* ChadWinters leans back in his chair, glancing down at his datapad briefly
<DeathStar> *she gives a bright smile, her tails waving little cute decorations at the ends of them. Shion hands Jaime a slice of a cake off her plate*

<Chaintan> <Kitty> Just be sure to use the coasters and plates...6*After the agreement they made, the rest of the space was now a functional and stylish meeting place, that Kitty wanted to keep orderly.

<DeathStar> *Shion motions at Valen to sit down to join the meeting as she and Bix handle getting coin out of the hungry team. Isis gets a sub out of Bix, giving him some coins*

<Seraphna> **Si fuus and flicks her fingers, producing a small flame** What was that, "Uncie" Chad?
<Xanatos> 6* Bix doots a pre-recorder 'Thank you' tone to Isis as he hands over the food and takes the money.
<DeathStar> *after everyone is taken care of Shion sits down to watch the meeting, fascinated*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen takes off his apron and sits down, looking around he puts the apron over his face and leans back.
<Seraphna> **Jaime whispers** Who had the betting pool that it'd be Si that finally beats up Chad?
* ChadWinters rolls his eyes at the 'threat', and slips his datapad onto his belt as he leans back.

<Ariel> <Nicolette> "Wait... the crocodiles have started on drugs too? Are the monitor lizards next? This might be an epidemic."
<Seraphna> Si> COuld be Komodo Dragons next.

<Seraphna> Jaime> What if Meth got introduced to actual dragons? Then we'd really be in for it.

<DeathStar> *while they all talk, the door opens and X walks in with Hess behind her. She seems to be eyeing the group, sees Chad there, then the rest and the Meth Gators, and seems to be arguing with Hess about something*

They are that old - probably older. *she thinks on that* They likely had a hand in cloning - like Adeline. They probably had a hand in helping Cran make the dragoons like Cheryl and the others.

<DeathStar> <X> Basically, they have been master puppeteers. I been spending the past year going through their files since I helped with the case. The Weapons. They had a hand in making us Weapons.
<DeathStar> <X> *she thumbs herself* Me, Spirit, Dias, and so on. We weren't made in some lab, we were taken and made into weapons. I been trying to learn who my birth parents are. *she nods at Kitty and Hess* Who their other family lineage is

<DeathStar> *X pats Hess, smiling, then peers at Chad* ... Yes.

<DeathStar> *Adeline nods to Jaime as X inputs an address. The first few times it refuses before it finally accepts*
* ChadWinters studies her for a moment, then nods. 1"Just be prepared for disappointment."
<DeathStar> <X> It is showing. *the teleporter opens up and X eyes Chad* You the rain before a rainbow. It is why I didn't want you to get me too wet. I should have let Dias come along

<Seraphna> Angela> Yeah, you might find out Chad shot your parents too. **she raises an eyebrow, then steps through**

<DeathStar> *Adeline and Sabrina follows and Taiga steps through as well; they find themselves on a run down street in a small city outside Mega City; the buildings all look run down in this neighborhood and X studies Chad as she heads from the platform to the location*
* ChadWinters walks along. 1"In that analogy, I'm a good thing, X. 6He glances over at Angela. 1"That's a possibility too."

<KAS_> * Nicolette seems a little uncertain about this company as she tags along... so open about murder.

<DeathStar> *Sabrina clings to Nicolette as they walk along*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *peers at the others* Chad is the type of person to do whatever needs to be done and is this mysteriously vague about it. It makes it hard to read what his gameplan is - on purpose
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'm the opposite. I'm just bitchy about my gameplan
<DeathStar> *Taiga walks along, peering at the buildings, looking tired and run down - the opposite of Hess*
<Seraphna> Si> And Mom is some kinda saint for looking past what he's done. **she huffs**
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It's why I've invited him to all our family reunions. To make them awkward.
<ChadWinters> Here I thought you wanted to get to know me. 6He fakes a hurt look.
<DeathStar> *they eventually reach one particullarly run down building that looks ready to fall apart, yet if you study it just close enough you would notice certain things - the front door is made of steel, the windows are barred and look fortified, and other trhings*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> You learn a lot when people are on edge. *She kneels*
<KAS_> <Nicolette> "Those... must be some reunions." *starting to picture a bunch of movie serial killers hanging out*
<DeathStar> *Sabrina shudders*
* ChadWinters smirks a bit at that as he glances at the windows and door. 1"This might be it."

