<DeathStar> *Ren has taken them to a city where the northen lights dance in the sky all the time, arriving at a place with hotsprings for them to to enjoy before heading further northward to experience the endless nights. Ren arranges for all of them to enjoy the hotsprings there without anyone else bothering them*
<DeathStar> *Andrea already takes advantage of slipping into the water and enjoying the nothern lights - without much in the way of clothes. Revi rubs her hands, following suit*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *steps out from the changing room* "Mmmmmm..."
<DeathStar> *Ren brings her own sake to the water* <Ren> They shouldn't mind since we're renting the entire place out. *she hops in and sips her sake*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *climbs into the water* "I suppose there are perks to money and influence."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Don't tell Kaelan, but I'm putting it on her dime.
<DeathStar> <Revi> .. *seems to be staring up at the lights mostly*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *lets out an ojou laugh at that crack at Kaelan's expense*
<DeathStar> <Ren> After this, we'll be heading further north and check out some parks in the remaining days before Christmas Eve, then we'll fly out to Germany. So we'll have a few days left to explore the the wilderness up here.
<Alicia> * Jikuu relaxes in the hot springs, not bothering with clothes for this
<DeathStar> *Revi speaks to Jikuu, though her comment is out there for everyone else too, while staring upward* It seems rather peaceful out here - the sky, the cold air mixing with the hot water. Is this why people enjoy the hotsprings?

<DeathStar> <Andrea> .... *holds a drink of her own* <Andrea> It is also good at keeping one looking young
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Probably. I cannot say for sure."
<DeathStar> *there's a snort sound outside the hotsprings, almost like someone is out there. Watching. Ren pauses, turning to look around the walls, ears twitching*
<Jackieness> <Lana> "...show yourself!"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...show yourself!"
<DeathStar> <Andrea> I am rather surprised at someone being brave enough to spy.
<DeathStar> *slowly, a moose head rises up over the wall to look at them - Ren stares at it*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...one of the local fauna."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I have not seen a moose before, they are quite large."
<DeathStar> *Revi nods in agreement*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Quite so." *leans back int he water again*
<DeathStar> *The moose seems to stare at them for a bit, then wanders off* <Andrea> I heard you do not want to get in a fight with one.
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Or is that a kangaroo
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Either of them."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> I admit I am surprised Dias has never challenged either
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Perhaps they are his spirit animal."
<DeathStar> <Ren> So - we're comparing Dias to a 'roo?
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "That is not how it works."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Bounces around punching at anything that moves?"

<DeathStar> *Revi considers that* A Raven - I could see that. Ravens are smart and they can be very loyal.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "And symbolize everytrhign from misfortune to wisdom."

<DeathStar> <Andrea> Most of us find we are are made up of many masks. The masks we show family - the masks we show friends, the masks we show co-workers, and the masks we show strangers.

<DeathStar> *the group has been driving and has slowly started to become night as they do. While driving though, while making breakfast? Well, according to their van clocks, the smell has drawn something from the dark outside the van and it as begun to follow them.*

<DeathStar> *Andrea ponders, studying Jikuu*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...do you wish to clarify your claim?"
<DeathStar> <Andrea> That is great and all, but that means you are just as open with your lover as you are with a stranger, you know
<DeathStar> <Andrea> The anaology means there are sides of you that you do not wish to share with everyone
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Do you have to discuss everything with everyone?"
<Jackieness> <Noire> "If you withold, then that is a form of mask, is it not?"
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "There are not the hours in the day."
<DeathStar> *Ren rubs head* Jikuu. This is just my advise
<DeathStar> <Ren> Sometimes it is okay to keep parts of you - for yourself.
<DeathStar> <Ren> And when you share it - then it means all the world
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I still believe strongly in open communication... enough meaning is lost with mere words."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...how open?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> Open communication is very important. I agree. I know your mother believed in it as well. But I do not believed even she opened up everything about herself. Even in politics she held back information.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "There are things I cannot communicate, as much as I try. Or perhaps people merely do not care. I do not know."
<DeathStar> *Revi seems to be trying to keep up with this conversation and looking lost*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...perhaps we should move on to another topic. Not everyone is enjoying this covnersation."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "...I understand."
<DeathStar> <Revi> Ah? Sorry. I feel like I cannot grasp certain .... aspects. Would it not be benefit all to just open one's mind to each other?
<DeathStar> <Revi> That would be the purest way to communication
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "Probably, but people tend not to like that."
<DeathStar> <Ren> That is one way. But it should be reserved for close friends or lovers, in my opinion. Like Charlotte and I.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...I would not like others in my mind."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I am just tired of being misunderstood."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "then grow, evolve, and overcome."
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I try."
<DeathStar> *Andrea seems to be silent, drinking her drink* If Jikuu is willing to open her mind up to others with the same intimacy level as with Victoire in order to connect with others in order to be understood, that is a lot of strength of will to manage.
<DeathStar> <Andrea> Not many are willing to open their minds fully though. I'd look closer to home - perhaps someone who is always hanging around you and Victoire.

