<DeathStar> *Isis comes back out with a large tray of food and goes to lift the cover off, revealing Ren underneath it, eating the food there already* <Isis> ....
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki follows out after Isis, assisting her wife in setting for their guests...then groans at Ren
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> You!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren, I thought you had reformed."
<DeathStar> *Ren jerks, and tries to leap off in her fox form*
<Chaintan> ^the Nue legion swarm Ren
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... *cups her hands together* It seems every now and then she has these set backs and tries to consume everything around her for a day or two

<DeathStar> <Taiga> I think the "dieting" makes her ravaged beast
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...I would prefer her to be constantly nibbling than these sudden, inopportune binges."

<Chaintan> <Miyuki> and she decides to go into her locus mode in MY house
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> the last time this happened, she quite literally camped out in our fridge

<DeathStar> *Ren soon manages to make it back to the table, head down* <Ren> S-Sorry
<DeathStar> *Isis looks at Ren with 'that' look, setting out secondary dishes*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "If more dishes need to be prepared, I am an adequate chef myself."
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> just...try? Ok Ren? 6*she rubs the top of her head and moves back after Isis
<DeathStar> *Ren nods* Okay. I'm willing to steal some legendary treasures if you want . Tie Kaori up and bring her to the next family dinner.
<DeathStar> *Isis shakes her head at Noire* You are our guests; relax. *She finishes setting everything up; Fox Mask lifts her mask up, and the Erevis clone looks over the various foods in awe*

<DeathStar> <Ren> Since Noire and Isis both like to cook.... You two should enter this! *she sets down a paper on the table*

<DeathStar> *it looks like a magical competition based on an old children's show called Food Wars where the contestants battle via cooking. It doesn't outright state where the magic comes in yet* <Ren> I can be a food tester. <Isis> ... I am highly suspicious
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...I sense that your motives in this are impure, Ren."
<DeathStar> *Erevis quietly snacks, watching them while Ren gasps at the idea, her ears going down* <Ren> I just think you could win the competition!

<Chaintan> <Miyuki> You know Ren, being a taster in the competition means you do have to eat what you dont like as well

<Chaintan> <Miyuki> sometimes, I wouldnt say theyre going to give you food poisioning, but it might not be your preference. Buuuuut they could do it where they have 'heels' , just depends on the angle they want

<DeathStar> *Taiga shows Noire the fine print of the magic being laced into the contestant's clothes - the winner is decided by making the best dish that everyone goes so ga ga over that the magic activates and declothes them*

<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Well, you know, running a bunch of spy organizations for years and years have tapped most of my funds. Angela's got her money so it's not like I'm hurting and Chad has his. Plus I know Taiga has her own and so does Ren, so it's not like the Mizukazes are flat out broke.

<DeathStar> <Shion> I have so many things going through my mind now and tricks I'd like to play, but --- I heard about this place you might like to check out. Heck, might can check it out together. I heard there's this creepy holovid theater that people have been going missing at.

<DeathStar> *Cheryl finishes her meal and begins to show Isis pictures of her bird*
<DeathStar> <Isis> ... something tells me I would not mind going out to this theater suddenly
<DeathStar> *Erevis puts her mask back on*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...I suppose it is worth seeing ofr ourselves."

<DeathStar> *Shion hops up and gets ready* I'll lead you there then.
<DeathStar> *Cheryl plays a video clip: The bird begins to talk and says Miyuki's name*

<DeathStar> <Isis> Lets go. It could be a nice diversion to go with our daughter; plus if there are any places that are selling animals along the way, Cheryl might go backrupt
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> we might need to hire the kids to just...do background checks on where Cheryl is getting them. Last thing we need is her getting arrested
<DeathStar> <Isis> We should - last thing we need is to start adding Famfrits and Kitsune to the zoo

