<DeathStar> <Erevis> If it becomes necessary, we can bring the three ships in but that would just lead Nyarlathotep to use their power immediately

<DeathStar> <Nyarlathotep> If you are asking me to help move us undetected through this infested city, I can do so - to a limited degree. But the closer we get to my counter part, it will become a double edged sword if you understand what I mean
<Seraphna> **Jaime muses** I could create a sort of hyperspace aura to push this stuff away from us but I think that’ll give us away.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...then how about this...what exactly does it want? This is a bit overt compared to your usual MO, is it not?"
<DeathStar> *Ren thinks, studying the gates, which are dripping with the stuff*

<DeathStar> <Nyarlathotep> I think it's demands were pretty forthcoming
<DeathStar> <Nyarlathotep> You all essentially rejected them and are now attempting to get to the source to kill it before it can kill everyone in the city, yes? I still believe you will lose a good portion of the city doing this
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then what do you suggest?"
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Do we save more of the city by not killing it?
<DeathStar> *Nyarl shrugs* You want my advise on this?
<DeathStar> <Ren> Are we... taking advise from ... her of all people?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...who knows our opponent better than herself?"
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Know thine enemy.
<DeathStar> <Nyarl> It depends on what you are willing to risk and what you are willing to lose, children. The other me clearly wants to get their hands on this other Azif - or an Azif probably. And is willing to do anything it takes to do it. So, the question is - why? You could try to open dialogue and find out why they are going to such measures. You could offer up Azif to them and save the city and try to reclaim them later when the city is not in danger. Or you could go forward with this plan of taking the city now and know you are going to lose a good portion of the populace

<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Trying the first, even if it fails, costs us nothing more than surprise, though."
<Seraphna> Jaime> What could you use Azif to do?

<DeathStar> <Nyarl> It is a powerful book despite their appearance. It contains powerful spells within them and Azif grants the wielder access to these spells. The one cavaet is usually Azif herself cannot cast them without using up all her power, hence she is like a true book - the person holding her has to bring them forth. And she holds many, many spells. The other me probably wants these spells for some action they want to perofrm
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...and you cnanot hazard a guess as to what that action might be?"
<DeathStar> <Nyarl> Perhaps it could be used to restore herself to her former glory. But that could be attained in time as it is, so I do not see the need for rushing to get the book
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then perhaps your counterpart is threatened somehow."
<DeathStar> *Ren leans back* Well, I can only think of one thing that could threaten her then
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> A certain enemy that feeds on powerful things.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Do stop being cryptic."
<DeathStar> <Ren> The Unknown. I'm betting it being those things.
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hell, one even followed us here, after all.

<Jackieness> <Noire> "That just adds weight to having a conversation with the other one then."
<Seraphna> Jaime> So it wants to snack on Nyarl?
<DeathStar> *Erevis ponders* I wonder how fruitful this conversation will turn out to be
<DeathStar> *Erevis turns to Jaime* I imagine this enemy will want to consume all of us before the end
<DeathStar> <Erevis> But, the theory it has it's sights on Nyarl is not out of the question.
<DeathStar> *Nyarlathotep muses* I admit I am not fond of the idea of being consumed because of my counter part.

<DeathStar> <Ren> This isn't going to turn into trying to sic those things on our other enemies are we?
<DeathStar> <Erevis> For now - do we know a way to even reach out and try to contact the castle?

<DeathStar> *Sylph flutters over to the eldritch gate, waving them over*

<Seraphna> Jaime> There's the Soren Chamber and the Spirit Realm entry.
<DeathStar> <Hobo Sylph> A while back, a Corporation called Ani-Mon installed a bunch of equipment all over Geyze --- with screens and equipment to watch the news and entertainment programs. There is even some in the castle since Soren watched it too
<DeathStar> <Hobo Sylph> Maybe we can use the equipment to get in touch with the castle
<Seraphna> Jaime> Yes... the Ani-mon signal could work.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...worth a shot."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I could attempt to get Soren on the line with our pact.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I hope allowing that was not a mistake."
<DeathStar> *Hobo Sylph lifts the entire group up over the gate and into the city proper - the streets are for the most part safe to walk*
<DeathStar> *but they all look rather empty of people*
<DeathStar> <Revi> You think the entertainment industry is evil?

