<DeathStar> *Sabrina forms a magical ball and tries to juggle it and seems to barely able to do three for a minute. Then sets a hat down and tries tries the rabbit thing - it runs away and she chases it*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> Really? *she walks with the group toward the teleporters* I would have thought a place like that would have liked such a thing. But reading the files, I guess it was more into technology entertainment

<Seraphna> Thena> Thena is magic.

<Alicia> * Sparkling arrives shortly after the group

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "... okay." *eyes her own reading, and how low it is*
<Seraphna> Si> Dragon huh?
<KAS> <Nicolette> "Honestly? This is better than it used to be."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'm not sure. *she walks out of the spaceport and the place looks clean and beautiful, with some guards and guard bots floating around, helping people and protecting the upper level. It looks like Ymir and Ylva are mixing nature and the old city, with trees growing and little fountains with real water added, and even a city lake*
<Seraphna> Jaime> Hmmm... **keeps here to herself, cloth forming over the mark**
<DeathStar> *Ceilidh has human, clone parts, as well as more main power - whatever that may be* <Taiga> Anyway. I think the magic stuff was down below.
<Jackieness> <Noire> :Down below? How scandalous."
<DeathStar> *Taiga moves over to where Nicolette would see something entirely brand new - a series of teleporters and elevators have been set up to go down to the lower levels instead of the old way that made it hard to go down befoer, using the sub-way system or the stairs*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Is that safe?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Hm. *she rubs the back of her head* It should be. I doubt they want a city lawsuit. *she steps up onto the massive elevator platform with other civilians*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps on to the platform too*
<KAS> <Nicolette> "I mean, lower levels might be rough for civilians, but... this crew? No worries."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina steps on as well*
<Alicia> * Charlotte and Sparkling step on quickly, Ceilidh a little more tentatively
<DeathStar> *the corner of the elevator has what looks to be a pamplet and a map of the city and so Taiga quietly takes one - it seems to be showing a map of the city as well as the reconstruction efforts*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Yes, a crew of school students of various age levels."
<DeathStar> *Ren stretches out, riding on Charlotte still*
<Seraphna> **Si pats Ren**
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Well, we have three maka. That's good."
<Seraphna> Jaime> And a Summoni.
<Seraphna> Thena> And a Princess!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And a student council president."
<Seraphna> Jaime> You know... I’m a Princess too...
<Seraphna> Thena> I called it first!
<DeathStar> *the elevator platform goes downward and Nicolette would get her first few of the middle level. It seems to have been turned more into a middle class suburb level, at least on this quad. There's still businesses and whatnot, and there's holes in places on the upper plates to let in natural sunlight, and there that fails artifical light is made to light it up. There's greenery here as well and the same construction effort. Some of their passagers get off here, then they go lower, to the bottom level (cont)
<DeathStar> *the bottom level, where once it was a more darker and depressed slum level seems to be getting the most work. The older city that the had layer after layer built upon, it is clear it would cost tons to do a lot down here, so it seems Ymir and Ylva have opened up areas to restore some sunlight down here and artifical light, and what places they can, even if it means tearing down abandoned buildings to do so, have added some parks and lakes, and made it more liveable. And they have made a point of offering money to people who want to reinnovate and start businesses down here. So far, it looks like only some of the area has taken the bait.*
<DeathStar> *leaving a lot of it much like Nicolette has remembered*
<DeathStar> *at least it is sunnier and greener*
<Seraphna> Jaime> This is like a failed business mall on one of Loki’s worlds.
<Seraphna> Jaime> The green is nice though.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Hm. I imagine it would take a lot of creds to fully do something.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well, where is this magic incident?"
<KAS> <Nicolette> "Wow... it's starting to seem like an functional city..."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "They're still working on it. I'm sure it'll look much better in a while."

<DeathStar> *Taiga walks away from the elevator platform as it rises*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Well, according to the files, this way.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I really like the way they're refitting the place."

<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "What's up?"
<DeathStar> *she leads them toward a part of the slums that has not had work on yet. Sabrina hurries to catch up and soon they arrive at any area that Sparkling and Nicolette would feel the taste of wrong magic in the air - like something was purposely done here. The others, though, would see the result. The street seems to be all wrong, like it was liquidfied for a time, then made solid, and people seem to be half buried - dead - and some were liquified as well when it happened. The buildings having sunk into the street and had the same thing happen, too. Who knows how many were completely liquified*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "...and this is what exactly?"

