<DeathStar> *She notes, peering out at the samey roads.*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Until the scenery starts to blend together..."
<DeathStar> *as they drive by, they pass a sign claiming the world's largest ball of catfur is down the left road. Andrea pushes her face against the window* <Andrea> I wonder how big that is
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...mother..."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Fine, fine.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren, what is our next destination?"
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Balls of cat fur normally don't get that big, so it's probably only the size of a basketball or so."

<DeathStar> <Ren> We're coming up on Salem. Sadly, we missed all the parties this time of year, but we can still see what other activites they're doing
<Jackieness> <Noire> "As in the witch trials?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> The very same. It's mostly a party town these days though
<Jackieness> <Noire> "mmmmm...to think such barbarism now fuels a glorified tourist trap."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Is it uncommon?"
<DeathStar> *Ren drives the town where one can see various ghost tours being advertised all over the place*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm? Uncommon?"
<DeathStar> *As well as stuff to buy.*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "To turn old barbarism into tourism"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It is too common..."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Aw, it's so cute here. *Ren stops them at what looks to be in front of a place called the House of the Seven Gables and parks* Let us get some food and walk around before getting back on the road. *the mystery van can be seen driving further into town and out of sight*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Do not tell Yoiyami about this, but the same happens with pirates. I am sure she would argue that there were many traits of old time pirates that were admirable, but..."
<DeathStar> *Revi looks around* So people go on tours to scare themselves?
<DeathStar> <Ren> It's really bustling during the Halloween season.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Sometimes."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Just wait until we reach Area 51. Now that'll be a hoot
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Its the adrenaline rush."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Ah, real life aliens at Area 51."
<DeathStar> *Ren leads them into town proper; there the group would see stores selling all sorts of witches stuff, charms, spell books, as well a diner with a witch theme*
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Hm. *she heads for the store to browse*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I imagine the spell books are fake."
<DeathStar> <Fate> The irony is there are some spirits still lingering in this town even after all this time.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mass produced knock offs for tourists."
<DeathStar> <Revi> So nothing is real here? *she holds up a charm promising protection*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I have no idea, I am not exactly the expert in magic."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Let me see it."
<DeathStar> *Revi hands it over to Noire*
<DeathStar> *the person behind the counter looks to be a bored teen chewing gum*
<DeathStar> *occassionally looking at her datapad*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *examines it for authenticity*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "As expected. This was printed with a machine."
<DeathStar> *Andrea purchases a sexy witch outfit and changes in the back; returning a moment later in it*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I also doubt the witches dressed like that. It is a real outfit though, so at least there is that."
<Alicia> * Jikuu says as if someone would sell fake clothes

<DeathStar> <Andrea> I think I saw other outfits on the rack if you all want one.
<Alicia> * Jikuu looks like she doesn't quite understand the concept, but has no issue with it
<DeathStar> *there appear to be various types of witch outfits - the standard witch outfit, an animeish witch outfit, sexy witch like Andrea has, and a more spooky witch*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...anyway...Revi, not at all real or effective."
<DeathStar> <Revi> Shucks. *she puts it back up*
<DeathStar> *Ren and Taiga seem to be eyeing the witch outfits and both seem to be thinking none fit them. Cheryl and X meanwhile have opted to head for the diner*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm?" *looks over at Ren and Taiga*
<DeathStar> *Ren holds up a cute witch doll that she's opted to buy instead* I think I'll grab this while here. I've been buying little things at each stop
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Oh?"

<Seraphna> **Kaelan puts a witch hat on Ren**

<DeathStar> *Revi thinks and looks at Jikuu* We are family as well. *She looks around, and grabs a sign that as "I am having a Witch of a Day", and gives it to Jikuu*

<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I guess that is fitting. Thank you."

