<@DeathStar> *after leaping over the Trade City Dam, the boat has been working it's way up the river without much resistance; the team hasn't even encountered that many other boats the past few days either. With their spirit allies taken, they continue up north in the vague hope they can find their spirits somewhere up north*
<@DeathStar> *the crew maintains the boat quietly, while Zayne stands on the deck, peering out at the river. Peeps and Speedy work on making some food in the kitchen for everyone and Heyu, Wyrd, and Azif now follow Alt everyone*

<@Seraphna> **Talia forms her Blades and leaps over, scouting the deck**
<@DeathStar> *Selena uses a line to make sure their two ships are connected; Talia would leap over onto the other ship and it would wobble a bit*
<@DeathStar> *her keen sense of smell would tell her there is no fish on this supposed fishing vessel*
<@Seraphna> Talia> **sniffs** Bad sign, a fishing vessel with no fish. Careful coming aboard the boat isn't stable.
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Of course if you make a flying leap, the boat's going to bob some. That's how floating works."
<@DeathStar> *Zayne carefully steps over onto the other ship, studying the damage done to it* I admit I do not know enough about the technology of these new lands, but the damage done to this boat looks to have been done by Greborlg weapons. At a guess. Their city walls were full of such weaponry

<@Seraphna> Talia> Our ship doesn't bounce about like this. Must be the holes.
<Jackieness> <Lana> *crosses over to examine the damage*
<@DeathStar> *judging by the damage done to it, it is a miracle the ship has not alright sunk*

<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Yeah, could be. They were moving into these lands in search of their missing artifact."
<Jackieness> <Lana> *takes samples of the damaged materials as well as makes scans* "Check below deck."
<@DeathStar> *Selena goes to step below deck when she steps into water* <Selena> Gah
<@Seraphna> Talia> Mmm, yeah well it is sinking.
<@DeathStar> *below deck, an oddity seems to be occuring; magic fields are flickering over damaged sections, keeping most of the water from coming into the ship, but it appears the fields are failing in places, allowing the water to begin to enter the ship*
<@DeathStar> <Zayne> They have technology designed so that even mere fishing vessels are protected from sinking?
<@Seraphna> Talia> This is like... Spirit Tech levels but purely Mana... Mana Tech I guess?
<Jackieness> <Lana> *pokes her head below deck* "Let me see..."
<Ariel> * Nicolette steps aboard, taking a look about, "Could this be a... what's the term... Q-ship?"
<@DeathStar> *Selena glances back, motioning at the fields all over the place. It looks like they're all over the ship, but either due to the amount of damage the ship has taken or other factors, some of the fields over some of the holes is flickering and water has begun to slip in slowly*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *wades in to try to study the fields* "...this technology may be useful..."
<@Seraphna> Talia> Someone's in the engine area...
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhh...go and chekc it out. Be careful."
<@DeathStar> <Selena> You think you can really use it? *she sounds dubious, eeing the ship, when she turns to eye Talia, then deeper into the ship*
<@Seraphna> **Talia walks that way carefully**
<Ariel> * Nicolette watches from the hatch, figuring enough people are in the water right now.
<@DeathStar> *back that way the lights are flickering and a bucket is floaing, oddly, by the engines; where water is piling up. It appears to be deserted here, despite what Talia said - just what appears to be strained engines, a janitor's closet that is closed, and tools floating in the water. Selena follows Talia and looks about*

<@DeathStar> *Selena lifts the bucket up and looks around* Maybe you heard the engines?
<@Seraphna> Talia> No, it was organic movement... **She muses and eyes the closet**

<@Seraphna> **Talia gestures and uses Water Magic to batter and pull the door open**
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh..I'll try to extract it more delicately first."
<Ariel> <Nicolette> *calls down* "Don't sink the ship with us still on it."
<@DeathStar> *the closet door is battered open, revealing what appears to be a Knight. Judging by the armor, it looks to be Gwen's armor. He stands there in the shadows, as if he can't be seen, even with water magic having soaked his armor* <Gwen> ....

