<DeathStar> 6* Asarar, peering up, reaches over and taps a key on the computer to bring up the offer to read it
<DeathStar> 6* She leans back in her seat, sipping something from a mug
<AquaKoala> *Some independent citizen is offering to pay them to investigate a crime spree, the cops seeminly useless at doing this. 5 killing across two weeks, 2 in the slums 2 in the middle class levels and 1 in the high level
<Chain> 6*A phigglet sits in the mug, bumping nose to lip
<AquaKoala> The reward is very high, on level with a corporate job for 6 people
<DeathStar> <Asarar> ... 6* She blinks at the phigglet, jerking back a little, then eyes the offer, frowning at it. She shakes her head, but calls the team up to see what they think.
<kalonZombie> 6*Max walks up, wearing... GASP... new clothes
<Chain> 6*it tilts its head cutely, Wolfe comes up with the other phigglets and ducklings in toe
<AquaKoala> *Otto moves in, taking off a surgical apron

<DeathStar> <Asarar> A job offer. Not our usual fare or something I'm sure we should do, but we did deal with the serial killer so I can't say the team has no precedent for it. So I guess I should open the floor for thoughts - especially considering the pay.

<AquaKoala> *From the attached notes, the crime scenes are odd, only having some of the body parts of the victims, and from the evidence it seems they were dumped where they were found, not killed there

<Jackieness> <Kira> *eyes the screen* "...so... what private citizen just tosses those types of coins around?"
<Seraphna> * Luci wanders in, yawning a bit.
<Chain> <Wolfe> often its the victim's relatives or friends
<Chain> <Wolfe> since they cant have closure

<AquaKoala> Otto> Probably one of the killed was related to someone with a very cushy job, or a very dirty one.

<DeathStar> 6* She puts the data on a crystal and hands it to Wolfe and Otto

<AquaKoala> *The info given is the locations of the crime scenes and the names and bios of the victims
<Chain> 6*Wolfe picks up his phigglets and ducklings, moving to hand them off to Riki to babysit
<AquaKoala> Otto> I'll defer to Mr. Sherrif until a need for forensic expertise arises
<Seraphna> * Luci grabs her stuff to get ready to go out.

<Chain> 6*Wolfe chuckles and rubs her hair and kisses the top of her head, doing the same for each of his Little Reds

