<@DeathStar> *the crew the team rescued a while back has been making various repairs, but it is clear that without certain parts, the boat will not be moving further up the river. Currently, it is stuck inside a dark forest and though the monster attack done against it has had it's repairs done, the darkness of the forest and locating any sort of parts to get the boat going seems very unlikely at this point*
<@DeathStar> *Selena slowly gathers various vines hanging near the boat, preparing to go into the forest*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> *looks at the trees* "Ahhhhh....wwe cna't leave the crew here undefended while we go searching though."

<@DeathStar> <Selena> Especially with Qui taken. I have no idea why she seemed so out of it to allow herself to be taken, but we have to follow and see if we can find spare parts to get moving. Unless we plan to abandon the boat

<@DeathStar> *it appears to be evening/late evening judging by the sky. The meadow area seems to mostly have flowers, and some signs of ordinary animals of all things, but after a while of looking around she would spot a single lone branch*
<@DeathStar> *Selena looks picks a single white flower, holding it in her hand*
<@DeathStar> *then offers it to Nicolette*
<@Seraphna> **Terra slides over to the branch and holds it over her head Zeldastyle**

<@DeathStar> *The trees in this area seem to have no idea what she is talking about*

<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Perhaps we should not trust trees with those claw marks."
<@DeathStar> *Selena seems to think a moment, probably re-orienting herself* I believe we can find our way back this way

<@DeathStar> *the marked trees have been marked by monster claws; who knows why the trees would protect them however*
<@DeathStar> *it lamost appears as if they are angled as such for climbing up them*
<@DeathStar> *after a bit of a detour, Selena gets them back in the area with the marked trees*
<@Seraphna> **Alt hops off Selena’s head and moves along above them in the trees**

<@DeathStar> <Azif> ... *she begins to work on climbing up*
<@DeathStar> *almost comedically so*
<@Seraphna> **Terra shrugs and slides up and along branches like Disney Tarzan**
<@DeathStar> *Zayne stops at a tree and looks up*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh?" *looks up at azif trying to climb*
<@DeathStar> *up in the tree tops, Alt finds what looks to be signs of something leaping from tree to tree and even tree houses in some of them*
<@Seraphna> Alt> There’s houses and stuff up here.
<@DeathStar> *Azif manages to get up*
<@DeathStar> <Selena> So they're moving through the tree tops?
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "It is likely safer than the ground level."

<@DeathStar> *Yoiyami and the familiars would hear a low ringing sound only animal ears would pick up after the trap goes off*

<@DeathStar> *Azif adjusts her clothes* These tree houses have traps - we should becareful.
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "That floaty platform might be a good idea now."
<@Seraphna> Alt> And alarms.
<@Jackieness> <Lana> *nods and dismisses the light orb, weaving a platform to lift the team up to the tree house level*
<@DeathStar> *as they are lifted up in the darkness, the team would hear sounds of movement in the dark*
<@DeathStar> *something climbs up into the treehouse*

<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Shhhhh..."
<@Alicia> * Yoiyami remains silent, watching, able to see in the darkness
<@DeathStar> *a furry looking monster like what attacked the boat seems to be looking over the trap. At further glance, it almost looks a bit like a werebeast monster, but it appears to lack the humanoid features that come with it, having only the beast portions. It sniffs the trap and begins to take in the scent, then moves toward where Alt and Azif are located, drawing a weapon*
<@DeathStar> *it seems to be drawing back a spear, much like the other Kingdom had, moving back as if to poke the wall*
<@Seraphna> **Talia lets out a ferocious and powerful Mew**
<@DeathStar> *the beast pauses, then turns toward where the platform is located and leaps forward*

<@DeathStar> *landing on the platform itself*
<@Seraphna> **Alt takes the chance to leap at it from
<@Seraphna> Behind slicing**
<@DeathStar> *The monster is sliced and pauses, then falls from the platform and crashes onto the ground below*
<@Seraphna> **Alt hmms and rushes down the trunk after it**
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Talia doesn't understand the concept of stealth, what a surprise."
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "....ahhh....ok...ok...we're done..."
<@Seraphna> Talia> Was distracting it from my daughter.
<@DeathStar> *Azif floats down to the ground; however, down on the ground level there is no monster, but a human like figure bleeding and unconscious*