<@Seraphna> **Talia hops up and nuzzles him**

<@DeathStar> *she makes her way back to the others, even as Gwen catches Talia*

<Jackieness> <Lana> *examines the machine to see if it cna be removed and how long*
<@DeathStar> *at cursory glance, it would seem the technology is designed into the ship itself as a protection system, placed into the hull itself. Lana will have to go messing into the hull and attempt to extract the magic tech*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh... too long. Integrated into the hull proper. I'll take some deep penetration scans and see ifn I cna reproduce it later."

<@DeathStar> <Gwen> Well, I had to escape the capital of Greborlg and the Knights and everyone was out to get me. So I tried to make my way on a fishing vessel. It didn't quite go to plan. And one of their Knights has been chasing me ever since. They really are not happy with me

<@DeathStar> <Gwen> My plan was to take the river all the way to Gradian, but this river is not a friendly one. Especially when I was near the capital of this Kingdom - I think the only reason I made it by unnoticed was my ship was already damaged by the Greborlgs by then. But of course, it's also too damaged to really keep going as you can see.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "The only reason its going anywhere is that the integrity fields were holding most of the water back."
<@Seraphna> **Talia muses** Perhaps we can make our ship look damaged too.
<@DeathStar> <Selena> You want to try to fool them by making our ship look like crap?
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...if we could only maintain an illusion..."
<@DeathStar> *Gwen shifts onto the deck* It's not a bad plan. But, I need to ask a question before you go doing that.
<@DeathStar> *Zayne quietly has positioned herself as to keep an eye on Gwen*

<@Seraphna> **Alt meanwhile has the Alt Squad helping write up the Ship Soup Recipe for future use**
<Jackieness> <Lana> *looks over the scans she got*
<@DeathStar> *Gwen points down the river* <Gwen> If you keep going, there will be a small river village. They let me do what I wanted for the most part, I think, because I was a Knight. And they answered a few of my questions. The village seems to be a bit of a stronghold, set up where you can turn and start heading south west which is where I came up from, and head into the heart of this Kingdom, or keep going north west. So I was talking to them and the let it slip that there was this fortress north east away from the river and they saw special prisoners taken there to await the regional lord. Do you guys have anyone missing?
<@DeathStar> <Gwen> Because if so, it sounds like you'll have to go on foot to reach this place
<Jackieness> <Lana> "They nabbed soem of our spirits."
<@Seraphna> Talia> Yeah, we gotta get our Time and Death spirits back, probably not a good idea to let them get slaved.
<@DeathStar> *Lana likely could mimic the tech if she got her hand on Greborlg technology - or something akin to it, judging by the scans*

<@DeathStar> *Zayne carefully crosses back over to their boat*
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Abandon ship!" *hops back to their boat*
<@DeathStar> *Gwen watches them leave his ship, peering at Lana*

<@DeathStar> *Gwen peers at his boat, which is still ever so slowly sinking, then back at their's*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhhhh?"
<@Seraphna> Talia> Shall we sneak you on board?

<@Seraphna> **Talia nods** I give special wife permissions. By the old codes.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Ahhhh....yes. You may board."
<@DeathStar> *Gwen steps onto the boat, then reaches over and slams his fist onto the other boat a few times roughly, driving it into the river*
<@DeathStar> *Selena moves to the bridge and slowly gets their boat moving once up the river*
<@DeathStar> *Zayne crosses her arms* Lana

<@DeathStar> <Zayne> If Gwen is not lying and we will have to travel away from the boat to reach the spirits, we will need to come up a plan.

<@DeathStar> *Zayne nods once, then moves for the meeting hall.*

<@Seraphna> Talia> So... we may have to go over land, and every time we leave this ship, it gets torn apart and the crew gets captured.

<Jackieness> <Lana> "The Aquarius is being kept in our pocket. We don't want to show it too soon...especially since we need to treat these explorations as afirst contact situation."
<@Seraphna> Alt> Do we get big wheels? Or a blimpy? Or a jet engine?
<@DeathStar> <Gwen> The technology would have been new and it had a Creation Piece on board. I'm surprised ou all haven't been targetted more to be honest.

<@Seraphna> Alt> It's a pity we can't like, shrink the ship and carry it with us.

<@Seraphna> Talia> Well, we have trees around us to make things from. And a spirit who can shape things from rocks and trees. Probably without spending enough energy to get attention.

