<Seraphna> **Anyata keeps an eye out, frowning** Indeed… it seems a lot of Geyze fighters are dependant on Mana too?
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I'm not surprised. It's like a famine zone."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...its a desert. Its inaccesiblility is probably why it was chosen for this site of whatever this is."
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I don't just mean the lack of physical food, you know."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> It's just that this place ... *he points at the fort walls* should have sentries. It was built long ago to keep out Hapians. History lesson for you.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh...its low water that defines a desert...lack of food is more an effect of the former."
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "It being a desert is one of the reasons no-one likes being here, but... is the low mana uncomfortable for you?"
<DeathStar> *Alouette pauses at the large Fortress doors, which are closed. They seem to be designed for someone on the inside to raise them up, but with no one around, that looks a little hard to do*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh... not really that different from when I was growing up. Not much magic use on Mars."
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Because this place has probably always been a desert, but the fort isn't new, is it? So it can't just be the desert itself keeping people away."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...maybe it has a bad reputation."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> The fortress draining mana - or taking it - is a new development or Shinobu would have brought it up
<DeathStar> *He studies the closed doors*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Because if there really is no-one here, this isn't much of a fort any more."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "It could be machinery of some sort..."
<Seraphna> Anyata> Could they be messing with your energy paths… umm.. leylines?
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Seems weird for... oh! They might be running the fort on the drained mana!"

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...we need to get inside to investigate."
<Alicia> * Yoiyami attempts to shadowport inside, at least enough to peek
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Well we need to get inside and the door is blocking us. I wonder if Nicolette managed to get in---

<Alicia> * Yoiyami reports on what she saw inside
<DeathStar> *Yoiyami sticks her head close to a what looks to be the ceiling with some candles; down below is the hallway*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "They have candles, but it looks empty."
<Seraphna> Anyata> Can we follow that or should I open the door?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Can you force open such a large door?
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Should be able to."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I'm beginning to feel less masculine
<Seraphna> Anyata> In a manner of speaking. **she shifts her glowing saber**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh?"
<Seraphna> Anyata> Are you sure? Your wife spent half of a class discussing how you were good for opening cans of tuna.

<Seraphna> **Talia shakes Pom Poms in the distance**
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I'm sure you've got plenty of skills."

<Seraphna> **Anyata takes Yoi’s dark hole**
<DeathStar> *the group falls past what looks to be a chandlier and lands in the hallway. As they hit the ground, they would spot what appears to be someone nearby*

