<DeathStar> <Taiga> Alright. Sorry for being all mysterious. We just wanted to check Sparkling out first out. Sparkling - you're very highly likely are going to see a power decrease over the month and lose it.

You can naturally continue to use your powers until that day, or we can try to see if we can take your powers early and store them. Nicolette was able to regain her powers from other Maka, so it indicates to me that one can restore one's power
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "I guess storing them isn't that bad an idea, given everything... I'll just definitely need them back when we have to fight... that thing I'm not allowed to talk about."

Sadly there is only so many test subjects that I know and one of them is a Makai and I doubt Nicolette would appreciate taking power from them

<DeathStar> <Ymir> Both planets have been in a state of unrest. We've been unable to locate Malfoy, and there's been a sort of unground slave trade of familiars and young fauna for their mana. It seems the are seeking victims of a certain age for mana capacity, especially mage potentials.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> So, we're looking at this: Those who might be interested in going with the Aquarius to provide protection along the way, those who are intersted in helping with the Kumen slave trade and help seeking out Malfoy. <Taiga> We believe the latter two are connected, most likely
<DeathStar> <Taiga> We wanted to do a check up on Sparkling first before either of the two missions went underway

<DeathStar> *a short, white haired woman stands there wearing a sleek like dress, standing out among the slums and drawing eyes from the citizens, being in front of a run down building, along with Gwen*
<DeathStar> *Melodie, meanwhile, has finished taking Sparkling's power, making her a normal mage*

<DeathStar> *Vyvy and Gwen both seem to be wearing Alliance Forces Badges, which seem to be brand new, and no longer have the old Geyze Peacekeeper forces*

<DeathStar> *Gwen turns to Kira* So. You need a sit-rep?
<Jackieness> <Kira> "I heard a little, but a rfresher won't hurt."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Well. It looks like they're taking young fauna and familiars if they can and extracting mana from them. They'll even take humans, boys and girls, if they have mage potential. And seem to be extracting what they can from their bodies. Even after taking that one guy Malfoy was using as a patsy from the other universe, it looks like they're still experienting

<Alicia> <Sparkling> "That's really... dirty."

<Jackieness> <Kira> "So any limits on what we cna do to investigate?"
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Well without the other guy, the spirit experiments can't really progress far at least.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Nope. Now that the Alliance has formed the Alliance Forces, basically a new form of the Peacekeepers, and we're slowly restocking with new members, we've been given the same broad powers as before
<DeathStar> *Gwen eyes Nicolette* Being the right hand of the Queen, I imagine she'd want you here if you're interested
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "So, we're moving forwards, at least."
<DeathStar> *Vyvy and Asarar slips inside. It's clear the gang had set up inside the building where there's weapons about and equipment to listen in on the Kumen police forces*

<DeathStar> *Gwen reaches into his pocket and pulls out a notepad* It's um, lets see, surprisingly low tech-gang. Which is what allowed them to be easily taken. They had no you know... *motions at Asarar*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> But they did have a lot of high tech weapons to make up for it. Rail guns, explosives. Trip wires. That kind of stuff.

<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "So... normal gang, but with a benefactor."
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Traced any of their gear to suppliers?"
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "At least that makes things easy. We just find the benefactor."

<Jackieness> <Kira> "I'll take point." *draws her shortblade and heads into the passage, keepign an eye for traps or alarms*
<DeathStar> *Gwen returns* We might have a lead on where the weapons lead. It seems to go to a wealthy weapon broker named Owen Jackson.
<DeathStar> *Ymir lifts her head up, looking confusd*
<DeathStar> <Ymir> ... I'll go meet with the police
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Oh, I'm not saying that Zayne is here, I just meant she's killed people for much less."
<DeathStar> *Asarar eyes Ymir heading out, then follows Kira*

<DeathStar> *After a bit of travel, the team reaches what looks to be a ladder and a trap door*
<Jackieness> <Kira> *presses a finger to her lips and examines both for traps or alarm trips*

<DeathStar> *a silent alarm going off somewhere*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> So anyone know how to disarm?

