Session 306: Under New Management
Location: EarthGov Military Complex
The team is now working on an EarthGov military base, where their tech is not quite compatible with the base, causing issues with power, making it flicker or outright shut off. While Lemon worries that they will have to rewire parts of the base, Myria, Angelia, and Mi'Na have a comedy routine going on in the background. While they wait for each of their teammates to be vetted, man named Enpece is assigned to the team to be their emergency doctor. After plugging in their personal teleportation system and blowing out the lights, Myria is sent to rewire the entire base while the team gets ready, however they hear a voice from a young teen girl. Adeline arrives, appearing to be 13ish now, her hair color becoming more distinctly whiteish compared to her old blonde, making it a mix of white/blonde. Ignoring Angela asking who she is - and wearing a strange jungle outfit - she suggestions they hire contractors they trust to work on the base sector by sector with ripples so no one notices, until Chad gives out her name. It appears she stayed long enough to be one year older than Jenny.
Senator Denham arrives to talk to Marcus about a mission right after Adeline leaves to talk to her mom 'Cheryl', going into how criminals are sneaking into Geyze and Kumen due to the quicker time there compared to the rest of the Prime Universe, and the fear is that they will have more time to prepare there for when they leave. To his chargin, though, Shion said it will be their job to deal with the criminals so Denham wants to look for the Cobalts due to their mischief for the past for years and opening declaring themselves being behind it. And it seems that their old friends Lev and Sunny are part of the group, so the team is to apprehend them. As he leaves he demands they vet the cosplayer with them and they all turn to see Cherry standing there, looking to be in her adult form now. Marcus and Angela immediately vet her, much to Daiman's dismay who is having trouble still, and the team looks over the chip given to them. Adeline aids them with the computer searches since they do not have computer person yet, since they find a pattern of them stopping at burger places after jobs, and go to where the owner of the burger places lives, assuming he might be behind it.
Location: Upstate
After working their way inside, they question the old man who runs the burger joint. Asking questions, or if he has seen Lev or Sunny, they do not get too far in their question, despite Chad wondering if it is just a front for the Cobalts. Even though Cherry almost ruins the entire thing by leaning on a statue and knocking it over, Tabetha reads the man's mind and does get something suspicious, to do with the burgers, so they go and order some burgers. There they discover the sauce is highly addictive making the burgers much better - almost too good. They also learn that Lev enjoys the special burgers, having ordered them before at the place they checked out. While they decide to scope out the burger places, Adeline sends Chad the address Lev gave and it turns out to be a retirement place.
Session 307: You Are My Sunshine
Location: The Military Base
As the Specials Team gets situated in their new base, the investigation in to Lev and Sunny continues. Adeline searching out more information for the team as they head out towards the Retirement Home that had previously been noted. When they arrive Adeline reveals a bit about Sunny that had never been put into her record; she has a twin sister living on the Luna Colony by the name Christine Adler. Deciding that this lead takes higher priority than the Retirement Home, the team heads off towards a shuttle port after setting up surveillance on the location.
Location: Luna Colony
Arriving at the address for Sunny's sister, the team finds a decrepit old building that has definitely seen better days; with some of the team heading inside, the rest circle the building to make sure she can't escape. After knocking in the door and triggering what appears to be a dead trap, Tabetha, Marcus, Rea, Mi'Na, Zephyr, Angela and Chad head inside to confront Sunny. As soon as it appears that Sunny has been captured, she reveals that she's on a GPS dead-man switch; while the team tries to figure out how to deal with it the building suddenly is attacked by a shuttle.
Trying to avoid the shots, the team rallies to deal with the new threat flown by Lev which is quickly dealt with by a telekinetically propelled grenade. Since his shuttle has been blown, Lev teleports away once again, leaving Sunny to deal with the team on her own. With Luna Colony Police showing up, Sunny is once again captured. Once she has been brought to a local police station, and their identities as an EarthGov Military unit accepted, the Chief is happy to go over a few things while they wait for Christine to arrive. When she does it's very evident that the two are related, their tempers match.
