<DeathStar> *she keeps her eye on the datapad, walking ahead and soon they come across what looks to be something in the swamp water. It looks like a half-submerged path*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> This seems to be it. *The path leads out toward the center of what looks to be nothingness. If one were to follow it, they would surely be swallowed by the swamp*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> The one time we could have used the mud girl she’s off with her girlfriend.
<DeathStar> <Ren> We're suppose to follow ... that?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "A... cloaked structure?"
<DeathStar> *there doesn't even seem to be any trees or anything that might have a switch like a classic evil villain about*
<DeathStar> *Taiga cautiously begins to walk along the path*
<DeathStar> *getting closer and closer to the center*
<Seraphna> Si> I could boil the swamp.
<DeathStar> *until she reaches the end of it and peers down and stares down* I think something is submerged down there, but it's too deep to tell.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Yes, let's compound things with an ecological disaster, Si."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Then we’d have very well bathed angry gators.
<DeathStar> <Ren> If a base is down there it'd have to be ruined by now right?
<Seraphna> Si> Unless it’s water tight.
<Seraphna> Truth> How dare it hide from us.
<Jackieness> <Noire> *forms tendrils and sends them down into the water to feel around*
<DeathStar> *Noire would feel what seems to be a metalic structure - very large*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It might await a signal to bring it up. We'll have to yank it up ourselves.
<Seraphna> Si> This is a great place for an evil floating fortress to hide though.
<DeathStar> <Ren> It is kind of cliched.

<Seraphna> Kaelan> We could make a bunch of dark gators to do our bidding and drag it up.
<DeathStar> *bugs bite on Kaelan more, to get that juicy blood*

<DeathStar> *Taiga lifts her good hand and begins to try to calculate the distance blindly*
<DeathStar> *Then forms a foxhole, swamp muck pouring out. She shuts it off and forms a new one*

<Jackieness> <Noire> *draws up her tendrils and uses them to give Taiga a measure of relative depth to the structure*

<DeathStar> *the base lights are off and as they enter, they begin to slowly turn on; it seems they are in some random hallway with old EarthGov military logos on that has V.I here and there*
<DeathStar> *Taiga enters last and looks about as things power up*

<DeathStar> *Taiga walks along the hallway and leans forward at a map* It seems we're not far from the command room; come on

<Seraphna> Si> I’ll use my cute bunny look. It melts Taiga all the time.
<DeathStar> *Taiga leads them through the hallways* It seems this place has old EarthGov/V.I weapons and equipment. I wonder if it's still here
<DeathStar> *she studies the map that shows that shows armory*
<DeathStar> <Ren> It has to have been picked off by now, right?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Depends on the nature of this base."
<DeathStar> *As they reach the command center, it has top of the line computers - decades ago and shows a map of the Earth, listing bases that were operational for EarthGov at that point in time*
<DeathStar> *many of them still are*
<DeathStar> *Taiga lifts her map up and checks it against what Warren gave her*
<DeathStar> <Ren> I wish I was better with computers.
<Seraphna> Truth> **points at a machine** Reveal your secrets, fiend.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I wonder if we could identfy the reamining VI bases by using this map, subtratcing out all the EarthGov and known VI sites, and see what's left."
<DeathStar> <Voice> You could attempt to do that. *it speaks through the base's main computer* But I'm afraid you all aren't leaving this base. Nor are you going to meet Venerator. *The door they came from shuts*
<DeathStar> *Taiga glances up, but resumes comparing her list, jotting notes while Ren's right ear twitches*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan just starts laughing**
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... lovely."
<DeathStar> *Taiga motions for them to keep the mysterious guy talking*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Really? The locked room gambit? What Saturday morning cartoon were you born in?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And whom do we have the dubioud pleasure of addressing?"
<DeathStar> <Voice> ... *There's a pause, as if perhaps that's exactly where he got it from* Tyler McCabe and President Hodges. And I'm afraid we need Venerator's allure a bit longer. And since Charlotte is not with you, you're all expendable. Infact, we might go pick her up now. That base nullifies powers, so once we flip a switch, don't try to use them, to escape
<DeathStar> *a noise goes off and the base begins to explode in areas, indicating it's taking on swamp muck*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Got it. I know where he is
<DeathStar> *Taiga closes her datapad*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I assume powers you have an understanding of. Like total noobs.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm... come on then. This is a boring conversation anyway."

<Seraphna> **Kaelan keeps laughing** Also what kind of name is Hodges?
<DeathStar> *There's a sound of a button, and more areas of the base explode*
<DeathStar> *The entire area tilting*
<DeathStar> *As they sink faster, the lights go out and the base's power cuts off*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hopefully this swamp isn't deep
<DeathStar> *indeed, they hit bottom a moment later*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Umm… if the power cuts what would keep jammers going?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "How does a power suppression field work without... you know... power?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Let me try
<DeathStar> *She begins to form her foxhole - but at that moment the glass begins to crack and swamp water begins to pour in*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Try faster
<Seraphna> **Kaelan taps a shadow to see if she can slip it**
<DeathStar> *Taiga gets the foxhole up to the surface* I'm guessing the distance due to how far we fell
<DeathStar> *Ren just leaps in as the room begins to get flooded*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan snickers** Well these guys are idiots.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Swamp isn't rushing in, so let's go." *moves for the foxhole*
<DeathStar> *Ren breathes area on the surface, Taiga getting lucky*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan, Truth and Si follow**
<DeathStar> <Ren> I Think you pissed them off and they blew an important part of the base, you crazy bitch
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Just a note, they seem to not know how my powers work.
<DeathStar> *Taiga waits and when moves in at the last moment befor eshe is swept up
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Well that was the idea.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> People tend to fuck up when they’re mad.
<DeathStar> <Ren> I'm just worried about Charlotte. *those with great hearing would pick up a high pitch sound*