<DeathStar> *Ren pauses then seems close to mouth and Taiga eyes the charm*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *gives the charm a more thorough exam*
<DeathStar> *it looks to be made of strange material. Could even be certain animal bone, who knows*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...its a ward against evil. A real one."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Ah."
<DeathStar> <Ren> It looks creepy
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And you didn't burst into flames while handling this, mother?"
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Oh ho ho ho ho~
<DeathStar> *she lifts her hand up to her mouth* Such a mouth on you these days

<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Would that be a likely occurance?"
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Mmm. I suppose that would be how you defy evil, my dear.

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mother preferred more petty evil... like tearing off mattress tags or bookmaking for highschool basketball games."

<DeathStar> <Andrea> Where I wanted to build things than tear it down

<DeathStar> *back in the van, Taiga studies the map while Ren drives* <Ren> Ugh, this part of the country is boring, so much nothing but prisons and large forests
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm?"
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I could go without the prisons."

<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ren, what is the enxt destination?"
<Seraphna> **Jaime examines Adeline in a witch outfit she bought her**
<DeathStar> *as the van drives along, Revi points out the window at a large gathering of people in soldier outfits of various eras - from the Ridiarum War, to even older, all out doing renactments of them on the various battlefields in the area* <Ren> Well, my idea was to keep heading south toward .... *she eyes all the people out in the cold* What are they doing?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "..it appears to be conflicting historical battle re-enactments."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> ... *leans out the window* Is that a thing? One era versus another?
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Cause one of them appears to have blasters and I don't even know what the other has
<Jackieness> <Noire> "..not typically..."
<DeathStar> *Ren slows to watch; at a glance, it looks like the two groups are yelling each other and not fighting normally. It looks like they're not happy to be around each other and they're waving their weapons at the other.*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I sure hope those are toys
<Seraphna> Angela> Chii I think they’re breaking LARP rules.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...if I had to guess...they are angry that they both decided to use the field at the same time."
<DeathStar> *Chii appears out of thin air* <Chii> And why should we care if some LARPers blast each other?
<Seraphna> Angela> The Code of RPG Players. The sacred one you made me take.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I hope they are LARPers."
<DeathStar> <Chii> Wait, what? *She aims that question at both Angela and Jikuu*
<Seraphna> Angela> The one I had to take before I could play your console.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "It would be just our luck if it was a real timewarp."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...let's hope not then."
<DeathStar> *the one group of soldiers, who look to be larping as soldiers from an ancient war long ago, are lining up in lines, aiming their rifles at the Ridiarium LARPers, who are taking up positions with their blasters*
<DeathStar> <Chii> Fine
<DeathStar> *she grabs Astra suddenly, despite her hard to detect ability*
<DeathStar> <Chii> But if I'm going out there, she's coming with
<Alicia> <Astra> "...what? Why?"
<DeathStar> <Chii> It'll do you good.
<DeathStar> *Cheryl, Ren, and Taiga move to get out of the van*
<Alicia> <Astra> "...w...what...?"
<DeathStar> *Chii pulls Astra along with her* <Chii> I'll keep you safe. Come on
<Seraphna> Jaime> I wonder how they do enactments of Suisen wars.
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Good question. Want to see sometime?
<Seraphna> Jaime> That could be fun.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "They wear ship cosplays."

