<DeathStar> <Asarar> Well, we know that thanks to the spirit problems on Geyze, we nearly all got brainwashed as infants. And Ymir's spirit devices weren't operational yet to protect against such a thing. And the C'en were after our spirits during the incident to enslave them for their power. I still haven't gotten a straight answer from her on how we avoided that - being a baby

<DeathStar> <Asarar> It's been a while sine we've been bad guys. From what I understand, the problem came from the Dark Lands
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Shinobu's elder sister, who came back wrong, used the nobles and the younger spirits to twist the faith and the C'en to stage a coup
<DeathStar> <Asarar> If such a thing is so easily done.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Of course, we could just start pre-emptively hitting destabilizing elements too."

<DeathStar> <Asarar> The fact is I don't want us being affected by their problems and I still have questions on our end. Ymir supposedly wasn't deaged despite her being older than the cut off. And she was useless in helping the kids with the technology. *she props her head up* I don't like problems.

<DeathStar> *As she says this, the bar's teleport glows. Bonnie glances as Lumi, Sabrina, and others from the academy arrive*

From what we know, and the report says, the way the Dark Lands did it was using the C'en crystal technology that I still don't get to hijack tenebrae 's believer's faith

<DeathStar> <Lumi> We got all our best studying the remnants of the crystals that weren't destroyed
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I haven't gotten bad reports from our idols

<DeathStar> <Lumi> Kumen is going to be the new Geyze down the road. The Elders have more experience. The C'en are pretty much repelled. But what bits of their tech might could be ...rebuilt?

<Xanatos> <Simon> Acquiring the remnants of that would be good so that I could study ways to protect against it in the future.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "If there were, say, a bounty on retrieval of this tech on behalf of the alliance, then you would have some material to work with so you can defend against it in the future."

<DeathStar> <Asarar> It says that the C'en used a deaging spell to make Logan a baby. *she says as if only he was made a baby* I take it the spell used the spirit's faith since this is tied together?

<ChadWinters> <Id> Common good. For the betterment of "insert" kind? But I will remember this.
<Xanatos> <Logan> Every one of your alliance buddies are paid a salary for their service. Everyone needs money to make ends meet. The goal might be for good, but money is always involved.

<DeathStar> *Asarar murmurs as the door opens and Ymir walks in the Elder Wind Spirit*
<DeathStar> *Ymir takes a seat, taking her coat off* I see I'm late.
<Xanatos> <Simon> It's a little complicated, spellcasting and spirit powers are actually two separate types of abitilies. They could've used a spell to tap into that spirit energy to power it, but I'm afraid I was also affected so I'm not quite sure the details.
<Xanatos> <Logan> You're only late if you feel guilty about it, otherwise you arrived right on time.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Then I am on time
<DeathStar> *Gale orders a cookie flavored drink and sips it*
<Xanatos> 6* Logan laughs
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Does anyone have any questions? I imagine I missed some things
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I know I did."
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Ymir, I am wondering, how did you manage to defend against the C'en attack?"
<Xanatos> <Simon> We're just having a small debrief on the recent incident, how it may or may not have happened. You haven't missed too much.
<DeathStar> *Ymir pauses, playing with a napkin and orders a drink as if buying time*
<Jackieness> <Kira> *sips from her glass* "Barry, Ymir's drink is on the house and make it a double."
<DeathStar> *Then begins to recite as if having read it in a report* Well, we set up the defenses and got the spirits into the HQ building. Around that time the children showed up and after some work we got them outfitted with some items to help them on their journey and back to Geyze. After that we worked on getting some of our people to the planet and seeing if we could help them after making sure no more of our people were taken and getting some of their tech to study.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> And in the last battle with them seeing if we could safely have the Elders aid the children along with Macross forces
<ChadWinters> <Id> You sent children back to Geyze to fight an enemy?
<DeathStar> <Ymir> They wanted to find their parents and they were on Geyze
<DeathStar> <Ymir> And Kumen was not much safer at the time

<Jackieness> <Kira> "And a rather clumsy plan at that. Though tell me your perspective,:

<DeathStar> <Ymir> Brainwashing is viable maybe. Blood spells with a massive amount of infants at a young age grants spells more power

