<DeathStar> 6* The group, now with two new additions, has been at the Spire for quite some time, and has managed to expand it and block the tentacle monsters that tried to take one of their own from entering the Spire at least with a barrier that only the team can pass through. So far the team still has orders to do what they feel is best up in the region, though Lu now has a way, the communication orb, to deliver new orders

<Seraphna> * Alita gently drapes a robe over Talia. "Here, let's try this one."
<DeathStar> 6* Talia looks down at the robe on her smallish figurue, then moves around with it open
* Mykel is in the old dormitory area working out, current doing his tenth set of 25 elevated push-ups.
<Seraphna> * Alita gently stops her and fixes it closed. She's resized it to fit the girl.
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen pushes himself up, rubbing his tired face and eyeing the books and his notes. "I think I've hit my limits for now."
<DeathStar> 6* He goes to put the books on a private table so no one can hurt them, since all the books in the library are fragile. "I need to get the mages in our group to take a look."

<DeathStar> 6* Kito and Neekito bow, then step out of the third floor private rooms
<DeathStar> 6* They move past the third floor's astrology like room with all the stars that can be moved around and down to the second floor with the transplacer and communication orb, then down to the first floor with the old dormitory/baths that Mykel transformed into a training room, and has the kitchen/dining hall, and library, and stairs down to the basement with ancient devices
* Mykel finishes the set and lowers his feet from the ledge before moving to a full sitting position, his breathing deep and regular.
<DeathStar> 6* The two Kitos hold up bells and begin to ring them obnoxiously
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *heads downstairs to said dining hall*
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen turns to Ceilia, opening his mouth to talk to her, then pauses at the bells
<Seraphna> * Alita shakes her head and takes Talia's hand. "I think Sasha wants us for something."
<DeathStar> <Kito> Everyone gather at the dining hall on orders of Her Majesty Commander
<DeathStar> 6* Talia blinks and follows Alita
<Sara> * Liana looks up, already having been in the dining hall, perhaps unsurprisingly
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen moves to go, passing the two fauna, Kito being a fox fauna and Neekito a cat fauna
* Mykel raises to stand up, moving over to pick up his weapon harness and jacket before going to find out what the Kito's are doing.

* Nezikim steps into the dining hall having come from the dormitory, his armor painted matte black now. He busies himself with polishing his blade
<AquaKoala> *Commodus looks up at the people coming in, mid-bite
<Seraphna> * Alita joins the others, taking a seat and putting Talia in her lap.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *takes a seat at the head of the table*
<DeathStar> 6* The two fauna sit, Neekito playing with her pink hair and Kito relaxing, her red hair in a ponytail. Neekito likely having left over beet soup today due to low supplies
* Mykel moves in after Ceilia and Alita, working the straps of the harness over his shoulder as he walks; he'll move over to one side and and lean against the wall.
<Sara> * Liana blinks and moves from wherever she was sitting to sit at the table with the others
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen sits down quietly, likely new to Nezikim since Qui was around when he was active last time. He peers at Mykel and Nez, taking them in
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "On to the important matter at hand... our food supplies are running low. Neekito is doing the best that she is able, but variations on beet dishes will only stretch so far."
<AquaKoala> Commodus> I've been hunting.
<Seraphna> Alita> "She brought in a huge corpse of a monster yesterday that we cut up and cooled."
* Mykel looks at commodus, thinking that he's been passed out for the past couple days.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Yes, but behemoth is only one item. We still need more."
<Sara> <Liana> In fairness, it's a lot of meat on its own.
<Seraphna> Alita> Grilled tentacle?
<DeathStar> 6* The two Kitos look ill