<Alicia> * Jikuu also goes with Chii, given all of that.
<DeathStar> *Revi follows Jikuu out to the battle field, where both sides have noticed the group approaching and seem to have called a time out*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *shrugs and moves with the group*
<Seraphna> Angela> Crossover wars seem like a fun game idea.
<DeathStar> *the leaders of both men come over; the leader of the Ridiarum Wars is dressed up a lot like Cran almost* <Ridiarum Commander> Civilians should not be on the battle field!
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Sorry, we did not know there was even a battle here."
<DeathStar> <Ridiarium> Unless you want to take part in the gaming afterward.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Explain."
<Seraphna> Jaime> Civilians?
<DeathStar> <Other Soldier> He's been an ass. It's what you call outsiders. <Ridiarum Captain> You shouldn't even be here. Your field isn't even located here. <Other Captain> Well we can't use it!
<DeathStar> <Ridiarium Captain> This guy is enacted some war from 1000 years ago, can you believe it, and is now trying to claim our space. Well, we got all the permits ahead of time. *nods*
<DeathStar> *Chii begins to look like she's getting that far away look*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And why can you not use your field?"
<DeathStar> *the other Captain looks like he doesn't want to say it, then looks around and leans forward toward Noire* It's .... well, when we went there .... it was.... we saw something.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Ah, we should check on that."
<DeathStar> *Ren nods* It could be something interesting
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And that something was..what?"
<DeathStar> <Captain> It was home ofa famous battle long ago. And well, when we were there to enact it. There was like people already there. But they looked see through. With see through weapons. We didn't stick around for long. We kind of ran
<DeathStar> *The Ridiarium Captain has begun to laugh his ass off*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "We'll go and take a look."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> *shakes head* <Chii> I think this one should give up being a soldier
<DeathStar> <Ridiarium Captain> After you're done chasing ghosts, if you want to come back here and play games with us - we'll be having good, drinks, D&D, and more. We could always use some pretty girls
<DeathStar> *he winks at at them*
<DeathStar> *Ren adjusts her witch's hat as she walks along the trail toward where the one field is located* <Taiga> So what are we thinking?
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Observe for now?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm...assuming its not their imaginings, standard haunting."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> I think the renactment stuff is silly - how long has that been going on?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Centuries."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Mm~
<DeathStar> *she walks hand in hand with Jaime*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "This is why we observe, to find if it is real."
<DeathStar> *The woods in the area ARE rather creepy, especially with the sun getting lower. Revi keeps close to Jikuu, peering around and finally lifting her fox mask up so she can see the world with her true eyes. Chii sticks with Aska as promised*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm..."
<DeathStar> *as they reach an area that feels like it might have been a park, once upon time, but the area around here seems to have been neglected over the many centuries as EarthGov has risen to power. Grass has risen up, while structures can be seen about the area, they look to be mostly abandoned, giving the park a feel of isolation. However in the distance a blue glow can be seen in the field*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "This area appears neglcted... strange that the LARPers were going to use it."
<Seraphna> **Jaime squeezes her hand gently**
<DeathStar> *Adeline looks around* Hm. Time continues to march on
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Why would they not use the deserted area?"
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I bet they learned about the park and looked it up, and thought it would be a cool place to enact battles. Or maybe they really are history buffs
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Its off the beaten path and suffering neglect."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> I personally prefer the peace time - why renact the war
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Some people enjoy that."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...that way..." *starts walking* "Ren, look up what you can about this place."
<DeathStar> *as they near the blue light, up ahead they indeed would see what looks to be blue glowing figures on the field. The figures seem to be running around with guns on the field - but oddity is that they are using more modern tech and weapons against what looks to be alien invaders. It looks to be one of the battles that occurred here on Earth long ago. Ren begins to do so while Cheryl stares at the blue glowing figures*
<DeathStar> <Chii> The kid said nothing about aliens when he ran off.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Why would he?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Most of us count as aliens or part alien."
<DeathStar> *the battle appears to be the one that occurred during the Session 525*
<DeathStar> <Ren> According to history, this is a park dedicated to a battle when this was still the American State and it had a civil war. This is uh, a place called Gettysberg. There was uh, no aliens in that war. Unless one side was something we did not know about. That was like a 1000 + years ago. Like older than Miyuki time
<Jackieness> <Noire> "More recent history then, Ren."
<DeathStar> *The blue lights, if one studies it hard, do not really look all that ghostly*
<DeathStar> *After a bit, they vanish and another blue light appears - this time it looks to be Ridiariums and humans fighting on the field*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *rises her hands and tries to sense things out with her sorcery*
<DeathStar> *Noire would detect something from a nearby structure*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...this way..." *heads toward the structure*
<Alicia> * Jikuu follows
<DeathStar> *in one of the ruined buildings, a Tsvrixsh female, her hair in a ponytail, is sitting before a device; she has VR like goggles on and seems to be plugged into the device. It looks like she is running scenarios which are being displayed on the screen; on her head seems to be headphones that are playing music, oblivious of the team approaching*
<DeathStar> <Chii> What the hell is this?
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I don't believe I ever seen a techie Tsivrixsh before
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Is this really the place for VR?"
<Seraphna> Jaime> They must have them. Those ships get made somehow.
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Do we .... shake her?
<DeathStar> *Taiga leans forward*
<DeathStar> *and pulls her headphones off. The Tsivixsh screams and jerks forward, tripping*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...well?"
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> Oh #$$#$#$. *Tsvrixsh curse. Curse curse*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Come on, it is not that bad."
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> ... *she composes herself and looks at them* Well YOU scared ME. Why are you even HERE?
<Seraphna> Jaime> Oh my. Was I too intimidating?
<DeathStar> *she sees Revi there and jerks, suddenly kneeling before them* <Tsivrixsh> Ah, forgive me
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Investigating the 'ghosts'."
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> G-Ghosts? A-Are there ghosts here?
<Seraphna> Jaime> Impressive respect you get, sister.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "your VR setup appears to have been projecting into the outside world."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Probably not."