<DeathStar> *they find themselves in a dipilated building that looks ready to fall apart outside one section (moving a little faster now since 15 minute pause) that looks to be sturdier*
<DeathStar> *the floor there looks to be in good shape*

<Xanatos> <Valen> I feel like I'm going to get infected by mold or something.

<DeathStar> <Sabrina> *nods* I can give you a magical shot
<DeathStar> *She forms a magical needle*

<ChadWinters> I'd suggest not breathing in too much then, kid

* ChadWinters moves over there, eyeing the wall for any hidden switches
<Xanatos> 6* Valen goes wide-eyed at the needle, looking quickly for a place to flee too

<DeathStar> *Sabrina peers at Nicolette* What is wrong with him? It has magical stuff
<DeathStar> *she gives the shot to Valen and he'd feel stronger and healthy*
<DeathStar> *Chad would find one behind a rotting picture and the floor opens*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen squirms and then lets out a pathetic sound, before slumping even though he should feel better.

<Seraphna> **Jaime sighs and taps Valen** Nah, he's just a bit of a wimp.

* ChadWinters moves down the steps, glancing about as they walk
<DeathStar> *Adeline walks down after Taiga and the others. Taiga keeps recording it; as they walk inside they would see something out of a horror film. Beds with medical equipment and needles and scaples and horror stuff for each. And straps - and all kids sized. Some are even a little bloody*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> ... *she jerks, going into magical girl sword form automatically*
* ChadWinters moves over to a bed, eyeing the blood.
<Xanatos> <Valen> ...I was about to rant about my childhood and how I'm emotionally stunted....but suddenly that feels luxurious compared to this place.
<Seraphna> Jaime> Well this is dank... **She seems remarkably cool about this**
<Seraphna> **Angela however, blanches**
<DeathStar> *Taiga records it all while X moves to lean against a bed*
* ChadWinters glances over at Angela, shaking his head slightly at that before glancing over at other stuff. 1"Having any repressed memories, X?"
<DeathStar> *X peers up* Repressed? Hm. *she taps this bed* I think this was probably my bed.
<ChadWinters> Well, I doesn't appear they cleaned up, I'm sure if we scanned, we'd probably find your DNA here."

<DeathStar> *the back room has cameras and equipment set up to monitor the beds and equipment, as well computers set up*

<ChadWinters> Hmmm. 6He moves over to the computers, and takes a seat at one, glancing around for an access port
<DeathStar> *there is indeed one. Adeline muses*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I bet what we want is on these computers. *she begins to try to boot them up and the old computers come online*
<DeathStar> *X quietly plays with the small bed before moving to the back room. Sabrina turns to Nicolette* There is a lot of evil in this world.
<Seraphna> Jaime> Wow, old tech. Should be a breeze for you right Addy?
<ChadWinters> Should be. I'll refrain from trying to download everything until we've got them up and running
* ChadWinters works with Adeline to get the systems up and running
<DeathStar> *Adeline quietly works with Chad and soon the computer systems are online. And the folders and files are on. X peers at Hess*

<ChadWinters> I've been chasing our past around for the last 20 years. I've learned to temper my feelings on what I find.
<DeathStar> *Sabrina plays with her wand in thought, an odd expression*
<DeathStar> *Adeline brings up video folders and subject folders with information*