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ack!"
<DeathStar> *Gwen lands on his head while alouette lands perfectly*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami lands on all fours, but looks to be completely fine
<Seraphna> **Anyata eyes the someone and falls into a ready strike stance**
<Ariel> <Nicolette> *adjusts her hat* "What are you all doing here?"
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Investigating."
<DeathStar> <Alouette> We were sent in by Lumi to help investigate the place
<Jackieness> <Lana> *groans from where she flopped on the floor*
<DeathStar> *Gwen lays there* The students forced their way
<DeathStar> *Gwen sits up*
<Seraphna> Anyata> Where is our event?
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Sorry about the drop. I never said I was perfect!"
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Anywa, someone or something is gathering a lot of mana in this place
<DeathStar> <Gwen> They're draining the nearby land
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...a dangerous... amount."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I'm thinking a weapon of sorts. But how they dragged such a fiercesome weapon here without Shinobu knowing
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Maybe its an old one...left to disappear to the sands...but somethign turned it on."
<DeathStar> *Alouette hurries on ahead towards some doors and strains to open them*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "If it's not a weapon, they're doing something big here. We'd know if the mana was being transfered elsewhere, right?"
<Seraphna> **Anyata helps her**
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah, I was looking into this when you all decided to, um... drop in."
<DeathStar> *The doors open up to what looks to have been once a dining large room, perhaps a dininng hall for the people of the fort. Inside, bodies are laying all about*
<DeathStar> *on the other side, the doors are sealed with what looks to be a magical barrier*
<DeathStar> <Alouette> Are they dead?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh?! What happened here?!"
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I think we found the daemons of the fort.
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "...oh no. Yeah, this is definitely one of those 'no-one would come here' places..."
<Seraphna> Anyata> An outsider must have dispatched them and then put up that plot barrier.
<Seraphna> Anyata> Magic barrier..
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "They definitely weren't going for subtlety, yeah."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "The drain field must be powering it."
<DeathStar> *Alouette peers at what appears to be nymphs, Lilins, werebeasts, and even a familiar or two*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "... so... is the barrier fueled by... Lana got it."
<DeathStar> <Alouette> I think they're alive
<DeathStar> <Alouette> But are super weak
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "We probably shouldn't stay here long."
<DeathStar> *she points at a wolf werebeast*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I'll call in back up to retrieve them
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Staying in here will drain them further
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Unless we can turn it off, somehow..."
<Seraphna> **Anyata eyes the barrier**
<Seraphna> Anyata> Can we overpower it?
<DeathStar> *the barrier seems to be made with a magical spell to try to keep out intruders*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Hmm... consider it extra credit, if you can figure this out~."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "I'll work at it..." *moves over to examine the barrier*
<DeathStar> *Gwen finishes calling for back up; a moment or two later, the area shakes as Sylph arrives with Ellie*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Disrupting the flow seems like it'd work, but the question is how."
<DeathStar> *Sylph peering over all the bodies and begins to multiply herself and picking up daemons to take back to the academy*
<Sara> * Ellie waves
<DeathStar> *The barrier itself seems to be made magic that is coming from the the walls to "pin" it*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... maybe my mana weaving skills can be used to disrupt the flow. Manipulting raw mana is my specility."
<Seraphna> **Terra looks about having followed Sylph in curiosity**
<DeathStar> *Sylph looks a bit weak, mainly due to making so many of herself*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> You think you can disrupt it, Lana?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "I can try."
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "...wow. That's one hell of a speciality."
<Jackieness> <Lana> *adjusts her glasses and tries to weave the barrier into a more passable form*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Choosing a specialty is amazing~."
<Seraphna> Terra> My speciality is Fruit.
<DeathStar> <Sylph> ... *Tilts head* What is my speciality?
<DeathStar> <Fae> .. Wind mom
<DeathStar> *She aids her in moving people*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Is that a speciality or an element?"
<Seraphna> Terra> Yes.
<DeathStar> <Sylph> Gasp. I-If I'm not wind, what am I!?
<DeathStar> *Sylph begins to have a crisis*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "You don't know?"
<Seraphna> Terra> Then you are Fae Mom.
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Your specialty can be an element."
<DeathStar> <Sylph> Yay!
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Then mine is darkness... or eating."
<DeathStar> *the barrier is soon disrupted*
<Seraphna> Anyata> I wish to decimate this shield. My speciality is beating up baddies and making Allouette smile.
<DeathStar> *Alouette reaches for the door*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... its down!"
<DeathStar> <Alouette> Here we go. *She opens it*
<Seraphna> **Anyata guards her**
<DeathStar> *on the other side, it appears to be a hallway, leading left and right, with a door on the far end end of both ends of the hallway. The mana energy is huge all over, making it hard to tell where the enemy might be. Or maybe they're in both rooms*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... we found all the mana."
<Ariel> * Nicolette wanders to the left almost casually, but she does have her rod in hand.
<DeathStar> *Sylph looks at Ellie*
<DeathStar> *Fae remains behind with the people in the room to finish there*
<DeathStar> *Alouette hurries after Nico*
<Sara> * Ellie blinks
<DeathStar> <Sylph> Sylph sticks with Ellie!