<Alicia> <Victoire> "I know I complain at times, but..."
<DeathStar> *Sylph floats along; signs of eldritch sludge creeping along buildings can be seen as they move toward the middle of the city where a large window with a screen showing the latest news - it looks like Kumen is reporting about the stuff going on both on Kumen and Geyze currently*
<DeathStar> *however, there seems to be an incident going on at Kumen - the news is reporting that the President is ordering civilians to stay in doors as the Magi Tower that had no power has suddenly powered up*
<DeathStar> <Ren> That doesn't sound good
<DeathStar> *the news changes to the newest magic girl show that seems to be based on Sparkling*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Focus."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "The news is like that."
<DeathStar> *Sylph focuses at the Ani-Mon station located in the city* You might can use that to see if it can reach the castle. Um, I don't remember the number
<DeathStar> *Sylph rubs cheek* Or if it has a number
<Seraphna> Jaime> That Magi tower activating might explain why Luci and some others haven't been around for a bit.
<DeathStar> *Erevis lays a hand on Jikuu's head as she steps into the station; the entire place look completely empty just like the rest of the city so far*
<DeathStar> <Revi> .... where are all the people?
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Probably in slime coccoons. Last time ours did this, she caused a kind of... slime zombie monster plague.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm..probably gathered together by the new ruler of this city."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Though Kumen was able to break it with the Spirit Towers and Tareh was able to repel it with Divine Magic.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Impressive automation, but I wonder if the magi tower activation is related."
<DeathStar> *Ren reaches out and grabs the communication system, activating it and begins to connect to Hapian Castle. At first it seems no one will answer, probably due to the fact the other Nyarl has removed all the staff, but after a bit, the team would hear a low key familiar sinister voice* ... are you reaching out to bring what I wanted?
<Seraphna> Kaelan> First, we'd like to know why you want her.
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> And why is that suddenly so important to you? Shouldn't the Queen and all her citizens be more important?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Soemthing has made you...mmmm...reckless. You are in a hurry. That is not typical of a timeless entity sucha s yourself."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> *sighs* "It is because the Queen and her citizens are important that we are asking."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> We've at times been surprised how just asking about this stuff saves everyone needless bloodshed.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Open, honest communication fixes a lot of problems."
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> .... You are correct. I am still tied to what you all did. This body I am in - and it is decaying fast, like a memory fading. And the second knife over my head is your locking of time itself. Once you reseal it from me, I will be unable to move through time again to escape from this fate. But there is a third reason. They have shown up. I need Azif to solve all three problems.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> The one who observes or the one who eats?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...the so-called Unknown."
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> That one I plan to leave this pocket dimension and leave it to their little games. I have no interest in playing with them.
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> The other though, they are a threat to everyone.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Is there a way we can mutually solve this? I simply want my daughter to be well. We all want the Unknown done with. We may not need to fight.
<DeathStar> *Ren glances at Kaelan, then at the communication system - the other Nyarl seems to pause a long time at the daughter and well comment*
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> If you care about the book so much, then you are welcome to come with me but I would require their service for sometime if I am to battle them
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...a surprisingly gregarious offer."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> This sounds like something we'd all team up to defeat.
<Seraphna> Jaime> It's not like we've found an outcome yet where we win the fight... more power might be needed.
<DeathStar> <Nyarl Prime> Then I will lower the defenses of the city and await you.
<DeathStar> *around them the sludge seems to recede*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Very well. Come on then."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Better outcome than people dying.
<DeathStar> <Nyarl> Well. So is this the part you all get in close now? *She seems to be serious, doing stab motions*
<DeathStar> <Erevis> It is an option
<DeathStar> *Sylph glances around outside, pointing at the castle as it now seems to look more normal*
<DeathStar> <Revi> That would be a bad guy thing to do, wouldn't it? *She fidgets*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> While it is an option, I'd rather team up if it means Azif won't be taken forever.
<Seraphna> Jaime> The worry should more be if she intended to do it to us once we're too deep to get away.
<Seraphna> Jaime> But this is a risk we take.
<DeathStar> <Ren> ..... Hrm
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren?"
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "How is that any different from normal?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> I'm just wondering how this will play out. I don't think our Nyarl will double cross us. Just trying to see how the future will play out since it would mean they'll get their full power back by doing this. It'll mean dealing with them again after the Unknown
<DeathStar> *as they approach the castle, Neekito and Kito are standing there waiting, looking unhappy*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Mmm, Yin and Yang.