After a bit the Chief returns with an unsuspecting young man with a camera, and a message from Lev. Release Sunny or hundreds of nanite bombs will go off all across the colony...in 30 minutes. Accepting that they need more time, they let Sunny go. Working off the basis that Lev is a creature of habit, they split up and head to the two local Burger Joints that Lev loves and then converge on a shuttle port. With TK, Gravity Wells and a Dragoon Bustah they wreck the shuttle before Lev triggers another explosion; in the debris they find Lev unconscious but alive. They have lost Sunny but have succeeded in securing Lev.
Location: Military Base
The Senator has okayed Christina to be on the team, as well as given most of the Luna Colony information files based on Sunny while they wait to learn what has happened to Lev, who was taken by the military to be questioned. Lemon seems the most annoyed at not being allowed to have access to Lev, feeling they should have access to whatever information he has since they caught him. Darien explains that right now they have a panel that oversees, the panel being part of the whole secret organization thing, and while Denham is the only one who is being helpful - despite leading the charge - he is one of many Senators on the panel. And while they can reach out to other senators, such as Hale or Peter, they do not have as much power yet due to being new and are likely not to oversee any such panel or manage projects that could help them. As Chad pretends to ignore Angela being President of EarthGov once and Myria announcing the rewiring is done, Marcus finally announces he is bored, so Lemon sends them to check out the nursing home that Lev listed as his address.
Location: Mega City
While driving to the nursing home, Katrina sends Marcus as message about his son, so they stop at the newly opened Pio's Diner, since they lost access to the one on the PAX when they were forced to leave. They are greeted by JM and the others, as well as his kids, who seem eager to start up a relationship with Marcus. There's pictures of Marcus on the wall, since he helped begin the place when it was Kat's, and they stay there for lunch and catch up some before continuing onto the nursing home, though Cherry seems a bit surprised at the idea of Marcus having a kid, as well as having a relationship with Angela. They park and when they step in, an alert chime goes off, likely for when old people try to leave - maybe. An employee shows up to turn it off and Marcus questions him, making them see a bit shifty, surprisingly, toward Chris, making them wonder if he recognized her as Sunny.
Using the excuse to go talk to his supervisor, he leaves them. Chris's attitude makes the supervisor go off balance and he uses checking for Lev in their computer as time to stall on them, when the patients themselves begin to unload with energy guns on them, killing him and nearly killing the team. Darien's arm is made useless due to being shot and Ren is shot up as well, making Reikana go into Noire mode, throwing black hole attacks at them. While Chad thinks they are brainwashed, Chris thinks they are actually mercs due to how well they are firing. Tabetha throws their grenades back and Darien assures Marcus he agrees with Chris on the mercenaries assessment. While Montana rampages, the team manages to do a gunning retreat from the room and to their van, where it's nearly taken out as well with a grenade until it's thrown back as well by Chris. Marcus contacts Adeline for reinforcements and she sends X's team.
While Angela heals Ren, the team is forced to keep the grenades raining down from the roof from killing them and Noire keeps trying to crush the building, but finds it reinforced. X's team and goes straight in, being the distraction and brute force team, while Marcus' team sneaks in to the side. Adeline aids them by giving them a map of the room and helping guide them. They reach the supervisor's computer and Chad downloads as much information as he can before it crashes and sees a lot of it looks fake, with the only thing that looks real is the medicine and treatments. They find a fake area below the floor they are in and once they clear the floor out, X ripples them down to a secret base. It seems to be a Cobalt cell and an old man there has wiped the computers, so Chad shoots him with a stun shot to the chest, causing a heart attack. They shut the jammer down on the computer and Chad tries to retrieve what information is left on the computer - it seems to be a retirement home for Cobalt agents, indicating they have been around for a while now. Many of them wonder if Cobalt is run by Sunny's dad now - why else would she join due to her erratic nature, but for now they clear out and let clean up crews come in.
Session 309: Magical Intervention
Location: Military Base
As the Special Ops team watches from their new base, President Dias holds a press conference unveiling a new alliance with the Makan World. The team is interrupted by the arrival of Senators Hale, Peter and a third Senator...Hamilton. This new Senator seems to hold several of the team in high regards, and offers a path for the team to follow for gaining leeway with the government oversight...bring in a Magical Girl and the Political wing of EarthGov would give them more room to move.
