<DeathStar> <Ren> If this is a bust, we'll teleport to another location
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...why are we going here again?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Is this another haunted house?"
<DeathStar> *They pull up in front of a massive, sprawling mansion that looks like it has been here for centuries and she parks out front* I asked the people to let us stay the night - just us. *she fumbles for the keys* To explore and look for any ghosts. *Adeline rubs her eyes and grabs the equipment*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Charlotte, I believe you won."
<DeathStar> <Ren> What, this might be one of our final Fumoffu club stuff - who knows when Mom might finish her Striker stuff in the back seat. *as Taiga climbs out with the datapad*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm... and then what will we do when we are out of club and striker business?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> I guess just focus on being a boring tech for the PAX and help Charlotte with the family business
<Jackieness> <Noire> *twitches* "...so the mundane."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Anyway, I bet you guys haven't heard of this place. *mumbles about them having heard about the ship as she leads them to the front door*
<DeathStar> *Adeline dumps the bags on Kaori to carry*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...mmmmm..." *looks around*
<DeathStar> *on the outside, the mansion looks rather peculiar with lots of windows and strange designs*
<DeathStar> *Ren unlocks the front door and hops inside*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *follows Ren inside*
<Alicia> * Charlotte follows
<DeathStar> *As they enter, Ren fumbles and turns the lights on, the lights flickering a bit*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...haven't we already been here?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Hm? Where?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Sprawling haunted mansion in California..."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Please don't let this be a hotel. I want to be able to leave."
<DeathStar> <Ren> No, that's further down the street. Come on. You guys know a place called ancient place where people made movies on film before holovids?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Hollywood?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Movie studio?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well yeah. We still technically have it today - Hollywood, but back then film actors would buy the land around this place and build giant mansions with their money
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm... most of those places were bulldozed because the land was more valuable than the old mansion."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Not haunted ones
<DeathStar> <Ren> They get perserved
<Jackieness> <Noire> "To serve as tourist attractions for suckers like us.'
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Of course. And who is the lucky actor.
<DeathStar> *Ren guides them to the potraits*
<DeathStar> *Adeline is already taking notes as before them is an asian looking woman who looks like Cassandra*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Was she out here in the porn acting business I wonder?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Where are they getting the lookalikes?"
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Well assuming it's an ancestor, it happens sometimes.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I am offended, Taiga."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> It was a joke. You know, due to the large breasts that runs in the family
<Jackieness> <Noire> *just eyes Taiga*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Anyway. The ghost stuff is suppose to be upstairs. Lets go
<DeathStar> *she begins to lead them upstairs*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... very well." *follows up*
<DeathStar> *Apparently whoever owned it was quite rich, but frugal - owning very little outside some Japanese items, which are inside a room they enter, in cases. They look quite expensive, though one of the cases seems to have a collection of knives and one is noticeably missing*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Nice place... I wonder what happened to that knife."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well, there are theories.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...I'm listening."
<DeathStar> <Ren> The owner of the mansion died through falling from many upper stairs balconies. I think the third floor. We're on the second here. The police believed there might have been a struggle with whoever was stealing the knife, even though it was on the second floor here
<DeathStar> <Ren> And there was no signs of anything else stolen because they panicked and fled.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And is this person actually related to me?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Well, not directly. I believe like cousin type relation. That type
<DeathStar> <Ren> Somewhere in the tree
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "So they are related?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Centuries ago
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... so I see."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Anyway, after the murder, people started seeing her ghost wandering this area
<DeathStar> <Ren> Usually at night
<DeathStar> <Ren> And especially if anything was moved. They say someone took something from the collection once and bad things began to happen to them
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I bet she wants her knife back."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...and the missing knife?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> They never found that again sadly. They had a list of suspects but I mean there's no way we could track all their descendants and hope to find a rare knife
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Unless the suspect kept it close by
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...I would wager the suspect whose life sucked the most afterward."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I could try to look into it
<DeathStar> *the lights flicker in the room as she sits, looking into the case*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Charming."
