<Sara> <Kaori> Oh, okay. *her ears twitch*
<DeathStar> *Ren gently puts the box on the table and taps it* I think they might have been after THIS! *She says dramatically*

<DeathStar> *Ren opens it up and reveals an old timey camera obscura type; Taiga jerks with how Ren swings it around, afraid she might break it due to how old it is* <Taiga> That thing is hundreds of years old, becareful!

<DeathStar> *Ren burns away stuff in front of them and soon they come across a forest as the fog comes in and night falls*
<Seraphna> Si> Yeah I heard if you cause forest fires an evil bear spirit called Smokey will get you.

<Jackieness> <Noire> "I am now prepared." *wearing a shrine maiden outfit for some reason*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> *sighs and snaps her fingers, glamoring herself into a shrine like look*

<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps off of the shuttle* "I am Noire, the Shrine Maiden of Darkness."
<Seraphna> **Jaime shrugs, her clothes forming into a similar outfit**

<DeathStar> *Ren pushes the doors open to the manor and it creaks open*
<Seraphna> **Si twirls and is in... a Superhero Outfit**

<Chaintan> 6*Hess looks at Kaori and waits
<DeathStar> *the Japanese manor looks broken and run down and the air is... repressive*

<Chaintan> 6*Hess starts to fluster a little
<Sara> <Kaori> ... Gonna cosplay, you mean? ... *she eyes the others*

<Sara> * Kaori gets an outfit off of the shuttle -- or something
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty whistles to the stragglers as they move towards the fog