<@DeathStar> *the healing magic is not as effective as it should be, but the flow blood seems to slow at least*
<@DeathStar> *in the woods, more monster like howls can be heard - as if more are approaching*
<@Seraphna> Alt> Cure Magic not working well?
<@DeathStar> <Azif> It seems to be the body itself, not the cure magic.
<@Seraphna> **Alt muses and ties a bandage over the bleed**
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "...we made too much commotion."
<@DeathStar> *Azif looks up* What do we do with this human monster?
<@Seraphna> Alt> Make comfy. They’ll be okay now.
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah... I wasn't expecting to run into... well, this."
<@DeathStar> *Zayne seem to be thinking* Is this some sort of transformation magic?
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "Probably."
<@DeathStar> <Zayne> People who can turn into monsters, or monsters who can turn into people?
<@Seraphna> Talia> From the way her magic isn’t having as much effect, I’m willing to bet a shard twisted these folks.
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "This is likely their house...so tuck them into bed and?"
<@DeathStar> *Origin makes panicked chirps as the werebeast noises are getting closer*

<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...I'm not sure they are capable of talking in this state."

<@DeathStar> <Selena> But if they can track us by scent, we need a way to hide it

<@Seraphna> **Terra makes tree scents cover them all, mud creeping about to mask more**
<@DeathStar> *Zayne eyes the mud* .... *she goes to complain when in the darkness, more of the monster werebeasts begin to come out of the woods*

<@Seraphna> **Talia covers Lana’s mouth**
<@DeathStar> *they can be seen creeping along cautiously, clearly sniffing the air like a mix between monsters and animals, craning their heads when Lana makes a noise*
<@DeathStar> *they rise up and look about, peering into the darkness to try to locate her*
<@DeathStar> *another set move toward the human on the ground, lifting him up and tossing him over their shoulder without an sign of being gentle; more like he's a meal to be eaten, then they begin to creep along slowly. All of them begin to head back into the woods, except a tall looking one who seems to be staying behind*
<@Seraphna> **Terra makes some sod in the distance shift to distract the tall one away**
<@DeathStar> *the tall's head turns, and for an instance it almost looks like the monster's eyes narrows, before it leaps away into the dark*
<@DeathStar> *leaving the group alone*

<@DeathStar> <Selena> I think it's safe to speak now
<@DeathStar> *Selena slowly lowers herself to the ground level*
<@Seraphna> Talia> *whisper* Follow time.
<@DeathStar> <Selena> I'll try to follow their tracks the best I can. Yoiyami?
<@Jackieness> <Lana> *platforms the others back down*
<@DeathStar> <Selena> I could use your help as well for the tracking while Alt keeps an eye out for anything in the trees.
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I'll do what I can. I don't like the way they just grabbed the other guy."
<@DeathStar> <Zayne> Lets hope they were retrieving him to help and not something more dark

<@DeathStar> <Azif> I do have theories, but most of them are not happy ones
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "I guess they could just not care about anyone but themselves."
<@DeathStar> *Selena eyes Azif, then begins to track what she can, leading the way. Sadly, it seems they did not leave a lot of physical ones and some of it can only be detected by scent*
<@Alicia> * Yoiyami does track, but she's not as good a tracker as her mother.
<@Seraphna> **Alt and Talia lend their kitty senses**
<@DeathStar> *Yoiyami and Selena keep the group heading in the correct direction; eventually, Alt and Talia would see up in the trees what looks to be tree house structures with people moving about inside them. Down below, the others would see something happening - it looks like a large firepit is going and Qui is near it, with a lot of werebeasts. A large soup pot is on top of the firepit, and they are cooking something witha lot of meat and bones. Sitting about the fire is a bunch of boys and girls, in human form, naked, while werebeasts are all about the place guarding it. Up in the trees, Alt and Talia would see a mix of werebeasts and humans*

<Ariel> * Nicolette stares... did they really raid the ship and kidnap Qui, just to make stew?
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh....what do we do?"
<@DeathStar> *Azif turns to look at Nicolette* Human stew. *she nods, as if reading her mind*
<@DeathStar> <Azif> They might have eaten their poor comrade too
<@DeathStar> *littered about in the trees however, Alt would see a treehouse full of junk from previous ships, all piled up*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Are we sure they plan to eat Qui and not just... ahhh... you know... I mean...she is still alive"
<@Seraphna> Alt> Lots of ship parts here.
<@DeathStar> <Selena> She doesn't seem to be tied up. And she is casually talking to the children
<@DeathStar> <Selena> It is hard to say.
<@DeathStar> *Yoiyami's ears would pick up movement behind the team*
<@Seraphna> Talia> We could be misreading this.
<@DeathStar> *Talia and Alt, who are up in the trees, would see one of the tree huts look to be an area for the wounded - and would spot the wounded figure from earlier inside on a hut*
<@DeathStar> <Zayne> Do we approach the fire pit below or go up in the trees?
<@Seraphna> Talia> I think… we approach openly.
<@DeathStar> *The tall werebeast monster sneaks up on them from behind, grabbing Lana and pulling her in close in a hold*
<@DeathStar> *it begins to growl at them*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhhh?!"
<@Seraphna> Terra> Hey that’s our booby lady.
<@DeathStar> *it looks a lot like a fox almost*
<Ariel> * Nicolette puts her hands up, "Don't hurt her."

