<Jackieness> <Noire> "What readings?"
<DeathStar> *Taiga taps her face* Well, I've been tracking our pirate friends and they been moving about the reality map like usual the past few months like normal.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> But there's still something about their movements that concern me
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What?"
<Seraphna> Si> Ooo, does it form a picture when you map out the pattern!?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The realities they been hitting are rather low targets. Sure, the probes I send afterward they've been stealing stuff, but it's nowhere near as big as what they been doing
<Seraphna> Si> Maybe something scared them into going low profile?
<Seraphna> Si> Like a reality of giant mutant bees!
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm... have you ever seen a movie or show where they play a video feed through the security system to convince the guards that all is well?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Oh yeah I love those types of moves.
<Seraphna> Si> I think we did that in a cops and robbers reality once.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "If they figured out that we cna track them, then they may be putting on a show for us."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> If they know we can track them, that would be bad.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "This other Adeline is quite intelligent, and some of our last few encoutners may have been too coincidental for them."
<DeathStar> *Ren shifts her tail about in thought*

<DeathStar> <Ren> What does that mean?
<Seraphna> **Kumiko floats in drying her hair**
<Sara> * Kaori eyes a sack suspiciously

<Jackieness> <Noire> "I don't know... they may also not know how we cna track, them... just suspect that we can. These movements suggest something."
<Seraphna> Si> Clearly they are avoiding giant mutant space bees.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "As would anyone with common sense, but that is probbaly not why."

<Sara> <Kaori> ...I feel like I am being made fun of

<Seraphna> Si> What if bothering her STARTS an interdimensional war?
<DeathStar> *Taiga shrugs and dials up Lemon's house. She has to battle Lemon to get in touch with the bride to be, all three of them*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well, we're just double-screwed then, aren't we?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "But I suspect that this other Adeline is not shy about exploiting every resource she has available."
<Seraphna> Si> Aren't we making a lot of assumptions based on almost no intel outside a pattern of behavior?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I'd be surprised if she was."

<DeathStar> <Ren> What would be your evil plan?
<DeathStar> *Ren sits down by Kaori to snack*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Hard to say without knowing exactly what they're after. Putting on a show is likely, though."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...I'm not planning to go knock down her front door, but at the same time, I'd ratehr avoid being caught with my pants down...even if I prefer skirts."

<DeathStar> <Taiga> *soon gets Adeline on; her bride's dress covers up her chest area and she has her long white hair up, but otherwise she is in a typical bride's dress*

<DeathStar> *Taiga goes to explain the situation while Adeline listens, thinking*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Sorry for disturbing you, but the activities of the other you's agents has changed their behavior suddenly."

<DeathStar> <Adeline> I would set up a multiple layer trap in that case. Which is what it sounds like she is doing.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then its time to scheme."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "One thing I do know... if the other Charlotte and Adeline know about this, they'd definitely pick this particular date for their plans on purpose."

<DeathStar> <Adeline> If you're foolish enough to do so, they will use dispable pawns to kill you
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I'm not sure if it would be worth the information you might gain out of springing the trap
<Seraphna> Jaime> Do we get disposable pawns?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What if we hit a world that they haven't pinged?"

<DeathStar> <Adeline> You could try that, but their tactics have changed according to you. They're not even bothering to steal anything big.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> This means they're not allowing themselves to be goaded. They're focused on the Strikers right now.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "If they think we cna track them, I want to give them a ping that suggests that we are not following their pattern. I want to see how they react."