<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> Ah, forgive me! I was unaware.
<DeathStar> *She bows her head* Did I upset you? You may have my unworthy head

<DeathStar> <Chii> *looks over the VR stuff, holding it up to Astra* Hm. I wonder what this was for.
<Alicia> * Astra looks it over
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Yes, do explain all this."
<DeathStar> *it appears to be connected to both EarthGov and Xevil's Homeworld*
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> I apologize! *she repeats* We were running training simulations using past battles to help train EarthGov soldiers and Tsivrixsh warriors.
<Alicia> <Astra> "Does it really need to... oh, I see."
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> It is so messy to have them train together
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> If it was a success, we were going to roll out the program to the Suisen and other worlds next
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Understandable."
<DeathStar> *the nervous Tsivrixsh woman looks ready to have a nervous break down when one of the simulation beeps and begins to make noises. She jerks and tries to get back to it when it flashes red*
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> Nooo~
<DeathStar> *she slumps*
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I think the simulation crashed
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...clearly needs some work still."
<DeathStar> <Tsivrixsh> I'm so going to get fired...
<DeathStar> *she downs what looks like Omega Coke*
<DeathStar> <Adeline> Even her way of speaking is unusual
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well...now that the mystery is solved, we should get back to those LARPers."
<DeathStar> <Ren> True. Do we want to stick around for the party?
<DeathStar> *She turns to go, leaving the Tsivrixsh party wallowing on her knees*
<DeathStar> *woman
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Some people have different ways of speaking, Adeline."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...bring her with us."
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> I can do that
<DeathStar> *she lifts her up*
<DeathStar> *as they head back through the fields, it is much quieter now as evening is setting in. Fireflies are dancing around the team*
<DeathStar> *Ren tries to catch one while rubbing her hands*
<DeathStar> *at the LARPers, they have set up a fire and seem to have brought food and drinks, as well as setting up a table with games. They glance up and one person goes whoa at seeing the blue woman they bring back*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I wonder how many there are."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> How many of what?
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I would not believe my eyes if there were ten thousand of them."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It wasn't ghosts. It was a glorified video game that was accidentally output to holoemitters."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "The fireflies."
<Seraphna> Angela> She seems so familiar.
<DeathStar> *Ren thinks, studying them out in the distance* I don't know. But they're very pretty.
<DeathStar> <Ridiarium Captain> See? Scared for nothing!
<DeathStar> *the other captain just glowers; Noire is offered a drink*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...mmmm?" *takes the drink*
<DeathStar> *the entire team is offered food and drink as well*
<DeathStar> *Ren has already begun to eat, ears perking up*
<DeathStar> <Game Master> So, ... *He says to those at his table* Your characters all meet up at an abandoned park and decided you want to explore it at night. *Ren pauses, glancing around as it has indeed become night*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "The realism in this game is impressive."
<DeathStar> *The Tsivrixsh woman eyes the nerds oogling and makes a low pitch noise, shifting toward Astra*
<DeathStar> <Game Master> As you stand around your table, deciding what to do first, you hear in the distance what sounds like a bird. *indeed, out in the distance, from the direction of the team's van, a bird makes a noise*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmmm?"
<DeathStar> <Game> Ah, right. While you uh, look into the distance. You think you see a monsterous shape peering back at you. *indeed, the group sees what looks to be a giant Dark One shape, staring back at them from the van, looming. It doesn't take long for the LARPers to begin clearing out for the ngiht - more like they run for it, leaving the group alone by the fire*

