<Sera> * Si tosses her hair a bit and moves to follow. Cookie shrugs.
<DeathStar> *he motions and waves them inside the mansion, leading them into a large guest room. Airym would pick up nothing unusual, other than a few maids here and there*
<Sara> * Erica walks in her best rich girl polite way
<ChadWinters> 6Cel follows along, her hands behind her back as she peers at the inside. 1"This is quite the fancy place."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina ooohs, peering here and there at things, all wide eyed again through her glasses, having put her hair in a ponytail for the hat. She marvels at a statue, dishes here and there, and in the guest room a couch with a few things for the guests to marvel at, such trophies, marble statues, and other thigns*
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper shifts, hair pulled back into a ponytail with large lens sunglasses resting on her forehead. She squints slightly at the butler and walks along with the others.

<Sara> * She notes matter-of-factly
<Sara> <Erica> Still, quite nice

<Sera> * Si walks with an air where she's totally at home in such a huge house then again she grew up the daughter of a President. Cookie meanwhile shifts a bit, trying not to look out of sorts.

<DeathStar> *Yuki takes a seat and a maid brings some snacks out. The butler heads off and a bit later a slightly pudgey man comes in, sweaty nervously as he eyes the group, dabbing at his forehead. He wears a nice suit as he takes a seat himself*

<DeathStar> *Sabrina sits down and looks all proper and peers at the man, who licks his lips nervously, perhaps wondering what the group wants from him*
<DeathStar> <Man> Ah... Hello. *he notes, rubbing his hands together* You wanted to see me? *He tries to not mention last night*
<Xanatos> <Pepper> You okay? You look...parched. We can wait till you get a drink.
<Sera> * Cookie muses and decides to listen to his thoughts, seeing as he's probably internally screaming.
<DeathStar> <Man> Ah. That is a good idea. *He takes whiskey from the maid and drinks a rather large gulp*
<Sara> * Erica eyes the whiskey bottle
<DeathStar> *Cookie would likely hear nervousness - what do they want, are they connected to the corporation, the cartel, and so on*
<DeathStar> *The maid pauses, then pours Erica a cup*
<Sara> * Erica shrugs and takes a small sip to start with. She looks to Yuki

<Sera> * Cookie to the others. <He seems to have no idea who we actually are besides last night.>
<DeathStar> *Yuki studies the man and leans forward, thinking on how to phrase it as not to scare the man off*
<DeathStar> <Man> Ah-hah... *he eyes Cel as if she is messing with him, then finishes the drink* Agitated...
<Sera> Cookie> "Of course, he had a very traumatic experience yesterday."
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Last night, we saved you all because we wish to stop the people who tried to replace you all. They are ... a bad group. I won't say more because it's complicated
<DeathStar> <Yuki> But we are hoping you could give us some information about Jarivan in general
<DeathStar> *the man eyes them, then waves the maid out - after taking the bottle* Replace? That was what was going on last night? Ha...
<Sara> <Erica> These people get rid of important people and replace them with ... duplicates, to take their position
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Think like...clones...but with their own agency and goals. Not preprogrammed.

<DeathStar> <Man> ... *He looks overwhelmed by all that and downs the bottle*

<DeathStar> *Sabrina takes the man's hand and squeezes, then smiles*

<DeathStar> *Sabrina whispers something in his ear and nods at Si, and the man lifts his head up. Sabrina nods knowingly and pats his back* <Man> I guess you are right

<DeathStar> <Man> You were wanting to know what?
<DeathStar> <Yuki> We are wanting to know information about Jarivan. How the politics works, how it is connected to the Cartel, who runs it
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Who might be replaced
<DeathStar> <Man> Jarivan mostly stands alone, on the books, as a front to look legit for the Cartel
<DeathStar> <Man> A lot of the planets do, on the surface.
<Sara> <Erica> So it's basically part of their "public end" to make them look good?
<DeathStar> <Man> Right. The outer planets like Jarivan are the public end and Jarivan is the most famous. The inner planets, the original planets, is where the true Cartel is at. Many of the original planets cannot even be found anymore due to bookkeeping and moving the Cartel homeworld around a bit
<DeathStar> <Man> And the fact the Cartel as an organization can move about if needbe when doing business
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Has anyone acted odd or erratic lately? Outside of the norm that you're used too?
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Makes it hard to get rid of them since it makes it difficult to pin them down to any set area.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Hm. <Man> As for Jarivan, a Cartel representative by this name is likely the true power. He stays out of the politics but he lets us know and the corporations. *he writes a name down* Basically, he gives his thumbs up and down to the corporations, and the most powerful infuence us
<DeathStar> <Man> Until tonight, no.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> So either this man has been replaced, or he might know where our corporation guy on Jarivan is
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Do you have somewhere safe you can go?
<DeathStar> <Man> .. yeah. Yeah sure. *He rises and moves off*
<Sara> <Erica> He didn't -sound- sure.
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Is that name one that any of us recognize?
<DeathStar> <Yuki> *eyes the name* Nope
<Sera> * Si fuus. "So... we got what we needed then?"
<Sera> * Si peeks at the name.

