<DeathStar> The Academy - 1.4.5991
<DeathStar> With the New Year over, the Academy is seeing a few changes; Miyuki has handed the reigns of leadership to Shion in order to lessen the stresses put upon her during pregnancy, Shion has designed and ordered new uniforms for all of the Academy and the younger sibling of Empress Neophyx, Karen, has been enrolled.
<DeathStar> The unit members are slowly getting used to the new uniforms, though not all are completely pleased and decide to make their own minor modifications, when Shion arrives bearing news. The unit will be receiving a new assignment shortly while Shion heads out to investigate a Cave which may hold the means to resurrecting Shade. Karen is hanging around with the Unit and is even asked why she’s present, responding “You are suppose to be the best. Naturally I will join the best.” Shion announces as well that the Units will be transitioning towards a point-based system of some sorts for annual awards.
<DeathStar> The camaraderie is broken however when a Hapian Holy Knight arrives along with several fellows, demanding that Celes be turned over to them for escort back to her mother the Empress and the birth of her child. Shion, as the acting Headmistress, flatly refuses the Knight’s request; instead informing the Knight that the Academy is sovereign territory and Celes has been granted sanctuary there. Before leaving the Knight issues a final warning that "if you do not turn over what belongs to us, we will justly come back in full force."
<DeathStar> Preparations are immediately started to re-power the Academy’s shield using Centerpoint fragments, while the members of Unit 6 are called up to speak with Shion; here they’re informed of the issue and told to escort Celes to the Magi Tower and once there to power up its’ defenses as well. The plan is to guard Celes for the coming month until she gives birth; and once she has she can decide further what she wants to do. In private, it is suggested to be ready to destroy the transportation device should there be any unexpected visitors attempting to come through.
<DeathStar> As the unit prepares, Miyuki decides that she will be going along with them, so as to give birth to her litter along with Isis who will go with to oversee. With Karen in tow, the unit makes their way to the transportation facility while the Holy Knights prepare to assault the Academy, two Units being dispatched to head them off and ensure Unit 6 along with Celes, Miyuki and Isis have time to get out. Kasha decides to stay at the Academy however, to ensure that Shion has enough ‘uumph’ to deal with the Hapians.
<DeathStar> Upon their arrival, the Unit immediately sets to the task of settling back into occupancy of the Tower that they had brought back to life; Commodus taking the first of many round-the-clock shifts watching over the Transportation pad and Communications device while others begin unpacking and settling in the soon to be mothers.

<DeathStar> 6* Riki then walks behind the bar to change into her waitress outfit, ducking down to strip and change right there.
<AquaKoala> *Otto continues looking through job, keeping an eye open for certain boopers

<DeathStar> 6* Inside is a beautiful dress made from one of the more famous dress makers in the Nue Age departments, and underneath is a fake ID to get alcohol, since Luci looks 16.

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar walks down the stairs, strangely dressed in fancier clothing, gloveless, her eyes not glowing. She flips through a report, her hair done up for once, clicking her tongue as she sits in one of the nicer booths

Especially the gloves. *She clicks her tongue thoughtfully* So I've been eyeing the reports on jobs trying to think of something to do. We have offers from this Sen person, offers from Taiga, and as 'Tech Runners', we have plenty we can do, what with all the Corporations in a state of flux.

<DeathStar> 6* She plays with her napkin, making a cat shape, then takes another, making a dog shape, thinking. Surprisingly her hands looked unscarred. "I think we need to do something on our own first. We need to be in-de-pend-ent, as my parents used to say. *she flips open the notebook again* We're enemies with 3 Corporations, and they are not making moves against CoreSector in fear. We brought down their police agency. Yet it seems all 3 are still working on making ships of large size, and are wanting to make moves against Geyze due to them cutting off ore, plus Geyze getting a bit aggressive towards us - an attack on the Aquarius, and other things I cannot get access to. The Corporations are chaffing.

Anyway, *she lies out three files* I think we should move through the Net and get closer to one of their refineries where they have Geyze ore and take some of it. It's worth a lot, and while it may be hard to sell, we can use it to hurt their supply lines

<Sara> * Chelsea feels as if her hair is standing on end for some reason and glances around

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar takes them to the third floor and opens a side window to the fire escape, the weak point in the Net shield. The city is quiet, with many of the buildings the same in the Net, but not all. The place eerily empty. Asarar walks down the fire escape

<DeathStar> 6* Big enough for them all, climbing in. On the roof top behind them, if any have a Perception of 6 or higher, would detect some movement.