<DeathStar> *there's movemeent in the house and the smell of oriental scents as the lights dim*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well... then I shall go and meet this lost relative of mine."
<DeathStar> *Adeline hmmmm's, as she looks into the suspect list and Ren follows*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *goes to search the house*
<Alicia> * Charlotte looks over the knives to try to identify them
<DeathStar> *They seem to be knives made of the rarest metals and craftsmanship; they still look useable today, even after all this time. Charlotte could whip it out of the case and kill the others with just a swipe*
<DeathStar> *Ren and Noire find a beautiful asian ghost that looks a lot like Cassandra in some ways roaming the stairs*
<DeathStar> *And slowly making her way towards the weapons room*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "...damn, those are some good knives." *heads after Ren and Noire
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm..." *follows the ghost*
<DeathStar> *as the ghost passes them, and even Charlotte, she enters the room, and looks like she was about to head toward the case when she turns toward Adeline and heads toward her, attacking her like a vengeful spirit*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> ....*is thrown back*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "What."
<DeathStar> *Taiga blinks, looking up from her work*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It must not like anyone near her stuff!"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I was the one admiring the knives though!"
<DeathStar> <Adeline> *struggles to say something as the ghost looks like it's transforming into a vengeful ghost*
<DeathStar> *TK sliding the list*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...well, it clearly doesn't like Adeline! Ren, get her out of here!"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "...wait a moment..." *protects Adeline, but doesn't interfere with the TK sliding*
<DeathStar> *Ren nods and hops over and grabs her, foxholing them both out*
<DeathStar> *pauses then*
<DeathStar> *The ghost focuses on Charlotte getting in the way of her, finally noticing someone else*
<DeathStar> <Ren> *picks up the list instead, peering at it and showing Noire*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Adeline did nothing wrong... but if you want to help with the investigation..."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...well...that explains that. Apparently the Spades have a history of being...problems.."
<DeathStar> <Ren> It looks like a branch family of the Spades. long ago, did it. Kind of like this is a branch family of the Arakawas
<DeathStar> <Ren> She is thinking this is the same Spade
<DeathStar> <Ren> I bet
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...Adeline, any family heirlooms that fit the bill?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Which is pretty obviously wrong, but not to a ghost."
<DeathStar> *The ghost seems to be slowly moving Charlotte away while Adeline holds hre throat,taking deep breaths*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> We do not. This line of the Spades likely died off or changed their names. William Spade is - was - the only Spade left. And now I'm the only Spade left.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...well, Adeline...I advise you to start researching some family history."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I need more time to learn more about them
<Jackieness> <Noire> "In the meantime, we shall have to placate this spirit so it doesn't murder Adeline."
<DeathStar> <Ren> How do we placate an angry asian ghost?
<DeathStar> <Ren> IT looks ready to go vengeful and you know what happens when they do taht
<DeathStar> *Adeline sits and begins to look into it*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "By agreeing to help find the missing knife?"
<DeathStar> *The ghost stares at Charlotte* <Taiga> You know. I have a theory.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Listening..."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> This knife is causing the family trouble. Once Adeline narrows down the name of the Spade, which she probably has - assuming the family didn't keep it after he/she died and more problems didn't arise from keeping a cursed item, then it might be buried with them. If they did, we just see how long the family was cursed
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Sooner or later they had to smarten up
<Alicia> <CHarlotte> "If it was buried, what do we do? I'm not risking a second angry ghost by digging up graves."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It has no right to be angry. The knife was stolen."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Alright I think I'm piecing together what happened to the knife. Shelia Spade was working for this nice lady here when one of the males began to get cursed, not her.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> The police even questioned her and the husband
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I know that, but try telling a ghost that you'll put them back in their grave nice and comfy once you're done..."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "S one of her male relatives stole her keys... or what?"
<DeathStar> <Adeline> The husband began to fall under illness and died and then the rest of the family began to get cursed down the road and Shelia's son was the next to die. And after that there's no more signs of trouble. The curse of the family ended with the son. So either he has the knife, or the family got rid of it, but I doubt it. Curse would stay, right?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren, we need a metal detector and the gravesite."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Right, one moment
<DeathStar> *Ren foxholes away*
<DeathStar> *returns from Kaori, who has all the stuff*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> The gravesite should be here. *She points* We'll have to find the knife and bring it back here less we be cursed ourselves.
