<DeathStar> *Ren blinks, looking up at Kaelan coming from the room, as she tosses another idea onto Charlotte's chest*

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I'm really glad Thena doesn't use shadows."

<DeathStar> *Taiga busts into the room, holding documents, and Adeline follows behind, her long white hair in a ponytail*

<DeathStar> *Taiga pauses, peering to the side* I guess that's one way to look at it. <Ren> Gasp. That means nothing I make Charlotte will satisfy her!?

<DeathStar> *Ren snuggles into her like a cuddly fox*
<Seraphna> **Jaime gives Adeline a cookie**

<DeathStar> <Taiga> *taps the document with the back of her hand* The alien race that was hired to kill Fox - we got them to finally give up the foods even though the war isn't fully over yet what with the Templars and dark creatures running amok still.

<DeathStar> <Taiga> Warren handled the faking Fox's death so it seemed like the transaction was complete and moved Fox's ship to another location for the time being. And then we monitored who met with Fox.

<Jackieness> <Noire> *just stares at Thena*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well, Warren seemed spefically interested in someone who want to go after Fox. *ignores Thena* How much do you know about your mom?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "The Reverse Wolverines were all on Jarivan when it was destroyed. Anyway."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "In what way?"
<DeathStar> *Taiga said that

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Not all of it, but... enough, probably?"
<Seraphna> **Thena gasps** All of the Reverse Wolverines? I should keep an eye out for the Vertical Eagles then.
<Jackieness> <Noire> *adjusts ehr glasses* "Mmmmmm... perhaps we should leave the speculation aside and allow Taiga to continue."
<DeathStar> *Taiga muses* Well she worked for the first PAX station and was accused of murdering Alexander Cran, a false claim back in the day with how much that man faked his death through clones, but she definitely appears to have moved around through organizations
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Sounds like her."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Monitoring the transaction, Warren noted it seemed be an Earth organization. Someone from Earth wanted Fox gone and he isn't sure if it's one of them that was after her - or wanted her gone to make you more pliable down the road

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Yeah, I know."

<DeathStar> *Ren pauses, then whistles*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Someone's pet attack critter, or an actual cannibal?"
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Hmm.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm..." *looks at Thena*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Those hillbillies that you gave a ship to..."

<DeathStar> <Adeline> So we have cannibal trying to eat Fox and we have an Earth group trying to kill her to either get at her or Charlotte

<DeathStar> *Nocturne warps 4 people, at a time to Fox's ship, then comes back for the rest*
<DeathStar> *Adeline looks around - they would find Fox in command of the ship and everything looking normal. Nothing seems out of the ordinary*
<Seraphna> Thena> Shiver me Timbers Foxy Lady!
<DeathStar> <Taiga> So how are we going to catch a .... cannibal?
<DeathStar> <Ren> Like they do in that movie. Sealing them off in the vents and using flame throwers.

<DeathStar> *Adeline moves over to Fox to talk to her* Do you mind if I use your ship's systems to try to locate who has been attacking your people?

<DeathStar> <Ren> W-We really going to burn the cannibal alive in the vents?
<DeathStar> *Adeline begins to work to try to locate them*
<DeathStar> *Adeline after a bit brings up a sector* I would begin my search here.
<DeathStar> *it seems to be the lower decks near the cargo bays*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Why is it whenever we don't do supernatural cases, it's something like this
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Because we keep looking for trouble."
<Seraphna> Thena> I blame Xevil.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Xevil blames Xevil, we get it
<DeathStar> *Taiga marches down to the cargo bay*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan follows, Jaime decides to guard Fox and Adeline.**
<Alicia> * Charlotte waves, then heads off after Kaelan and Taiga
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads down to the cargo bay as well*
<DeathStar> *Adeline brings the group going to the cargo bay up on the monitors. As they arrive in the cargo bay, it seems to be crowded with cargo and has low lighting. A dripping sound heard from somewhere as Ren's ears twitch and Taiga looks around*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> .... .... *Adeline on comms* <Adeline> There seems to be an extra body of heat somewhere in the cargo bay.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "If that's blood, we're definitely close."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Ugh, I hope not.
<DeathStar> *as they walk along, Thena vanishes into the darkness by a twisted, burnt arm*
<DeathStar> <Voice> Mines.
<DeathStar> <Ren> ... was that you?
<Seraphna> **Thena squeaks**
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Thena's vanished again."
<Jackieness> <Noire> *eyes ren* "Does anyone of us sound like a heat damaged hillbilly?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Man that thing really wants to eat her
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Mmm… **starts to flits through the darkness scouting out**
<DeathStar> *there's a horrible crunch sound*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... oh no. Thena.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> *heads for the crunch, though she doesn't think it's Thena*
<DeathStar> *Kaelan found find burnt, skinny body of the cannibal hunched over a figure*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads that way as well*
<DeathStar> *Taiga and Ren follow and find the figure as well*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan pokes the tip of her blade into the figure** Hold still.
<DeathStar> *The cannibal pauses, looking up from an arm in it's mouth*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ... Ack!
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Athena is going to kill me
<Seraphna> **Kaelan shifts the blade to it’s neck**
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "You're going to stop eating the crew of this ship. One way or another."
<DeathStar> *The cannibal pauses, and it crunches again, looking... not happy. And it spits the arm out*
<DeathStar> <Cannibal> ... hun....gry...
<DeathStar> <Ren> ....... *it cuts itself on Kaelan's blade, leaping for Charlotte*I
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Tell me that was carbon.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> *launches a tendril at the leaping cannibal*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And he's gone feral too." *forms her Dark Edge* "Time to put it down."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Hey! **she slashes it**
<DeathStar> *Charlotte impales the thing and it hangs there, then with supre human strngth pulls itself closer with cannibal power until Kaelan slashes it, an arm going off, and it still it nears Charlotte chomping at her as Ren pushes it's mouth away*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *examines the arm*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *then slashes at it vertically*
<DeathStar> *it goes limp*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Okay, for real, burn it
<DeathStar> <Ren> Less it come back
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Hm. Okay, Thena, come on out
<Seraphna> Kaelan> **moves to examine what it was eating**
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Seemed more like a zombie than just a normal cannibal."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I want something more drastic than just normal fire. Can someone use hyperspace on him?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Wait, zombies are real?! I'm going to investigate that right away for a future case
<Seraphna> **A hand reaches out and paws Char** Thena… hungers….!
<Seraphna> Thena> Got any fish?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'll have the cannibal taken up to Jaime to be hyperspaced