<DeathStar> *Gwen heads to the right*
<Sara> * Ellie goes after Nicolette
<Jackieness> <Lana> *goes with Gwen to the right*
<Seraphna> **Anyata follows Allouette and Terra follows the group**
<DeathStar> *Nicolette would find the door easy to open this time at least*
<Ariel> * Nicolette quietly pushes the door with her cane, and peeks inside
<DeathStar> *Gwen opens his door and steps inside; the room leads into what looks to be two large stone golem like creatures. Behind them, a group of men are standing behind a in a cloak, waiting, all of them turning as the door opens*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *shakes her head and tries to pull Gwen back and close the door*
<DeathStar> *Nicolette turns, also coming across a large stone golem protecting some men standing as they're creating what looks to be mana crystals - a massive amount of them. The room is soaked in excess mana*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Oh, we're not late, are we?"
<DeathStar> <Gwen> What was that?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh...I think its the bad guys."
<Seraphna> Anyata> What are these crude warriors you have made?
<Seraphna> **Terra tilts her head almost confused**
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "They don't look that impressive."
<DeathStar> <Sylph> I'm actually a bit afraid to use my powers with the amount of mana in the air
<DeathStar> *The men eye Nicolette as Gwen hurries to join Nicolette, pulling his group along*
<Seraphna> Terra> Oh right. Good thing I have hyperspace! **her hands glow with the light**
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ahhh...mana crystals... like what they were draining from people..."
<Seraphna> **Anyata begins moving forward, her beam katana ready**
<DeathStar> *the stone golem comes to life and begins to walk forward, the men begin to gather the crystals, still not speaking, but warily watching so far*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Would you mind keeping that big thing back for a bit?" She starts tracing out a glyph for preventing teleportation.
<Seraphna> **Anyata rushes it with an assassin strike, aiming to severe a limb**
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Shouldn't we stop them taking the crystals?"
<Seraphna> **Terra nods** Be shadowy!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...there is plenty of mana here..."
<DeathStar> *Anyata slices at it's limb, and the stone arm does fall off, but it immediately reattaches, or does it regrow*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...there is plenty of mana here..."
<DeathStar> *it keeps reaching for Anyata and grabs at her to toss her away*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *steps forward and tries to weave the mana to disrupt the spell holding the golem together*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami opens a foxhole near the crystals, reaching tendrils through to grab them
<Seraphna> Anyata> Ah. I must defeat you as if you were a Reploid. **she goes in again, aiming for the core**
<Seraphna> **Terra blasts at it’s legs with hyperspace**
<DeathStar> *That gets a raction, the men chanting and a large scale flare spell goes off in front of Yoiyami*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah, we can't let them escape with all that."
<DeathStar> *while the team works at dismantling the one golem and the men blow up the room with the flare, there's a sound from behind them*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami stays silent, listening intently until her sight returns
<DeathStar> *Sylph keeps in front of Ellie for now*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... we forgot to mention.. there were a bunch more that we were running from..."
<DeathStar> *The wall explodes and two more bust in, along with a bunch more cloaked men along with two smaller figures.*
<DeathStar> *it seems they took a short cut from the other room*
<Seraphna> **Terra frowns and eyes them**
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "... still blurry..."
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Oh, come on! A break away wall?"
<DeathStar> *The small figures move toward the mana crystals that have not been retrieved yet and begin to touch them, while the two golems approach the group. The mages begin to prepares spells, aimiing at the group and begin do spells that are lethal now. Fire balls come raining down*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Oh, that's what they were doing."
<DeathStar> *Gwen pulls Yoi down to protect her since her sight is recovering*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami has been trying to grab mana crystals throughout
<Jackieness> <Lana> *raises her hands and then quickly tries to weave together a barrier field*
<DeathStar> *Alouette flails* Anyata. Fire!
<Seraphna> **Anyata guards her as Terra melts into the floor**
<Alicia> * Yoiyami sinks into the shadows, for protection if nothing else... not taking crystals any more.
<DeathStar> *The two smaller figures compete with Yoiyami, moving around the room. One of the stone golems, targetting Anyata in anger for the death of the one, and the other going for Lana, both march along and try to life both of the two up Bana style*
<DeathStar> *Bane
<DeathStar> *The cloaked figures switch over to ice magic, lowering the temp of the room now*
<Seraphna> **Anyata waits till it closes in then blurs as she goes for a Core attack**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh!"
<Seraphna> **Terra sneaks through the floor to try and trap one of the naughty mages**
<Ariel> * Nicolette finishes her glyph, and switches to Earth magic, causing walls of stone to slam up around the crystals
<DeathStar> *one of the cloaked mages looks surprised*
<DeathStar> *the stone golem, someone recalling that is how the other fell, blocks and holds onto Anyata until Alouette comes to her rescue*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami slams a tendril into one of the smaller figures the moment it makes a noise
<Seraphna> **Anyata looks perturbed, but starts attack it’s limbs when freed**
<Jackieness> <Lana> *adjusts her weave and tries to use her barrier to tear apart the golem coming at her*
<Seraphna> **Terra hums as she wraps her prey in a stone prison**
<DeathStar> *the stone golem is taken out. The second backs off warily*
<Seraphna> **Anyata keeps going, showing her fighting style is speed rather than strength as she goes for the core again**
<DeathStar> *the two smaller ones going around retrieving the crystals - the smaller of them curses at Nicos tactic and looks flustered when Yoiyami comes in and attacks. Forcing the other two swing a scythe at her back*
<DeathStar> *the other of the two