<DeathStar> <Sabrina> Nicolette. What do you do as a Maka in the face of this?
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Video or subject files?
<ChadWinters> She wants to know who her parents are, subject file should give us that with a potential linked video.
<DeathStar> *as they are looking, Valen and others out near the beds would hear a sound*
<Xanatos> <Valen> WAT!? 6* He jerks around, looking.
<Seraphna> **Thena peers around**
<Seraphna> Thena> Oh no, is the skeleton inside Valen getting out?
<DeathStar> *Adeline begins to go through the files and opens up an X file - it shows X laying in a bed - a normal bed, with black hair, looking drugged out of her mind. She appears to be 7ish at best and a doctor is talking*
<DeathStar> *a robotic spider drone is walking on the ceiling and scanning for intruders. It begins to move it's beams over them*
<Seraphna> **Thena blinks out and is clinging on the ceiling behind it, like a cat, she is now ceiling cat**
* ChadWinters eyes the doctor for a moment. 1"Hmmm."
<DeathStar> <Doctor> Subject was found on the streets. Believed to have run away from home. *the doctor seems to be going over blood type and other stuff* Meets all the criteria for the weapon progam. Likelyhood of being a problem with authorities - little. We will use her. *the video ends*
<DeathStar> *and the file goes over how well X adapted to the drugs and experiments*
<DeathStar> *the spider drone doesn't detect Thena and scans over Valen and goes into alert mode and begins to aim an old laser at him
<DeathStar> *firing*
<Seraphna> **Thena gently puts a hand on the back of the drone and teleports it outside to the roof**
<Xanatos> <Valen> HEY! 6* He duck behind his shield, backing up.
<KAS_> <Nicolette> "I've never had to deal with something like this before..."
<DeathStar> *begore it vanishes, firing out somewhere else*
<DeathStar> <Sabrina> ... *nods, musing*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> No names. Just subject this and subject that
<DeathStar> <Adeline> It does list where she ran away from though

<Seraphna> **Thena then rises up and kicks it up into the air, forming motes of Hyperspace around it and blasting it to shreds, making sure it's well of from their position, then teleports back, looking tired after all that**
<DeathStar> *Adeline nods and inputs the city into their datapads*

<Seraphna> Thena> Valen owes me slushie shake. Strawberry. **flops**
* ChadWinters hooks his datapad up and begins to download everything he can. 1"I'll make a copy of everything, see if anything else pops up."

<DeathStar> *she eyes the city - some place in the mountains*

<DeathStar> *peering back one more time at the dungeon, before stepping out; Sabrina looks up* Did something happen? *clueless*

<DeathStar> *jumping ahead, the group is now in a mountain region, having had to fly there due to lack of teleporters*

<DeathStar> *X lands the shuttle outside a small village*

<Seraphna> **Angela peers about too as she hops out, Jaime hmms, closing her eyes and gently digging her toes into the ground a bit**
<DeathStar> *as they approach they see stuff hanging up - many of it Japanese and Asian stuff, some North American. Adeline studies the various objects hanging, some looking ominious*
<Seraphna> Jaime> This is more like it... **she extends her awareness into the ground around them**
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Huh. We are still in the North American state, right?
<Xanatos> <Valen> I was about to say the old guy is being paranoid, but then I saw a bunch of shit hanging up...
<Seraphna> Jaime> Yeah.
<DeathStar> *Taiga taps the head set to make sure a signal to the PAX is still working as they approach*

<ChadWinters> I don't like the risk of taking a homeless kid in such a remote area. And usually, I don't trust what I dig up on our project with out researching it first.
<DeathStar> *as they approach the village, the day light is a little low - eveningish and they see people moving about - farming and doing stuff. There is some tech but not a lot*
<DeathStar> *this is clearly a village that rejects modern technology outside what is absolutely needed*
<Seraphna> Jaime> Is this a commune? **she seems at peace here**
<DeathStar> *it is a mix of races, a lot of Asian races and some North American and European State races. It might explain why X had black hair in the video instead of purple hair*

<DeathStar> <Adeline> Just that she was round near the mountain and claimed to have run away
<DeathStar> <Adeline> And taken to MEga City

<ChadWinters> Just the area. But we do have a picture of her as a child I was able to crop out.
<Seraphna> Jaime> A commune wouldn't reach out too far to look either... they prefer to keep the state out.
<DeathStar> *the farmers take note of them and some frown - clearly not fond of outsiders and keep working. There is a some church or religious building set up or commune*

