<DeathStar> 6* Asarar is at the top floor, going over various jobs and working on learning more about the Tech-Runner that went after them, having been on the side trying to locate them despite what the group voted for her own peace of mind
<DeathStar> 6* Su and Riki talk in the lobby area of the first floor, Su gesturing and Riki looking a little upset, arguing back at Su for the first time ever, to Su's surprise. Finally Riki hangs her head and nods and Su looks relieved, motioning at her to do something as Su steps out of the club

<DeathStar> 6* Riki blinks at Ylva showing up, whining a little at running into Ylva now
<DeathStar> <Riki> Su the Great.. um..found a new place to live that is better than this place. She told me to tell Asarar we were moving out

<DeathStar> <Riki> It's a place in the middle district. She would have asked you to come, Ylva, but she knows how you feel about Asarar. She said we can come down here anytime I wanted
<Myaomi> <Ylva> That is wonderful.
<DeathStar> <Riki> She apparantly managed to get a lot of coin and bought into a fancy place that a lot of fauna live in Quad 2
<Myaomi> 6Ylva lets out a breath, then moves back toward the elevator.
<Sara> * Chelsea stays quiet, not really having any place in this. She moves for the elevator.
<DeathStar> 6* Riki looks sad at Ylva and hugs her
<DeathStar> <Riki> Ylva will come visit right?
<Tabetha> Luci> "Riki... this all seems... wrong..."

<DeathStar> 6* Riki fidgets. "She said you guys might disagree, but she looked into it and said it was better than working now that she got us a place there and I didn't have to work. You can check it out if you were suspicious. I got to get my things."

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar, having found the Tech-Runner who was bothering them, eyes his profile and frowns at what she is finding, and the last known location for them, plus the bounty on his head

<Myaomi> 6Ylva stiffens when Riki hugs her and keeps her from leaving
<kalonZombe> <Max> Do you know that Su is getting Riki to move out with her?
<DeathStar> 6* Riki moves into her and Su's room, having let Ylva go, head down, hair covering her face as she empties her stuff and puts up all the keys to all the rooms in a box for Asarar
<Tabetha> * Luci follows Riki to her room and waits, frowning.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Huh? No. 6* She eyes her terminal, the message just having come up from Su with her quit notice, and Riki's
<Tabetha> Luci> <She says they got a place in the middle district, somehow Su came into a lot of money and apparently Riki won't have to work. This is terribly suspicious.>

<Sara> * Chelsea comes up behind Max, eyeing what Asarar is doing
<DeathStar> 6* Riki packs up cute stuffed animals and minimal clothing, not having a lot, and puts it all in a suitcase
<Jackieness> <Kira> *walks into the computer center* "...what's up?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I know Su has been going out a lot at night. I think she has been gambling what coin they had though I couldn't prove it
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Maybe she hit it big
<Tabetha> Luci> "Riki... will you at least wait to leave until we've checked it out?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> The fact is Su and Riki are employees, I can't force them to stay. Su is smart. She took care of Riki for years on the street\
<DeathStar> 6* Riki shakes her head. "Su is waiting."
<DeathStar> 6* Riki moves to go, handing Luci the box to give to Asarar and moves downstairs
<Tabetha> * Luci bites her lower lip. "Where...? Can we talk to her?" *she blinks at the box in her hands*
<Myaomi> 6Ylva returns to her room and locks it.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Su and Riki are moving out? Go them." *moves to take a seat*
<DeathStar> 6* Riki has the address on the box. Su apparantly not hiding it
<DeathStar> <Asarar> They listed the address in the message to me
<kalonZombe> <Max> I think it sounds awfully suspicious.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Apparantly for Ylva to visit. And Su says here they will come to see Ylva often
<kalonZombe> <Max> That sort of thing doesn't happen on this planet.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Su had saved up a ot of coin doing two jobs, and Riki did two jobs
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Plus Riki went on a few missions with us
<DeathStar> <Asarar> If Su gambled all that, it may be possible
<Tabetha> * Luci sighs and looks down, frowning as she turns to bring the box to Asarar.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "So check on them every once in a while. Why does it have to be suspicious that they aren't living here anymore?"

<Sara> <Chelsea> I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but I do think you should calm down a bit.