<DeathStar> <Asarar> I determined that it was the Choir Breakers that attacked us last time. *She says cheerfully* Can you believe such a group wanted to attack me? *she notes with a note of being impressed*
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar drives along quite well, peering at Jelly. "Hm? Yellow submarine what?"
<Stretch> 6* Jelly sighs and hangs his head

<DeathStar> <Asarar> The Choir Breakers are an elite Tech Runner group Corporations hire to attack each other.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> They usually cause a lot of destruction. They are freelance, so any Corporation can hire them. They're so good the Corporations don't kill them out right and just hire them to use against the others
<Stretch> 6* Jelly sighs but melts at the ear rubbings
<Sara> <Chelsea> So... the odds are that the Corporations sicced them on us
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I bet you can guess which what. *Her face darkens a moment and her eyes flare purple, before it vanishes and she quiets*
<Seraphna> Luci> "Can we blow up more of his tower?"
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar heads for Quad 3; here in the NEt there are no force fields up between quads, so she just crosses Quad 5 to 4
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Sounds fine to me.
<AquaKoala> *Otto looks out the back window "Could always try the old school method, load up a van with bathtub semtex and drive it though the entrance.'
<Jackieness> <Kira> "You have to cut the snake's head off, not blow up its hole."
<Seraphna> Luci> "But blowing up it's hole feels satisfying and it involves explosives."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar takes a short cut in case they are being followed, humming and as they cross under a bridge, the symbol of Truth is glowing, likely spraypainted there in the real world
<AquaKoala> *Otto nods "What Luci said."
<DeathStar> 6* It glows a foot away from the wall

<DeathStar> 6* ASarar stops
<AquaKoala> *Otto eyes the cross and climbs out, moving to touch it
<DeathStar> 6* A merowl heard in the backseat

<DeathStar> 6* As soon as Otto touches the symbol, he begins to see flashes of code flash rapidly, then he sees cracks in the world, showing the make up of Kumen in binary momentarily in this area. Granted, this is the Net, so that could explain it.

<Stretch> 6* Jelly keeps laying with his head in Chel's lap, absently petting one of her two tails

<Jackieness> <Kira> *climbs out and shrugs, moving to touch the symbol as well*

<DeathStar> 6* At that moment, a rocket launches and hits the large car, causing it rock hard and begin to be destroyed, and everything inside. Ymir sits up
<DeathStar> <Asarar> I think people are taking the Net too serious---*She turns*
<AquaKoala> *Otto rapidly fires back at where the rocket came from
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Ymir, get out of there!"
<Sara> * Chelsea uses her Saphiric Acceleration to increase her speed by +2 for 10 turns, then burns several (as necessary) speed to rush and get Ymir out
<Stretch> 6* Jelly scrambles to get behind a large obstacle "Grandiose Bullemia!"