<Jackieness> <Kira> "Asarar, dear... technical solutions are in your wheelhouse."
<DeathStar> *Asarar nods and moves over to the alarm while Gwen puts Talia back into his jacket*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> ... Disarmed. *she shoves the trap door up and climbs up*
<MobileAri> * Nicolette doublechecks for traditional low-tech alarms, like poorly balanced debris
<Jackieness> <Kira> *heads up*
<DeathStar> *it looks safe, thankfully, as Vyvy goes up; the team finds themselves inside the lower levels slums facility 2 of the bio-tech corporation. This area is meant to be so people can get jobs here and work on the bio-tech material such as medicine and other stuff, but since Fauna are also born in facilities, though not to the degree like they were before since Ymir came into power, being highly regulated - they mainly are now born in the bio-tech facilities in the upper levels for if the population gets low, medical reasons, etc etc. But since this goes all the way up to the upper levels from this bottom basement level*
<DeathStar> *Vyvy looks around the cargo floor and moves to the door, trying it but it gives her a noise, indicating she doesn't have the ID to let her in*
<DeathStar> *Asarar observes the trapdoor and where it's located; it seems to have been made to look like a drainage almost*
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "I never knew about these passages... wow. Things would have been different."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Well; it's definitely an inside job. Someone who works in the Bio-Tech Corporation. Which of course is under Ymir's umbrella.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "That explains where they get the science gear for their work. Two more tunnels to go, too."
<DeathStar> *Gwen looks up who she has running the Bio-Tech for her*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> It looks like Caesune has taken over the job again the past few years. I'm shocked something like this got under her nose
<DeathStar> *he slips back down into the tunnel*

<DeathStar> *the group arrives at private area of the space port, expensive to maintain and well paid for. There's information all around as well*

<DeathStar> *The last passage seem to be different than the rest, leading to an escape path right into Quad 3*

<DeathStar> *Vyvy looks around as they emerge from an alley*
<Jackieness> <Kira> "This was the bolthole. The leaders on site probably came through this way."
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "... this honestly feels wrong."
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "That's why I'm asking if I should guard the exit."
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "Could you trace where those alarms would sound?"

<DeathStar> <Asarar comm> I'll try. On the Owen front, it looks like his shuttles made trips a few times a month; he had his employees handle it and the cargo was fined for going over the weight that he had listed
<DeathStar> <Asarar comm> He's in police custody right now being questioned about all these ties to him
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Make sure he doesn't go free!"
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Do we have any public security cames in th vicinity of the tunnel exit? Curious if they saw anyone fleeing when the raid hit."
<DeathStar> <Asarar comm> Alright the alarm - it looks like it was designed to first go to the building itself where the gang was, but it also was designed to go .... somewhere in Quad 6. Nowhere near Owen's location

<DeathStar> <Asarar comm> Also, Ymir has given you temporary access to Biotech if you want to check it out
<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "Yeah... I don't think Owen is behind this. At best, he's low level. At worst, he's being set up."
<DeathStar> *Kira receives feed from the area*

<Jackieness> <Kira> *checks through the footage for the timeframe of the raid*
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "So we need to find the big boss..."
<DeathStar> *Kira would see what looks to be a few gang members escaping the tunnel, lucky enough to get out before the police. But that's about it*

<DeathStar> *Ymir contacts them* <Ymir> Sorry to bother you. I've been talking to Owen. He swears he did not do anything illegal and has no idea why everything points at him. He vets his people thoroughly as well. I believe him, too, or I wouldn;t work with him in the past. I'll see what I can do to clear his name and see if a rotten egg slipped in. In the mean time I'll head to Biotect and see what is up there for you all

<DeathStar> *Gwen, Vyvy, and Asarar follow; once inside, they see rich Geyze materials all over the room*
<MobileAri> * Nicolette slips inside with way too much experience for a court mage.

<Alicia> * Sparkling heads in, without an ounce of subtlety
<DeathStar> *Sparkling and Nocturne would pick up lots of Magic traps all over the room*
<DeathStar> *Especially leading to the next room*

<Alicia> <Sparkling> "I could disarm the traps, but not really subtly."

<Jackieness> <Kira> "Call it in to get the building sealed up then Sparkling could disarm the traps letting us move. If they try to run, they run right into the dragnet outside."