<Chaintan> 6*Hess is all smiles, but carries Kaori to join the others

<Seraphna> **Thena pops among them in a Shrine Maiden Outfit**

<DeathStar> *the dog creeps into the manor as they step inside. The entry room of the manor feels wrong.*
<DeathStar> *the oppressive air increasing*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I don't like this
<DeathStar> <Taiga> This manor wants us out
<Sara> <Kaori> They always do!
<DeathStar> *Taiga brings out the tools of salt and talismen*
<DeathStar> *when she suddenly is hit by something and goes flying*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> urk
<Chaintan> <Kitty>hand me the camera
<DeathStar> *Ren pauses and does so*
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty brings it up to look
<DeathStar> *Kitty would see the entire entry room is filled with ghosts*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> Ghost convention
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves to take up the salt and talsman that Taiga dropped*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess sets down Kaori
<DeathStar> *behind them, the military group drives up to the manor and around it - oddly. One of the men in black fires something into the manor to rile the ghosts up as they continue*
<DeathStar> *Taiga stands up*
<Chaintan> <Hess> cant fox fire like...scare or wrangle up spirits?
<Jackieness> <Noire> *scatters the salt around in a circle* "...bakana...hear that from outside?"
<DeathStar> *the ghosts, through the camera, seem to get aggroed*
<DeathStar> <Ren> It's them. *the ghosts seem to be pushing their luck with the salt while Taiga and Ren form foxfire*
<DeathStar> *Trying to deal with the spirits*
<DeathStar> <X> How about I just burn this place down?
<Seraphna> **Jaime muses** With us in it?
<Jackieness> <Noire> *gathers the talismans in her hands and then forms her tendrils, each one holding one of the wards as she sends them outward*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> normally id agree mom, but maybe when we arent inside
<Chaintan> <Kitty> plus, the ghosts seem more mad now
<DeathStar> *Noire spreads out and manages to push the ghosts away a bit*
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty squeezes the camera a little
<DeathStar> *Taiga and Ren shoot the foxfire out to get them to back off, but Kitty's actions seem to actually hurt the ghosts as it flashes , taking a picture. The ghosts recoil*
<DeathStar> *sending them far back as a picture slowly developes of a room full of ghosts appear*
<DeathStar> <X> It looks like we have an opening to get out now
<Jackieness> <Noire> "X, might I suggest you give our well-equipped rivals outside a warm welcome?"
<Chaintan> 6*Hess and Kitty both cough from the camera's flash going off
<DeathStar> <Taiga> My eeeeeyyyeees
<DeathStar> *X fires holy arrows all over the room
<DeathStar> *using ripples to do so to begin a fire*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...the ones outside... now... siiiiiigh..."
<DeathStar> *Taiga grabs Si and backs out the entrance into the the woods*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess snags Kaori and anyone else before rippling out
<Seraphna> **Jaime and Thena teleport to the woods, grabbing people**
<DeathStar> *Ren gets out as the manor burns. The ghosts inside are not pleased, but what can they do?*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... *rubs eyes* So that they can hurt ghosts?
<Sara> * Kaori is all swirly-eyed
<DeathStar> *that thing
<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps outside the mansion, looking cross*
<Sara> <Kaori> ... Well, I guess that went sideways
<Chaintan> <Hess> real side ways, but why is the military coming out here anyway
<DeathStar> <X> Why are there not more of those small camera boxes?
<DeathStar> <Ren> I don't think they're military, but that supernatural task force.
<DeathStar> <Ren> Here to grab some ghosts
<Chaintan> <Kitty> theyre relics mom, they dont make any more and to be honest, technology improved. Before you had to hold still for ages to not have a blurry picture
<Sara> <Kaori> What, like some kind of... R.I.P.D?
<Chaintan> 6*Hess snorts a little
<Chaintan> <Hess> if they arent in shape, im gonna claim false advertisement
<DeathStar> *Ren walks with the group around the manor and they soon come across a massive village, where they find the military van parked - no sign of the men in black.*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I am, however... annoyed... agitated... angry..."
<Seraphna> Jaime> Well we can always screw their ride.
<DeathStar> *the fog covers the massive japanese village, but the thing to note - it looks abandoned*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...oh... cna I? Please? Can I?"
<DeathStar> <X> Go ahead
<Chaintan> <Kitty> you want to trash their cars?
<DeathStar> *the village is dead silent as the group nears it. Likely unearthly silent*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... aren't forests like usually more noisy?
<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps forward with a wicked grin, forming her tendrils and then stabbing then at the van*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> not always
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty lifts up camera
<DeathStar> *Kitty would see the occasional ghost here or there. It's definitely haunted. But not massively. There seems to be activity down by the village square where Taiga is headed - the square having a statue of two people that is drawing her eye*
<DeathStar> *and the fog is getting worse. Infact, the group cannot even see the manor anymore behind them. It's so bad, it feels like it's just the village now*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> well...less densely packed with spirits but they seem to be keeping clear of us
<DeathStar> <Ren> Wonder why...
<Chaintan> <Kitty> we have a few miko...and one is actively trashing a van
<Chaintan> <Hess> and we set the manor on fire
<DeathStar> *Taiga calls out* These statues - they seem to be of twins. Twin mikos.
<Chaintan> <Kitty> that too
<Jackieness> <Noire> *has her tendrils drop a tire and then turns to follow the others* "I have regained my satori."
<DeathStar> *Taiga eyes Noire*
<Sara> * Kaori waves around a gohei
<DeathStar> <Ren> I feel left out
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...what?"
<DeathStar> *Taiga points*