<DeathStar> *Shion stops them in front of what looks to be an ancient theater that looks to have been a stage type theater before being remodeled to accomodate holovids*
<DeathStar> <Shion> This is the area where people have begun to go missing. *Ren cranes he head back - the theater property looks to be very large - the building raising above them like something out of a Batman flick*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki>...great it'll probably start raining any moment now
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki fishes in her tail for umbrellas
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...a 20th century movie palace?"
<DeathStar> *lightning flashes in the sky - and a figure can be seen up top near the statues around the bell tower*
<DeathStar> <Shion> Oh great, now my hair is probably going to get wet
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Art Deco...that fits the period of movie palaces."
<DeathStar> <Ren> What's a movie palace?
<DeathStar> <Fox Mask> Did kings have movies inside them?
<DeathStar> *Shion uses fox fire to break the lock on the side*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm....in the early days of film, they built large palatial theaters, initially to attract movie goers, but it eventually became a contest to build the largets, most elaborate theater."
<DeathStar> <Fox Mask> Fascinating
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> then it got weird
<DeathStar> <Fox Mask> Even stranger? How so?
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> lobbies use to have arcades, games to play to pass time till you could be seated for your movie, but to out do the competition they added things like bars, bowling allies, some even had fake bucking broncos and ziplines
<DeathStar> *before the fancy new tech was put in to show holovids on the screen, one can still see the skeleton layout of what was the original room lays outs of the theater: the arcade room now has the up to date games and all that, now the refreshment area has the latest foods and all that*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Regardless, we are here at this particular theater. It is either a movie palace or built in the style of one."
<DeathStar> *the employee area seems to be in the back. Fox Mask looks aound the empty theater - it looks like this place hasn't been used in a long time*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "The place looks abandoned, and yet the lobby and concessions are current."
<DeathStar> <Shion> Fro mwhat I understand
<DeathStar> <Shion> The place is closing down due to people going missing in and around the building
<DeathStar> <Shion> It's gaining a reputation. That if you stay here late - you vanish
<DeathStar> *Fox Mask tries to figure out how to get something showing on the screens*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> is there anywhere specific that people are dissapearing?
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> bathrooms, by concession?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...during the witching hour?"
<DeathStar> <Shion> Well , this is second hand knowledge - but employee area and behind the building near the trash. Come on. *she leads them to the employee area, then opens a door into the back alley where dumpsters are located*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It all looks quite normal to me
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki peeks around
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> back alley makes sense, especially if they dont have security to monitor. Plus with coming and going rounds for restocking and such, no one is going to think twice seeing anyone back there
<DeathStar> *the back alley looks very dark - the lights having been burt out. There's a wooden fence between the theater and some creepy house next door, with a single broken fence board in the fence that is big enough to push into the yard next door. The alley looks grungy and wrong*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> and an even creepier place next door
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...the house is suspect."
<DeathStar> <Ren> You thinking maybe people are just getting snatched? Mundane but simple enough. *She looks up at the creepy tower at the top of the theater* I'll check to see if there is a way up there in the meantime
<DeathStar> *she poofsinto a fox and heads back in*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Someone go with Ren."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Hold on then. *She moves over to the fence board and pushes on it to look into the yard; it is overgrown, as if whoever owns it does not cut their grass. With a single dog house and something inside it, with glowing eyes facing them*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> think you could back her up Noire?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'll do it
<DeathStar> *Taiga poofs after Ren*
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki bristles as Cheryl goes next door and stomps after
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> hey! we have to stick together
<DeathStar> *The house itself looks to be two stories and in major disrepair*
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Sorry, was just taking a look
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I'll search the alley for clues." *taps her glasses* "Dark One."
<DeathStar> *Cheryl rubs her eyes and seems to whisper something to someone beside her as Isis joins Miyuki*
<DeathStar> *Shion walks with Noire along the alley*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> pollen?
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves around to look for said clues*
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Ah, no. Eye sight isn't what it used to be. *She motions and Freyja appears from the shadows* <Cheryl> I rely on her and Chii for sight more than I care to admit.
<DeathStar> *Shion leans in toward Noire* So, being a Dark One, do you have night vision?
<DeathStar> *she seems to be teasing her*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...it is implied, yes."
<DeathStar> <Shion> That's good. *her own eyes seem to flash a bit, as foxes have excellent night vision*
<DeathStar> *The two move around the alley and as they near te fence, Noire and Shion both would spot what looks to be a woman's lipstick dropped near it*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves forward to examine the lipstick*
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki crosses her arms1 <Miyuki> Not sure im liking how many new secrets im learning about you
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Ha ha ha. Well. You know. I might have left out a major thing since I didn't want to worry you and Angela and the kids
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> now its two things
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Well, first off. I am getting healthier, so I might reach a point this isn't necessary anymore. Keep that in mind. I've had to rely on Chii and Freyja's fox gift - the marble thing? - to keep me going for a while now. I'm just now as spry as I used to be