<Jackieness> <Airym> "It is likely they keep the real power holders in the Cartel out of the public eye."

<DeathStar> *It seems to be some random, no name. Likely just a contact. Probably not even to one of the people like Loki. Probably a contact to someone like Shiva's helper's helper*
<DeathStar> <Yuki> I'll let mom know once we reach the van
<Sera> Si> Probably a patsy, but we'll see.

<Xanatos> <Pepper> I need to invent a shrinking gun so I can jsut steal giant mansions like this. 6* She muses aloud, before standing and being ready to leave.

<DeathStar> *by now it's noonish going on afternoonish*
<Sera> Cookie> I can always see if Mom made one. Or her lab partner.

<DeathStar> *Sabrina sits in her seat and Yuki sits down, pulling up the comm, telling Taiga what they got.* <Taiga> That's good, but I got something else

<DeathStar> <Taiga> They decided to go to her club to wait on her but then one of Lorelei's kids ran off - probably to find Dusk alone
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Fun news, it seems Dusk is a vampire and her god side comed out a night

<Xanatos> 6* Pepper whistles and slides out of the van, pulling on some gloves.

<DeathStar> *Yuki moves up toward the front door, letting Pepper knock. Theer is no answer*
<Sera> * Cookie and Si get out with the others and moves over. Cookie then reaches out to sense any active thoughts in the house.

<DeathStar> *Sabrina wanders around toward the back where there's a porch and glass door*

<Sera> Cookie> I"m not sensing any minds in there.
<Jackieness> <Airym> *runs her scanners across the beahchouse*
<Sera> Cookie> Of course that doesn't cover shielding...
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper glances to Cookie then reaches out to open the door.

<Sera> Cookie> "Maybe they're not home?"
<DeathStar> *Airym would detect something inside*
<Jackieness> <Airym> "There is deifnitely soemthing inside that I cannot immediately identify."
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper glances to Yuki then moves to circle the house, looking for another entrrance or exit.

<ChadWinters> 6Cel moves up to Sabrina's side, peering inside.
<DeathStar> *Cel would see something laying on the floor but the shadows are obscuring it*
<DeathStar> *The door is locked, but it is a glass door, it won't offer much resistance*
<Sara> <Erica> I mean we -could- smash it... thoughts? Options?
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Somethings on the floor. 6She taps her comm, letting Yuki and the ones in front know.
<ChadWinters> 6Cel kneels down, eyeing the door lock
<Sera> * Cookie checks under the mat and around for a key.
<DeathStar> *Yuki moves to the back. Sabrina eyes a potted cactus, a welcome mat, and one of those pictures with a phrase over the door. The lock is a simple one*
<DeathStar> *the mat has dust. Cookie auto-coughs*
<DeathStar> <Yuki> I mean we could claim there is an emergency I guess
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper comes back around to Cookie and sticks her finger to the lock.
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Just tell me when. 6* She says into her comm.
<ChadWinters> 6Cel reaches behind her hair and pulls out a hair pin and bends it. Then goes to try and looks at Pepper. 1"That's convenient.

<Xanatos> 6* Peppers used her shapeshifter stuff to slide her finger in and undo the lock.
<ChadWinters> 6Cel stands up, putting her hand on her blade hilt
<Sera> Cookie> "She's with me." *she grins*
<DeathStar> *Yuki slides it open. Sabrina moves to the body. The body -- is the corporation leady, the shapeshifter body gooying up and melting slowly. Likely in an hour it will be a puddle*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> .... ew
<Sara> <Erica> Ew is right. Wonder what happened here.
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper glances around for any interior cameras, but doubts they're here.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> .... *she scans the room and turns the light on. There's the sound of movement in the back rooms*
<Sara> * Erica gives a gesture for a couple people to check it out
<ChadWinters> 6Cel pauses at the noise, and motions. She pulls one of her blades out and starts moving towards it
<Jackieness> <Airym> *scans the shapeshifter's body*
<Sera> Cookie> "Someone got here first..."
<DeathStar> *Yuki forms her gloves and moves to the back rooms. Sabrina forms her magical girl outfit with the wand, walking toward it*
<Sera> * Cookie extends her awareness out as a caution and forms a gun. Si peers about, fixing her gloves.
<Jackieness> <Airym> "I will gather data while you investigate the intruders who are not us."
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper leans by the door, waiting in case they escape.
<kalonZombee> 6*Gor elects to stay outside because he sees the "body" and almost throws up
<DeathStar> *As they around the corner, they get a gun in the face, their cartel guy standing in the back room by a window*
<DeathStar> <Man> ... *he pauses, eyeing them all*
<ChadWinters> 6Cel stays still, not moving with the gun pointed towards her face. 1"Are you.."6She says his name
<Sara> * Erica meanwhile folds some cloth over the body, trying to prevent anyone having to look at it for now
<Sera> * Cookie sets herself up just out of sight, Si fuuing.
<DeathStar> <Man> Depends on who is asking. <Yuki> We are told you are the Cartel contact here who has the true power here. We came to see if you have been compromised yet by that thing. <Man> And what is that thing?
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Hangs back, quietly holding her wand, eyes closed*