<DeathStar> <Taiga> People claimed that they heard words chanted and then this happened

<Jackieness> <Noire> "mmmm-hmmm.. and there goal here is... what?"
<KAS> <Nicolette> *manifests her rod with a flick of her wrist*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *eyes Noire* Finding clues I'm helping at one of the sights
<Alicia> * Ceilidh theorises.

<DeathStar> <Taiga> I don't think someone can just roll in and do this without leaving some evidence behind
<Jackieness> <Noire> "But I don't see what their goal could possibly be."
<Seraphna> **Jaime peers around and feels out** If it was chanting I don’t suspect anything spirit was in play.
<Alicia> * Ceilidh moves to assist Taiga in the search, while Sparkling feels for stronger areas in the magic
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I hope the search might turn up that goal. It does seem odd to purposely attack people, unless that is the point
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "It could be, but I hope not."
<DeathStar> *Sparkling comes across something under the ground*
<DeathStar> *Taiga and Ceilidh look around and spot someone spying on the group*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Do you have something, Spark?
<Alicia> <SParkling> "Something over here, buried."
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Um. Hm. Think it's safe to unbury it?
<DeathStar> *Ren yips noisly like a fox to alert the team to them being spied on*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What?" *looks around*
<Alicia> * Charlotte looks around for the spy, trying to avoid looking like she's noticed them though.
<DeathStar> *it seems to be younger person, maybe in their 10-12 year old range. The boy jerks and stumbles*
<Seraphna> **Jaime blinks, narrows her eyes, and tries to bring their watcher over to them with TK**
<DeathStar> *then is TKed and flails*
<DeathStar> <Kid> Let me go!
<Seraphna> Jaime> What’s your name kiddo?
<DeathStar> <Kid> *eyes Jaime* Let me go, you big breasted old lady
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "And why are you spying on us?"
<Seraphna> Jaime> Old!? I barely look 19 right now!

<Seraphna> **Jaime looks for a lake to dump him in**

<DeathStar> *Sabrina helps with the spot Sparkling found and underneath is a strange dark symbol and she pales. There is even something in the middle*

<DeathStar> <Kid> Le-Let me go. *he flails as Jaime carries him toward a lake* I-I saw some woman. S-She had magic powers and killed them
<DeathStar> *Sabrina looks at Sparkling* Do you know what this is?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Tell us what she looked like."
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "I haven't seen one before, but it's definitely a magical sigil or rune."
<DeathStar> <Kid> Uh, she had like evil eyes, and she seemed r-really crazy (like this lady) and I think she really enjoyed hurting these people. I think she had purpleish black hair. *flails*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It's a Makai symbol. Old fashioned I think. You draw it when you want to target someone
<Seraphna> Jaime> **floats him upside down**
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Or targt a place that belongs to someone
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Anything else?"
<DeathStar> <Kid> N-Nothing. *flails* She left after that
<KAS> <Nicolette> "Wait... a Makai is targeting people here?"
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Good thing we came then!"
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> I guess. I don't know that much. I just remember in history class that if you want to hurt a person, you can target things related to a person with this symbol
<Seraphna> **Jaime frowns** Apologize and I will forgive you. Else it is... bath time.
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> You start small then narrow in. *she points at the thing in the middle and it looks like a coin*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Let him go then."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Very Erevis."
<Seraphna> Thena> Jaime scary when she channels grandma.
<DeathStar> <Kid> I'm sorry (that you're a crazy boob lady)
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "So, is the coin related to the person then?"

<Seraphna> **Jaime dunks him before setting him down**
<DeathStar> *The kid coughs and runs off*

<DeathStar> *they move on and Taiga muses*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "The net one then... perhaps it might reveal a connection and who or what the true target is."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I really should learn more about how magic works.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> If you can do curses with a simple coin
<Seraphna> Si> Hmm, I can do amazing things with a candle.
<DeathStar> *Ren tilts head at Noire* The Net one?
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Please don't use curses."
<DeathStar> *they arrive on the street with the cursed orphanage and find it been cursed with a fog of some sorts and there's howling inside.*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Net one?"
<DeathStar> <Ren>You said the net one then.

<Seraphna> Si> Creeeeepy.
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Werewolves?"