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Not on me, but... sure, we can have fish after we get back."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Unless Thena wishes to clena up her mess with her own hyperspac epowers."
<DeathStar> *Adeline gathers some information from the terminal and finishes up*

<Seraphna> **Thena disintegrates the cannibal**

<DeathStar> Location: Noire's Apartment
<DeathStar> *The group returns to Noire's apartment, the location of the club room currently as not to bother X anymore. Ren eyes the food on the time and makes a face*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ... ugh
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...mmmmmm?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> I'm turned off food for some reason
<DeathStar> *Adeline munches on the snacks, not being bothered at all*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Because zombie cannibals are gross?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Right. because of that
<Alicia> * Charlotte likewise munches on snacks, seeming to have recovered from it all.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> No one was bitten right? I don't need you turning into cannibals
<Seraphna> **Jaime sneaks a snack off Adeline and nibbles**
<DeathStar> *Taiga seems to be acting like cannibals are zombies*
<Seraphna> Thena> My bloodlust for human flesh is no different from yesterday.
<DeathStar> <Nocturne> *eyes all of them*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I only eat girls.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Yes, we deal with things like this regularly."

<DeathStar> <Ren> That might help. Anyway. *places her hands on her hips* Do we want to let Warren handle the conspiracy angle on Charlotte or help out? It's not usually our wheelhouse but at the same time it has to deal with Charlotte. I could just find a casefile for us to investigate too.
<Jackieness> <Noire> *walks to the kitchen* "Maybe let Warren Carmichael use his resources to dig deeoer, then we can jump in if we hear anything."
<Seraphna> Thena> I will prepare my Doctor costume.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I want something to investigate before we jump in."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Alright. Right now Warren is in Mega City digging into the group and will contact us if necessary. So he'll be staying around Earth for the time being
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Almost like old times.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Usually the old man spends his times out in Erusia if I recall
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm... his fetish for blue females."
<DeathStar> *Ren opens a casefile* Alright, I have something for after we eat
<DeathStar> <Nocturne> *leans in toward Charlotte*

<DeathStar> *Ren spits out her drink*

<DeathStar> *Ren takes it and thanks Noire*
<Alicia> * Charlotte is speechless now
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Kaelan should be teaching this spirit better

<DeathStar> *Adeline finishes her snacks while Ren ruffles Charlotte's hair. Nocturne huffs at getting all her guesses wrong and opens a book, reading up on stuff*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *grabs her snack plate and resumes her meal*