<Jackieness> <Noire> *adjusts her glasses* "Mmmmm... and that is?"

<DeathStar> <Taiga> *peers up as series of high speed missiles are headed their way to finish the job, ready to carpet bomb the swamp*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> .... We need to move a few miles now
<DeathStar> *the missiles begin to get closer* 10

<Seraphna> **Kaelan tilts her head, and opens foxholes in the path of the missiles**
<Jackieness> <Noire> *lashes them with her tendrils and mvoes to shadow them all elsewhere*
<Jackieness> *them being th group*
<DeathStar> *the foxholes are put up and they are yanked*
<DeathStar> *As they are moved a bit a way, the foxholes do manage to stop a few, but the missiles hit the ground and the impact still manages to knock them off their feet and sends gators flying their way*
<Seraphna> **Truth slices a gator in two think it’s leaping at them**
<DeathStar> *Taiga and Ren have gone fox mode, a gator about to eat them*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *tendrisl the foxyips to safety*
<Seraphna> **Si makes it into fried Gator**
<DeathStar> *they sigh in relief*
<DeathStar> *both poofing back to normal*

<DeathStar> *The group arrives at a fancy location for rich people, wining and dining - it certainy doesn't look like a base. They all eye them and sniff as they enjoy their luxury resort as they move through the large area*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Okay this is a much better evil lair.
<DeathStar> *Taiga nods in thought as she leads them through to the casinos*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...its not a lair. Its a high end resort."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Could it be that this is not in itself a lair? For the rich?
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Those are not mutually exclusive.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> According to this the lair is underneath the casino.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Nocty. I demand a casino lair.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Just find the entrance then."
<DeathStar> *Taiga studies it; there's slots, a fountain, and a statue of V*

<DeathStar> *Ren just walks over and to the horror of the casino players, grabs the V and smashes it*
<DeathStar> *revealing a switch*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "I shall not complain about expediting this."
<DeathStar> *Taiga just pauses, then hits it; the elevator for casino makes a noise*
<DeathStar> *moving over, Taiga studies it* I think it's allowing us to go down to the basement
<Seraphna> Kaelan> We have unlocked a basement button or something.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Come then."
<Seraphna> **Truth steps in, as does Si**
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads down*
<DeathStar> *The elevator takes them downward, cheery music playing from the golden era*
<DeathStar> *Ren paces in the small space and Taiga taps her foot*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan blinks** Is that an Athena jingle?
<DeathStar> *As they reach the bottom, weapons are already aimed at them, but then someone disables them - it seems they will not be shot up this day*
<DeathStar> *The guns rising up into the ceiling*
<Seraphna> Truth> Ah, politeness at last.
<DeathStar> <Venerator voice> Come on in. *the elevator doors open, revealing a hallway with a door at the end that opens*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... well, here we go.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> Down the foreboding hallway we go.
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads down the hallway*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Better than the last one."
<DeathStar> *they arrive in a clean, white, base with monitors watching events going on in the casino as well as events going on the Earth and other worlds. The command center seems more up to date than on the other base, with many stations set up but no really manning them. There's other rooms judging by the doors and cameras set up to spy on people and little holes for guns to lower. Music plays throughout the base giving it a nice feel (cont)
<DeathStar> *the command center also has stairs going upward to a second level that one can view from the bottom level where there's couches and drinks set out, where Venerator is sitting, monitoring things as he leans back on the couch*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Here's the big bad.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...someone looks relaxed up there."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Too relaxed.
<DeathStar> <Venerator> Come on up
<DeathStar> *he calls*
<Seraphna> Truth> Is he the boss? I am ready for battle.

<Seraphna> Kaelan> Some chumps are kidnapping and killing people. They probably got Charlotte. They might go after others like Adeline and Aya.
<Seraphna> Si> Someone claiming to be President Hodges and umm McCabe?
<DeathStar> <Venerator> You're referring to the rogue V.I that has essentially taken over Mega City while you were gone?

<DeathStar> <Venerator> My sources are telling me that they've gotten a lock down on the city using jammers, ghosts, and spirits. For a group with less than 50 men probably and ancien equipment, they're certainly making a fuss.

<DeathStar> *Venerator grabs his glass, sipping it* The problem is this - you mentioned Hodgs and McCabe

<DeathStar> <Taiga> I'd almost wonder if this group is just after Adeline and maybe Aya and Charlotte if they can manage it, but why go to the trouble of taking over the city when it's a one time play.