<DeathStar> *Cheryl leans back, arms crossed, while Fate and Revi seem to be trying to look out the windows while Ren drives, a Charlotte key chain jingling on the review mirror*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *works on their breakfast*
<DeathStar> <Revi> I think your breakfast is attracting something large in the dark
<DeathStar> <Taiga> And for once it is not Ren
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "I hope it is not a polar bear."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm?"
<DeathStar> *Taiga has been setting up something to look into the dark when three large white shapes begin to get closer to the van*
<DeathStar> *Revi points at the three large bears* <Revi> I think those are bears. <Taiga> I don't know much about polar bears, is that a bad thing?
<DeathStar> *she turns to Jikuu*
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "They are known to follow for some time."
<DeathStar> <Fate> Should I throw something out the window at them?
<Jackieness> <Noire> "No, that will not deter them."
<DeathStar> *Chii pauses, about to toss Kaelan*
<DeathStar> <Chii> Fine, what should we do then?
<DeathStar> <Ren> We're near the place I've rented out - for the uh... *looks at the night* Day.
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "They will probably not approach a settlement."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Regardless, breakfast is ready."
<DeathStar> *she moves to the table to sit, along with Taiga and Fate*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *plates and serves the others*
<DeathStar> *as they eat one bear tries to swipe the van*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Whoa!
<DeathStar> <Ren> Are you kidding me?
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "No, they are hungry and there is not much food around here. Well, except in here."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...how annoying."
<DeathStar> <Fate> I almost want to feed the bears. <Taiga> Do not feed the bears.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "That would result in their associatign humans with food, increasing the chance of more encoutners with humans, and leading to authorities having to euthanize the bears."
<DeathStar> *true to Jikuu's words, they back off after a bit and soon the group approaches what looks to be a bunch of log cabins and a resort like area. Complete with a lake for ice fishing. Ren parks the van - no one oddly comes to greet them, and the snow outside is blowing rather hard*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...let's get our key from the office."
<DeathStar> *Ren hops out and heads for the largest building - the lights are on but no one is there, but there is a note on the front desk with the keys set out. Ren looks around curiously*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Well, Ren?"
<DeathStar> <Ren> The note says they're out dealing with something - to make ourselves at home and enjoy all the stuff here. There's hot tubs, food in the fridge, ice fishing, games and more, hiking, telescopes, etc
<Alicia> <Jikuu> "No hiking right now, at least."
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Strange that they left no one at all to man the desk."
<Alicia> <Astra> "Maybe they needed everyone?"
<DeathStar> <Fate> Hm. *she looks around*
<DeathStar> <Revi> *to Astra* It is possible. I wonder what it could be
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Still..."
<DeathStar> *Ren heads upstairs and opens their room - it is a massive room with many beds, a view of the resort, a large hot tub, and food and drinks ready for them at the bar*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "i'll join you after I've had a look around."
<Alicia> * Astra looks around, but seems more focused on games than clues
<DeathStar> *Astra would find video games, as well as board games, etc. It seems to be a wealth of stuff to do*
<DeathStar> *there are the latest Kaori games here*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Are you sure...?
<DeathStar> <Andrea> I'll go with her
<DeathStar> *Andrea joins Noire*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...very well." *moves off toward the staff areas*
<DeathStar> *Taiga begins to set up her equipment in the roo as well*
<DeathStar> <Revi> *peers at Astra, having never played games before*
<DeathStar> *Andrea walks over toward the staff buidling; as the two walk she suddenly twitches and halts - Noire would feel what feels like dark faith energy in the area*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...I feel something off..."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> We should becareful. *she eyes the door to the staff building.* Are you prepared to go inside?
<Jackieness> <Noire> *pulls out a warding charm* "...ready."
<DeathStar> *Andrea steps inside and seems to look smaller, if possible, taking on her kid form - as if pulling in all her energy. Inside the room, Noire would feel suffocating dark enegy - which would normally be welcoming - but it's mingled with faith powers, corrupting it into something else. *
<DeathStar> *the area looks empty, but there is a noise coming from one of the bed rooms for the staff members in the back*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *moves toward the bedroom*
<DeathStar> *they discover someone laying on the bed, as if asleep, under the covers. Andrea studies the person, her eyes going red a moment* <Andrea> No heart beat.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm..." *tries to sense out the focal point of the energy*
<DeathStar> *back in the room with Astra/Ren/etc, there's a noise as someone slips in from the balcony*
<DeathStar> *it seems to be coming from outside the building - this energy looks to be left over now; some of it left over in the body and other places in the staff building*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *tries to follow the energy trail*
<DeathStar> *as Noire goes to leave, there's a noise back in the room they just left*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmm?" *turns to look*
<DeathStar> *a shadow seems to slip out of the room*
<DeathStar> <Andrea> ... *looks around, eyes glowing*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Show yourself."
<DeathStar> *the "Dead" staff member leaps at Noire, trying to sink their teeth into her neck - it appears they're a vampire and using their vampric strength to try to overpower Noire, of all people*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *summons her tendrils to try to drag them to the floor*
<DeathStar> *the vampire flails against the tendrils. At that moment on the comm, the room the others are heard being attacked*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...how annoying." *opens a shadowport to toss the vampire into*
<DeathStar> *the vampire is thrown away*
<DeathStar> <Andrea> It looks like we have a vampire problem - I'm still trying to understand where the dark power is coming from
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Perhaps one of the vampires we tangled with still has it out for us."
<DeathStar> <Andrea> I was unaware you had a list of them as enemies
<DeathStar> *Andrea begins to transverse back to the room*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...it happens. Last one was a boarding school in New Orleans." *heads back to the others*
<DeathStar> *as they return, they would find what looks to be a large number of Staff Vampires attacking the group. Ren is swinging a food tray at a few while Revi is using tendrils infused with hyperspace to try to destroy one*
<DeathStar> *the vampires here seem unusual - they look to be stronger and are glowing with dark energy, infused with the strange faith power in them; their wounds healing once inflicted*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "...there must be a master vampire around here somewhere." *tries to sense it out*
<DeathStar> *Noire would find no trace of a master vampire, oddly, but there does seem to be something powerful - out near the lake. It seems more tied to a powerful holy relic than anything vampric though*
<DeathStar> *Infact, Noire would feel as if whatever it is is trying to get it's hold on her and the others as well*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I sense something..." *then tries shadowporting their group to the lake*
<DeathStar> *The team drops on the lake where figures in black are standing around holding a plain looking cross in their hands, as well as being surrounded by vampires. One vampire in particular stands off to the side, not dressed as a staffer, next to the men holding the cross*
<DeathStar> *the men seem to observe Noire and company arrive as Ren holds her rear, landing roughly*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Ahhhh... and there is that stolen relic. Surely not a mere coincidence."
<Seraphna> Jaime> See how Revi destroyed her foes Deathstroyer. That is how to defeat our enemies.
<DeathStar> **the men in black motion at the vampire to move down toward Noire, and they to teleport one by one - looking like they hald personal teleporters. It appears they're used to the team's abilities by now* <Isis> I believe it's that group again. <Lenneth> I'd count on it. *she tries to throw one of the games Astra was playing with at one*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "How annoying." *summons her tendrils and rises over the inbound vampires*
<Seraphna> **Jaime pulls out a gun**
<DeathStar> *The vampire snarls and uses vampire gaze to try to make Noire obey it*
<DeathStar> *trying to convince it to attack Ren*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm..." *uses her tendrils to kick up a cloud of frost from the lake*
<DeathStar> *Revi forms hyperspace and fires at the vanishing men, tagging one's arms*
<DeathStar> *the frost makes the vampire's gaze fail*
<DeathStar> *so Ren leaps forward and claws at it's face*
<Seraphna> **Jaime fires the hand cannon, which bullets seem to blast hyperspace**
<Jackieness> <Noire> *then tries to use her tendrils to tie down the vampire minions like she did with the one from earlier*
<DeathStar> *the vampire is dusted. With it dead, Andrea looks back at the vampire army that is approaching behind them - they all begin to turn back to normal*
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmmm...master vampire." *starts letting them go* "Go and secure the stolen relic."
<DeathStar> *Lenneth kneels down and picks up some of the clothing from the men who escaped the area* They're gone already
<DeathStar> *she holds out something* <Lenneth> But this was left behind
<Seraphna> Jaime> This gun I made Adeline is quite good. See Deathstroyer.
<DeathStar> <Taiga> Deathstroyer?
<Seraphna> **Jaime pulls out her baby turkey**
<DeathStar> <Taiga> You seriously are going with that name for it
<Seraphna> Jaime> A mighty name for our Turkey Killer.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm" *looks over*
<DeathStar> *Ren takes the scrap of cloth with Noire - it looks to be a burnt logo of some sort of bird. Likely for some sort of mercenary group? Or maybe a company? Who knows*
<DeathStar> <Ren> ... It's too damaged to tell what it fully is... I'm pretty sure it's a bird, but I can't tell what it is. And there's no name with it due to the damage.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "It would not surprise me that they are associated with the ones who tried kidnapping Lenneth."
<DeathStar> <Revi> The ones we want to spank
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmm...see to the liberated staffers."
<DeathStar> <Taiga> I can see if I can't figure out who they belong to - if we can learn who this third party is later, we can take the fight to them at some point in the future.