<Jackieness> <Lana> *turns her attention to the mages and then shifts from defense to offense, weaving her mana armor*
<DeathStar> *the mages focus wind magic on Terra, to try to sotp her as they lose more of their numbeR*
<Seraphna> **Terra teleports herself behind them and flips part of the floor at them**
<Jackieness> <Lana> *trudges forward in the mecha-like mana armor, trying to knock down the mages*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami tries to block the scythe with another tendril
<DeathStar> *the room seems to almost rock and shake*
<DeathStar> *who knows what happens, but both sides are thrown apart*
<DeathStar> *Sylph attempts wind magic to cushion Ellie but that semi-makes it worse*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh?! Ah, spirit catalyzed mana detonation!"
<Alicia> * Yoiyami moves to blocking anything that might hit her, but her fuzzy vision means she's probably blocking things that aren't there too
<Seraphna> **Terra turns into a burning bright figure a moment to protect herself, Anyata covers Allouette**
<DeathStar> *The ceiling begins to threaten to cave in as parts of it start to weaken*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Grab what we can
<DeathStar> *The figure that Yoiyami was fighting leans over her, hood down and eyes her, then pulls it back up and moves off*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *tries to bulldoze through to grab the mana crystals with her mana armor's hands*
<DeathStar> *Lana would see that the two figures were absorbing their's*
<DeathStar> *but at least the one's Yoiyami grabbed are still with her*
<Seraphna> **Terra eyes the crystals and thinks better of actually touching them, teleporting out of the room**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh?" *shakes her head and tries to make her escape*
<DeathStar> *Gwen hurries* <Sylph> I would attempt to teleport all of us, but I think it might be a bad idea with you carrying that much mana crystals
<Seraphna> **Terra pops back in** I can do it. Terra not need spirit to teleport.
<Seraphna> **Terra has retrieved a Fae**
<Alicia> * Yoiyami blinks repeatedly, getting her vision back.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "....ahhh...we just need to get out before the place collapses on us!"
<DeathStar> <Fae> That all of us? Then lets go
<Seraphna> **Terra nods and teleports the group back to the Familiars**
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Grab what you can!" *unravels the glyph*
<DeathStar> *Lumi is pacing when they return*
<Alicia> * Yoiyami teleports back with as many crystals as she can carry
<DeathStar> *Lumi blinks upon their return, staring at the mana crystals in her hands*
<DeathStar> <Lumi> That's an unusual item you have in your hand
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "So, they were stockpiling mana in crystal form."
<Jackieness> <Lana> *dispels her mana armor and then flops, more crystals landing around ehr* "Ahhhhhh!"
<DeathStar> <Lumi> ... *she eyes it* I see that. And it's full a lot of it.
<DeathStar> <Lumi> But mana crystals aren't really something used anymore
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...they wer concentrating large amounts of ambiet mana... and these hooded creaures were consuming the captured mana."
<DeathStar> *Sylph sits on Ellie's head*
<Sara> <Ellie> Why do places like that always fall apart!
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I guess there's normally no point crystallising it."
<Sara> * Ellie huffs
<DeathStar> <Sylph> Because I built them long ago for fruit
<DeathStar> *Sylph ho ho hos*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...but...what you just witnessed was a mana blast triggered by excessive spirit energy being introduced to the environment."
<Seraphna> Terra> The most honorable reason to build anything!
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Too much magic at one time... yeah, that was messy."
<DeathStar> *Lumi thinks on that*
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Hm. Well thankfully none of the Daemon there were killed
<DeathStar> <Lumi> The guards can be questioned if you want
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "That was unusual in itself..."
<DeathStar> <Alouette> What an interesting school assignment. <Lumi> Don't think your school life will always be like this
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Oh
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhhhh?"
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "...oh wow, is this what the Strikers felt like every time?"
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Yoi. Did you get a good look at one of the smaller ones?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I noticed one of their hoods were off
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Sorry, I couldn't see well."
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Well... they went to a lot of effort not to kill the people there."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> It seemed to me that the two smaller ones were absorbing the crystals while the larger ones were almost cannon fodder
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... tits likely they didn't need to once the barrier was up."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I see.
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Nico!
<DeathStar> *She saddles up to her*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I think they were draining their life too."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "They were certainly too weak to do anythign by the time we got here."
<DeathStar> <Lumi> You should think about hanging around here more often. Especially if --- *She pauses and looks at the others* What were these people? Mages? Blood mages?
<DeathStar> <Lumi> We have any idea?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh...they reminded me of the rogue mages that were running around campus a while back, draining mana from familiars and even other students."
<Seraphna> Talia> Why absorbing crystals…
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah, this is likely the start of something bigger."
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Probably."
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh.. it would be easier to hypothesize if we knew what the creatures were."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> So first order
<DeathStar> <Gwen> See what they look like
<DeathStar> *bells chime, indicating classes are over for the day*
<DeathStar> <Alouette> Oh crap; I missed an afternoon class
<DeathStar> *Alouette runs off*
<Alicia> <Yoiyami> "... I'll just do catchup studies."