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then we will fight that battle later, if we must."
<DeathStar> *the two turn to lead them up the castle stairs* <Kito> Sasha and THAT are waiting for you in the throne room.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...hopefully they will be gone once we are done here."
<DeathStar> *as they walk up the stairs, suddenly the castle shakes, as if something major has occurred upstairs, and the eldritch sludge fades from Neekito and Kito's faces and from along the castle walls*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ...what the hell?
<DeathStar> <Erevis> ... something just happened
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Something."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Come." *starts moving quickly up the stairs to the throne room*
<DeathStar> *Neekito and Kito hurry up to the throne room where they would find an odd looking Ren standing there, a trident speared into John's body, eldritch energy pouring out of him. Sasha would also be in the room and the entire throne room looks to be in a mess, as if a brief fight just occurred in here. As they enter, the Ren person turns and spots Nyarl and narrows their eyes*

<Seraphna> Kaelan> REN my dear you are looking very… not you today.
<DeathStar> <Ren> That is totally not me.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "..obviosly..." *glancwes at their Nyarl* "...care to explain?"
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Indeed a Trident? You’re more of a Guisarme girl.

<Seraphna> Kaelan> Isn’t that the one that gets mistaken for a Tuatha’de’danan?

<DeathStar> *Nodens yanks the spear out of John's body and turns to them, pointing it at them* Why are you so friendly with that thing?
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I half expected an actual silver hand.
<Seraphna> Jaime> Temporary alliance to kill the Unknown. Mostly.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "With the current crisis dealt with, I trust that further damage to my relam might be avoided." *moves to sit back on her throne*
<DeathStar> *Nodens brushes back a lock of dark and white hair* No good comes from allying with that. You will poison your souls. You need to destroy it and it's tools right now. *it seems to point the triden right at Kaelan's tails*

<Seraphna> Kaelan> I’ll not be allowing the slaughter of children.

<Seraphna> Jaime> I believe customarily we call it Bob.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> Many would jump at the chance to name a race
<DeathStar> *Erevis turns to Jaime slowly*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...this is getting annoying."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I thought they would already have one. If not, Eater works, even if Yoiyami would possibly be offended at being compared to them."

<DeathStar> *Noden seems to be .... completely put off at them ignoring his warning*

<DeathStar> *they turn and begin to walk toward the damaged balcony* I do not know what this "Unknown" or "Eater" is

<DeathStar> <Nyarlathotep> I lack any knowledge of this Eater or Unknown race. I imagine dear Nodens does too. I believe it was deleted from our memory once we were put into this pocket reality by well... whoever copied it. *she kneels* I imagine only my counter part had the true knowledge