<DeathStar> *The ghost meanwhile has begun to wander again. As Adeline goes to stand up, she finds a barrier, the house not allowing her to leave*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...this is inconvenient..."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Seriously... hostage taking?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Does anyone want to stay with Adeline to make sure the spirit doesn't murder her?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I will
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I need to finish the work on the Striker business
<Jackieness> <Noire> "We'll be back. Let's go, team!"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Ghosts can be so unreasonable, I hope this one is intelligent enough to know that if anything happens to Adeline, we'd just end up ditching the search to tend to her."
<DeathStar> <Ren> *shivers as the room gets colder*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...don't threaten the spirit, Charlotte."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "...fine."
<Jackieness> <Noire> *heads for the front door*
<DeathStar> *Ren leads them to the van and gets in and puts the coordinates in, driving out; out back is a spooky graveyard behind the house*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...wrl...this is certainly charming..."
<DeathStar> *As they arrive in the graveyard, the group finds something unusual, a man digging up graves with a hunchback, looking for parts it appears*
<DeathStar> *The two even have a japanese knife on their belt as they dump a body in their van*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...what?"
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "... it can't be, can it?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> .... I ... I have no words
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...mmm...let's have some fun... wait here." *slips out of the van and creeps into the cemetary*
<DeathStar> *Ren follows into the foggy cemetary, bumping a gravestone and knocking it over as she goes*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *sends her tendrils creepign along the ground toward the graverobbers*
<Alicia> * Charlotte sneaks towards the two
<DeathStar> *so far they seem oblivious, adding another to the back* <Graverobber> That should be enough for the experiment. <Hunchback> Yes, master. *He moves toward the van door*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *then tries to snag her tendrils around their legs and pull them toward the open graves*
<DeathStar> *Both men yelps and cry for help; suddenly the van explodes and a Frankenstein like monster of bodies leaps onto the ground, enough to shake it*
<Alicia> * Charlotte sends a single tendril, merely to snag the knife. Why interfere with Noire's work, when you can just get the objective?
<DeathStar> *Charlotte nabs the knife*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ...
<DeathStar> *Ren leaps for their own van and slides into the seat to start it up*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *yanks them into the open graves before releasing them, heading back to the van*
<Alicia> * Charlotte runs for the van, carrying the knife
<DeathStar> *The Frankstein begins to chase, shaking the ground - but it's lumbering and not very fast*
<DeathStar> *Frankenstein
<DeathStar> *the two reach the van long before it, so it begins to throw graves at the vehicle*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...hit the gas, Ren!"
<DeathStar> *Ren speeds out of there as the van begins to get dented and shook*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Lets gooooo~
<Alicia> * Charlotte stashes the knife, keeping low to avoid thrown graves. "Why did this go from ghost stories to Frankenstein?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> I have no idea~
<DeathStar> *She drives them up to the mansion again and gets out, peering at the headstone being lodged right in the side*
<Alicia> * Charlotte grabs the knife and hurries inside. "I know we're out of danger, but it doesn't feel that way."
<DeathStar> *Ren follows, the house being ice cold*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...come on." *heads up to the weapon room*
<DeathStar> <Ren> M-My tail is freezing.
<DeathStar> *she fluffs up her various tails*
<DeathStar> *inside the room, the ghost is circling Adeline and Taiga*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Right." *heads up* "Time to fulfil our part of the deal."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Honored ancestor. We have retrieved that which was stolen from you."
<Alicia> * Charlotte holds up the knife to display it, before moving to the other knives to complete the collection.