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm..." *picks up the lipstick*
<DeathStar> *Shion looks it over* You think it is something important? *the lipstick looks opened asif someone was using it*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Note that the lipstick appears to have been dropped as it was being applied."
<DeathStar> *Isis looks through and studies the thing in the dog house, the house itself; a single upstairs light seems to be on*
<DeathStar> <Shion> It does seem that way
<DeathStar> *She returns to Miyuki*
<DeathStar> <Shion> There might be reason to sneak over and take a look at the neighbor
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki nods to Cheryl, having to table their conversation for the moment before flicking her ears towards Shion
<Jackieness> <Noire> *nods as she closes the lipstick and then points a finger, opening a shadowport right through the fence*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> it also might be how the missing are enticed over
<DeathStar> *Cheryl begins to creep into the yard and works her way to the house; there also appears to be what looks to be a set of cellar doors, but a chain and pad lock keeps them sealed*
<DeathStar> *Shion and Isis use the shadowport to go past the fence*
<Chaintan> * She passes into the yard and looks at the dog house
<Jackieness> <Noire> *walks through*
<DeathStar> *an outrageously large beast of a dog begins to emerge*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> woah!
<DeathStar> *it begins to walk toward them; Cheryl hopping onto the back porch*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> you friendly? or just trying to do youre job there big guy
<DeathStar> *the beast dog begins to charge at them when it's yanked back by it's collar and leash, leading to it growling and eyeing them* <Shion> That thing would eat me whole
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> ... I totally want it
<DeathStar> *Freyja stares*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...it probably smelled your menagerie, Cheryl. We have business first, though."
<DeathStar> *Shion tries the back door* <Shion> Locked
<DeathStar> <Fox Mask> Should I open it?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Let us be subtle." *opens a small shadowport in the middle of the door then reaches in to try to unlock it*
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki head tilts and gives a sniff
<Chaintan> <Miyuki>...a dog this big could eat someone unfortunate enough
<DeathStar> *the door slowly opens up; inside the house is a quaint kitchen that you would find in any home. There are pictures of an old man all over the place with various people - grandkids, a wife, throughout his life. Judging by the clutter around the place and flith piling up, it's not being taken care of now. The kitchen area they stand in there's a pot of soup bubbling giving off a terrible smell and there are dirty dishes all over the place with crud all over them that looks questionable. *
<DeathStar> *Freyja practically upheaves in the corner when the smell hits them*
<DeathStar> *The Priestess recoiling back*
<DeathStar> <Shion> .... *covers her hand with her sleeve from her kimono and Isis makes a displeased face; Fox Mask remains unreadable thanks to the mask Erevis wears*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...there was a light upstairs."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Probably the owner of the house.
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki grimaces, even as far back as she is, mimicing Shion she also brings her sleeve up to shield her nose and investigate inside
<DeathStar> *she lifts the soup lid up and eyes what is inside* <Cheryl> .... you do not want to see this
<DeathStar> *She closes it*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> what was irt
<Chaintan> it^
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Eyes. I think the meat might be human
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...the victims, I imagine. Be on your guard."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> There may have been bone too
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki goes to check other places in the kitchen
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I imagien we'll find more in the cellar...but first..." *moves to check the next room*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> how many have gone missing again, and how long between them?>
<DeathStar> *Miyuki would find various questionable meats in the fridge, all wrapped up*
<DeathStar> <Shion> Um, well. *she thinks* It managed to gain a reputation - I think at first from what I read, one every few years, then it began to become more of a thing recently until no one was willing to work or come here
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Pull out your pad and bring up anything you can about this house."
<DeathStar> *Shion begins to work on it; Noire owuld find the cellar locked as she goes to check on it.*