<Seraphna> * Luci looks around quickly taking a headcount. She grumbles. "I think we should move."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar moves further under the bridge, trying to at least make sure no one above it is shooting. She looks around
<AquaKoala> *Otto hits the ground, looking through his scope at where he was
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We're sitting ducks under this if its rooftop fire
<kalonZombie> 6*Max follows along, holding his sword
<Seraphna> * Luci nods and follows her, keeping a hand out to get ready to summon defenses if needed.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "your friends again?"
<DeathStar> <Asarar> They won't quit until the job is done, I guess. 6* Her eyes are burning purple now, and the scars on her hands are back
<Sara> * Chelsea grabs Ymir and moves along with the others, though she isn't very strong so it's a bit burdening unless Ymir walks on her own
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Lobotomize them in the Net and they are toast."
<DeathStar> 6* Otto would see a figure on the ground in front of a building, but the others are gone, already moved
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar looks around and spots a manhole, ripping it up with a wave of her hand, vines growing up and yanking it up
<DeathStar> 6* Then tosses it aside
<DeathStar> 6* She slides in
<AquaKoala> *Otto rises and slithers into the sewer
<DeathStar> <Ymir> I-I can move!
<DeathStar> 6* She assures Chelsea
<kalonZombie> 6*Max stands on one side of it, being a bodyguard, making sure everyone else goes down safe first
<Seraphna> * Luci grumbles and hops down the hole.
<Stretch> 6* Jelly glances around quickly before runs to follow after Asarar
<Sara> * Chelsea sets Ymir down and nods briefly, then follows after Asarar
<Jackieness> <Kira> *moves down the manhole*
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir holds onto the C4 and rolls into the sewer. It is empty of all sewage at least. Asarar eyes her outfit, making a noise of annoyance that it isn't her armored coat and tie.
<kalonZombie> 6*Once everyone else goes down Max hops down
<AquaKoala> *Otto turns out a flashlight
<AquaKoala> On*
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar walks along, peering around, wincing at the flashlight slightly, shielding her eyes as she moves. She glances at Kira. "Update me. What's the situation."
<Seraphna> * Luci takes a breath and moves along. She peers at Asarar a moment.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "I might have guessed... anyway, we inserted into the Net, and the Choir Breakers or another group are stalking us."
<Sara> * Chelsea looks a little bit confused
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Right. *she nods, mumbling something* Okay, got it. *She moves forward and slides up to the side* Kira, if they were across the street, they will come in ahead of us. Set up surprises.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> You can move quietly, so get above them and come down
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We'll hit them with Otto's rifle from a distance when you disorient them
<Jackieness> <Kira> "Have any surprises in mind?"
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar thinks, then eyes Ymir, pointing. "Set up those around."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> The mission is scrapped if they reported back we are here.
<Jackieness> <Kira> "...I'll come up with something." *moves tog et back to street level in stealth*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We need to deal with these fuckers before we hit the refiners, or anything else. They'll always be in the Net waiting on us. Or outside it probably. They probably had half their team waiting on the outside too
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir toses Kira the C4
<Seraphna> Luci> "Yeah but I can punch the ones on the outside."
<DeathStar> <Asarar> We'll give Kira a moment to move around setting those up, she's quiet. Then we'll move forward. Once the fun starts, Otto can snipe a few and the rest of us will close the distance
<Sara> * Chelsea looks like she's on guard, peering around slowly as much as she really can
<Jackieness> <Kira> *takes the C4 with her*
<AquaKoala> *Otto preps his rifle
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar leans on on the wall, peering at a watch
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Set a date finally, Max?
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir shivers against Chelsea for warmth
<kalonZombie> <Max> Not setting a date until I can afford everything.
<Sara> * Chelsea glances at her, looking slightly uncomfortable but dealing with it
<DeathStar> <Ymir> Mrrrr
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir tries to look cute
<Seraphna> * Luci grumbles a bit and forms her lvl. 1 blade, and activates her arm shield. She muses.
<AquaKoala> *Otto kneels down, waiting patientl
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Okay, move onward. 6* She begins to move right through the sewer
<DeathStar> <Asarar> They will think they are ambushing us. Let's disabuse them of that. *She notes, sounding cold*
<kalonZombie> 6*Max follows, large sword in hand
<AquaKoala> *Otto flips his light off, sneaking along
<Seraphna> * Luci moves along. 
<Sara> <Chelsea> Disabuse? Is that a word? *she follows Luci's lead by using her Manifest Edge to create her Metal Buckler for defense, 4 Durability*
<kalonZombie> <Max> <Always nice, yes.>
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar moves slowly, her purple eyes glowing like she can see in the dark, moving to the left.
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Hm, I don't know. I heard it a lot during my time at Macross.
<AquaKoala> Otto> Yes, it is.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *has her party favors all laid out*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> *turns right, peering down the hallway and lifts a hand at the sudden silence, pointing ahead. There is no doubt there is a trap waiting them in the larger sewer area where it opens up.*
<DeathStar> <Asarar> In there. *she says silently, moving forward*
<AquaKoala> *Otto lies down, watching silently
<Seraphna> * Luci takes a silent breath even though she doesn't need to and moves carefully.
<DeathStar> 6* With no running water in here, it seems rather large and empty, lots of tunnels running into here. A ladder is off to the side and eerie light comes down into here. Asarar steps in
<Sara> * Chelsea peers around as she walks, not that she expects to see anything, but she just feels on edge, especially as they come to the ladder
<kalonZombie> 6*Max moves as silently as a 7 foot tall man made out of almost nothing but muscle holding a giant sword can
<DeathStar> 6* Then immediately rolls as a disrupter blast meant to erase her hits the ground. From the upper right tunnel one of the Runners fires rapidly. Two more is in another tunnel on ground left, one standing, one laying down, fire disrupters at her as she rolls toward the center of the room.
<DeathStar> 6* From ground level, firing down the man hole, another fires straight down at the center as she enters
<AquaKoala> *Otto fires on the the runners in the left tunnel
<Sara> * Chelsea moves to shield Asarar, her buckler at ready, cringing. "Well then..."
<Seraphna> * Luci rolls in another direction, foming her Anti-Range Disc and preparing to move it in the way of any critical attacks on people.
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar grabs Chelsea, moving for an down right tunnel, since these disrupters are meant to erase in here, diving as Chelsea shields her from a hit and rolls
<kalonZombie> 6*Max leaps out of the way and tries to find some cover
<Seraphna> * Luci keeps moving for cover, burning a perception to keep an eye out for everyone's defenses as she does.
<DeathStar> 6* Otto's shots force the people in the tunnel on the left to pause in their firing to move backwards.
<AquaKoala> *Otto stays in position, lying down and drawing into the smallest target possible, shifting to fire on the upper right runners
<DeathStar> 6* In here, once a shield breaks, any attack is fatal with those disrupters
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Should have brought the disrupter I stole last time this shit happened. *She says in the right tunnel, ducking down*
<DeathStar> 6* Luci and MAx reach a northern tunnel out of range
<Sara> <Chelsea> Tch... *stays close to Asarar, ready to do anything she can, moving cautiously but not slowly*
<Seraphna> <Luci> <Where's the damn boom?>
<DeathStar> 6* Otto strikes the guy in the right tunnel, knocking out his shielding
<DeathStar> 6* He backs up. The guy on ground range debates if he has to go down there since none are in sight of him now
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir bounces behind Otto, cheering