After the senators have left, they find a datachip with details on the questioning of Lev; despite a very roughed up appearance he rants about Weapon rights and hurls insults. When they finish watching they’re interrupted by Fate’s arrival; she notifies the team to the news that Yggdrasil’s computer has been locked out by somebody with Reality Powers...Cheryl. In addition to this, Fate announces that in one of her distant future moments, she wrote herself a note; that the lock is still in place.
They’re interrupted by the arrival of an older gentleman, Vice-President Stacey and three young girls. Announcing that they can choose any one of the three to join them, they err on the side of caution and choose the 16 year old who is more able to go out in public with them. They also learn that as the girls grow older, their powers wane. With the mounting hormones, angst and jealousy; Rea and Chris may become drinking buddies in order to tolerate things.
Adeline meanwhile starts questioning one of the girls about how they got their powers, seeming to want to duplicate the process. As the team continues to discuss, they are interrupted by an event that Chad has been waiting for for decades...Warren breaking. Marcus settles in to think when X arrives to make a statement, it’s time to “talk about the President”.
Session 310: Conspiracy Theory
Location: Military Base
Adeline has a few magical girls tied up, trying to figure out how their magical powers work and how one receives them, and seems exasperated at how these animal things choose the girls. Josephine lectures Adeline for tying the girls up and demands she release them before she causes an incident, so Adeline gives the girl candy, having told her it was a game, then mumbles about what rank is Josephine. Marcus asks for some time off to do personal investigating, so Lemon grants it, letting Marcus go off with Cherry - who in turn is being chased after by Angela, who made a joke that made her sad. Kane rejoins the team, meaning that Adeline no longer has to work the computer for the team, and at that moment Vice President Stacey enters the room, claiming she is there due to being asked to come. Tabetha states she is in charge with Marcus being gone, so Stacey sits down to have a conversation with her and Lemon.
Stacey goes over knowing that Yggdrasil was sealed a few days ago, stating she thought they already knew since she did, and deciding that Cheryl had her reasons for doing what she did - as well as the Maka treaty to work on - they pushed it aside for the time being. They begin to discuss the lock and how Cheryl never came back in the future - in front of Stacey who they are suppose to be pretending Lemon is Cheryl - much to Kane's chargin. Even Chad is making the mistake and he is the one most susicipious of her. Stacey eventually busts them out that she knows, and Tabetha just acknowledges it's good not to lie to allies, plus the place is probably bugged still, but Stacey says if anything listening devices are probably aimed at the place, so Myria goes to deal with that. Zephyr steps in after Stacey is gone and slaps down paperwork, saying the new Senator has given them the location of where Lev is being held, so they decide to check it out.
Location: Military Holding Facility
They arrive at a facility that has high tech weaponry and a lot of guards protecting it, but they proceed in through the front door to the guard at the front desk. Not seeing their names, and not wanting to have to go through Denham and his red tape, Ren speaks up and says she can talk to her grandfather - Cran - which makes Kane raise his eyebrow. Ren makes the call and when Kane eyes her datapad, as if debating hacking it, Ren says she will quit the team, as well as snark at Cran - it seems Ren might finally be revealing who her benefactor is. Their names are now on the list and they are able to meet with Lev finally, who is chained to the floor and bruised, as well as having a burger withdrawal. As Lev eats it, they notice that B34, Bea, is the guard and she cheerfully waves at them, but then Tabetha reveals she laced it with a truth serum.
Location: Military Base
The team muses over what they learned from Lev: burgers, his life story, Weapons, Weapon rights, Tabetha's breasts, that Ren was too young to fuck, but while it was going on Tabetha was reading Lev's mind and learned a few things. That Sunny's father was not running the Cobalts and that Sunny is part of it because that elements in the government had her father killed, corrupt elements, and the Cobalts will help her uncover who or what did it. Marcus, X, and Cherry return with datachips and X reveals that Marcus' plan is to watch video footage of Dias for some reason, much to her annoyance. Kaleb is also there and joins in watching the videos as well. They watch as Dias steadily becomes more and more Presidental, playing to the cameras more as the year goes on, especially after the Maka rescue, and so on. While Chad thinks it might be his Weapon ability, the others do note it might be an ebb and flow thing, though Kaleb points out that Dias hasn't visited Marcus in ages, which is not like him. The team decides to keep an eye on things, while they go over the Lev situation.