<Tabetha> * Luci steps in with the box and sets it down next to Asarar, looking upset.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar turns and looks at the screen. "Anyway, the Tech-Runner that was harrassing us is an Enlightenmenter
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Big surprise there.... what with the crazy talk and all."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> His code name was Bringer, and he has a huge bounty on his head, 5,000 coins.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Quite a few corporations want him
<Sara> <Chelsea> En-light-en-ment-er... is that a real word? They must be stupid.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Plus it sounds like he has stolen quite a lot over the years from them, and might have it stockpiled
<Tabetha> Luci> "Weird that he'd provoke runners..." *she sighs and plops in a seat*
<Jackieness> <Kira> "So does he have a pattern?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Technically, they go by Enlightenment. I couldn't figure out what to call a single one

<DeathStar> <Asarar> They want to watch the city burn
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Great... wannabe nihilsts."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Anyway, I think he needs to be taken out. Sooner or later, he's going to come for us again, even if we got the files
<Sara> <Chelsea> I'm with you all the way. We should nip this in the bud.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Plus, dead or alive, that bounty is worth a lot. We just need enough of him as proof. And then we can raid his compound

<Tabetha> * Luci peers down at the floor, taking a breath.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> His last known location, and the IP traces I did confirm this, is, get this, ... is a thing called Demolition Derby arena. It's run down and abandoned. It is something that came from the Homeworld and apparantly one or two were built here before it was abandoned since no one here cared about such anymore
<Sara> <Chelsea> Sounds... dangerous?
<Tabetha> Luci> "Sounds like a place one can easily build all sorts of fun traps. And we know he can do mechanisms and robotics to some extent from our last encounter."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I researched what I could, since not a lot is left over from the Homeworld. It has something to do with cars
<DeathStar> <Asarar> It's in Quad 5, the arena, and its the size of a sports field they play up top.
<Sara> <Chelsea> Then from the name, I'd imagine they're used to destroy something while they race... or even each other. *she frowns*
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Totally see computer-controlled cars trying to run us down."
<Sara> <Chelsea> Oh, great... I've had enough trouble with cars in my life already.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Hmmm... of course... what if we could kill the power?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Might be possible. We will need to get in and learn more.
<Tabetha> Luci> "Most old cars don't run on electricity, though EMP would knock out the batteries."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar rises. "Gear up people."
<DeathStar> 6* She moves to Ylva's door, knocking
<Tabetha> * Luci gets up and nods, moving to change.

<Sara> * Chelsea nods, going to her room to change into her catsuit and get her stuff together

<DeathStar> 6* Perhaps needing reassurance herself with the Su thing and how it's hurt her kitty
<Tabetha> * Luci waits for Wolfe and his troupe of girls before driving.

<DeathStar> 6* The van pulls up a run down (delipated (sp?) ) building, which is rather large, complete with an area that is huge, and has a ceiling

<Myaomi> 6Ylva twitches visibly, peering over Max and Luci, but hides her face in her arms, 'napping' as they travel
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar steps out, scanning with the van's equipment, sensing an energy field around it, minute and hard to detect, that prevents people from entering it except from the side doors of the management building, which is furthest from the arena
<DeathStar> 6* Snoozes in the back seat
<DeathStar> *Bonnie does

<Tabetha> Luci> <Leave it alone. Su might be overreacting but I'm sure we share blame to some extent.>
<Tabetha> * Luci parks in a secluded space and cuts the engine.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Any sign of power sources?"
<Chain> 6*Wolfe wakes up Bonnie
<DeathStar> <Asarar> He's definitely got tech-runenr equipment running
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I can detect Net stuff. But I can't say where and there's no way in. He's good
<Tabetha> Luci> "I'm guessing the only entrance is as far from the center as possible."
<DeathStar> 6* Bonnie sits up, rubbing her face, her pointy elf like ears drooped
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Its a funnel. Into the funhouse."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar moves to the side doors, holding her sabre

<Myaomi> 6Ylva drapes her cloak over her and pulls her hood up.
<Sara> * Chelsea gets out of the van finally and follows behind Asarar
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar tests the doors with her sabre, finding them unlocked and opens the doors
<Tabetha> * Luci follows after everyone gets out and she secures the van.
<kalonZombe> 6*Max gets out of the van, pulling out his greatsword
<Jackieness> <Kira> "...unlocked in this neighborhood? Sadistic."
<DeathStar> 6* Inside, the lights are off and it looks like a normal entrance to an office building. That hasn't been used in almost 200 years. The place looks like a wreck, with rot and disarray, and dust everywhere. A lot of it has been stolen. The hallway goes left, and right, and stairs can be seen going up to the left, and the way right bends around a corner
<DeathStar> 6* Bonnie walks along to the door, adjusting her red outfit
<Chain> 6*Wolfe follows after her
<Tabetha> * Luci peers carefully, "I have a feeling this whole place is rigged."
<kalonZombe> <Max> Should we split up?
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Did your research find any layouts for this place?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> No. But the arena is to the left. *she leans out, eyeing it*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> And splitting up would likely be bad.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I'm the only runner here
<Tabetha> Luci> "Yeah... and this guy likes his virtual space."
<Jackieness> <Kira> "And as long as this guy can still keep his runner gear active, he has the advantage."
<DeathStar> 6* She heads leftward, moving along. Remember your stats people. You got to spend the points to use them
<Sara> * Chelsea follows close

