<@DeathStar> *over the past few months, it has finally begun - monster raids have begun against the various Kingdoms, almost as if they are probing the various Kingdom's defenses, all except the Naturalist's defenses. Large amounts of monsters will rise out of the ground, and attack various villages and cities, forcing responses from the Kingdom's military to quell the monsters and force them to retreat, almost as if they are testing their response time. So far none of the attacks have been against their main forces or the capitals themselves, but the raids have been causing hysteria and the people wanting more of the military to be stationed at the various cities for protection, at the least wanting the Peacemakers stationed there (Cont)
<@DeathStar> *going back in time, the Aquarius when it was at the walled off village back last summer, managed to look over the village and found it to be a deserted village that was completely walled off because it looked like the villagers had stumbled across Keeper technology by accident, at best guess, and the Naturalist then went and destroyed what they could for some reason, and when that failed walled it off from existence*
<@DeathStar> *upon learning that the team was probing there, the Naturalist forced the group to leave the area before they could take anything from the city, citing it as an important site, however*

<@DeathStar> <Lumi> With the way things are progressing, I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to focus on just research. I'm having to devote more manpower to help the other Kingdoms armies thanks to the monster attacks.

<Jackieness> <Lana> *pushes up her glasses* "This is not a coincidence that we are learning these things now and these attacks are happening."
<@Seraphna> Thena> Would be nice to know how the Naturalists are getting them to avoid them.
<@DeathStar> <Lumi> I agree it would be nice. They certainly didn't want us around the last Keeper location

I'll grant your team the status to move independently and with my authority to investigate anywhere you see fit on Geyze. I'd say Kumen, too, but they withdrew from the Alliance.

Kumen City has been closed off to those who live in the slums cannot leave it and are now a work force for the Corporations, under the guise of giving them jobs and food, etc*

<@Seraphna> Thena> It is one reason we worry about the Naturalists secrecy. He may have already gotten to their leadership.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "And the fact that they are keepign us away from the Keeper site in their territory suggest that either theyt are using Keeper technology...or they fear it."

<@Seraphna> Nox> Oh? Mores the pity. Well we can ask her at least. She's both an Earth Spirit and a Progenitor so... teleporting underground is probably something she excels at.

<@Seraphna> Nox> They home base in the Great Forest of course, which has Suisen Technology protecting it, but yeah they pop around filling their mother's roles as the Hero Spirits.

It seems to be designed almost like a familiar. The scans indicate it's pretty old, older than most familiars naturally. And it seems to be in some sort of stand by mode. It's looks like it was made to move and look like a doll, but at the same time it almost feels like a person due to how it was built, adding to a creepy feel to it*

The population has begun to demand the Peacemakers and the armies leave behind people to protect them, spreading their forces thin. So far the only Kingdom without attacks occurring is the Naturalist, for some reason. And it looks as if Lana is recruiting for some special unit; Selena pinning the note to the board as well*

<@DeathStar> *The city looks calm and peaceful. It seems to be mostly a mix of humans and werebeast - a mix of tiger and wolf. They all seem to be very alert, as if keeping an eye out for people even as the three approach the city, one can see they are looking out into the plains from the top of the trees and as they get near, they are being watched. What stores there are only seem to sell home made materials, and what places to relax seem to be places like a fountain, or a park; there are places to stay, an inn it appears, and there are places for children to play, but otherwise it appears to be a location of what can be made by hand*

<@DeathStar> *the manor is rather luxurous compared to the other buildings, despite it's simple design just by it's large size and how many people can be fit inside it. Selena turns to Nicolette* <Selena> It's well defended - except against fire

<@DeathStar> *Selena points out two other large houses* Those are the closest to nobles. The house of the biggest store owner in the city and the other is a trader of sorts

<@DeathStar> <Selena> The trader I know a little, yes. He's gone to Hapian quite often. He strikes me as a man who doesn't appear to have same distaste of technology as his people, but for some reason chooses to live here all the same. I'm not quite sure why. He is talented enough that he could make more in another kindgom.

<@DeathStar> <Selena> That is a good question. I find it hard to believe the enemy could replace a simple trader that I've had some dealings with to lay some trap. That would be hard to imagine. <Shin> Unless it is a trap meant for someone else and you are just stepping into it

He studies them, not recognizing Selena with the bandages and her hair done up under the hat, but he seems to recognize Nicolette* <Trader> Ah, um I was not expecting someone of your status to be here? *he looks at Selena again, trying to decide if she is a bodyguard or someone more* Do you wish to come inside? *he asks Nicolette, bowing*

<@DeathStar> *the Trader leads them inside to his living room, where pictures of his family can be seen - a wife and two daughters, as well as a son who seems to be following in becoming a trader.* Please wait here. *He can be seen going into the kitchen and preparing some tea and snacks. Shin listens to him, then as he returns and sets the cups of tea down, she reaches, almost rudely, to try one of the snacks first, then takes the first cup of tea handed to Nicolette, sipping it. Since she gives no indication they are bad, it seems everything okay*

<MobileAri> <Nicolette> "Thank you." She takes a sip of tea, "I was hoping you could help me with getting the lay of the land here. I was curious about how the locals were keeping the monsters away, but the state of things... the tension here feels more like a city under occupation."
<@DeathStar> *the man seems to seriously consider that, stirring his tea in thought* <Trader> You might not be too far off from that observation. We've been forbidden from trading right now with the monster attacks occurring. Our leader - River - states that world is out of ...synch with all the spirit tech and magi tech on the rise, well, technology in general. I don't hold much water on it, we've been using such for how long now without any problems? But he claims it is why the monsters keep returning strong and stronger each time. And that without such things we will be spared their attacks. He says the fact we've cleared all the tech from the cities and not been attacked is proof of it. But...

<@DeathStar> <Trader> I can't rule that out, of course. Any trader worth his salt knows they have to keep an open mind and know that even after so many years, a business partner can try to cut you out when the market place winds change. But I feel like he might be using something to make us almost blind to them. Or driving them away. Sort of like when you hang something up to keep away gnaws. If that is the case, why he hasn't shared it is beyond me. Perhaps there is so little of it? Or his religious beliefs that about tech that he refuses to give it to the other Kingdoms until they get rid of it...

<@DeathStar> <Trader> It is just my belief. I find it hard to believe anyone would willingly work with monsters that kidnap people and eat them or do worse. *he sips his tea* Perhaps I am gullible. But if he does have something to keep them away from us, it would be either with him or in a place only he knows about

<@DeathStar> <Trader> River is a good man at heart and wants to do right by his people, just I think he goes about it in a way that rubs people the wrong way. If you want to approach him, I would be upfront with what you want. Don't lie. Just tell it to his face.
<@DeathStar> <Trader> If he finds out later he was manipulated, he will react poorly.
<@DeathStar> <Trader> He might not like the other Kingdom's ways, but I know deep down he has to realize this is something he cannot go it alone