<DeathStar> *Sylph pulls Ellie over to give Yoi a look*

<DeathStar> *Sylph leans in toward Gwen, Talia, etc* We should have a survival course for the students like the old days
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Do we even have a class in that?"
<DeathStar> <Sylph> I wonder if the Headmistress would be interested

<DeathStar> *she thumbs at herself*
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "I mean... if people want to study how to crew spaceships..."
<DeathStar> *the bell rings, signalling Lumi needs the Peacekeepers. Melodie pulls Sparkling along, clearly bored out of her mind*

<DeathStar> <Lumi> There is a few communities of mages on Geyze that still use them, mainly to store their power - what they do is they put as much of their mana into the crystal as they can at a time, then recharge, then put more, then recharge.
<DeathStar> <Lumi> Then when a big spell is needed they can use the crystals. Essentially these communities are mages with low power mana levels

<DeathStar> *Lumi shakes head* No. And the second is similiar. I been trying to locate them and I think they might be from the other Geyze. Which is confusing surprisigly since the human population was kept on such a tight leash. But according to them, mana crystals were used there too and their mages excelled at using them

<DeathStar> <Lumi> Mana crystals were shown to have passed through Kumen's port
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... maybe we should go there to investigate who might have left."

<DeathStar> <Lumi> If you plan to go to Kumen it might not hurt to get some help
<DeathStar> <Lumi> And if you plan to go further to the other world using one of their ships

<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh... the property would be a good place to start."

<DeathStar> *Asarar shifts and heads for a vehicle to take them to the property*