<DeathStar> 6* She begins to pass the stairs that go up as she moves along. Between this building and the arena building is what looks like another building, likely where people got their tickets and whatnot.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar as she passes the stairs trips a wire, not having been burning any perception, only having 1 point anyway, and the few lockers and desks that remain in the adminstrative building just past the stairs begin to make a whirl sound, about to explode
<DeathStar> 6* Likely a sharpnel bomb

<Sara> * Chelsea ducks and covers her head. "Traps again!"
<DeathStar> 6* To get out of the blast radius in time, one would need to spend at least 2 points of speed, being close to Asarar

<Myaomi> 6Ylva fires a shell into the ground in front of Asarar, forming a kinetic shield with the bullet.

<DeathStar> 6* Wolfe does not have to worry, being further back, nor use his body
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Guess I should not be in the lead having low perception for those kind of things

<DeathStar> 6* She eyes the smoke and hole in the ground

<DeathStar> 6* She kneels, eyeing the trip wire then the locker remains
<Tabetha> Luci> "I guess I'll keep my shield primed... yikes."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Not what I would have expected from a runner
<DeathStar> 6* She nods to Ylva
<Sara> <Chelsea> We ran into some traps last time... I think we need to move slow and keep our eyes sharp.
<kalonZombe> <Max> Guess this is Ylva's time to shine.
<Myaomi> <Ylva> ...I would rather not
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Last time, the traps were tailored to challenge us as a group. These traps will be for all comers."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar walks along. "Lets just all focus on areas."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I think this is to keep looters from getting to the arena, his base of ops."
<kalonZombe> 6*Max just sighs and burns a point of perception to keep an eye out for traps
<Sara> * Chelsea burns 2 points of perception to keep her eyes peeled as she follows Asarar.
<Tabetha> Luci> "Just hope that arena is nice and open." *she grins a little*
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Keep an eye peeled." *burs one point of perception and moves with Asarar*
<Chain> 6*Wolfe gazes about [all the better to see you with]
<DeathStar> 6* The hallway continues. Asarar moves slower, looking for trip wires and they slowly move toward the second building. There appears to be little in the way of junk until they reach a barrier of crap, chairs and desks that make a 4 foot tall barrier. The hallway itself is 12 feet in height, so one can simply hop over it, so it doesn't look like much of an obstacle.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar eyes it, then eyes beyond it. The hallway connects to the doorways, that are open, and the second building. You can see how different it looks, with what appears to be wider open space for large number of people
<kalonZombe> <Max> 100% that going over triggers a trap.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> No doubt. The triggers and bombs are likely hidden in certain parts
<Sara> <Chelsea> Don't suppose it'd be safe to just take it apart either...
<DeathStar> <Asarar> If we could clear it without touching we'd likely be safe. But how many people can clear that without touching. *She strains to see how wide it is. It seems to be 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> And if we rattle too hard...we might bump areas that are wired
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> If we crawl along it softly...
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Hmmm... what if we threw soemthing with something with sufficient mass to trigger any wires while maintaining a safe distance?"
<Myaomi> <Ylva> No problem for me..
<Tabetha> Luci> "I could easily make that jump on a shield..."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> That could work. Do you guys see where a trigger is at?
<DeathStar> 6* Those with their perceptions activate would see a chair in the center having a trip wire
<Chain> <Wolfe> the chair
<Sara> <Chelsea> I could just go along the ceiling, but I think Kira's idea is good... Mm... That chair there? *she points*
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar nods, pacing, then taps Ylva
<DeathStar> <Asarar> You're the bullet mage. Can you shoot it with a spell hard enough to blast it away"
<DeathStar> 6* She backs away - far away
<kalonZombe> 6*Max starts backing up
<DeathStar> 6* Bonnie edges back - Asarar goes 30 feet
<Chain> 6*Wolfe moves back as well
<Myaomi> <Ylva> You want me to shoot it..?
<Tabetha> * Luci backs up.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *moves away to give some clearance*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Yes. Your guns can fire at least 30 feet
<DeathStar> 6* She nmotiosn Luci to form shields
<Myaomi> <Ylva> No need to use a spell to shoot something.
<Sara> * Chelsea stands back
<DeathStar> <Asarar> True. I just don't know how much force is needed to trigger it all
<Myaomi> 6Ylva brings her revolver up and keeps both eyes open, solemnly staring at the chair, aiming for the leg that the wire is secured to, then fires at it.
<Sara> <Chelsea> As a note, there's a good chance this will give away our position, so be on guard...
<Myaomi> <Ylva> The first trap already did.
<DeathStar> 6* The chair wire is hit and a mighty explosion goes off, and theh allway shudders, a firey heat going off
<DeathStar> 6* The smoke shoots off and goes right at them, engulfing them in smoke
<DeathStar> 6* Pieces of debris flies at them
<Jackieness> <Kira> "...after this... hot spring time... by the way, duck." *ducks down*
<Tabetha> * Luci chooses not to breathe and throws up a shield in front of everyone. (Dragoon Aegis)
<Sara> <Chelsea> Scheisse... I'm glad we didn't get caught in that...
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar pushes Ylva down. Bonnie yelps, hit before tehe shield goes up and looks dizzy
<DeathStar> 6* Things hit the shield, pinging until it goes quiet
<DeathStar> 6* Two minutes pass and soon the smoke gets bearable
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar rises, helping Kira and Ylva up
<Tabetha> * Luci waits a moment later then dismisses the shield. Immediately burning a Stamina to restore the move.
<Myaomi> <Ylva> Th-That was unexpectedly massive
<Chain> 6*Wolfe helps up Bonnie
<kalonZombe> <Max> Well he probably knows we're here now, if he didn't before
<Jackieness> <Kira> "This guy doesn't play with kid gloves."
<DeathStar> <Bonnie> I see three Wolves
<Chain> 6*Wolfe hugs her as he picks her up
<DeathStar> 6* Bonnie shakes her head, clearing it
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar walks up and eyes just the middle section gone to the pile
<Tabetha> Luci> "Check her head for any serious damage."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar moves along it, avoiding the left and right
<Tabetha> * Luci follows behind her.
<DeathStar> 6* OTher than a slight scrape and some red, Bonnie looks fine
<Sara> * Chelsea moves carefully behind, her eyes darting around rapidly
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Stick to the middle." *moves right down the center*
<Chain> 6*Wolfe breathes a sigh of relief
<kalonZombe> 6*Max follows in the middle
<DeathStar> 6* In the second building, they see what looks like a ticket booth, and concession stands, with actual food still in it, all this time later. The doors behind the concession stands leading to the arena
<Tabetha> Luci> "Ah concession food, I bet somehow it's still good too."
<DeathStar> 6* The ancient candy still seems in prime condition, lasting forever ala Fallout
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Wonder if this is how the Runner survives, eating old food