<Sara> <Liana> I was always taught that real adventurers eat meat. *she says simply* But variety is nice too.
<Seraphna> Alita> "Oh right.. you all eat plants and stuff."
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Well, there isn't a ton of foliage, maybe some mushrooms.
* Mykel will look over at Neekito for a moment before moving over to check on her.
<DeathStar> 6* Neekito seems to be mumbling about killing herself before putting a tentacle in her body, or touching one to cook
<Seraphna> Alita> "Perhaps also... herbs? Some must grow in this dark."
<AquaKoala> Commodus> But I am not a fungiculturist.
<DeathStar> 6* It seems little shake the two stoic fauna except those monsters

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Think on it in the meantime. Let's move on to other matters... status reports."
* Mykel smirks a bit and offer her a hand up before returning to his place against the wall.
<DeathStar> 6* He admits with distaste. "The land in the sphere seems to be not as cold like outside the city."
<DeathStar> <Gwen> If we can find someone to send us grain, I can grow stuff."
<Seraphna> Alita> "We could ask the summoners? We also still have to see the monks..."
<Sara> * Liana raises her hand, seemingly with something to report. She's frowning a bit, though.
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen twirls paper in his hand. "I mean, we can't just be in contact with the Hapians. There was tons of channels."
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *nods* "Kito, make a note of the suggestions." *glances over at Liana* "Yes, Liana?"

<DeathStar> 6* Neekito sits with his help, queazy
<Sara> <Liana> Well, speaking of the Hapians... We got a message: I've been invited to a Royal Ball... *she looks at Sasha*

<Sara> <Liana> By Celes, supposedly. Though it wasn't her delivering the message, and I'm a it skeptical it really was her.

* Nezikim being unfamiliar with the situation stands in the back against a wall. He finishes polishing his sword and places it into the harness at his back.
<Sara> <Liana> Would you suggest I ignore it? That said, if there were more than one of us there, maybe, then they'd basically be starting a war if they messed with us, right?
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "We'll talk about it later, Liana." *looks over to Gwen* "What has your research turned up?"
<Sara> * Liana nods, feeling a bit guilty for bringing it up now, though it was the first chance she got and it had been bothering her. She looks at Gwen.
<AquaKoala> *Commodus listens quietly, eatting his caribou
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I was the one who told her to take another Academy member, since she couldn't be willing to start a war with taking two of us out, especially with an academy building so close by. Huh? Me? Body spells I think I know how to do that, assuming this is where Qui and me were hit with us being forced to share a body. It would require Qui leading it with Alite and Ceilia and a combination of words. However, if I'm wrong, it could do damage. If it's a soul spell and we're two separate bodies shoved together, and it's more soul based teethering us, well...on that book..
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I got the book translated, but the words are magic. I can't understand them. I need a mage to read them. Qui, Ceilia, Alita, someone. To make sense

* Mykel nods at Gwen in silent greeting, his eyes scanning over everybody throughout the conversation but seeming to spend more time on Commodus.

<DeathStar> 6* Talia gropes Liana, still fascinated by her, then smiles
<Seraphna> Alita> "We also made some sets of samples to make more power orbs. Five so far, been careful not to take too much from myself or Talia. We'll need more virgin hair."

<Sara> <Liana> Eek!? *her eyes go wide and she looks at Liana in surprise*

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Also we'll need to repair the circuit upstairs before we add a pwoer orb to it and continue the spire restoration."

<Seraphna> Alita> "Oh yes, Gwen, this is Nezikim... he's the strong silent type."
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen cuts some of his hair and hands it to Alita

<Seraphna> Alita> "Aren't you, Nezikim?"

* Nezikim nods to Alita, "I am"

<Sara> <Liana> Strong silent type... Those are the types who usually either turn on you in the end, or break through solid rock with just their fists to save you. *she nods, seeming serious. her grandfather's teachings no doubt*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Consequently, Ceilia... can you pick up Qui's research into the spire until Qui returns?"

* Mykel seems to think the question isn't worth answering at this time, but will continue to watch.

* Mykel holds his tongue but the thoughts rolling through his mind at this point...