<DeathStar> <Ymir> The fact is they were doing it on such a massive scale and reaching out to larger areas of space around Geyze that anyone under 21 could foil them, I just see many holes in their plan. Unless it was to get rid of the adults, there had to be some sort of plan for the babies to use them.
<ChadWinters> <Id> On that, subject. It would be easier to steal them amass across the cosmos instead of wasting time and energy to turn adults into children.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Getting rid of a massive population is a waste of spell energy
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Unless they wanted to do that
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Gt rid of the planet to populate
<ChadWinters> <Id> That would be the more likely scenario
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "I agree with Ymir there. This was either a direct plan, or a very badly thought out one."
<Jackieness> <Kira> "I also saw the holes in such a plot. And if you were really trying to depopulate a world, there are quicker ways to do so."
<ChadWinters> <Id> Well, wouldn't deaging them all, disconnect them from any bonds they have with the Spirits?
<Xanatos> <Simon> That it would, which would have weakened the spirits further.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> I couldn't say... <Asarar> Unless you observe it directly. Which you seem to be grasping it like Ceilidh

<DeathStar> <Ymir> *lets out a small breath* From what I read and heard, it seems they went after the weakest link - a kingdom with a population that prefers/remembers Shinobu's elder sister when she was sane and beloved.

<DeathStar> <Ymir> The C'en approached her with technology to help her out and tapped into Tenebrae's spirit faith and they boosted it by saying the sister had Tenebrae's backing. Faith went up - into their devices

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "That would also be an explanation for a badly thought out plan."
<DeathStar> <Ymir> How the deaging and all that worked, I still haven't worked it out completely outside reading Nico's notes.

<Xanatos> <Logan> You'd be surprised how effective getting them to perform songs and dances can be.

<ChadWinters> <Id> They don't seem to like to work together easily anymore.
<DeathStar> <Lumi> From what I've read they believe in the spirits and prefer them to be there to like ... maintain balance between kingdom issues and their own Kingdoms.
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "In any case, understanding what happened is the first step towards preventing it from reoccurring."
<DeathStar> <Lumi> So Tenebrae needed to help cut off the coup before it ever occurred
<DeathStar> <Lumi> That kind of activity
<Jackieness> <Kira> "They need to act likes gods."
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Which your spirits are still young for that deal
<Xanatos> <Simon> Indeed. But they are still children.

<DeathStar> *Soren, along with the other spirits, listens to Lumi's idea about the missions and the going to Kumen to work under the Elders; in the meantime, Selena sits with other Alliance people, studying documents on Spirits, while Death paces underground to be let free*
<Jackieness> <Lana> *is studying some C'en tech in the lab, specifically interested in how it interacted with the spell in order to magnify it*

<DeathStar> <Selena> You know, I don't know much. *she has pieces of the crystal towers they broke*
<DeathStar> <Selena> But I swear I think some of these might be resonating with something

<ChadWinters> <Id> If Lana and I can isolate the frequency that it's occuring at, we should be able to figure out what/if it is
<DeathStar> *the C'en tech it looks like grows into larger crysal towers and seem to try to nullify spirit tech/spirit energy. It seems some of them have been adjusted to attach to spirit energy faith through crystal threads attaching to the spirit, but with how broken the towers are, one would need to repair it to try again*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "Its built specifically for spirit energy. I wonder how mana-based magic would interact."
<DeathStar> <Selena> I just can't tell without trying to repair it; I could use my power to try to achieve it but without someone with knowledge of this kind of stuff I might restore the C'en tower and that could be abd
<ChadWinters> <Id> What if we did it somewhere that wouldn't affect the Spirits. Well in theory.
<ChadWinters> <Id> But one that based on their proximity, should hold true.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Perhaps another planet?

<ChadWinters> <Id> If they worked over a long distance, they would've just planted them randomally across the galaxy. So we find a planet, or a moon. To restore one on.

<ChadWinters> <Id> Perhaps in the process we can learn to chane what it affects.
<ChadWinters> <Id> Possible scenario would be that it would try to seek out what it was designed to go after. But by that time we could easily destroy it.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Hm, we will need to get a shuttle...cannot use a spirit to teleport us.

<Xanatos> <Simon> What do we need to know to re-activate this? Were you planning on using spirit power?