<DeathStar> Location: Resort
<DeathStar> *with the staff taken care of now that the vampire/cross is gone, as well as the other guests, the place has become more lively again, though it does remain dark all the time. Taiga sticks to the room, doing research, while Ren is out at the lake, trying her hand at ice fishing*
<DeathStar> *the polar bears meanwhile have returned, eyeing the place from a distance*
<DeathStar> *the Tsivrixsh scientist sets up shop to study them back*
<Jackieness> <Noire> *sits in a hot tub* "...mmmm..."
<Seraphna> **Thena plots to tame a polar bear**
<DeathStar> *Revi peers at Noire* You really like places of warm water, hm?
<DeathStar> *Andrea is out on the roof*
<DeathStar> *The polar bear studies Thena like she is a meal*
<Seraphna> **Kaelan slides into the hot tub**
<Seraphna> **Thena makes grabby hands** Teddy will be mine.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "I lived in a condo that my sister owned. It had a large balcony that included a hot tub."
<DeathStar> <Revi> I guess that is why Ren installed one on the van. *She muses as she joins Noire as well*
<DeathStar> *the polar bear charges Thena and tries to eat her*
<DeathStar> *Fate writes stuff down at the desk*
<DeathStar> *Ren sits nearby, wearing glasses, as she seems to be plotting out their trip to Germany and all the places they can go. Plus she is making sure to invite everyone since it is Christmas*
<Seraphna> **Thena whaps it on the nose with a cattle prod**
<DeathStar> *the polar bear goes down*
<DeathStar> <Heaven> You don't seriously plan to kidnap it, are you?
<Seraphna> **Thenas swarm it** It could be our ship protector and teddy!