<DeathStar> *the ghost turns and the room begins to thaw out some; moving over to Noire and Charlotte, then touches the display, her handprint appearing, then bows at them and seems to vanish*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> The ghost readings seem to be going down
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "She can rest now."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "..mmm...good." *looks at Taiga and Adeline* "...and how are you two holding up?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> My datapad froze up at one point. I could use a return trip to Asteroid C.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I am well. Thank you
<DeathStar> *downstairs, a Frankstein like roar is heard, beating up their van*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Dammit, my van
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...how annoying..."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Lets just go to Asteroid C already.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...be sure to lock up first."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "If Frankenstein's Monster there ends up stealing the knife again, it's the ghost's problem this time."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Right. *She goes downstairs to lock the door where the monster grabs her; a scuffle is heard downstairs*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> .. will she be okay?
<Alicia> * Charlotte hurries downstairs.
<DeathStar> *Ren is being held up in the air by the monster*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> .... *uses the watch to go, showing the others how to do so when they're ready. She warps out*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *walks downstairs* "...anyone have matches or a lighter?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> *forms foxfire, waving it in her hand as she tries to touch it while being held up*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It needs to see your fire because its primitive brain should have justa fight or flight or instinct!"
<DeathStar> *Ren throws the foxfire down into it's face. The monster roars in fear and drops her*
<DeathStar> <Monster> Fire....bad
<DeathStar> *it backs up*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Phew... glad it didn't choose fight. Lets choose flight ourselves now."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm... yes..."
<DeathStar> *Ren sets it on fire anyway* Lets go
<DeathStar> *She warps out with everyone*
<DeathStar> -SHIFT-
<DeathStar> Location: Asteroid C
<DeathStar> *Ren dusts herself off as they arrive, tossing Akatsuki a snack; Adeline and Taiga are going over repairing her datapad*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "We did a good thing today."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "..though it did get annoying for a bit..."
<DeathStar> <Ren> I agree. <Taiga> While you're all here, I could use something from a quick reality stop. I'm close to finding these Illium Overlords, but I need a material. *She brings it up on screen*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...a...material?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Yeah. After the Striker being damaged a few years back, I made a new one instead of using the old model
<DeathStar> <Ren> All you have to do is basically ride in it and it'll do the work
<DeathStar> *tAIGA
<DeathStar> *Taiga opens the gate* I'll come along with you and Adeline will be gate operator. Come on
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Very well..."
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I'm intrigued too."
<DeathStar> *As they step through the gate, the group arrives on what appears to be Geyze*
<DeathStar> *Taiga holds in her hands a toy looking Striker ship*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> We should not linger too long if we can help it.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "So what are we looking for?"
<DeathStar> *Ren looks around; the academy looks to be in disarray, with crude drawings all over it*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "What are we looking *at*?"
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The ship will scan for a special type of spirit ore that will help power some scanning systems I need and help lock onto the signatures of the Overlords - I hope. *She peers up* Oh. This reality? Well. You see. *She leans in*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> The kids.
<DeathStar> <Ren> The kids?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Looks liek the Academy was vandalized."
<DeathStar> *one of the writings talks about the children*
<DeathStar> *And no adults*
<DeathStar> *the ground shakes and Terra, who looks to be about 8, peers at the group*
<DeathStar> <Terra> You look like ... adults
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I'm getting bad vibes about this place already."
<Jackieness> <Noire> *just turns to look at Taiga*
<DeathStar> *Taiga quietly backs up while Ren coughs, looking the oldest of them all*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Ah, um you see... we're just big children
<DeathStar> <Terra> Oh. Okay
<DeathStar> *She sinks, easily fooled*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> You see, the adults here were kind of jerks and the children overthrew everyone
<DeathStar> <Taiga> So now it's a children rule the world situation
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "...that's better than I was worried it'd be."
<DeathStar> *As Charlotte says that, the group is caught in a net*
<DeathStar> *with Bella and Cloé staring at them*
<DeathStar> <Cloé> W-We got them!
<DeathStar> *she begins to drag her net towards the Academy grounds*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...Taiga...I blame you this time."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... next time, explaination after we're in the ship
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...obviously."