<DeathStar> *During all the commotion, someone who looks like Noire - Reikana, can be seen walking in the distance in a shrine girl outfit, toward the shrine*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Then who is that?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "... ... ...when I left her, she was in her apartment, shooing me out while getting the hot tub ready...Maddie was changing into soemthign comfortable in the mast bath..."
<DeathStar> *as Reikana vanishes in the shrine, there's a male scream in one of the houses*
<DeathStar> <Ren> What do we investigate?
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty swings the camera towards the scream
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Obviously, I'm going to the shrine."
<Seraphna> Jaime> Mmm, the shrine? I find men uninteresting most of the time.
<DeathStar> *through the windowe of the house, is a woman - likely the woman of the house, with a kitchen knife going after a commando*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Shrine
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'll handle the house I guess
<Seraphna> Jaime> You go girl, get that jerk.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "So split up time. Some go with Taiga."
<Seraphna> Si> Like I ever don't.
<DeathStar> *Taiga stealthily creeps to the house*
<DeathStar> *hoping she can sense the ghost without the camera*
<Seraphna> **Si bunnies quietly to the house**
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty follows after Taiga, knowing she probably will get smacked again
<Chaintan> <Hess> lets go to the shrine then
<Sara> <Kaori> Sure.
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads for the shrine*
<DeathStar> *the team heads up the path to the shrine, finding the gate that keeps people out locked*
<DeathStar> *but will a little gate stop them?*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess forms a ripple to go through
<Sara> * Kaori hops in
<DeathStar> *Taiga opens the door to the house and creeps in; all she sees is a knife floating toward the commando, who is shooting at the ghost, the shots slowing it down and preparing tocapture it, but gets a knife in the leg before he does*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *passes through the ripple*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Go team ripple
<DeathStar> *Ren hops in*
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty snaps a picture
<Seraphna> **Jaime hops in**
<DeathStar> *The ghost is snapped and jerks , allowing the commando to do his thing and capture it. He eyes them* <Taiga> I think that commando is a Cobalt - they a mercenary group that does work for anyone.
<Chaintan> <Kitty> so a shittier ghost buster
<Seraphna> Si> Hmmm, are they fireproof?
<Chaintan> <Hess> we see anything?
<Sara> * Kaori waves her gohei around, as if it would do anything
<DeathStar> *the shrine feels oppressive like the manor once they get inside; like it is shrine area looks nice with the twins holding hands, in front of a doorway, the doors to the shrine building itself. The shrine is designed to look scary.*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess makes a face
<DeathStar> *the shrine area has flowers and benches, and probably made to feel nicer for the maidens
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well, I am here." *poses*
<Sara> <Kaori> Something about this shrine feels like it was designed 'to be a shrine' rather than to serve a religion
<DeathStar> <Ren> Yeah I don't get good feelings here
<DeathStar> *Taiga works on questioning the commando after subduing him with Si and Kitty's help* I'll learn about your organization
<DeathStar> *X tries the shrine doors - it appears Reikana has already opened the door*
<DeathStar> *at least her part*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps forward and pushes open the other side of the door*
<DeathStar> *it opens with a creak and there are stairs going downward*
<Chaintan> <Hess> so do you think we'll be 'buffed' for being maidens or targeted?
<DeathStar> <Ren> This feels like a bad idea
<DeathStar> *Ren is then knocked down - ghosts are clearly here*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Why do they hate us?!
<DeathStar> *Kaori is lifted up and dragged off*
<Chaintan> <Hess> Kaokao!
<Sara> <Kaori> Spirits, spirits, calm yourselves! *shakes gohei near Ren* ... Ack! *is dragged* I knew this gohei was faaaaaake---
<Jackieness> <Noire> *turns, holding up one of the talismansofudo talismans in her hand* "Back!"
<DeathStar> *Kaori is let go*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ... how many tailismen did mom bring...?
<DeathStar> *Ren rubs her butt*
<Chaintan> <Hess> hopefully enough
<DeathStar> *Ren stands up*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess attempts Bad Luck on the spirit taking Kaori
<Jackieness> <Noire> *turns toward the stairs* "Clearly I'm the one that it ultimately wants, but it prefers me to go deeper."
<DeathStar> *Hess somehow blows up a spirit. How does she know? She can feel it*
<Chaintan> <Hess> thats...a weird sensation
<DeathStar> *Ren dives down the stairs*
<DeathStar> <X> ....
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...did Ren just do that?"
<Chaintan> <Hess> looks like it
<Chaintan> 6*Hess runs to get Kaori
<DeathStar> *Taiga arrives with the others, handing Kaori a gun the commando was doing*
<DeathStar> *after Hess gets her*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves down the stairs*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It looks like a mercenary group is our enemy and gathering the supernatural.
<Sara> <Kaori> ... *blinks, looking cute and oblivious as she stands there dressed as a Miko but holding a gun*
<Chaintan> 6*Hess puts her hands up
<DeathStar> *Ren and Noire reach the button of the ritual chamber while the others are up top; at that moment, Kitty's chamber makes a ping sound, indicating ghosts*