<Seraphna> Thena> Dark Armor!
<DeathStar> *Ren leans back and prepares a Christmas shopping list, then leans back and calls into the hot tub room* Hey, Noire
<Jackieness> <Noire> "mmmmmm?"
<DeathStar> *The polar bear slowly begins to chew on thena's leg*
<DeathStar> <Ren> Is there anything in particular you want for Christmas this year?
<Seraphna> **A crystal guard protects the leg and she baps it** Bad Teddy.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Mmmmm...not in particular."
<DeathStar> <Ren> Kaelan keeps writing down that I should get you special outfits and underwear that you modeled for.
<DeathStar> *Ren holds up the notes*
<DeathStar> *Heaven opens a portal to send the polar bear to a location for retrieval*
<DeathStar> <Heaven> Lets hope we don't forget it like the last time
<Jackieness> <Noire> *looks over at Kaelan*
<Seraphna> Kaelan> I’m doing a sexy Santa theme this year.

<Seraphna> **Kaelan shows her a number of red dresses with fluffy white trim cut very revealing**

<DeathStar> <Revi> I'd like to spend time with you and Kaelan if I can - I'd like to learn how to control my dark one powers more. *she taps her fox mask* It'd help me take this off for longer periods I feel

<Seraphna> Kaelan> We just need to find your vice.

<Seraphna> Kaelan> Dark Ones and Progenitors have them. It’s the trait that your power focuses on.

<DeathStar> *Revi muses* It feels when I try to focus on one aspect of my heritage versus the other, I simply cancel both out.
<Jackieness> <Noire> "Of course. Dark Matter counters Hyper Matter and vice versa."
<Seraphna> Kaelan> As a hybrid you likely need to embrace both for it to work.
<Seraphna> Kaelan> You might have two vices actually.