<@DeathStar> <Zayne> If you are going to have a spirit do something, I would two spirits in two different locations use their powers, to see if the enemy can be diverted.

<@Seraphna> Alt> Sounds good! Or Azif might have a spell to shrink the ship into a tiny bottle!
<@Seraphna> Talia> L-Let's try the simple plan first dear.

<@DeathStar> <Selena> I do recall back at the wall seeing such vehicles, yes. I only stored the bikes on the ship though
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Well, the raiders in the Badlands used motorcycles... but we don't know about inside the Wall."
<Ariel> <Nicolette> "If we acquired some wheels, Lana could make us the most conspicuous boat in all these lands, if not all of Geyze."

<@DeathStar> <Selena> Well, it shouldn't be too hard to teleport back to the Wall since our spirits know the location. The problem is will a teleport be enough of a power to alert the enemy spirit
<@Seraphna> Terra> Mine won't.
<@Seraphna> Terra> I can't actually teleport with Spirit Power at all, mine's pure hyperspace.
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...while we could set a trap and potentially free the Spirit from the bandit King's control, I am missing data points needed to prep."
<@DeathStar> <Qui> It would be nice to try to set up a trap for the spirit to blunder into
<@DeathStar> <Qui> But it would also be painful since we have no idea of their powerset
<Jackieness> <Lana> "As I said, missing data points."

<@DeathStar> *A crew member pokes their head in* <Member> We're approaching a city. *Selena stands up and heads for the bridge* <Gwen> That must be the little stronghold I mentioned. After that, your choices are to turn and start heading south west or keep going north. I advise stopping here for now and grabbing supplies for your trek over land.
<@Seraphna> Alt> We can see if wheels can be gotten!
<Jackieness> <Lana> "And information."

<@DeathStar> *Zayne seems to step outside; Gwen pats Alt's head and steps outside. Outside, the ship has found a dock; the stronghold seems to be a village with a bridge going across the river and a few watch towers set up across the river itself, to keep an eye for attackers. The village proper looks to be a decent sized city by the looks of it, but there is also something odd going on. It looks like some sort of circus or festival is going on, with tents and stuff put up outside the city proper*

<@DeathStar> *Heyu peers warily at the circus, while Wyrd looks curious*
<@Seraphna> Alt> Circus!?
<@DeathStar> <Gwen> You want to see the circus?

<@DeathStar> *Selena looks thoughtful about something while Lavenza practically vibrates on Nicolette's head*

<@DeathStar> *they are slowly led to the circus main show, where they see on stage right now the crew has a monster on stage. The villagers Ooooing at it - it appears the monster is capable of speaking, despite appearing like a vicious man eating monster type that you might come across on the fields, almost like cross between a lion nd something from Final Fantasy*

<@DeathStar> *the head of the circus, the one who took their tickets, soon gets on stage and lifts his hands up. Lana would notice their masked man is suddenly behind her once again, watching the show without warning*

<@DeathStar> <Circus Ring Leader> ... *He extends his hands and seems to form cards from thin air, then extends the cards into the air so that they seem to be floating. He then taps the cards and begins to do a card fortune telling with them* <Ring Leader> Your fortune reads as this: This village will come across an unsual event - no not us. <@DeathStar> <Zayne> The town doesn't have a whole lot like the last since they aren't robbing you blind, but they do have a lot of information at least. I simply told them about Gwen was at the circus and was curious about a few things. It appears that the regional lord for this place, Miz, his territory mostly cuts off around this point, and consists of all the territory up to the north.

<@DeathStar> <Zayne> Well, from what I understand, the regional lord has two main strong holds. The one to the north, and he has one south of us. The south stronghold is likely where Miz is - and if we want to free the realm, we'll have to deal with Miz sooner or later. So even if we ran to another regional lord's territory, Miz would still be at our back. I'll mark both locations on our map

<@DeathStar> <Selena> To be safe, I'm going to move the ship a little ways further down from the village - maybe closer to where the circus is set up down stream. That we can still go into town for supplies while we're transforming it, but not have to worry about the town doing anything

<@DeathStar> *Selena begins to do just that. Zayne shifts herself onto the railing to look down into the water quietly, ending the day much like she began it as the boat begins to move away from the village and moves down stream a bit to drop anchor not too far from the circus*