<DeathStar> 6* Bonnie eyes Wolfe, then mimics on a duckling
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar waits out front, studying the people killed, looking for links between them despite the levels
<AquaKoala> *The first crime scene is still marked off, in a slum apartment. The victim having been a general store owner, no known relations. He was killed exactly tqo weeks ago
<DeathStar> <Asarar> The Corporate Cops likely didn't bother with the slum murders very hard
<kalonZombie> <Max> Still marked off after two weeks? They must have forgot it even existed
<Chain> 7*Wolfe sniffs the air a little, stepping over the tape and entering
<AquaKoala> Otto> Almost certainly, victims name was Mark Crawford. Ran Crawfords Consumables.
<Seraphna> Luci> Seriously. Higher up they clear a scene in hours and still have more recorded than you could probably find with it still intact.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe sniffs the air a little, stepping over the tape and entering
<kalonZombie> 6*Max follows in with him, sniffing as well
<AquaKoala> *The smell of blood is still present if not a little faded, as is the smell of chemicals, specifically formeldahyde, though others associated with crime scene investigation is present
<AquaKoala> *There is blood stains located near a marking for where the body would of been, though it just one for a leg and a head.
<DeathStar> 6* She peers up, the darkness prevailant always, drizzling "rain." She looks around for any burning barrels that homeless slummers might be around for witnesses.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "...could be body part thieves."
<AquaKoala> *There is some in the alley
<Chain> <Wolfe> if so then why the progression to upper classes?
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar gets up, walking along the potholed streets and approaches them, sticking her gloved hands to share the fire. She studies the occupants
<Chain> <Wolfe> body part thieves go for those who wont be missed
<AquaKoala> Otto> Agreed, it doesn't seem like a normal MO
<Seraphna> * Luci peers around quietly, keeping watch.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe crouches to see if he can see how deep the blood seeped into
<AquaKoala> *The homeless users of the barrled are pock scarred and tired looking, many of them showing use of drugs and less of them appearing visibly mental imbalanced
<AquaKoala> *Barely at all, but there doesn't seem to have been much of it, this having probably been a dumping ground
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Ok, let's go about the cliche serial whack job angle... someone is making their own people."
<AquaKoala> Otto> Is that the cliche?
<AquaKoala> *Otto raises an eyebrow
<Chain> <Wolfe> Otto, think you can pull up a map with markers for where these attacks happened, killers never shit where they eat, they do it a comfortable distance from where they live
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Any of you here two weeks ago? See what happened there? *She motions*
<AquaKoala> *Otto projects one onto the wall, the markets being pretty well spread out
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Usually female victims... nutcase is trying to rebuild his dead sister slash wife slash mother slash girlfriend... you get the picture. Course... some general goods guy is something else."
<Chain> <Wolfe> that might be but unless his dead lover had some 'guns' and werent the other victims a mix?
<AquaKoala> Otto> Victims are primarily male, only 1 being female
<kalonZombie> <Max> Anything else in common?
<AquaKoala> Otto> Not really, they seem to be attacks of opportunity
<Chain> 6*Wolfe rises and starts looking about for anything amiss
<Jackieness> <Kira> "So not that cliche... still... most of the bits and pieces are still missing."
<Seraphna> Luci> "Maybe whoever it is is just killing for sport."
<AquaKoala> *Wolfe and Max begin to notice another smell, much much fainter. The smell of rot and lubricant
<kalonZombie> <Max> There has to be something. Most serial killers don't kill for no reason.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Trophy colelctor?"
<kalonZombie> 6*Max blinks, moving for it
<Chain> <Wolfe> thats all killers
<Chain> 6*Wolfe moves for it as well
<AquaKoala> *It just seems to be faintly present in the apartment, where the body was laid and back to the exit
<Chain> <Wolfe> unless its a spree killer, which this isnt, they all need something to tide them over, like left overs until they can have another chance
<kalonZombie> <Max> You smell that, Wolfe?
<Chain> <Wolfe> yep
<AquaKoala> Otto> I smell it as well.
<AquaKoala> Otto> Prehaps we should go to the freshest case after this, it's the second in the middle class.
<kalonZombie> <Max> Yeah.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe glances over where the smell is coming from
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar gives up on the zoned out homeless people, moving back to her team
<AquaKoala> *It isn't coming from anywhere, it is just present still from two weeks ago, it continues outside of the apartment but is impossible to track with so many other smells
<DeathStar> 6* She searches for any terminals to hack into to check for video feeds
<Chain> <Wolfe> how far away is the store from here
<AquaKoala> *There is one, in the main office for the apartments
<AquaKoala> Otto> Four blocks down
<DeathStar> <Asarar> When you all are done let me know and we can move on. *She calls out, moving to the terminal to check out the feed*
<AquaKoala> *The feed only shows two angles in the lobby, but the archives do run back for a month
<Chain> <Wolfe> I'm gonna head to the store, see if I can find out anything
<AquaKoala> *Otto nods "Take Max with you and stay in touch
<kalonZombie> 6*Max nods, heading out with Wolfe
<Seraphna> * Luci crosses her arms and sighs, moving to stand by Asarar.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "You guys got the noses."
<Chain> 6*Wolfe moves over to the grocer
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar quickly runs through the archives, going backwards, bouncing back through the angles quickly, checking out things
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Doubt there's anything, but better safe than sorry
<AquaKoala> *Going back to the day the body was found shows... nothing really, there is some suspicious individuals but they are not carrying any garbage bags filled with body bits
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar saves the info to memory, and goes back further to see if anyone was there before
<AquaKoala> *She does see something, a hobbling man coming in with what looks like a large trunk
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar zooms in and eyes the trunk and man, saving it to her data-reader
<Chain> 6*Wolfe peers into the shop when they get there and looks about for whoever is working it now
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Odd
<AquaKoala> *It's just closed currently, a for sell sign in the front window
<AquaKoala> *Mark having not had any real relatives
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Alright. 6* She moves to go, comming Wolfe. "If there are terminals there you want me to hack, let me know. Otherwise, I'll be at the van."
<Chain> 6*Wolfe tests the knob, sighing
<AquaKoala> *Otto moves with Asarar

<AquaKoala> *Open, and the smell hits Wolfe and Max, rot and motor oil again, as well as blood and chemicals