The Tech-Runner is a middle aged man, with reddish hair, and wearing what looks like a cybernetic coat, tapping him into various things. He turns, a visor over his eyes, as if he expected them

<Myaomi> <Ylva> Going to take a guess that we cannot block using these cars from the next attack

<Jackieness> <Kira> *creeps along to the corner of the right end of the cars and peeks out to try to get a better view of the layout of the ground around the runner.

<Tabetha> * LUci watches the shot from cover, gathering up energy.
<DeathStar> 6* The man is hit, and steps behind the cars, grumbling
<Myaomi> <Ylva> Window to close distance for now.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar tries to judge and follows Kira - it seems the cars are his firing range limit

<DeathStar> 6* The car smashes. There is a shimmering, indicating the man is back, but there's no sight of him, likely he is ducking down

<DeathStar> 6* As Kira and Ylva reach the cars to the east, he pops up, and his red light indicates he is in firing range of them, fires a powerful blast that hits the middle car, hitting it for 6 HP, blasting it. It flames
<Myaomi> 6Ylva blinks, then turns and eyes Luciana, bringing up her gun and shoots her. Evangelist: Amp [Doubles the effect of one attack/special move]

<Tabetha> * Luci lifts up another car that was behind her and flings it straight across the ground at the man's cover, attemping to smash one car into another. Bowling for badguys.

