<Seraphna> Alita> I've been wondering about that. Has there ever been someone who didn't submit themselves allowed up there before?

<ChadWinters`> <Id> I imagine to curry more favor from the Ancients.
<Seraphna> Alita> It seems an odd contradiction for a man who claims to have no power, yet sends his family members there for gain, to somehow be allowed there.
<DeathStar> <Celes> I wasn't exactly in a place to go stalking after him to find out
<Xanatos> <Simon> If Mal'oy's family has done enough to deserve the good will, that coudl be enough. Though it would have to be much to get on Aska's good side, i believe.
<ChadWinters`> <Id> I believe Simons line of thinking is correct. As the head, it's more common for him to appear infront of the Ancients than it would be for his talents to.
<Seraphna> **Alita muses** He does seem to have significant influence despite even Gale seeming to dislike him...

<Xanatos> <Simon> Neekito, Talia, and I helped with Frost's contract so I believe Void is the only one we have left, I would need to double check. So we would need some new tasks.

<DeathStar> *outside the streets are mostly empty outside people going about to do chores that have to be done. Neekito leans into the pats*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon glances around, occassionally looking back up to the temple every so often.
<DeathStar> *there are infact two Ancient Temples floating about and the Mal'oy house, which is a large complex near their circled home on the map, seems to have a lot of activity going on right now. Gale is sitting on top of the Mal'oy home, peering up at the temples in thought*

<Xanatos> <Simon> Lady Gale. Is everything alright? 6* He calls out.
<DeathStar> *Gale tilts her head, hearing Simon's voice on the wind. She glances over at them*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon holds up a hand in a wave, trying to judge her mood.

<Seraphna> **Alita bows her head to Gale**
<DeathStar> *while they are conversing, there seems to be something going on at the palace. Celes tilts her head; their house is a bit far away from the gates*

<Xanatos> <Simon> How are you, today? We noticed the temples and wondered if there was a situation we could assist with.
<Seraphna> Alita> It does seem... well... out of the ordinary.
<DeathStar> <Gale> I'm fine. I don't think so. The Croza are doing some things. I don't know what. I'm usually the last to be told. Sorry
<Sara> * Ellie waves
<Xanatos> <Simon> That is alright, we will wander closer to the palance and attempt to determine if we can help.