<AquaKoala> *It's worth noting that Commodus is massive, built like a freak beast monster

<DeathStar> "We have gone to check out the bunkers and mark them with sticks if we can locate them in the city."

<DeathStar> 6* Gwen holds his hands together, trying to figure out what Ceilia meant
* Mykel glances at Ceilia before looking to Sasha, watching her for now.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...and they aactually pre-empted my next order. Though I was intending to go as well." *rises* "Liana, with me. We will catch up to Kito and Neekito if we can. The rest of you have your assignments."
<Sara> * Liana nods, rising to follow
<Seraphna> * Alita nods and leads Talia to the library. "Gwen, show me that book you need me to read."
<AquaKoala> *Commodus rises and looks at Mykel and Nezikim "Well come on, we have some foraging to do."

* Mykel pushes off of the wall and will move to catch up with Sasha if he can.

<AquaKoala> Commodus> There is a while off, but it's easier just to hunt around here.
<Nezikim> What supplies are we short on?
<DeathStar> 6* Outside the spire, the ruins of the city can be seen more clearly and startling. Most of the buildings have long fallen down, long ago, but some buildings remain half standing or hollowed out and standing. Roads, not paved but clearly intending to be roads can be seen all about and whatnot. Despite being on a frozen mountain, the air is cool, not cold, and the wind is tame
<Seraphna> * Alita carefully takes them and sets them out. "Alright, I'll read between making orbs."
* Mykel reaches out and trying to gently tap Sasha's shoulder before she gets too far ahead, he's carrying his jacket in his left hand.
<DeathStar> 6* No animals roam in the city, and since they have to descend the large mountain to find prey, it makes hunting hard. Neekito had to literally lift the beast up the rope
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *glances back* "I thought you would be with Commodus and Nezikim."
<DeathStar> 6* Kito and Neekito stand at one set of buildings that managed to survive alright - it looks like a mansion. The north wall is demolished and part of the east, but the two story building that seems fairly large is intact. They move about the inside, door open
<AquaKoala> Commodus> From what I heard we need greens of some kind, but meat wouldn't hurt either.
<AquaKoala> *Commodus pulls on his bear skin cloak, already wearing his armour
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen sits to be of aid
* Mykel will look at Sasha, 14"I would ask to instead go with you and Liana, personal reasons."

<Seraphna> * Alita shifts a bit away and shields her work as she makes one orb with the ingredients as she's learned to do, the motion to protect the books from the light.

<AquaKoala> *Commodus grabs his javelins
<DeathStar> 6* The rope Commodus set up to go down the mountain has been reinforced by Neekito at somepoint
<AquaKoala> *Commodus looks about "Where is the other person, Mykel I think"
<AquaKoala> *Commodus shakes his head and sighs and he grips the rope and starts to rappel down quickly