<@Seraphna> Terra> Ooo you used it! **offers the fox a fruit**
<@DeathStar> *The monster stares at them without any idea what they're takling about, but since Nicolette seems to be surrending power, it pushes Lana toward her*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> *stumbles into Nico*
<@Seraphna> **Terra wiggles the fruit**
<@DeathStar> *the monster eyes the fruit, then suddenly chomps the fruit and the hand*
<@Seraphna> **Terra slips the hand out in spirit form**
<Ariel> * Nicolette catches Lana, "Anyone have any idea what they're saying?"
<@DeathStar> <Selena> No idea, but it is eyeing Terra's hand now like food
<@DeathStar> *The fox monster begins to lead them toward Qui*
<@DeathStar> *making those loud fox cries as it does*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh...maybe its like wild animals and now associates spirits with food."
<@Seraphna> **Terra hands out fruit as they go**
<@DeathStar> *Qui looks up as they reunite* Ah, hello everyone.
<@Seraphna> Alt> I rescued you.
<@DeathStar> *she adjusts her ragged clothes and stands up* <Qui> Yes you did
<@DeathStar> *the fox monster seems to bark at some other monster types and they hurry off to get something. While it remains watching them and the food*
<@DeathStar> *the children giggle and reach out toward Terra*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "...m...maybe we cna make friends with them and they'll just give us our parts back?"
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "So, what's going on here?"
<@Seraphna> **Terra gives them a pile of fruit**
<@DeathStar> <Qui> From what I can understand
<@DeathStar> <Qui> This monster tribe has the ability to turn human. Or maybe it's a human tribe that can turn into monsters. Either way, they seem to be struggling with language.
<@DeathStar> <Qui> Only the elder can really speak it well.
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "...can we meet this elder?"
<@DeathStar> *the Fox monster eyes Lana, making a noise at her*
<@DeathStar> <Qui> I think the elder was already sent for
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh?!"
<@Alicia> <Yoiyami> "So, they can all understand it?"
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Whew... that'll make this easier."
<@DeathStar> <Qui> I been observing and I think they have some way to communicate with each other that I can't follow - either their monster talk or some group communication that doesn't include us. Telepathy?
<@DeathStar> <Qui> It might explain why they quit speaking like we do
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Well...they are also quite isolated. Language is not static."
<@DeathStar> *as she says that, the monsters bring forth an old looking woman, carrying her on what looks to be a chair. It almost looks comical, animal monsters carrying an old woman with an animal mask on and sets her down before the group*
<@DeathStar> *the children meanwhile have gotten into the fruit pile and seem to be eating away*
<@DeathStar> *the elder also appears to be the only one clothed in the whole tribe*
<@Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh...greetings. I am Lana. We're sorry to bother you but....ahhh...we came for our friend and supplies to repair our ship."

<@DeathStar> *the Elder grips her odd looking cane and turns to look at Lana, the owl looking mask staring at Lana, then speaks in a rather firm voice* <Elder> You are outsiders. You are not from these lands that cause the people to continue the cycle again and again. We apologize for our attack on you. You may go in peace and take what you wish

<@DeathStar> <Elder> They indeed make the weak into slaves - the Kingdom essentially collapsed and the person who took over is nothing more than a Bandit King. He runs the land with a grip of fear with what power he has accumlated there. I cannot tell you what magics he uses to keep the populace in check, but it is most likely dark magics left over from my Mother Patron's time

It is hard to say, since it is a single area compared to their usually massive structures. A large screen begins to wake up as they appear with a large control panel in front of them to use it. It looks like a map of the entire world, showing monster population and tracking it. A massive monster force can be seen on the mainland where Hapian is located*

<@DeathStar> <Selena> So I'm guessing our goal is to head toward Xohan first then? Toppling a Kingdom is going to be a lot of work.

Peeps is watching from he spot, as the silver hair being looks like a spirit, but gives off no spirit energy. Lavenza even looks confused, as the silver hair girl looks around the area*