* ChadWinters pulls out his datapad, showing a picture of X he pulled from the video feeds
<DeathStar> <Man> Well, sometimes due to the steepness of this village climb people fall off and are not recovered easiily. We believe that happened around that time frame. *He studies the picture* Yes. A girl like that fell down that mountain most likely

<DeathStar> <Man> Oh no. They are dead, I'm afraid. But their children are alive. And their children

<DeathStar> *The man studies and nods, patting Chad's shoulder* You have an honest face. Of course

<Xanatos> 6* Valen chokes and starts coughing, turning his back to the group.
<DeathStar> *Sabrina helps Valen, still blinded by Taia*
<DeathStar> *The villagers study the group as they walk along - all wearing robes. They pass a cafe of sorts - for this village - where they see a man eating a sandwich.*
<ChadWinters> I imagine her parents were worried? 6He glances to the man
<Chaintan> <Hess>...weird to see the hoods and robes...and still have a dinner

<DeathStar> <Man> After we determined she most likely died falling, they found peace their own way. *he notes* It is a hard life here. *knocking on the door, some people in robes open the door - younger people with dark hair that look a lot like X and a bit like Hess*
<Seraphna> **Jaime walks along, barefoot, wearing a gossamer green gown, a few leaves in her hair, looking the exact opposite of the rest likely**
<DeathStar> <Man> These fine people wish to speak with you. *He bows and moves to leave. The people inside invite them and X sees there are two younger people - about Hess' age and two people about X's age, all with dark hair*
<DeathStar> *The furniture is plain and simple, with the beds cots - with no sign of entertainment*

<ChadWinters> I'm good. 6He goes to say something then stops when X starts speaking. He shifts to the back a bit, watching X with a neutral look.

<Seraphna> **Thena uses Taiga's lap and by the time they get to Jaime she mysteriously has a fine chair seemingly made of stone**
<DeathStar> *The older male of the group nods* Yes. We believe she fell to her death. The path is quite treacherous. <X> Why? <Man> Well... what else could have happened?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen awkwardly sits on a wooden fruit crate.

<DeathStar> *Sabrina gathers her magical wand and moves to the door, stepping out into the warm air and TAiga and adeline follow, Adeline musing the entire time. The entire village's lights are out*

<Xanatos> <Valen> Goodbye forever. 6* He says as he waves to X's family, smiling as he steps out.

<DeathStar> *as they step away, the lights turn off in the house too*

<Xanatos> <Valen> So like, these people afraid of monsters....?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I wonder. <Adeline> Or something else. I noticed their crops are excellent. And I researched their wards - it is warding off monsters and asking for blessings for crops.
<DeathStar> *as they walk along, they hear the sounds of animals and the air feels thick and heavy - dangerous almost as they near the shuttle*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Maybe Chad with his honest face was sacrificed?
<DeathStar> <Adeline> They do that in small villages right? Human sacrifice
<Xanatos> <Valen> In school I had to read about this thing that some ancient earth people did where old people sacrificed themselves to their gods by jumping off of a cliffs. Something about perserving the youth and growth of the community.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> They did talk about a lot of falling off of cliffs
<DeathStar> *they finally reach the shuttle and no sign of Chad yet*
<DeathStar> <X> ... I sure hope Chad is inside...
<DeathStar> *she reaches for the ramp button*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> And if he isn't? <X> Bitter crops for them this year.

<DeathStar> *Sabrina jerks and falls on her rump, going magical girl as they see Chad sitting on a crate doing his sacreative thing. A cat seems to have snuck in and is knocking things over*

<Xanatos> <Valen> I totally get running away from a place like that. I almost ran away from the tree once, then realized I had no idea where to go or how to even get off of there.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> .... *she leans back in her seat* I guess we should do more cases helping people solve personal stuff. *she glances at the team* If you all have personal stuff you need help on come to me
<DeathStar> *Rachael studies Valen* Really? *she eyes her black nails*
* ChadWinters leans back in his chair, eyeing his datapad intently.