<DeathStar> 6* As Commodus goes down the rope, exiting the magic shield, the cold hits him again
* Mykel walks quickly, moving to follow after the two, thankfully the snow on the ground allows for easy tracking of the two meat-heads. He is still carrying his coat in his left hand.
<AquaKoala> *Thankfully Commodus is wearing his heavy cloak
* Nezikim wraps the rope around his forarm and lowers himself slowly by loosening his grip slightly, the heavy gauntlets protecting his hands
<AquaKoala> *Commodus whistles up loudly, spotting Mykel
* Mykel stops as he reaches the top of the rope, sliding the coat on and checking the weapon hanging on his back before starting down the rope as well, looping it around his left leg and using the friction between his feet to control his speed.
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Ave, welcome back.
<DeathStar> 6* After 20 mins, they all reach the bottom
<AquaKoala> Commodus> I went to the south last time, so we should head west to try and go over new area.
<Nezikim> very well
* Mykel will watch the other two, quiet and analyzing it seems; his eyes to scan over the area that has been indicated.
<AquaKoala> *Commodus sets along to the west
<AquaKoala> Commodus> So you two are both from the Republic then?
<Nezikim> From Rostra
<DeathStar> 6* The area is rocky and snowy, making transversing hard. Occassionally there is snow
<AquaKoala> *Commodus nods "My father has gone through it."
* Mykel simply walks behind the other two...letting them take point...also so that he can keep his eyes on them.14 "Fort Athen..."
<AquaKoala> Commodus> A northerner as well? My family is from Epirus.
<DeathStar> 6* As they move, a giant bemehoth like Neekito fought roars from behind, having circled. Sadly, DS was a bad GM who never taught the new players how to fight (and hasn't gotten to stating Nez yet, that was suppose to be this week)
<DeathStar> 6* It towers behind the group
<AquaKoala> *Commodus turns and hurls a javelin at it's eye
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Be ready fellows!
<DeathStar> 6* The behemoth is hit in the eye, taking javelin damage (since we are going to go statless this one fight - normally with ever attack you will me your attack's HP damage ratio)
<Mykel> 6As the creature roars Mykel spins around to his left, his right hand pulling out the scimitar from the back-strap. His eyes start scanning the area
<AquaKoala> *Commodus charges in after it, jumping to slash at it with full power (Crit Strike Max, +4 extra damage)
<Mykel> 6to see if there are any other creatures lurking nearby that could attack.
<DeathStar> (*pushes Commodus back since he's done his move)
<Nezikim> (sorry, puppy emergency pulled me away, back now)
<DeathStar> 6* MYkel would see the behemoth is alone. With the damage, Commodus has put the creature in infurtiation mode and it charges the group, spreading it's claws and going to full height on both legs. It seems to be speeding toward all three to ram them back and knock them off balance, and possibly on their back
<DeathStar> 6* As a note, it's vision is impaired on the left side
<AquaKoala> *Commodus braces down into ground, burying his feet and preparing to stop the behemoth with his full strength
* Nezikim pushes to the front and rauses his blade to brace for the impact
* Mykel starts moving; he feints slightly to his right before lunging in with his blade to strike at the beasts left torso, keeping his momentum going he tries to move around the creatures charge
<DeathStar> 6* With two people bracing, the behemoth is stopped hard, then roars as it's struck, bleeding. It stumbles, then swipes at Mykel and Commodus since it can still see them, a powerful left claw flying at them from their left sides
<DeathStar> 6* Commodus first, to hit him into Mykel
<AquaKoala> *Commodus attempts to grapple the claw and flip it with it's momentum, his muscles buldging (For the Glory 3, doible strength)
<DeathStar> 6* The bear begins to twist slightly
<DeathStar> *not bear, behemoth
* Mykel has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)

<DeathStar> 6* The bememoth begins to twist slightly
* Mykel dives in the direction of the creatures back but behind it in an attempt to get out of the path of the attack and or Commodus if he is struck.