<DeathStar> <Adeline> It could be worth the information. But the second layer of a trap I'd do
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I'd be looking to get myself into the enemy base and learning all I can about them. We know Asteroid C has defenses against that
<DeathStar> <Adeline> So they might be trying something else close to that
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "So, it's likely that this is part of the reason for the lure."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I have all avenues protected against incursions
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...what about coercion?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Coercison? *She covers Kaori's ears*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Grab a hostage and force them to let them in."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> They could try that I suppose. IF they grabbed one of us and used the wrist watch
<DeathStar> <Taiga> But the gunnery inside here would still be hostile
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Then what is their plan?" *sits down*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Unless they could either fake being one of us, or somehow deactivate it."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> That is a possibility. But they'd have to enter first.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I can try the ping thing.
<DeathStar> *Taiga moves her chair over to the computer* This might take a while. They aren't super active right now. Like I said, it's like they're just stealing things now and again. Adeline might be right, they're setting up traps for us
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "They're either setting a trap, or testing the waters."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hm. Well, we have a bit of time before the wedding
<Jackieness> <Noire> "For the moment, let's sit tight and wait for a thread to grasp."

<DeathStar> *She walks toward her location and picks a sushi spot and sits down*
<DeathStar> <Ren> I been thinking. *it seems food helps her think*
<Seraphna> **Kumiko floats down next to her, she orders by pointing at a menui**
<DeathStar> *Ren begins to eat her food as it arrives, feeding some to no one - though Charlotte likely knows who it is* I think Charlotte might be right.

<DeathStar> <Ren> *eats happily* Think about it, Mom might have the 25th and C'en blocked now, but these other realities got in here somehow. How'd they get in here the first time?

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I'd expect impersonating us, but there's still the automatic defences. They'd have to fool or deactivate that..."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hm. *she props her chin up* Maybe Adeline is smarter than mom's reality blocker.
<DeathStar> <Ren> Or maybe mom is an alternate Taiga.
<DeathStar> <Ren> And there is no defense.
<DeathStar> *Ren points at Kaori* And Kaori is in danger.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Of course, the blocker only blocks the asteroid."
<DeathStar> <Ren> I assumed it was for the entire reality. If it was the asteroid only... *muses* That means they could warp in at any point
<DeathStar> <Ren> We should ask mom.
<Sara> * Kaori deadpans
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I can't imagine it covering the entire universe..."

<DeathStar> *Ren brings up Taiga as they eat*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Of course, that means they'd have to arrive somewhere that isn't here or the PAX."

<DeathStar> <Taiga comms> It defends the Asteroid C from intrusion and alerts me of anyone entering the reality
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm....are they are really asking that?"

<DeathStar> <Taiga> Fairly far. But if they've gotten a workaround, it might be could be broken. *She shows the galactic map, which covers most of the Known Regions*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Taiga, we should keep this information classified."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I don't plan to share it outside the Strikers
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "As I thought... and that's wise."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hm. Lets do a what if scenario then
<DeathStar> <Ren> Is there a way to get sneak in past a reality alarm system?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...I'd prefer we not talk about this over comms."

<DeathStar> <Taiga> Interesting. *She leans forward; I'm getting some pings on other worlds near the location I just did. Almost like they're tempting us

<Jackieness> <Noire> "We got their attention enough for them to try to adapt to our ping."

<DeathStar> <Ren> *Chews* So what is the plan?

<DeathStar> <Taiga> I just wouldn't expect movement this quickly on other realities.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Like starting a fire to get our attention."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Right. I was just essentially using one of our probes in a reality search, a sort of ping of our own, and they immediately flagged themselves in a way
<DeathStar> <Taiga> One would expect to have movement ceased
<Seraphna> **Si muses and does something to tease Taiga in the bond as she gathers new snacks**
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Adeline is right. They are trying to draw us out."
<DeathStar> *Taiga jerks and looks at Si, then pushes her glasses up*
<DeathStar> <Ren> A rather clumsy one
<Seraphna> **Si fuus and carries over a plate**
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I think reality travel is probably too dangerous at this time.
<DeathStar> *Taiga begins to key things up to lock the system down when Kaori suddenly passes out*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "It feels too obvious, though."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "MMmm...alternatively, rather than trapping us, they want to box us in so they can act freely."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Well, what do you think we should--
<DeathStar> <Ren> I think KaoKao ate too much
<Jackieness> <Noire> *stands* "Check on her."
<DeathStar> *Ren lifts her up and checks*