<DeathStar> *She pauses, eyeing the fog. Then looks a little odd as she nears the fog - as does Taiga, looking as if it is effecting them; inside the fog, they can see raving dogs and even Dog Fauna moving and looking all posses. The Dog Fauna having blood dripping from their mouths*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> Ahhh... ungh... *she kneels*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm..." *lashes out two tentacles and yanks them back out*
<Alicia> <Ceilidh> "Wolves... though these look more like dogs." *pauses* "Taiga, are you alright?" *moves the check*
<DeathStar> *Taiga bites at Ceilidh's throat right as Noire gets her and Ren out of range*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Ah... what? *she blinks, her head clearing*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *trembles, clearly not fully clear of the effects*
<DeathStar> <Ren> *looks a little off too* <Sabrina> I think that fog is doing something
<DeathStar> *she says - understatement*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Apparently the curse specifically affects those with lupine or canid traits."
<Alicia> * Ceilidh nods quietly, still a little stunned from what happened
<DeathStar> <Taiga> S-Sorry. My mind just went red...
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Forgive me, Ceilidh.
<Seraphna> **Si blinks** This is getting real weird. And save the biting for later dear.
<DeathStar> *she looks shaky and shocked, holding her hands, applying pressure*
<DeathStar> *as she says that, the Dog Fauna, and another approach the group*

<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Maybe if we destroy it?
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Do you think they'll recover if out of the area?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... ask them."
<DeathStar> *as Noire says that, one of the Dog Faun leaps for Sparkling*
<DeathStar> *biting for her throat*
<Alicia> * Sparkling ducks low to the ground to avoid the leap
<Seraphna> Thena> **frowns and tries to it the cute angry puppies to sleep**

<KAS> * Nicolette casts an earth spell, raising up walls of concrete around the fauna
<Alicia> <CHarlotte> "I am so going to hurt this Makai when I find her."
<Jackieness> <Noire> *lashes with tentacles to try to pin the fauna*
<DeathStar> *it skids and as Sparkling avoids it, As Nicolette traps the faunas, the non sleepy one slamming against the wall, but then it howls, unable to do so, the other snoozes*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> W-We got a reprieve. Can one of you find the Makai thing
<DeathStar> *she seems to be doing breathing techniques*
<Alicia> * Sparkling looks for the Makai sign
<Seraphna> Thena> Whoever did this getting spanking.
<DeathStar> *As Sparkling moves deeper into the fog with Sabrina, having trouble finding it this time, a third dog leaps out and tackles her*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Spark!
<DeathStar> *Sabrina takes aim with her magic wand, trying to line up the shot*
<Alicia> * Sparkling struggles against the dog, hoping to try to purify it, but having to leave it up to Sabrina
<DeathStar> *Sabrina fires and hits the doggo in the back, freeing her*
<DeathStar> *the Dog Fauna falling over and KOed. Sabrina then heals it*
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Thanks! We really have to hurry though." *continues looking for the sign*
<DeathStar> *As Sparkling lays there, she would see a figure in the fog - that looks like the one the kid described, studying her with interest, and an evil grin. As they turn around and vanish into the dog, the makai mark is on the orphanage wall*
<Alicia> * Sparkling quickly removes the mark, hoping it cancels the spell
<DeathStar> *the fog vanishes and Sparkling would see what looks like a playing card*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> We did it
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I feel better now
<DeathStar> *she stands up and the dogs in the area wander off, looking normal again*
<KAS> <Nicolette> "Hey... what's that?"
<DeathStar> *Sabrina hands Nicolette the playing card* Sparkling found this
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "A coin, and now a playing card..."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Are they targetting a gambler?
<KAS> <Nicolette> "Are they trying to advertise a Makai casino or something?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "An *evil* casino."
<KAS> <Nicolette> "I mean... I did say Makai."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I dont know. For now, lets go back to the club and recover. *she sounds tired and moves along toward the elevator*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "OR does anyone hold a grudge against you, Queen of Card Magic?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Wait, you think this is about Nico?
<Seraphna> **Si carries Taiga**
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> *looks worried*
<KAS> <Nicolette> "...eheh... I was kinda hoping that part was my imagination running wild."

<DeathStar> <Taiga> If it's about you, Nicolette. Sabrina said if they want to curse you, they start off small then go to bigger things in your life. I would imagine the biggest things in your life now is Geyze
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "...I was wondering if it was someone Nico knew, but there's usually only one Maka per planet..."
<KAS> <Nicolette> "You think they're really trying to mess with me? I can't think what I'd done for such a grudge."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Replaced them as this world's maka?"
<DeathStar> *As the group enters the elevator to ride up, Sparkling would feel a brief pain in her head like something pulled some of her hair - but there is only shadows*
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "...oh. Owww."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "So, if it is about you, we need to know what you value."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina thinks* Makai are not like Zayne. Zayne is a Makai that believes in a twisted justice version of us Maka. Normal Makai hate Maka in general. They are just evil for the sake of evil. They hate us because we repesent good - what they were once. The light to their dark. They fell into despair
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> She might just hate Nicolette because she is there to hate.
<Seraphna> Thena> Sounds like they need Mew Mew Kitty Love.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Tell me... did you have a connection to that old orphanage?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "... somehow, I can understand that."