<Jackieness> <Kira> "Yeesh... even I can smell that."
<Chain> 6*Wolfe grasps his nose and mildly wretches
<DeathStar> 6* She moves to go back to the van with her data, and trying to get a better image of his face, so she can run a scan of it in the Corporate Cops database, see if he was ever arrested and his data-reader ID on file
<kalonZombie> <Max> Holy shit, if it's that bad for me, what's it like for you?
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar drives to the store, without looking up
<DeathStar> 6* Likely crashing into things unless her hands are guided
<Chain> <Wolfe> ok, ok.....I think we know where
<AquaKoala> *The face is obscured from both angles, he seems to be aware of the cameras
<Seraphna> * Luci guides Asarar.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe swallows some air and takes a few steps in
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Alright, I'll watch you. *She runs his trunk for make and design for now, see if it's custom made*
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar parks at the store. She refuses to go in unless Wolfe finds a terminal for her
<AquaKoala> *The walls are caked in blood, crime scene markers all over
<Chain> <Wolfe> heh....of course no one has leaped on it...havent bothered to clean it
<AquaKoala> *The trunk is a cheap on, at any numbers of stores, and likely stolen from Mark's own store
<AquaKoala> *Otto moves inside and looks around quietly
<Chain> <Wolfe> one thing is certain, he knew where he lived, if the smell is here and at the victim's place
<kalonZombie> <Max> Yeah.
<AquaKoala> *Otto nods, kneeling and examining things "There is blood on the markers."
<AquaKoala> *Otto holds up one of the crime scene markers, it's splattered with blood
<kalonZombie> <Max> And... that's not normal. ... Right?
<AquaKoala> Otto> Unless cops throw blood around after the crime has been commited.
<Chain> <Wolfe> it means he came back here to do the deed
<Jackieness> <Kira> *looks around, a cloth tied around her face* "Think the perp came back afterward too?"
<AquaKoala> Otto> Or has been using it for the other victims
<Chain> <Wolfe> think about it, it has a lot of luxeries, cleaning products, food and instraments
<AquaKoala> Otto> Not to mention there isn't much foot traffic.
<Chain> <Wolfe> and with junkies for neighbours, its cush
<kalonZombie> <Max> Probably some way to dissolve bodies if need be.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "If dissolving them, then why dumping some parts?"
<Chain> 6*Wolfe looks over how much food if any is left
<AquaKoala> *Otto hops the counter "Terminal is broken as well, and the hard drive is missing"
<Chain> <Wolfe> check and see if theres credits left
<AquaKoala> *The food and other goods are untouched, even the register still has money in it
<kalonZombie> <Max> Someone knows what he's doing.
<Chain> <Wolfe> well lets cover some bases again
<Chain> <Wolfe> this has to be a man, a woman, even a strong one wouldnt go unnoticed or bothered in these areas
<AquaKoala> *Otto is going over the whole store silently "And they seem to be either a pro or watch a lot of cop shows."
<kalonZombie> <Max> Unless she was pretending to be a man... or... wearing his skin. 6*He looks at Otto
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar muses, going through the bios and locations, listening in on the comm
<Chain> <Wolfe> and judging by the place, he's in this for the pleasure of it, so much so he's willing to make an old crime scene his deathroom
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Just one point
<Seraphna> * Luci listens too, sitting back and eating a sandwich.

<DeathStar> <Asarar> Getting people from top side and middle side down here isn't easy. They'd have to be somewhat "Awake" I'd think
<DeathStar> <Asarar> The checkpoint scanners would detect something too off

<Chain> <Wolfe> often theyre smooth talkers
<AquaKoala> Otto> Agreed, but this could just be from the two slum victims.
<Chain> <Wolfe> make people feel relaxed and safe
<DeathStar> <Asarar> So there's another nest up there you think
<Chain> <Wolfe> and Otto is correct he could have a place like this on each level or just was too good to pass up
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Could have another 'workshop' elsewhere."
<Chain> <Wolfe> we should get a move on
<AquaKoala> Otto> It's what I would do, and I don't think this is his lair either.
<AquaKoala> Otto> It it was he's very tidy and made left traces
<AquaKoala> *Otto heads back to the van, taking his shoes off before he gets in

<Jackieness> <Kira> *climbs into the van* "So anything the victims had in common?"
<AquaKoala> Otto> Easy prey.

<AquaKoala> Otto> Three of the five where business owners, places where they were alone a good amount of the time.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I glanced at each bio. Nothing in common.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe enters in after Otto, also removing his shoes, and replacing them
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I'd say stores, but *Shrug*
<AquaKoala> Otto> That's this one and the two in the middles class
<Jackieness> <Kira> "So our perp just happens to stulmble on them at random... and then meticulously execute the killings? Hard to buy that."
<AquaKoala> Otto> The other slum victim, the only woman was a prostitue.
<Seraphna> Luci> "Could the thing in common they have is that they have nothing in common? The killer choosing people completely different from last kills to make the trail harder?"

