against what they were trying to talk me into, but after I struck them off the mountain side, they consume the mana and began tracking their way here. *She keeps refusing to meet gazes* They're a monster like me, so maybe something awoke in them

<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Do you know how they consume the mana? If we know that, we can maybe find a counter..."
<Seraphna> Nell> Also cut out that monster nonsense.
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> Oh I know. How do you think I survived long enough to even meet Chelsea?
<Jackieness> <Bella> "OK, so maybe she defaulted back to her original programming?"

<DeathStar> *Bonnie approaches a lava stream up ahead and touches the ground in front of it; as Sylph increases wind shields, Bonnie begins to plunge her hand into the ground near the lava and begins to focus, causing massive mana drain to occur in a circular radius, spreading out rapidly*
<DeathStar> *All of the mana going into her; if any mana users are caught in it, they'd feel their magic draining quickly*
<DeathStar> *Bonnie then stops*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> That feels almost wasteful.
<Seraphna> Terra> It feels nicer here suddenly. Is that because the mana is gone?
<DeathStar> *Cloé has hidden herself behind Bella*
<DeathStar> *not wanting to get caught in such a drain*
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "That is almost frightening... is it efficient though?"
<DeathStar> *Bonnie rises* I can also do subtle drains, as not to do damage and keep myself alive. I do the latter. As not to draw attention to myself and not to harm the environment. This .. Lark? only wants a quick drain and to cause damage
<Jackieness> <Bella> "I'm not even a magic user and I can feel that in my teeth. Yow."
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> And no, Nicolette, it takes time for mana to restore to Geyze. If you yank it out too fast, it is not efficient. I or this Lark will have a ton of it at our disposal, but it will not be there later.
<Sara> <Chelsea> It's a limited resource, ultimately...
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "So, even more, we have to stop him."
<DeathStar> *The group arrives at the base of the mountain where the capital is located; Bonnie points* They're there. *a shimmering figure can barely be seen*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I'll contact the Aquarius to work they're way here
<Jackieness> <Bella> "...so what is LArk's plan? Self-detonation?"
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> With the amount of mana they have in them, if they know any magic spells, they could do any sorts of high end magic - multiplied

<DeathStar> *Salamander eyes the sky, turning a strange dark cloudy color*

<DeathStar> *Soren appears a few moments later with Celes, Selena, Sasha, Ceilidh, Ellie, etc from the Dark Lands*
<Seraphna> Nox> Mostly to help Aunt Sylph get us through your lava fields.
<DeathStar> *Sparkling would see it's a massive magical thunder storm, brimming with power, aimed directly over the capital on top of the mountain*
<DeathStar> <Sylph> I'm not sure I can shield an entire city.
<DeathStar> *she eyes the storm brewinf*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "Bonnie,c an you drain her enough to stop her spell storm thing?"
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Maybe I can disrupt it..." *tries to, even if it's a longshot*
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> I--- I can try yes. If we can locate her in the city
<DeathStar> *Sparkling slows down the building of the storm, at the very least*

<Seraphna> Alita> They are under orders to detain her alive however I can’t control minds.
<DeathStar> *it seems to be a true lightning storm, but it's mostly powered by the mana, which would technically make it mostly mana powered; the lightning bolts will be enhanced with mana when they strike*
<Jackieness> <Bella> "I'm more worried about what she would do to them."
<Seraphna> Alita> True.
<DeathStar> *Cypher takes Chelsea's hand and heads inside; Bonnie seems unsure what to do for a moment, then follows after Chelsea*

<DeathStar> *Then flies up into the air*
<Sara> <Ellie> *blinks and takes it, watching Sylph fly up*
<DeathStar> *Fae whispers with Terra and hugs her, then follows Sylph*

<Jackieness> <Bella> "The moment we get a ping on her, we need to get Bonnie there as fast as possible."
<DeathStar> *Sylph works on attempting her wind protection shield incase lightning does come down*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "We should split up to cover more ground. KEep in contact using tech comms."

<MobileAri> * Nicolette calls upon the earth to build simple charged towers to attempt to divert the power of the storm

<Seraphna> **Terra blinks, then frowns and glows, bringing molten rocks up from the lava, letting the stone flash into iron as she creates lighting rods to help**
<DeathStar> *with the slowing of the storm build up from Sparkling and the extra towers/lightning rods, it looks like the group has been given extra time to search now*

<DeathStar> *the ship arrives neat the capital, where the storm crackles with fury; Sylph and Fae working on their shield*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "There is alot of volatile mana in the air... way above normal levels."
<DeathStar> <Mireille> Lana is correct. It might even be strong enough to damage the ship if we are not careful. The city is definitely not safe if the build up continues
<DeathStar> <Yuki> So keep our distance. Gotcha
<DeathStar> <Ben> It looks like everyone is searching for this Lark though
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh... but since its mana-based, and you have me here... I could probably adapt the shields to protect agaisnt it."

<DeathStar> <Yuki> That would help. We don't need a ton of lightning striking us

<Seraphna> **Luci forms two shields in her path and rolls back, Nell tossing a saw blade to seek the familiar**
<DeathStar> *outside, a massive hurricane like build up occurs and the winds send Sylph flying away and Barak is hit with a strange mana powered bolt, crashing him down as the winds begins to shake the buildings*
<DeathStar> *the saws strike the familiar; Lark then leaps at Luci and grabs her skull, then flings her and grabs Selena, attempting to drain her, but sees she's part Spirit. A moment pauses, then she begins to attempt to drain her anyway*

<Jackieness> <Bella> *takes a deep breath and then leaps, trying to tag Lark with a nerve strike, relying in precision rather than trying to match strength with the buffed up familiar right now*
<DeathStar> *Asarar and Bella strike at the same time and she staggers back, glowing with mana and spirit at the same time*
<Jackieness> <Bella> *turns and tries to follow up almost immediately to keep her unbalanced*
<Seraphna> **Luci struggles to stand and grumbles**
<DeathStar> *Selena wobbles as Asarar moves in to help Bella trip her*
<Seraphna> **Nell starts moving the saw that struck Lark to cut more**