<Jackieness> <Noire> "it could have been used as a convenient proxy then."

<Alicia> <Sparkling> "We're working on catching the culprit."
<DeathStar> *Ymir writes something down and hands it to them - her number* If you need anything the next time you come here.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...maybe because you did cardtricks for loose change, perhaps?"
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> And the street corner was where Nico did it?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I could use one thing. *talks about the records on the two orphanages*

<DeathStar> *Ymir moves to go to the tall Macross Building that looms over Quad 1*
<KAS> <Nicolette> "I... yeah. I did do that a while..."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "For... a spare coin."
<DeathStar> *Sabrina hugs Nicolette* Come on. We'll stop her. And protect Nico!

There is one article. *she brings it up and it looks like she might have been into perfomance and arts. *brings up the article where she interested a contest, perhaps trying to get into the higher level - it doesn't read how it came out*

<DeathStar> *Nicolette would see Sparkling is suffering from a level 1 curse, meaning it's not doing much of anything to her power or mentality - much like she seems to have a level 1 curse on her right now*

<KAS> <Nicolette>> "...yep, definitely a curse. Expect bad luck."

<DeathStar> *after a while, the team arrives in a crater from the power of Sparkling. Sabrina stares, and the area feels sick with dark magic energy. The moon's atmosphere, being done by EarthGov, is being reverted to no atmosphere and the moon looks like it's cracking*

<DeathStar> *down in the moon dust is the signal, with the hair tied up around what looks like a dead rabbit*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...overkill... and I'm a Dakr One saying this is overkill."

<DeathStar> *The Daimon Bunny bounces and runs around, getting caught up; Sabrina blasts it with magic beams*
<DeathStar> *then hit by Sparkling's*
<KAS> * Nicolette calls upon the cards to try to hold down the quick bunny
<Seraphna> Thena> **Thena records everything with her datapad**
<DeathStar> *The Quick Bunny is slowed and has trouble escaping as then Ren and Taiga combo attack it with their weapons. It burns dark magic*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *tries to keep it pinned with her dark tendrils*
<DeathStar> *makes a rabbit noise*
<DeathStar> *of evilness*
<Seraphna> **Si counters with cute bunny noises, of goodness**
<DeathStar> *Sabrina quickly begins to get rid of the sigil and helps do what Sparkling set out to do*
<DeathStar> *the Daimon lunges slowly against the tentacles for Sparkling*
<DeathStar> *seemingly wanting to get her*
<Seraphna> **Si counters for real with a downward wheel kick**
<Jackieness> <Noire> "If you don't deal with this soon... I will eati it, I swear!"
<DeathStar> *The Quick Bunny flails off and begins to dissolve, especially with the Sigil gone*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... I .. .am beginning ... to dislike evil...magic

<DeathStar> *as she and Ren leave - Sabrina heading with Sparkling and Nicolette, since she is currently assigned to Geyze to help with the Maka Project, she doesn't notice undernearh the ravine, there's a slight rumbling as a body is there - Tsukiyomi's lays there. And her eye lid twitches slightly*

<DeathStar> *Sabrina trudges with Nicolette and Sparkling back toward the rooms on the Academy*

<KAS> <Nicolette> "Ah! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I was worried things might be too... hmm... rural?"
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "I'm just glad to be back."
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> It's really nice here. *As they are walking, a purpled hair student watches them from the crowd, maybe a slight flicker of magic being detected by them - but even with it being summer and the academy weeded out, there's still plenty of students*
<DeathStar> *the woman watches and holds a magician's hat, looking wrong with her look, then looks to see where all Nicolette hangs out, studying her movements, as if waiting to see where to place the hat*
<DeathStar> *then moves to fade into the crowd*
<KAS> <Nicolette> "I'm not sure if the academy is more my home, or my home away from home, these days. Even though classes are mostly out right now."
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> You look like you love learning, or is it just me?
<DeathStar> *she stops at their rooms*
<KAS> <Nicolette> *nods* "Definitely. The more you know of the why of things, the less unfair things seem."
<Alicia> <Sparkling> "Oh?"