<Xanatos> 6* Pepper lets out a yawn, rubbing her temples, mumbling about her headache coming back.
<DeathStar> *The man pauses, then lowers his gun*

<Sara> * Erica follows along, keeping her eyes sharp
<Xanatos> <Pepper> How'd you know to kill it? 6* She asks, gesturing to the covered up body when they all come back into that area.
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Do you think any of your higher ups have been compromised?
<Sara> <Erica> Oi oi, one at a time, guys.
<DeathStar> <Man> I didn't. I just got lucky and fired my strongest gun at it's head.
<DeathStar> (Oh mis-read that)
<DeathStar> <Man> Well, when it turns into that thing and tries to jump you, you fire
<Sara> <Erica> That's a very reasonable reaction that I wish more people had to these things
<DeathStar> <Man> As for higher-ups, I have no idea
<DeathStar> *he sits and marks planets that he heard rumors. Sabrina moves out to where Airym is, sitting down*
<Sara> <Erica> At this point mate, you can be sure they'll keep trying for your life. I suggest resigning and taking a very long vacation somewhere far away from all of this. But for now, tell us all you know, and we'll do what we can.
<Jackieness> <Airym> *looks over at Sabrina* "I have gathered all the data that I can from the remains."
<Sera> Si> I have another question that might be related to all this... what's the Cartel's interest in the Maka?
<DeathStar> <Yuki> *Sabrina blanches* From that evil thing? *she eyes it* Can I tell you something?
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Well I imagine if there was any drastic changes to the way they operate, they'd be discovered quicker
<Jackieness> <Airym> "Yes?"
<DeathStar> <Man> Fair enough. I'll ... see what I can do about going into hiding for now. As for the Maka, I know a few in the Cartel are interested in the Geyze spirits and maka powers, but other than that, nothing beyond a concept project. <Yuki> ... might be the shapeshifters are interested in the MAka for their own gain
<DeathStar> *Sabrina leans in and eyes her wand, and whispers*
<ChadWinters> <Cel> That and they seem to be able to sense them since their nature seems to be evil.
<Sera> Si> If it's the Shapeshifters, than from what we've learned so far their infiltration is pretty bad.
<Sera> Si> Considering the search parties and technology to disrupt them in place here.
<Jackieness> <Airym> *tilts her head and then nods, running a scan over Sabrina's wand*
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Ah everyone has their bad days.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> ... yeah. If they manage to shapeshifter a Maka, that'd be bad
<DeathStar> *The man sits, going over each planet with Erica and Yuki, explaing what the rumors are about*