<ChadWinters> <Id> I believe that if we can figure out how these work, we can figure out how they are programmed to target certain things. And if we can figure that out, than we can easily reprogram them for our benefit

<DeathStar> <Shinobu> The Elders are the spirits of Kumen, yes? Tenebrae and Nocturne in a unique position since there is no Dark Spirit. Technically, Nocturne should go to Kumen due to that fact
<DeathStar> <Shinobu> But outside that, you would not want Edna to travel to Kumen to draw power from Pyro
<DeathStar> <Shinobu> The faith she might draw would weaken and vice versa
<Xanatos> <Logan> Oh right, someone has talked about that around us. It's why they wanted us to help get the Elders established.
<DeathStar> <Shinobu> Right. Once a spirit establishes them on a world, they become sort of one with it. Aska is still alive and once she recovers, she has stepped down so she and Soren will not conflict. Technically Aska could go to Kumen as well.

<DeathStar> *Lumi eyes the documents provided and after some tinkering, the C'en material begins to try to repair itself, pieces attaching to each other, rebuilding*

<Xanatos> <Simon> I have a spirit fossil, if it drains it of energy we will have a better idea of what it's doing. But for now, plenty of scans and analysis.

<DeathStar> *over the next hour or so, it continues to grow, becoming a mini tower up to one's knee, to a little larger*
<DeathStar> *it seems it's repairing new pathways with whatever crystals that are on hand*

<DeathStar> *it begins to sink into the ground and draw materials from the planet, suddenly it grows 3x as fast and large*

<ChadWinters> <Id> It has a way to convert raw material in to it's own material. Interesting. Explains how they were able to pop up so quickly.
<Xanatos> 6* Simon blinks, tracing runes to do a type of energy tracing spell to see if he can sort out what's going into the tower.

<DeathStar> *the tower seems to be trying to form rooms inside with crystal chambers; despite lacking needed materials still, it has the anti-spirit chambers to take out spirits as well as other dangerous materials in the crystal. So far the spirit-faith draining matierals haven't formed*
<DeathStar> *soon the tower looks to be about 20 feet tall*
<DeathStar> <Lumi> So we got our own little danger tower here
<ChadWinters> 6Id floats up and about as several Idlet's branch out from Simon's person and begin to scan and move around the tower
<Xanatos> 6* Simon checks to see if the spirit fossil is affected at all.
<DeathStar> *it looks like the spirit fossil is not a big threat strangely and not been focused on.*
<DeathStar> *After reaching a height where it towers over them, it stops growing, mainly being a tower with anti-spirit energy radiating off of it - clearly meant to take out spirits. But there does seem to be a chamber inside to trap a spirit as well, but it's offline*

<ChadWinters> <Id> I believe so. I'm not seeing any signs of growth.
<ChadWinters> <Id> We should enter and see if we can find a way to control it.

<Xanatos> <Simon> I shall. 6* He hands the spirit fossil to Lumi and moves to step inside.
<ChadWinters> <Id> Fine. I will send an Idlet in. 6An Idlet floats infront of Simon and moves in
<DeathStar> *The two step inside and find things running - crystals glowing but nothing seems to attack them. There's many chambers connecting each other, clearly a base of sorts and the center is a place to hook up a spirit, but it's offline with no spirit*
<DeathStar> *it's the only room that seems to be different from the anti-spirit nature, as it seems to use them*
<ChadWinters> <Id> I believe the this place is ours to learn from now, Simon. I look forward to what we discover

<DeathStar> <Lumi> *paces outside - the scans seem to be fairly safe right now. Nothing seems to be out to get them. But it's clear the Tower is still doing stuff under the radar according to the scans. Ceilidh would pick up sending signals for spirit activity*
<Xanatos> <Simon> I wonder if it's almost as if the spirit is used as a battery in this. Similar to Aquarius?
<ChadWinters> <Id> Perhaps that's where they got the idea from

<Xanatos> <Simon> Likely. Let us work to see if we can determine it's range.
<ChadWinters> <Id> My idlet's have picked that up. But they are within the expected response.

<ChadWinters> <Id> In theory it should be able to. If it's actively looking for spirits like our scans are telling us. It could be used that way. But it would be dangerous considering how it acts in their presence