<DeathStar> *Andrea poofs back to her younger form and joins the fire* <Andrea> Did I interrupt something? *She grabs some food that was left behind*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "At the very least, this mystery was more mundane in nature."
<DeathStar> <Adeline> I almost feel bad
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "That was a shame."
<DeathStar> *The Tsivrixsh woman lets out a breath and guzzles her drink down* Oh ... what will I do now. I'll likely be replaced after messing up the project again
<DeathStar> <Fate> Were you hoping to get to know a nice LARPer? *she jokes, sitting by Jikuu*
<DeathStar> *Ren studies the map she has on her* So. You want to camp out here for the night and resume in the morning?
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Tabletop games can be fun."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Yes, let's."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Yes."
<DeathStar> <Fate> We can play some games
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Yes. Let us play some games before the night ends
<DeathStar> *The Tsivirxsh flops on her side, as if that idea is simply out of the question. Chii pokes her with a stick*

<Jackieness> <Noire> "What were Cheryl and X playing earlier?"
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> Oh that
<DeathStar> *Cheryl and X nod* <X> Poker and Black Jack. We have been challenging each other on the side. <Cheryl> Preparing for when we reach Las Vegas

<DeathStar> *As Ren begins to move them back onto the van, Isis is there cleaning up the back of it*

<DeathStar> *the black van never seems to bother them as they drive along; Isis goes about serving tea and food and soon they approach South Carolina, Charleston. This seems to be one of the stops Ren has planned as she begins to pull in for the time being when Jaime's datapad beeps*
<DeathStar> *the black van does it's typical speed ahead and around the corner as Ren stops in the city in front of the waterfront*

<DeathStar> *Ren would lead the group out of the van and along the water front where they would spy Jaime being in front of the black van as someone who looks like Lenneth being grabbed into said van and it peeling off, driving away. A moment later, there's a flash in the air that seems to blind everyone and weaken Progenitors*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "What just happened?!"
<DeathStar> <Ren> I have no idea. Gah. I can't see
<DeathStar> *as their eyes finally adjust*
<Seraphna> **Jaime groans and punches the ground, sending fists of stone up at the van as it drives**
<DeathStar> *there is a crowd all around them staring about confused; especially as Jaime sends the van crashing*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan tilts her head, then starts gliding like a shadow along the ground towads the van, hopping shadows**
<DeathStar> *the driver of the van begins to climb out and wobbles*
<DeathStar> *then tries to book it*
<Seraphna> **Jaime ground slides along the road, moving swiftly**
<DeathStar> *Isis arrives at the crashed van with Jaime*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan tries tying the driver to his own shadow**
<Seraphna> **Jaime rips the van door open**
<DeathStar> *the driver oofs and fals over as the door van opens and it's empty - signs of personal teleporter being used to transport the occupants. The only drawback is the short range, meaning that they could not have gone far and are likely either still in the city or the just barely out ofthe city range*
<DeathStar> *the police have finally also begun to arrive on the scene*
<Seraphna> Jaime> They can't have gotten far with this garbage.