<DeathStar> 6* As the car explodes, and knocks Ylva back, doing enough damage to take out her armor, the man turns toward Ylva and fires a strange red beam at her. A special move or 2 counter points will needed to avoid
<DeathStar> 6* There are still cars to the east, the top and bottom that can be hidden behind
<Myaomi> 6Ylva uses the other car to leapfrog away from it [2 Counter burned]
<kalonZombe> 6*Max leaps at the runner, and uses fighting dirty, trying to throw dirt in his eyes [Cripple Damage for 10 Turns+]

<Jackieness> <Kira> *now moves to try to get behind the cars to the northeast of the runner's position*

<Tabetha> * Luci moves forward, roaring loudly and distractingly, the movement actually to get better range so she can prep to fling the car without smashing friends.
<DeathStar> 6* Strangely, there seems to be no weaknesses on the Runner here. It's almost like he's not there, yet is. They are doing damage, but not.

<DeathStar> 6* At that moment, Max glows internally for his next turn he unlocks a limit break
<Tabetha> * Luci moves closer to get next to the field, rearing up, she drops her claws down on the car, which should extert momentum even when entering the field and crash the car and him down. She positions herself so she doesn't hit Max on the way down too. An attempt to stun or keep the guy off balance.

<DeathStar> 6* The man, hit by the sword, is thrown off the car, allowing him to avoid Luci's attack barely, though it sends him flying through the air comically - out of the field then he drops and hits the ground for 2 HP damage

<Myaomi> 6Ylva runs to close the distance while he's falling, aiming her remaining bullet and revolve to her own head before firing-- activating Equalize, attempting to stand at the very edge of the field with the man in it to 'weaken' him to her level but not the other two near him
<Tabetha> * Luci shifts her weight once more, shifting backwards to not get caught in the field and putting a claw down on the man, careful of Max's sword to avoid the whole dragon with a thorn in it's claws scenario. She tries to time this for after whatever magic Ylva's weaving goes off.
<Myaomi> [Clears system of status, can effect two people near her for 5 Turns+ by clearing any buffs and making them physically strong as a mage. 4 Action Points can negate effect or 4 Counter Points]
<kalonZombe> 6*Max growls and uses a Transformation point to go all beast mode, running for the man

<Sara> * Chelsea once again tries to get in close, albeit hopefully not close enough to get caught in anything...
<DeathStar> 6* The man uses 3 counter points to get away from Luci and rolls to his feet, then aims at Luci, Ylva, and Max, in a wide spread, and fires a reddish beam, trying to nail them. 2 Counter Points to avoid, not noticing Chelsea since she used her rogue thing

<Chain> 6*Wolfe burns counter points as well
<Tabetha> * Luci burns the counter points and shifts her body around as she does, her tail, still holding a car in it, swiping around at the man.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *uses Ninpo (this leads into another move and unless the person spends 3 Action Points or 3 Counter Points to stop the move, will get hit) to move in behind the runner, following up with Dim Mak Attack (2 HP/ ignores armor).
<Myaomi> 6Ylva actually throws herself at him in front of it, firing another bullet into her side, using Esoteric Aspect: Stasis [Effect lasts for 20 turns+]
<Sara> * Chelsea moves in, attempting a backstab (Backstab Lv2, double damage) with Manifest Edge: Crystal Knife (4 HP damage and embeds a crystal) on the man
<kalonZombe> 6*Max burns another 3 transformation to up his counter and speed by 2, then leaps at the man and uses his limit break if he still has it

<DeathStar> 6* And so this is how our drama plays out. Ylva leaps in front of the beam he fires, , freezingh herself, but vanishes due to the red beam. The man is backstabbed, hit by the car into Max's attack, but then Max is also damaged by the 5 HP car (his armor eats that damage up first) and they both go flying. The Runner lays there, apparantly dead

<Jackieness> <Kira> "That was the idea." *kneels down and tries removing the Runner's visor*
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar enters the Net, leaving the portal open behind her. And eyes the demo cars flying around
<kalonZombe> <Max> <Good. Rifle through his pockets and get some loose change.>
<Sara> * Chelsea withdraws, ready to detonate her crystal as soon as she can... just in case.

<DeathStar> 6* The visor is removed, his eyes made of cyborg/computer uplink eyes now, viewing ito the Net where he was controlling the computer cars, which even now aim at Ylva to run her down. Asarar grabs her up and runs back

<Tabetha> * Luci pokes him with a claw to be sure before dismissing her dragon form. "Can you shut down whatever else he's doing?"

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar walks with Ylva, if she came, and the others in a nice middle district neighborhood in the Nue Age clothing quad, up to a complex that seems a little familiar to those on a certain mission

<DeathStar> 6* Everyone looks happy and there is plenty of food - the kitchen has nice smells. The fauna sit around talking, playing music and chatting with each other. Riki runs up and tackles Ylva, hugging her all over and Su comes over, smiling too