<AquaKoala> Otto> And the one in the high class was a corporate exec, he worked from home and lived alone. Easy wnough if you can bypass security
<Chain> <Wolfe> consider this, this person is quite mobile correct? a lower class having access to upper levels is damn near impossible
<AquaKoala> Otto> These are planned heavily, the killer knew when to make his move, when the easiest time was that is.
<Chain> <Wolfe> so unless they are bored and wealthy, what job might give someone such freedom
<AquaKoala> Otto> But someone in the upper class have access isn't.
<AquaKoala> Otto> Corporate execs, cops, cleaning services even.
<AquaKoala> Otto> This could be a rogue maid or janitor
<Seraphna> Luci> "It's easier for someone in the upper class to come down here than the other way around."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> *she frowns, not sure she sees that*
<Chain> <Wolfe> My money, is on either the cops or a service worker
<DeathStar> <Asarar> The Corporations usually are pretty sealed up. Their staff are screened tightly and vetted thoroughly
<Chain> <Wolfe> it has to be someone that either blends in well or intimidates wenough for silence
<Seraphna> Luci> "So human?"
<Chain> <Wolfe> one other thing
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Unless the guy could get the Data-reader ID out of the person on their staff and use it
<AquaKoala> Otto> Blending would be my guess, intimidating a drugged up corporate security guard is not recommended.
<Chain> 6*Wolfe reclines a bit, closing his eyes
<Chain> <Wolfe> Crime scene usually comes back to collect their toys and markers
<Chain> <Wolfe> why didnt they this time

<DeathStar> <Asarar> Going after anyone on the Corporate level is a gamble. *she thinks as they stop at the next location Wolfe and Otto picked, be it the next slum or elevator up to the Middle Class, after passing the check point scan*
<Chain> <Wolfe> could be anywhere in the justice system
<AquaKoala> *At the site of the most recent murder, the closest Kumen can come to a suburban neighborhood, the van finally pulls up.
<AquaKoala> *The house in question is dark, the front door still sealed with red tape
<Chain> 6*Wolfe climbs out
<Jackieness> <Kira> "On a lark... cna you fin d out if any of the investigators was actally on all of the cases?"

<DeathStar> <Asarar> Doubt it's Pisco.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I imagine there's multiple ones for each level if they haven't been connected
<DeathStar> 6* She brings it up, looking at it by a level by level basis
<AquaKoala> Otto> Could be a detective, they do move around a lot
<AquaKoala> *Otto climbs out and follows Wolfe

<Chain> 6*Wolfe looks about the outside
<Seraphna> * Luci hops out and peers around.
<AquaKoala> Otto> This one is only two days old, thankfully we seemed to have missed forensics
<AquaKoala> *There is no sign of forced entrace, and nothing seems amiss
<Chain> 6*Wolfe slides on new gloves and tests the doorknob
<AquaKoala> Otto> Victims names was Theodore Ling, owned a clothes shop in another sector.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar grabs the data and steps out, studying the place and looking around. "What did the first guy's shop do?"
<AquaKoala> *The door is locked, but Wolfe could force it if he wants, or have someone pick it
<Chain> <Wolfe> Grocer and someone pick it
<AquaKoala> Otto> General store
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Just general goods."
<AquaKoala> *Otto stands atound and looks official
<Chain> 6*Wolfe waits for someone to pick the lock
<AquaKoala> *Wolfe and Max can already smell the scent, but it is no where near the level of the store.
<AquaKoala> *Otto starts to pick it
<kalonZombie> <Max> Already can smell the lube and rot.
<Chain> <Wolfe> me too
<Chain> <Wolfe> but why lube....
<AquaKoala> *This being similar to the one in the apartment, where is seems to be just a trace, below human senses
<Chain> 6*Wolfe lets the question hang

<DeathStar> 6* She muses, peering around, reaching out invisiblely to pet ears. She frowns and rubs Kira instead

<DeathStar> 6* She apparantly seems queasy with the smell, but not like must people around it. It seems it's stirring something in her eyes
<AquaKoala> *Otto swings the door in

<Jackieness> <Kira> *just glances over at Asarar*
<Seraphna> * Luci rubs heer head and follows Wolfe.