<DeathStar> *Ren pulls out a scanner and begins to do so; the lifesigns seem to be out of whack like she's in a low level coma, but it's definitely nothing she ate. It's like her body itself has begun to act up. Ren stress eats*

<DeathStar> <Taiga> I don't recall seeing Kaori ever be ill.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Try...a reality scan."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Right. One moment
<DeathStar> *she focuses, running her hand over Kaori as she pauses* <Ren> Weird... <Taiga> One moment. *She kneels*
<Alicia> * Charlotte pauses, deep in thought, trying to figure out the evil plot... it has to be an evil plot, right?
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Something is wrong with her life force and powers. One moment. I'll try to untangle it. It's only a temporary stop gap. Ren. We'll need to work together. *they use their sparks and snap their fingers, waking Kaori up*
<DeathStar> <Ren> She'll be okay now
<DeathStar> *Ren props Kaori up*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Something definitely happened to her. And it wasn't the food.
<Seraphna> Si> Some kinda reality power interference?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "At this point, I'm not willing to rule anything out."
<DeathStar> *Charlotte seems to be entering some sort of psionic trance, seeing things that is not there at the cost of her sanity to piece together the case*
<DeathStar> *Ren eyes her and smacks her with her tails* No going nuts

<DeathStar> *Charlotte gains a psionic ensight, even if the bugs move about the room*

<Sara> * Kaori rubs her eyes
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I haven't heard anything about it being in danger
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Maybe it's nothing, I just... have a hunch."
<DeathStar> *Taiga rolls her chair and checks. Sure enough, there aren't any REPORTS, but does that really mean anything?
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well, Yggdrasil/Centerpoint is certainly tied to Kaori.
<DeathStar> <Ren> And she just almost had an incident
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I can get us permission if you all want to check it out.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The wedding is a few hours away.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmm...yes. Though I suggest a small group only. I don't want to leave Asteroid C undermanned in case this is some sort of distraction."

<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I feel like this isn't a distraction... though it may be a dual pronged attack."

<DeathStar> *Jubei comes out of Noire's shadows and sets up a chair to sit*

<DeathStar> *The team meets with Ymir on one of the massive branches. She stands there in uniform, her long hair blowing in the wind up top here as Taiga and Ren support Kaori*
<DeathStar> <Ymir> I'm here to guide you into the deeper parts of the tree while you're here.
<Seraphna> **Si peers around curiously, this being her... 5th time on the tree.
<DeathStar> *She doesn't seem to be too worried about leaving her empire behind right now as she turns to walk through a village of catgirls and familiars, many dragon familiars*
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Right now I imagine the wedding will be pretty chaotic.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Absolutely."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...its a wdding that involves people we know. it was going to be chaotic anyway."
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Well, after what they discovered about the spirits and many of them being invited and needing the Peacekeepers to keep the peace
<DeathStar> <Ymir> I wouldn't be shocked if the Spirits crash the entire thing
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Speakign of crash...any disturbances here on th Yggdrasil?"
<DeathStar> <Ymir> We haven't gotten reports. But with the villages spread out, I suppose it's possible something could get by.
<DeathStar> *They walk for what seems ages and soon reach the base of the tree. Ymir glances down* <Ymir> Normally this would take days, but you have a wedding to attend.,
<DeathStar> *Ymir reaches into her pocket and pulls out a little device*
<DeathStar> *she begins to talk to someone in it*
<DeathStar> *suddenly, the branch shakes*
<DeathStar> <Ren> W-What the hell?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "What was that?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I don't like the sound of that.
<Sara> <Kaori> ???
<Seraphna> Si> Whaaaa?
<DeathStar> *it shakes again when begind them a muscled grandpa of a man in a tuxedo lands and scoops them all up
<DeathStar> *and leaps off the branch and begins to fall down the massive tree at high speeds*
<DeathStar> <Ymir> ..... *keeps her eyes closed as they whip by at death speeds*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Who are you? What's going on? Why is this happening?"
<Seraphna> Si> Oh you're that dragon suplexer!
<DeathStar> <Taiga> What the hell is thiiiiiiis* <Ren> I am deaaaad *soul exits*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What?!"