* Nezikim brings his sword around swinging it into the beasts side
<DeathStar> 6* The beast, grappling, is slashed easily in the side, roaring, his side already bleeding from Nezikim earlier. It tosses Commodus back finally and retreats
<AquaKoala> *Commodus watches it go
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Everyone okay?
* Nezikim slips the large blade back into it's harness, ignores the question, and begins following the trail of blood after the beast at a methodic pace
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Leave it.
* Mykel waits to the side, holding his weapon loosely in his right hand as he thinks about the beast.14 "I'm fine."
* Nezikim stops "That would be a waste and cruel to leave it to suffer
<AquaKoala> Commodus> They heal quick. And the wound isn't lethal.
<DeathStar> 6* A single deer beast stops, peering at them, and runs away in a panic, into a tree
<AquaKoala> *Commodus hauls at the throws a javelin at a lethal area on the deer
<DeathStar> 6* The Deer Beast is stabbed, still against the tree like it broke it's neck
* Mykel hesitates for a moment after Commodus launches the javelin, a frown appearing before he starts in the direction of the deer
<AquaKoala> *Commodus removes the javelin, eyeing the deer "How are there so many of them if they are this stupid." *He shakes his head and hauls it onto his shoulders
<DeathStar> 6* A deer beast charges at Commodus, trying to ram him from behind, his antlers poised to stab
* Nezikim approaches the deer and the looks at the rocky ground around the tree "have you looked for any lichen?"
<Mykel> 14"Probably because there aren't frequent hunters to this area...it's relatively inhospitable."
<AquaKoala> *Commodus seems unaware of the deer
* Nezikim draws his blade and rushes bull rushes the deer
<AquaKoala> *Commodus blinks and shifts
<DeathStar> 6* The deer beast impales it self on Nez's blade stupidly, having been so focused on hitting Commodus.
<DeathStar> 6* It twitches
* Mykel thrusts a hand in commodus's direction [telekinesis] to push him to one side and out of the deers aim
<AquaKoala> *Commodus tries to stay upright from the push
<Mykel> ((I'm getting slow in my old age, trying to think of too many things that I could possibly do))
<AquaKoala> *Commodus doesnt looks bothered, looking around "Alright then."
<DeathStar> 6* As the day goes on, they get lichen, moss, winter fruit, and 4 more deer and arrive back at the rope.
<DeathStar> 6* Near it is the slanted rock
* Nezikim pulls his blade out of the carcas, wipes the blood and gore off on the animal's own hide and places it back in it's harness
<AquaKoala> *Commodus examines the rock before they go up
<AquaKoala> *Then tries pushing and pulling it, like before
* Mykel hangs the weapon in his own back sheath, looking to the deer carcasses; 14"two up then deer?"
<AquaKoala> Commodus> Let me try something first.
<DeathStar> 6* The rock shifts and part of the wall of rock opens
<DeathStar> 6* Revealing a tunnel

<DeathStar> 6* It seems to be simply a tunnel for walking, not like the bunkers.
<DeathStar> 6* The orbs provide light in what would have been otherwise pure darkness. After 30 mins of wlaking upwards, they appear right outside the Spire from a hut
* Mykel will gather up one of the deer carcasses and follow the other two...something about this not feeling right so he's keeping his weapon handy.
<AquaKoala> *Commodus leaves the hut "I thought so, we found one inside the spire. Once we get everything in the stores I will go down and close it again."

<DeathStar> 6* The stairs Liana would see go far down and wind. It looks to be a lot like the Spire
<Sara> <Liana> Looks a lot like the Spire did... can't see far enough to tell what's really down there.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "The structure of the place seems consistent..."
<Sara> <Liana> What should we do, Commander?
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *moves a hand to her blade* "We take a quick look.. and retreat if there is trouble." *starts down*
<Sara> * Liana nods, a hand on her own sword, as she follows after Sasha, burning perception in case there's anything wrong with the stairs
<DeathStar> 6* These stairs are in better shape. The Kitos follow 15 steps back, trembling. They reach the bottom area where magic orbs are in the wall, once likely working, but there are dead wood to burn for light. All around is mroe relics, one familiar bed, but these place has different magic devices, with tubes and beakers, and devices all over, and even wands strangely.
<Sara> <Liana> Feels like we should have brought one of the twins... 'cept I know how they can be... *she peers around slowly*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...because I am totally not a trained sorceress." *spoken with sarcasm*
<Sara> <Liana> Sorry, Commander. They just seem to have a certain knack for the ancient lately -- that's all I meant. I meant no offense...
<DeathStar> 6* Suddenly, sliming things wrap around them from the side in the darkness. Trying to get through their clothing as it wanders over them
<DeathStar> 6* More wraps around their legs. The two Kitos squeak from above and their light drops as they are flung upside down
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Fallback!" *slashes with her sword*
<DeathStar> 6* The tentacles squeal as she cuts them. Kito punches with her spiked knuckles and Neekito slashes, panicking. The tentacles on them retreat to a single spot in the right wall

<Sara> * Liana turns to the crack, grimacing
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Back uptairs, now." *backs toward the stairs*

<Sara> <Liana> It always seems like the real 'treasures' and 'secrets' are hidden behind them. I'm sort of surprised no one seems to have figured it out before us.