<DeathStar> <Gale> Well, becareful. *she notes, seriously*
<DeathStar> *Celes bows her head and walks along the pathway to the palace.*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon pauses and then nods seriously in return.
<Seraphna> **Alita sems less than stellar about this, but looks to the others**
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Lets be extra careful."
<DeathStar> *As they get closer, they see the mechanical beings there made of ancient/spirit technology, standing much taller than a normal human, some with angelic features. Mal'oy is there, along with Sophia as his servant. It's clear that Gale has been keeping an eye on them from her perch on the house, or at least Sophia. They seem to be listening to Mal'oy talk about something as they move down the streets.*
<DeathStar> *With them as well is Aska and Shade*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon looks to see if there's a crowd to blend in with,.
<DeathStar> *there does not seem to be a crowd; due to their keeping the streets emptyish. And especially not on the main street they are walking down. Anyone that is out doing tasks they are deeming important, are keeping far away from them*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon shifts to stay out of sight around a building.
<Ariel> * The being is tall and doll-like, with thin and elongated limbs seemingly made of glazed white ceramic. It's face a plate of dark glass with swirling blue energy behind it. Its legs draw out nearly to a point, as it floats just above the ground, passively on guard.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Can any of you read lips or hear what they are saying?
<Alicia> * Ceilidh bunny-ears to try to listen
<ChadWinters`> 6Id adjust his receivers to to try and pick them up, canceling out anything that isn't their group or Mal'oys group.
<DeathStar> *Celes takes note of the other being with them, not recogizing them at all, kneeling*
<Seraphna> Alita> I suggest we not be in their path.
<DeathStar> *wondering how Liana does this*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Outside Mal'oy none of them really have lips.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Well Aska and Shade do I guess
<DeathStar> *Ceilidh would pick up a few things. It sounds like Mal'oy is selling the Ancients the idea on something and the Ancients are seeing if he is able to handle .. something*
<DeathStar> *Aska and Shade, as well as the doll like being are saying nothing so far*
<Seraphna> **Alita muses, deciding to spend more time getting a good look at the Ancients**
<Xanatos> <Simon> I've never seen a being quite like their guard. I wonder if it is a more elite version of the ancients.
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "What is he up to...?"
<Seraphna> Alita> They might not be actual agents, but automatons that work for them. Do you know, Lady Celes?
<DeathStar> *The Ancients seem to be mechanical, maybe; their bodies look to be spirit/ancient based, with face plates that let them see out. There is no eyes that one can look at, it's just a face plate that could be looking at anything. Their bodies seem to be two categories, the angelic category and the normal ones, both with humanoid shape bodies, and both float, with glowing lines on them. Otherwise they seem to be white*
<DeathStar> <Celes> I know little about them. Or what is inside them
<DeathStar> <Celes> As for their guard, I've never seem that one before
<Seraphna> Alita> They are simply fascinating...
<DeathStar> *The Ancients seem to motion at Aska, Shade, and the doll like being to Mal'oy, glowing as they "speak" in their strange language to him. Ma'loy nods and bows a few times*
<DeathStar> <Celes> I think Mal'oy is trying to make a deal with them.
<Sara> * Ellie exchanges a look with Neekito, wonder what's being said
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I think so too, but I have no idea what."
<Xanatos> <Simon> I think he did.
<DeathStar> *Neekito frowns with Ellie*
<Sara> * Ellie shrugs
<DeathStar> *Ceilidh would pick up words like spirit, realm, overseer and judgement; the ancients begin to turn away when one of the Ancients pause*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon tenses and slowly begins to make some runes with his hand, waiting.
<DeathStar> *The Ancient seems to be discussing something. Ceilidh would pick up a few words*
<DeathStar> *And then it seems to be decided. The Ancients send the strange like doll-like being as well as Aska and Shade as they continue back toward their temple*
<Seraphna> Alita> **muses thinking on the words, not drawing any conclusion that's good**
<Alicia> * Ceilidh waits until they've moved off before speaking up again. "They know we were listening."
<DeathStar> *Aska forms a light blade and appears near the group with Shade moving into the shadows*
<DeathStar> <Neekito> Uh, ah...
<Xanatos> <Simon> Lady Aska. Hello.
<DeathStar> *Aska turns her head toward Simon, aiming her blade at Simon* So it was you
<Xanatos> <Simon> I'm sorry? What was?
<Ariel> * The ancient doll raises an armored gauntlet, energy swirling inside. Unlike Aska, it doesn't recognize the group.
<Sara> * Ellie jerks
<DeathStar> <Aska> The Croza asked us to detain you and find out who was spying on them.
<DeathStar> <Aska> I'm afraid our friend there will likely go very hard on you
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Were we not supposed to be here?"
<Xanatos> <Simon> ....I can see how it comes off that way, though it wasn't our intention.
<Seraphna> Alita> We merely came to see what they were like.
<DeathStar> <Aska> Is that so? Why did you not step out?
<Seraphna> Alita> Everyone else was keeping out of the way so it seemed proper...
<Xanatos> <Simon> And truthfully Mal'oy does not like us, so we did not want to interrupt him or cause any issues.
<Seraphna> Alita> We weren't takling any care to really hide though... so I am unsure why it would be assumed we were spying...
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I didn't want to intrude or interrupt..."
<DeathStar> *Aska lets out a breath* I'll see if I can talk my companion down. *she turns to the ancient doll and begins to talk to them in another language*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> ... something tells me we might have to fight
<Seraphna> **Talia pops out from behind Gwen and holds up a flower.** Can give him this.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Remain calm Gwen.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Lady Shade, are you doing well? 6* He says to the shadows.
<DeathStar> *Shade peers out of the shadows* Oh, I'm just waiting to see if I can capture you
<Ariel> * The ancient doll regards each member of the party one at a time, it's 'face' seeming to swirl more turbulently, before lowering it's weapon.