<DeathStar> <Nyarl> I have no idea the identity of who put us here too. I imagine they had an idea though
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Well the thing moving everything and everyone about would be this Watcher.
<DeathStar> *Ren checks John's wrist* There is a slight pulse. <Nodens> It belongs to the true body, not that thing.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...go and assist John. Now."
<Alicia> * Jikuu rushes over. "Medic!"
<Seraphna> **Jaime nods and tosses Jikuu a PAX Medipack**
<Alicia> * Jikuu does her best first aid on John, which may not be the best, but is adequate
<DeathStar> *John, despite his very ancient body, does at least seem to be sturdy, and managed to stablize*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan uses Soren Spirit Magick to heal him**
<DeathStar> <Nyarl> Hm...... *she seems to be debating something, eyeing Nodens watching them*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Can’t do anything about the age.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "You may use our guest quarters to let your friend recuperate."
<DeathStar> *Erevis examines John, while Revi watches all this*

<Seraphna> Jaime> Nodens, would you fight the shark?
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Kito, Neekito. Go and check on everyone make sure they are free and well."

<DeathStar> *Nodens pauses, then their tails swish in annoyance*
<Seraphna> Jaime> The Unknown is ravaging our reality at least.

<Seraphna> Jaime> It is the shark.
<Alicia> <Victoire> "Well, you were the one who brought up the shark in the first place."
<DeathStar> <Nodens> I see. I would aid you yes, but only after I finish with the threats that are located here. Once that is done, I would be honored to assist.

<DeathStar> <Nyarl> As you can see, I do not imagine it to be a popular option if you consider it
<Seraphna> Jaime> Then stay your blade with Nyarl at least till after it. Consider it a priority issue. I doubt our team up will last past it any way.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...not popular at all. While your offer is the pragmatic choice, I am inclined to let this one die as himself on his own terms."

<DeathStar> <Nyarl> There are a few reasons. *she studies Noire* I seed chaos, currently it is obvious to me a great force has sealed away things and is currently playing around with everything and everyone. This makes this world's heroes my allies. I will see them succeed in freeing this world from whatever it is' grasp
<DeathStar> <Ren> And I am guessing once that happens, you'll go back to your old ways

<DeathStar> *as they head westward, the ship soon approaches the snowy fields of the Magi Academy and Tower; oddly enough, things look to be hectic down there as people run around and the Tower looks to be on standby mode like it's being charged up*

<DeathStar> <Ren> Is this in response to the tower on Kumen?
<DeathStar> *Seniga brings them down to land*
<DeathStar> *students seem to be running around*
<DeathStar> <Sylph> Sylph thinks finding a mage will be easy. We should just grab one
<DeathStar> *Sylph grabs one that looks a lot like Ellie and holds onto her*

<DeathStar> <Erevis> If I remember correct, these towers have the power to do severe damage to the planet.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...yes. Meanwhile, the Draiocht and the two Aquarii should join it and prepare to intervene on Kumen if we determine that is necessary."

<DeathStar> *Ren hurries up to the tower, with Revis and Erevis following behind; Sylph just flies up to it, leaving them all in the dust*
<Seraphna> Jaime> How does a Magi Tower on Kumen activate without Mana?
<DeathStar> <Ren> I'd have to guess that mana was transferred there
<DeathStar> <Ren> Somehow
<Jackieness> <Noire> "That Magic Emperor being that came for your adopted book perhaps."
<DeathStar> <Erevis> Perhaps, but if he could do that, why target the other tower, and not the location where Azif was located?
<DeathStar> *as they reach the tower, Celine can be seen on communications with Asarar and company*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I do not know...but there are a great many unknowns at play."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We are trying to get on scene now. Our sources are indicating that he is trying to play quiet, but I do not think he had a hand in this one.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> His forces are moving out as well as ours
<Seraphna> Jaime> Any version of Sparking around to misalign the planets?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then who? An accident? Someone pressing the ON button and the weapon on Kumen resuming its last orders?"
<DeathStar> <Erevis> If I recall, this is Sparkling's main reality, is it not?
<DeathStar> <Erevis> She should be in her prime
<DeathStar> *Celine muses* It is possible the last order of that tower was to attack Geyze. There is so much we do not know yet. But the question is who powered it up and gave it mana