<DeathStar> <Sabrina> ... it must be just my imagination then... *she lets out a breath*
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Well we have a direction now.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> You found a lead then for when we leave Jarivan?
<Sera> Si> Fuuu. The tracks of the pod people are strong.
<ChadWinters> 6Cel nods to Taiga, motioning to Erika and Yuki
<Xanatos> <Pepper> A bunch of leads I think. He was chatty.
<DeathStar> *Yuki walks over to the van as the man moves to get to his car*
<ChadWinters> 6Cel keeps an eye on the man as she moves to their van
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Well, that's good. So there was no problems?
<Sara> * Erica ponders as she stands by the van
<DeathStar> *As the car drives off, Sabrina lets a breath out and finally relaxes, mumbling*
<Jackieness> <Airym> *looks at Sabrina* "Do you wish to wanr the others about what you sense?"
<Xanatos> <Pepper> No, not really. Something feels weird though.
<Xanatos> <Pepper> But I think that's because it went so smoothly.
<Xanatos> <Pepper> I expect death at every turn with you people.
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> I-I'm sure it's nothing but if you want to tell them you can
<Sera> Cookie> "It's a regular thing with us."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina peers to the side, going back to her civies
<Jackieness> <Airym> "Taiga, Sabrina sensed that the Cartel contact was not of good character."
<Sara> * Erica thinks to herself, 'perish the thought'
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Would you consider anyone that works for the Cartel of good character?
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> I don't really feel that kind of evil in people. If that was the case I would never be able to walk down the street
<ChadWinters> <Cel> I see. And of me? 6She looks at Sabrina a bit with curiousity.
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It has to be like true evil. But it was so muted it felt like nothing too. Like a tingling
<Sera> Si> Well, you know what they say, there's no greater evil than business.'
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Wait, are we sure he wasn't a shapeshifter too?
<Sara> <Erica> We're not sure.
<Sara> * She admits
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It didn't feel like the others, that blared to me. It's why I felt like I was misjudging him for some reason
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Sabrina seems to be the only one that can detect them currently. 6She looks over at Pepper
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... Alright, where you met the guy, did anything stand out?
<Sera> Si> There was a dead shapeshifter already there.
<Sera> Cookie> I couldn't sense his thoughts at all.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Really?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> And how did he manage that when we all struggled
<Sera> * Si nods. "Said he killed it when it was changing. It was goopy and everything."
<ChadWinters> <Cel> We assume it was a dead shapeshifter. We don't know what happens during the transformation process.
<Xanatos> 6* Pepper tchs
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Both the doors were locked.
<Sara> <Erica> The thought occurs that the corpse could be a sacrifice to convince us, if he is one of them
<Xanatos> <Pepper> No way he ran to the lock the doors after killing something like that.
<Sera> Cookie> "The goopy thing could have been the real one..."
<Sera> Cookie> "Maybe doused with acid."
<Xanatos> <Pepper> And they found him in the back trying to go out the window, or giving the illusion of that at least.
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Or the husk of it. 6She crosses her arms. 1"Could've been locked before we got there.
<Jackieness> <Airym> "My scans suggested it was indeed a dead shapeshifter."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> So he killed a shapeshifter. Still, pretty hard
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Didn't have any wounds on himself.
<ChadWinters> <Cel> Maybe he's a lot stronger of a Cartel member than he let on?
<DeathStar> <Yuki> And Sabrina said he didn't feel like a normal shapeshifter - if that evil was submurged or something
<Jackieness> <Airym> "It could simply be that the Cartel are a glorified criminal syndicate with generalised ill intent."
<Sera> Cookie> Maybe there's something else at work besides the shapeshifters.
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It was like an icky tingling - unlike the others who just felt all out there
<Sera> Si> A defecting one...?
<Xanatos> <Pepper> IF he's stronger of a member of the Cartel AND he already knew it was a shifter...yeah maybe it all fit. But hmm.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> ... maybe. Or maybe the shapeshifter was a high level one due to his position
<Sera> Si> It's not like there could still be more Dark Ones out there instead right?
<DeathStar> <Yuki> That or it's a defective one or a god
<ChadWinters> <Cel> We're running on a lot speculation.
<Sera> Si> I mean the shapeshifters root from them and all...
<Xanatos> <Pepper> Yeah. Either way we should be pretty skeptical of all that info he gave us.
<DeathStar> *Taiga frowns, eyeing the bland name* Well, Harrison...
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I guess we should be on the lookout for you again
<DeathStar> <Yuki> *slumps* Does this mean all the info is junk?
<DeathStar> *Yuki flops on the sand*
<Sera> Cookie> Nah, a lot is probably legit.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> We'll look into it anyway.
<ChadWinters> <Cel> It's hard to say. But it's still worth going after since we have nothing else.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Even if it means springing a trap
<Sera> Cookie> If he's smart enough to do this ploy, he's also smart enough to give us targeted information that benefits him somehow.
<DeathStar> *Taiga eyes the sky darkening* Lets check on the others and hope they're having better luck

<Sera> * Kaelan blinks and looks over, then back where Rachael went, torn.
<DeathStar> <Lorelei> I also want to go through Dupree's room - see if there's anything of Dusk's in there
<Jackieness> <Moira> "...one oil massage coming up!" *puts her fist in the air and then walks off*
<DeathStar> <Lorelei> The more information we have before the confrontation, the better
<Sera> Michelle> "I can tail them if you all want. Seeing how we know Rachael's going to go after him."
<DeathStar> <Lorelei> Rachael will be fine. She's careful
<DeathStar> *she doesn't say the same about Valen*
<Sera> Michelle> "Of course she is, that's why she's following Valen, since he's not."
<Xanatos> <Kellin> And they'll never be self-sufficient if we don't give them just a bit of space before we come running.
<Sera> Kaelan> *puffs her cheeks*
<DeathStar> <Lorelei> But I plan to be there before dark. Even if it breaks Valen's heart