<Seraphna> **Talia offers Shade a flower too**
<DeathStar> *Aska nods* I do not believe I have introduced you. *she motions at the doll* They are from another world that the Croza control. They are like us there. I am still learning about them as well.

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Oh. It's nice to meet you, though I wish it had been in less tense circumstances."

<DeathStar> <Aska> Their name is Iva. *she tells Simon* I do not know a lot but I think the Croza brought Iva here for a reason. So I hope you all get along well
<DeathStar> *during all this, Mal'oy seems to have gotten away and is likely preparing for whatever he is doing*

<DeathStar> *Mal'oy so far has been making new rules to help foster Human/Spirit relations, though there is a bit of an underline darkness to everything. As if the Croza are also behind some of this madness. The Temples remaining in the sky, but if the Ancient War has begun, it's not manifested entirely yet (cont)
<DeathStar> *First, those with Talents have been documented more obviously and made to spent time with the spirits, Spirits have been going on missions more, pacts have been made to be made more often, the Store the group made was shut down my Mal'oy for citation reasons, and other little things
<DeathStar> *Neekito mumbles in her kitchen while Mal'oy's manor has another wing added to it*
<Seraphna> Alita> So we're never getting the shop open again, are we?
<DeathStar> *Celes taps her pen, looking unsure how to progress*
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Not for a while."
<ChadWinters`> <Id> Most likely not, unless we offer something to Mal'oy in return.
<ChadWinters`> <Id> If, we want to outmaneuver him, then I believe earning the Spirits trust is our only path.
<DeathStar> <Celes> The store I can handle, that is just being him being a jerk. But I am not sure how to approach the puzzle
<DeathStar> <Celes> I feel he's a tool that is being used without realizing it
<Seraphna> Alita> Some of his moves seem more Crozan than of any interest to him.
<DeathStar> *Celes plays with something, then pops it in her mouth*
<ChadWinters`> <Id> Power tends to blind those that refuse to worry about consequences.
<Seraphna> Alita> Feels like he's recruiting people for a war without telling anyone he's doing so.
<Xanatos> <Simon> There is a competenacy at play that I believe is above his current abilities. But that could be my bias at work.
<ChadWinters`> <Id> You're not wrong Simon, he's essentially trading ruling with power.
<DeathStar> <Celes> I would say it would benefit us if we could take away his power, but I have no idea how.
<ChadWinters`> <Id> A figurehead if you will.
<DeathStar> <Celes> I only see one weakness and that is the one Ellie established
<ChadWinters`> <Id> Earn the trust of the people. Earn the trust of the Spirits
<DeathStar> <Celes> Id: And you think that will topple him?
<ChadWinters`> <Id> Topple no. But I think it would force him in to a stalemate.

<ChadWinters`> <Id> If the Spirits choose us over him, he'll be forced to think carefuly what he does. If the citizens prefer us over him, he'll be forced to temper what he enforces.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Unless we can find proof of misdeeds...? I'm not really certain.

I think Gale might have been sent to become corrupted, or at least started the path to becoming that way. Which means next time we see her, we might want to be wary of letting her near Ellie

<Xanatos> <Simon> This trip has not been as entertaining and as full of knowledge as I had hoped. To actually see the spirits being taken advantage of has...well I have not felt a rage inside like this in quite some time.
<DeathStar> <Celes> I agree. I think it's time we got you all up to Kumen and push Shade or Aska to go to the Spirit Realm before they become too far gone. If Gale isn't fully corrupted, we need to start pushing what advantaged we have left. Because I think we're about to lose them.