<DeathStar> *the group is dragged toward the center where the children peer at them - Aimee, Melodie, Seniga, Terra, Fae, the younger Spirits like Soren, Cloud, Avenir, Nocturne, etc.*
<DeathStar> *it looks like Bella is the human leader while Aimee and Melodie are the spirit leaders*
<DeathStar> <Mélodie> We should kill them
<DeathStar> <Cloé> E-Exile them. Killing bad
<DeathStar> *She hides behind Bella*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...we're just visitng. We have no itnention of staying or otherwise interfering with your playtime."
<DeathStar> <Cloé> *She peeks around Bella* That's what every adult says. *She leans in toward Bella* S-She says we'll exile you until we look into you more. *the group is dragged into the exile chamber in one of the class rooms which is a ball pit*
<DeathStar> *Ren flails in the ball pit once dumped in*
<DeathStar> *Taiga crosses her arms*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> ... what?
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "At least we get extra time in the ball pit."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...why didn't you just open the protal further form the Academy?"
<DeathStar> *as the children leave, Taiga peers up* Lets just sneak out of the pit
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...hold on, I have an idea. I'll open a shadowport to the top of the adminstrative pyramid where they cna't climb up so easily. Then you cna inflate your Striker ship and we'll be on our way."
<DeathStar> *TAiga pauses, having been trying to get out and struggling* That works
<Jackieness> <Noire> *tries opening a shadowport*
<DeathStar> *she succeeds and Taiga and Ren move to do so*
<Alicia> * Charlotte follows the others out.
<DeathStar> *The children though seem on top of things and move to surround the pyramid, shaking their fists as the spirits begin to act; but surprisingly it's Bella who begins to climb the pyramid quickly, planning to do battle*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Ack, it's the kid
<DeathStar> *Taiga begins to grow the Striker ship and opens the ramp, going inside it*
<DeathStar> *Ren flails at Bella nearly at the top*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "See, we're leaving!" *jumps for the ramp, reaching out to grab Ren once on it*
<DeathStar> *Ren grabs onto her*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *boards the Striker ship*
<DeathStar> *the Striker ship takes off as Bella stands at the summit, watching them go*
<DeathStar> *Ren joins Taiga on the bridge* <Ren> Is that kid going to chase us?
<DeathStar> *the Striker going up into space*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "She is quite athletic, but does not appear to possess the ability of flight.
<DeathStar> <Striker computer> A Dragon is detected in flight.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...what?"
<DeathStar> *A dragon chases after them, with someone riding it. Bella*
<DeathStar> *sadly, the Striker goes up into space and the chase ends there*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Alright, lets continue - the ship will lead us to where we need to go. *indeed, it's in autopilot mode.*
<DeathStar> *Ren leans back and has Charlotte on her lap, relaxing, when the ship detection picks up multiple ships in their path - it looks a lot like the Red Fleet; hailing occurs*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm?"
<DeathStar> *Taiga and answers and then blinks; on the screen is ---*
<DeathStar> *Pirates Charlotte, the leader of the Reds, Noire, her first "mate", Ren her pet fox, and a bunch of Dark One crew*
<DeathStar> <Charlotte> You'll surrender that ship---- *She squints*
<DeathStar> *Pirate Charlotte
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...this is getting stupid!"
<DeathStar> <Pirate Noire> You're one to talk.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Charlotte, deal with yourself."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Why am I a pet?!
<DeathStar> <Ren> I'm not some parrot
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "I try. Now, are you certain you want to pick a fight with a ship you have no clue as to the capabilities of?"
<DeathStar> <Pirate Charlotte> You seem to be underestimating my dark crew - me. *she leans back in her seat* Seeing as you're us, what could you offer us in exchange? Mmmm?
<DeathStar> *Ren mumbles, remaining offended that she's just perched on a shoulder*
<Alicia> <Charlotte> "Apart from information..." *looks to Taiga* "Do we even have any cargo? This isn't exactly a hauler."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> All we have really is us. We could sell the children. *She jokes*
<DeathStar> <Pirate Charlotte> What information are you having that we might have? *Taiga sighs and begins to list the info on her ship*
<DeathStar> <Pirate Charlotte> Send it over and we'll be on our way.
<DeathStar> *Taiga tchs and prepares to send it*