<DeathStar> *it seems someone really wants it locked down*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Locked...not a surprise... I think there may be living victims imprisoned down there."
<DeathStar> *Isis peers out the window* <Isis> That is odd.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What is odd?"
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> ok, so obviously enough time to consume anyone they--- whats odd?
<DeathStar> <Shion> The theater has been closed a few months. If someone is down there, they would.. *She looks over and Isis points. It appears as if there are figures up top of the theater, running around the top and being chased by someone*
<DeathStar> *And a moment later a statue can be seen falling*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...Ren and Taiga."
<DeathStar> <Fox Mask> I thought the killer was upstairs
<DeathStar> *she turns to look up the stairs*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> distractions
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki opens a fox hole for them
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Split up. Unseal the cellar and look for survivors. I'm going upstairs. Erevis, with me."
<DeathStar> *Ren and Taiga suddenly fall through the hole. Behind them, someone wearing what looks to be a mask like you might find in a halloween store lumbers forward trying to get to them*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> They came out of nowhere and tried to jab a needle in us
<DeathStar> <Ren> The ghost is still coming!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm? They are likely plannign to eat you."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Wait, WHAT?
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki closes the hole
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> the smell will hit you in a second
<DeathStar> *Isis peers out the window* <Isis> Yep that pissed them off. They seem to be circling the top in a rage.
<DeathStar> *Ren sits up and makes a face, her ears curling downward
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Keep a bead on the masked killer if you can. Let's check here first." *starts up the stairs*
<DeathStar> *Fox Mask follows Noire upstairs*
<Chaintan> <Miyuki> Shion, the lock?
<DeathStar> *Shion aims her hand at the lock and a moment later it explodes in foxfire*
<DeathStar> *Ren eyes the pot of soup and gags at what she sees*
<DeathStar> <Ren> The travesty done to this
<DeathStar> <Ren> It's like something out of the Temple of Doom
<Chaintan> 6*Miyuki pats her daughter before going into fox form and pressing the basement door open, peeking in
<Jackieness> <Noire> *looks around as they reach the upper level*
<DeathStar> *The upper floor seems to be in just as bad of shape with garbage and pots of food all over the place; tthere are a few bedrooms and they seem to be completely filled with junk except one bedroom seems ot be in use and then there's the master bedroom where the light is on. An old man is laying there, the one in the pictures, looking weak and frail*
<DeathStar> *as the other go down into the cellar, they have a girl swing a bat at them, and try to flee past them*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *checks the other used bedroom*
<DeathStar> *Miyuki gets whapped by the bat and goes down*
<DeathStar> <Isis> .... *kneels to tend to her*
<DeathStar> *The other bedroom looks to be in use - by one of the grandkids. His stuff is all over the place and there are tons of movie posters, horror especiially*
<DeathStar> *Cheryl grunts by Noire while Ren looks around the room*
<DeathStar> *Shion tries to grab the girl but she's already running outside*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...this is likely the killer's room."
<DeathStar> *Freyja appears beside Noire* One of the victims has escaped and is running right for where the killer was last seen
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Call emergency services here. I'll go to intercept." *opens a shadowport to go to the yard*
<DeathStar> *Freyja heads out*
<DeathStar> *Cheryl, Ren, and Taiga head outside where Shion is standing there; the killer standing in front of her, the victim having been tossed to the side*
<DeathStar> *he apprroaches, wearing something akin to a Scream mask*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *emerges several steps behind the killer* "Mmmmmm...so you like scary movies, do you?"
<DeathStar> <Killer> .... *pauses, then turns toward Noire slowly, holding what looks to be a hatchet, then sizes Noire up. He looks like a tall boy, at about 6'4. And bulky like he goes to the gym.*
<DeathStar> *The Killer then begins to step forward, reaching for ---- Taiga since she is the shortest of them, bending over to swipe at her*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *barely moves one finger, conjuring a dark Arm to try to grab the killer's arm*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm? He clearly thinks he's the antagonist of a slasher horror film. Its a game for him...but maybe if he were to experience what his victims feel like.... maybe he might learn soem empathy, mmmmmm?"