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "But why hidden in this small house? The spire and the mansion are obvious...so why here?"

<DeathStar> 6* Kito pushes it, the rock damaged from time and neglect. The entire house floor opens ,dropping Sasha and Liana down the stairs. Kito blinks as Neekito goes too

<DeathStar> 6* As Sasha moves around, devices activate. It seems they recognize her talent. Likely she coulc create Sabo Mage weapons, or other things if she understood it

<DeathStar> 6* The familiar pauses, her sword inches from Neekito. She looks at Sasha, peering at her eyes. There's a flicker there, more so than the flame. She steps back.

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "I am Sasha Hapian, and I rule here now. Do you comprehend this?"
<Sara> * Liana keeps her battle stance, only briefly glancing at Neekito, staying in front of her after she rolls behind her.

<DeathStar> 6* She lets her magic fade and tiredly goes back to her spot

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "He is likely gone then. The house above is ruined and neglected."
<DeathStar> 6* She sits cross legged, her clothing strange, likely fitting the time. She wears an armor dress that seems to be made of magic
<Sara> * Liana absorbs this. "Hey, can you tell us anything else about what happened here?"
<DeathStar> <Familiar> I thought as much after 2000 years
<DeathStar> <Familiar> *Shrugs, having a bit of an attitude* I could.
<Sara> * Liana frowns, glancing at Sasha for a moment
<DeathStar> 6* Neekito studies her, thinking the familiar is looking a bit ghostish
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Do your orders allow you to leave this chamber?"
<DeathStar> <Familiar> No. Until I acquire a new master, which I have no interest. I only am alive this long from living off the life force of the beasts in the tunnels. I used to travel through them keeping them clear but now I have settled to just my primary area of orders - not out of boredom but due to my limitations. Familiars living this long are rare.
<DeathStar> 6* She holds up her hand, which is fading. "Attacking you depleted me of more mana."
<Sara> <Liana> Is there... anything we can do? *she has put away her sword now, her expression a bit sad*
<DeathStar> <Familiar> No. 6* It's hard to tell her honesty. She's definitely developed a personality being masterless.
<DeathStar> <Familiar> If you want to know more about the magi, I will tell you after I stablize myself
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *nods* "We have taken residence in the spire."
<DeathStar> <Familiar> I will be here. Give me a day to absorb mana from some of the equipment leakage
<Sara> <Liana> Please be well.
<DeathStar> 6* She studies them oddly
<DeathStar> 6* Perhaps wondering about them compared to the old Magi
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Then we shall return." *turns toward the stairs*

After which she takes a hankerchief and gently dabs at a small corner of where the writing should be, using her fire magic she heats the blade and gently puts it over the dab to heat

<Seraphna> * Alita takes in the knowledge, seeing what's useful to know and what seems to just be attitude, even going so far as to looking for reasons behind some of the more "they're tools" commentary. Taking interest in the machines and clothes imprinting too.

<DeathStar> 6* It seems to be due to the fact that familiars have no souls according to the commentary, and are made of poure magic. Familiars die when they use up all their resources and fade away. They take in things and can even take in spirit fossils if subjected to certain machines
<DeathStar> 6* Ceilia sees terrible weapons - daggers, swords, wands, orbs, until she comes to it in the D sections, a dagger with a curvy blade. It is listed as being forged from Dragon bones, a Black Dragon to be specific
<Seraphna> * Alita frowns, taking special note of the process to give a Familiar mana, so she can feed up Talia.
<DeathStar> 6* And tainted in virgin blood. Now when virgin blood is spilt in it, the powers activate. The whereabouts are unknown. A powerful Magi created it a thousand years ago before the book was made