<AquaKoala> *The house is immaculate, aside from the living room, small blood stains present on the rug and markers once again
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar peers at Kira, looking a little wild then smiles, the look gone and shrugs. "Think I'll stay here."
<DeathStar> 6* She peers around, studying the outside and moving from the smell
<Chain> 6*Wolfe looks over the shape of the blood drops
<Jackieness> <Kira> "My nose can't take much more..."
<AquaKoala> *It seems like the body parts were placed there, a torso and two arms this time
<AquaKoala> *Just markings showing, not the actual parts
<Chain> <Wolfe>...wait
<Chain> <Wolfe> what were the body parts found at each place again
<AquaKoala> Otto> Mixed bag, A leg and a head, two legs, an arm, a head and a torso, and a torso and two arms
<AquaKoala> *Wolfe can very very faintly smell smoke, like that of an electronics fire
<Chain> 6*Wolfe moves for it
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar circles the area, looking around for traces of things, using her perception
<Seraphna> Luci> "So maybe he's making a modern art piece?"
<AquaKoala> *The smell becomes stronger and stronger as he moves through the house, until he arrives at the basement
<kalonZombie> 6*Max follows Wolfe
<Chain> 6*Wolfe uses [the better to see you with] to see even better down in the basement
<AquaKoala> *Otto follows them down, the basement is smokey already, all of it smell of burned silicone and metal
<kalonZombie> <Max> Yeesh
<AquaKoala> *There are even some discarded parts, some circuit boards, some wire, and half a mechanical hand

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar moves for the van after getting a bit away and settling the pounding in her head
<AquaKoala> Otto> Odd, parts for a biotech. Could be a hobbyist?
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Or killer-guy attacked a biotect by mistake."
<AquaKoala> *Wolfe and Max would start to hear odd clicking noises
<kalonZombie> <Max> What's that sound? 6*He looks around for it
<AquaKoala> *It's coming from above, in the smoke
<AquaKoala> *It's moving slowly
<kalonZombie> 6*Max reaches up for it
<DeathStar> <Asarar> <Did you say a Biotect?> *she hurries there, curious suddenly*
<Seraphna> * Luci heads along after her.
<AquaKoala> *As Max's hand moves into the smoke he would feel searing pain as it is stabbed
<kalonZombie> 6*Max winces but doesn't cry out
<AquaKoala> *The clicking moves rapidly across the room, heading for the basement window
<kalonZombie> <Max> Basement.
<DeathStar> 6* She reaches the smell and winces at it, trying to control her breathing, looking strange again. She stands there, trying to control herself
<AquaKoala> Otto> Basement now! *Otto readies his pistol
<kalonZombie> 6*Max pulls out his hammer and moves for the basement
<Seraphna> * Luci growls and rushes over.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *heads down into the basement*
<AquaKoala> *Otto opens fire as the window is smashed, a figure dropping from the smoke, more smoke coming off it, as well as sparks
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar heads down to join the others
<AquaKoala> *The figure rises slowly, a loose amalgamation of rotting and new skin, as well as a metal skeleton, two glowing eyes showing through the empty eye holes
<kalonZombie> 6*Max leaps at it, swinging his Maul

<DeathStar> 6* She steps forward, removing the glove, showing her ruined hand. IT has scars all over it like someone cut on her hand over and over, doing surgery and implanting stuff, then removing it and adding something else. There are bits of metal and mods still slightly visible

<AquaKoala> *The biotect blinks "Finish me?" *It brightens considerably
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar nods, touching the Biotect's head and powering it done, but not killing it, putting it to sleep mode. "I promise." 6* She tells the Biotect as she does so
<AquaKoala> *The loose tatters of skin hang, and it raises it's injured hand

<AquaKoala> *It then slowly lowers, smiling
<AquaKoala> Otto>.... Well that was odd.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar steps back, lowering the hand and head, then puts her glove on, then sits down. "Take it back to our place discreetly. We can file that we killed the murderer. Apparantly it killed the people for their flesh is all I Can figure."

<DeathStar> <Asarar> Anyway, Kira, a Biotect... I can't remember beginning with what number. Have real organs and stuff built with them. That is why they are hard to tell them apart. And began to get human right actions

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar has been in her own little area with it, working on it as promised, apparantly planning to bring it back to life. She takes notes, speaking to them as she works
<AquaKoala> *It was made primarily from parts of Mark 4, 5, and 7. But somehow the head unit is that of a 6, and one of the prototypes at that
<AquaKoala> *Most of the parts are rusted and worn looking but it looks like the biotect was assembled with great skill and care
<AquaKoala> *The rust having been painstakingly reduced and every surface polished deeply
<AquaKoala> *She would of also found human organs stuffed into it's chest wherever they could fit, bits of skin stuck into joints too, it having none of the synthetic skin on it
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar works out the urge to use real flesh from the code, since the older Marks had that still, and hope it takes, working since the thing doesn't have a brain to let the Mark parts that run on computer be thinking and learning like a person, figuring that will have to do since she can't raise a human being
<DeathStar> 6* She works to order synthetic skin and preserves the human organs for now
<AquaKoala> *It seems to take, most of that being due to corruption in the code as well as the insanity that VI's were prone to

<DeathStar> 6* She moves for her office, looking out of it for now, pulling off her rubber gloves and putting on her normal gloves