<Chaintan> 6*Kitty swivels to bring camera up and survey the room
<Chaintan> <Kitty> these ghosts are the worst
<DeathStar> *Kitty would see all around the shrine are tons of villager ghosts, trying to stop more of them from going down the steps to the ritual chamber*
<Sara> <Kaori> They aren't really obeying anything we do... I think they're atheists
<DeathStar> *many of them holding things like pitchforks or scythes*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *looks around the chamber*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I think we made them mad being near the shine
<DeathStar> *X proceeds to walk down the stairs*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> uh...theyre all going to the shrine and it looks like they are not gonna be friendly to the girls
<Seraphna> Si> So... what do we do? I can make a fire wall or something.
<Chaintan> <Hess> in fairness, i think this proves their beliefs werent on the mark
<Chaintan> 6*Hess picks up Kaori
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Hm. Well, I don't have a lot of AOE attacks
<Seraphna> Si> Right, here we go... **She holds up he rhands and starts forming a large fireball**
<Sara> * Kaori makes a little noise but allows Hess to pick her up again
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Also the fog is getting worse.
<Seraphna> **Si sends the fire after the ghosts** Firemancy!
<Chaintan> 6*Hess gives Kaori a brief peck on the brow
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I've yet to see any of the other commandos or hear them
<Chaintan> <Hess> everyone went downstairs
<Sara> * Kaori blushes softly... and checks if the gun she's holding is loaded
<DeathStar> *it seems to be loaded with spirit/ghost energy*
<DeathStar> *she is literally shooting ghost power*
<Sara> <Kaori> In what world is it normal to make guns that shoot ghosts to kill ghosts, which are already dead
<DeathStar> *the gun also feels haunted*
<Chaintan> <Hess> we've dealt with weirder 6*she shrugs as she double times down stairs
<DeathStar> *meanwhile, Noire who went down first, sees Reikana in front of a ritual slab, mumbling to herself* I don't ... want to kill...anymore *very unlike Reikana?*
<DeathStar> *Ren tries to get up but a ghost begins to deal with her, keeping her occupied*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves toward the ritual slab* "Sister, what are you doing here?"
<DeathStar> *Reikana turns to face her; it looks like she is in a state of REM sleep almost the way she is standing there; meanwhile Taiga and Kitty find the elders house and flips through the elders books, where Taiga hands Kitty the elders books* Ritual books. Here. You know more about this than I do
<DeathStar> *Reikana looks almost possessed - if it is her when she lunges for Noire's neck and begins to squeeze*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> then you gotta take the camera
<DeathStar> *At that moment X and Hess/Kaori arrive*
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty holds it to Taiga
<DeathStar> *Taiga grabs it to allow Kitty to look*
<DeathStar> *Taiga leaning out to take pictures*
<Chaintan> 6*Kitty makes a face but quickly reads
<Chaintan> <Hess> Oi!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Nnnnnn!" *forms her tendrils and tries to truss up her sister*
<Sara> * Kaori points spirit gun at Reikana
<Sara> <Kaori> Freeze! Ghost police! You're under arrest! Come out of the body with your hands up!
<DeathStar> *Kitty would see there is a ritual here about one twin killing the other, for protection of the village and great bounty of the crops. This was done every generation of the village - 30 years or so.*
<DeathStar> *Reikana is knocked back and away*
<DeathStar> *but then she moves forward, not giving up*
<DeathStar> <X> You might need to shoot
<DeathStar> *Ren frees herself*
<Sara> <Kaori> Sigh... Don't hate me for this. *she pulls the trigger*
<DeathStar> *Reikana is hit and falls over, something shimmering from her body - a girl like spirit clinging to Reikana*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> The fixation on twins is from a protection ritual
<DeathStar> *Si meanwhile has managed to keep the villagers under control*
<Chaintan> <Kitty> one sacrifices the other
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Great. Probably the dead twin's spirit is still lurking here
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Or a failured ritual
<DeathStar> *Taiga hops off to bring the camera to the shrine* Come on Si

<DeathStar> *It seems straight toward, moving ahead, the path sometimes moving to the right, then at angles; at first it seems it will be a quiet walk, then it pings. Ghosts are in the fog*

<DeathStar> *occasionally a ping is heard now and then but they soon reach almost the end when it goes like mad - the group could probably rush it, but the ghosts are all around. Take it aasy, or run for it?*