<DeathStar> *Taiga drives them in the investigation vehicle out to a southern manor and parks at a what looks like an old building time forgot at swampy grounds. The building is made of wood and other materials, indicating how old it is compared to modern materials
<DeathStar> *it looks to be falling apart and has holes in it and the front porch is nearly unwalkable*
<DeathStar> *the grounds are all overgrown with grass where it isn't swampy muck*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> You have us go to the lovelist places Ren
<DeathStar> <Taiga> We could be on stake out with Warren over this
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And we are here... why?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Good question."
<DeathStar> <Ren> According to people this place has buried treasure and the ghosts here jealously protect it. Also a lot killings happened here hundreds of years ago, even before Miyuki's time
<DeathStar> <Taiga> That's dating her. She'd love that
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Keep going... what else is known about this?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well it says the person who owned the property made his workers work at the logging mill nearby and other sites that are now under the swamp lands
<DeathStar> <Ren> And he was not a kind boss
<DeathStar> >Ren> And made a fortune and zealously held onto it
<DeathStar> *Ren creeps toward the manor, hovering over the muck*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And the killings?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well like I said, he was not a kind boss and the working conditions were not safe. *she pauses at the door* And it led to a few deaths over the years. And the workers families eventually ...well. *makes a throat cut* But the man's treasure was never found afterward
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "And you think we will?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well after her was killed and all sightings of ghosts began to pop up
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And let me guess, his ghsot keeps anyone from finding his hidden gold."
<DeathStar> *Ren opens the door with acreak and inside the dusty opening to the manor can be seen; a large deer head can be seen staring at them and a painting of the man, rotting*
<DeathStar> *Ren and Taiga walk inside and Adeline floats inside with TK*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I'm surprised this place has not outright collapsed under these conditions." *steps inside*
<DeathStar> *there's stairs going upstairs, and a door to the left and right.*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Lets try not to make it collapse."
<Seraphna> **Jaime walks carefully, totally here. Thena rides on Charlotte’s head as a Chibi**
<DeathStar> <Ren> Where should we begin?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm... do we have any further details from this lore?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Noises from the basement. But I don't see an entrance there
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...who builds a basement in a swamp?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Maybe there isn't one
<DeathStar> *Ren muses* But then where does the noises come from?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "A fool or a genius, and if they were a genius, the place wouldn't look like this."
<DeathStar> *as if on cue, there's a low moaning sound from under their feet*
<DeathStar> *and the floor boars creak*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Interesting
<Seraphna> Jaime> What no timed lightning?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Clearly whatever is hidden is under the house..."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I wonder if it's a basement, or the swamp."
<DeathStar> *the painting seems to watch Noire, and it's eyes glow*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> It is possible the swamp has gotten worse
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... but there is a reason there are no basements in the French Quarter of New Orleans."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Should I just bust the floor boards up and find out?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Tempting, but that would bring the whole place down and drag us into the swamp."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Drat.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Fine, I'll foxhole then. One moment
<DeathStar> *Taiga foxholes down*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Now we wait to see if she comes back covered in muck."
<DeathStar> *the painting meanwhile seems a bit closer*
<Seraphna> **Jaime eyes the painting** You’re not allowed to move.
<DeathStar> *Taiga emerges in small fox form, just adorable - covered in muck, hands reaching up from the foxhole trying to yank her back*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm?" *looks over at the painting*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> YIIIIIIP
<DeathStar> *the fox flails*
<DeathStar> *The painting looks normal, just a bit closer*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *turns to look at Taiga* "Well, someone get her out."
<Seraphna> **Jaime reaches in and tugs her out**
<DeathStar> *Taiga is dragged back through her own foxhole.* Yiiiiyiiiip. *then is saved, the hands sliding back out as the foxhole closes*
<DeathStar> *Taiga drips in muck*
<Seraphna> **Jaime uses spirit to push the mud off
<DeathStar> *before poofing back* <Taiga> Just ... swamp down there... there might be a small bit of compartment under the floor boards. I didn't get to see much on my way under the floor.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "So check around for loose floorboards." *moves to inspect the floor*
<DeathStar> *the painting nabs Noire when she finds a loose floorboard and pulls her in. Noire scowling in the painting next to the owner of the manor*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Noire?!
<DeathStar> <Adeline> That's a new one.
<DeathStar> *Nocturne peeks out of a shadow* That painting is creeping on her
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "That is forbidden."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Only me and Ren can creep on Noire."
<DeathStar> *Ren spit takes*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "So, how do we get her out?"
<DeathStar> <Nocturne> You do that a lot
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Hm. *she hands Charlotte some Kitsune Udon tools*
<Seraphna> **Jaime pats Noct**
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Here, use these to exercise the painting while focusing on your feelings for Noire
<DeathStar> *she hands some to Ren as well*
<DeathStar> *Nocturne leans into the pats*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Right, lets do this." *tries to remember how to exorcise paintings*
<DeathStar> *Ren waves a burning incense candle at the painting and focuses on Noire* UH, like this?
<DeathStar> *The painting begins to shake and seems to try to zap Charlotte and Ren, not happy*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> *To JAime and Kaelan* What can we do?
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I could try and intimidate them.
<Seraphna> Jaime> I could blast everything that doesn’t have her.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Lets do that
<DeathStar> *Adeline TK shields Ren and Charlotte*
<Alicia> * Charlotte keeps working on trying to rescue Noire, even if only to keep her out of danger
<DeathStar> *Noire is ejected finally beside Charlotte and Ren as the painting's owner begins to crawl out to try to do harm to everyone*
<DeathStar> *reaching a ghostly hand out*
<DeathStar> *Taiga fumbles for more tools*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Gaaaah!"
<DeathStar> *the ghost howls and recoils*
<DeathStar> *Taiga pulls out the ghost trap*

<DeathStar> *lets someone use it to defeat the big bad and get exp*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *grabs the trap and deploys it* "This is what I think of your marriage proposal!"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "He seriously thought that would work?"
<DeathStar> *the ghost is trapped and it pingsabout and lands in the bag*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Oh she did an action hero line and everything.