<DeathStar> *and after a few minutes they land without doign damage to the base of the tree, somehow and he sets them dow*
<DeathStar> *Ren hurls onto some plants, all the sushi she had*
<Seraphna> Si> Whoa, it took way longer to do this last time.
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Ren, are you alright?"

<Jackieness> <Noire> "I... I..."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *looks unsteady*

<DeathStar> <Ymir> In the meantime. *she shows another cave entrance to the others, which has Centerpoint insides* This is what we protect from the others
<DeathStar> *Taiga glances at it* Ah yeah the core.
<Seraphna> Si> Is this where Wind has been hanging out?
<DeathStar> <Ren> Probably when he's not training Kaori
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...we thought Centerpoint was no more..."
<DeathStar> *The insides look to be a living breathing centerpoint now*
<Sara> * Kaori tries to stand on her own power
<DeathStar> <Ymir> From what I understand this is mostly what was left from the pathways. It is tied to her.
<DeathStar> *She motions at Kaori*
<Sara> <Kaori> Yeah...
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Mmm..."
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Anyway, the controls will respond to you. Or should.
<DeathStar> <Ren> *walks around the cave, looking at the crystal room, poking at things*
<Sara> <Kaori> Well, I'll try at least
<Sara> * Kaori moves over as best she can
<DeathStar> *Charlotte would feel somthing in the vines above the room, hanging above them as Kaori touches the device; normally this would bring about a certain computer mother to talk to, but nothing happens. Infact, the computer makes a lock out sound*I
<DeathStar> *And the room remains dim*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Wait, Kaori is locked out?
<DeathStar> <Ren> How is that possible?
<Seraphna> Si> Tree got hacked?
<Alicia> * Charlotte looks up at the vines, trying to identify the "something", before realising what the plot was.
<DeathStar> *There seems to be a body up there*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm? Do you see or sense something, Charlotte?"
<DeathStar> *Ymir moves over, eyeing the controls and tries to figure it out* It seems to be operating like normal
<Alicia> * Charlotte reaches up with tendrils to remove the body... carefully.
<DeathStar> <Ymir> But you're right, it looks like we're locked out.
<DeathStar> *Charlotte pulls down Wind, with a broken piece of the Emerald Sword - or a least a reality version of it, in his chest. He looks unconscious, his hyperspace energy sparking about*
<DeathStar> <Ren> That's no good.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I have a hypothesis and you will not like it
<Alicia> <CHarlotte> "... they stole Kaori's tree authority, didn't they?"
<DeathStar> *She glances at Ymir* <Ymir> I can step out. *She walks out of the room*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...listening?"

<Sara> <Kaori> Rather than just stealing *me*, huh...
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Yes, most likely. And they probably got into this reality through the tree itself. While the tree isn't in other realities, it might be possible to enter through the tree from other realities.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The other Empress Erevis was worried about the serpent in our reality
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I expected they'd try to replace me or Adeline with themselves... this is... more than expected."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> They could have been here for much longer than I Realized
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The reality control was just an announcement "I am here"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Can someone heal this guy? He might know what happened."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Which means we don't know who might be replaced and how long they been sneaking about.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...we should return to to Asteroid C then."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> *eyes Wind and the weapon in him* That's a reality sword.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It might be dangerous to remove it
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Also - Kaori
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I know..."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I see two scenarios
<DeathStar> <Taiga> One they found a way to lock it out without you, or two they got another Kaori to do it. <Ren> But Kaori is unique. <Taiga> Kaori is unique in that she is one of the very few that went down the path to get her powers.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> But if the other Adeline made a Kaori get her powers...