<Jackieness> <Kira> *slides up behind the one that was firing from the manhole and gives them a shove in, attaching a wad of C4 as she does so*
<DeathStar> <Sword> <Believe in yourself!> *no it doesn't say that*
<Seraphna> <Luci> <All I do is summon shields and swords!>
<DeathStar> 6* The man screams as he falls down, hitting hard. HE rises, then explodes, vanishing for good, sending an explosion out that knocks the others back
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar lands with Chelsea in her lap
<Sara> <Chelsea> Eep!
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Fuck me. *she coughs*
<Seraphna> * Luci grumbles and keeps down, gripping onto her cover.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *slips back into the shadows*
<Sara> <Chelsea> What? here?
<Sara> * she seems disoriented
<AquaKoala> *Otto fires on the rim of the opening hoping the ricochet to hit someone
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Huh? *She shakes her head, the purple flickering, then helps Chelsea up* I can't hear you
<kalonZombie> 6*Max tries to peek up past his cover to see if he can get closer
<Sara> * Chelsea blinks, but gets her daggers at ready again, peering around slowly and burning perception
<DeathStar> 6* Otto nails the guy with no shield, dropping him, making him twitch and bleed out. He tries to lift his weapon
<DeathStar> 6* The other two retreat down their tunnel for now
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar steps back out, holding her head, shaking it, her hearing messed up a bit
<AquaKoala> *Otto puts the injured out of his misery
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar holds out her hand, trying to use her spirit powers to close off the tunnel the other two ran and direct them toward Kira
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Urngh..
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Damn
<AquaKoala> *Otto shifts and shoots one of the c4
<DeathStar> 6* ASarar jerks as Otto shoots another C4, covering her ears as he blows up another section of the sewers, covering her ears
<DeathStar> <Asarar> WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR?
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar steps back
<Sara> * Chelsea gives Asarar a comforting squeeze to the hand she isn't using

<AquaKoala> Otto> IT WAS THERE
<Jackieness> <Kira> *shadows the rough path of the sewer line and then spawncamps the next manhole cover
<Seraphna> Luci> "Yep... should distract those on the other side."
<DeathStar> 6* The two remaining Tech-Runners decide to run for it, emerging from a man hole half a block away
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar nods to Chelsea, stumbling for the ladder disorientedly with her hearing off and climbs
<AquaKoala> *Otto rises and heads for the ladder,
<Sara> * Chelsea follows after Asarar, watching her to make sure she'll be okay
<Seraphna> * Luci moves after them.
<Jackieness> <Kira> *runs her tongue across her upper lip as she C4-bombs the manhole cover as the runners emerge*
<kalonZombie> 6*Max moves after them as well
<DeathStar> <Asarar> SOMETHING TELLS ME THIS EXPLOSION STUFF TURNS KIRA ON. I NEED TO MAKE SURE NOT TO GIVE HER C4 AGAIN EXCEPT ON IMPORTANT MISSIONS
<AquaKoala> Otto> SEEMS EFFECTIVE TO ME
<DeathStar> 6* The other two Tech-Runners fly up, dead. No doubt the half of the team that didn't come on this mission will want revenge on Kira now
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir follows them. "Wow this is so cool. Can I come on missions all the time?"
<AquaKoala> *Otto also seemingly has hearing damage, despite not having human style ears
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar stumbles along back for Quad 5, looking for some sort of transportation, with her's blown up. Her purple eyes still going strong and acting more like her normal self
<DeathStar> <Asarar> DID JELLY BLOW UP?\
<AquaKoala> Otto> DUNNO
<DeathStar> <Ymir> *leans toward Chelsea* Asarar with the glowing eyes is kinda scary. I like it when she's normal and gives me extra catnip and pets me and you.
<Sara> <Chelsea> Really? I think she's lovely all the time.
<DeathStar> 6* Ymir shudders as Asarar and Otto keep yelling, covering her cat ears
<AquaKoala> *Otto pulls out and forms a netvan
<Jackieness> <Kira> *sashays over to the others* "Mmmm, that was fun."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar gives Kira a smile and thumbs up. "I CAN TELL YOU ENJOYED IT."
<Jackieness> <Kira> "What's with the shouting?"
<AquaKoala> *Otto rubs the sides of his reptilian head
<Seraphna> * LUci gras a Jelly if he's grabbable to bring along, sighing as she tilts her head at Asarar. "I think she's deaf."
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar gives Kira a wink

<DeathStar> 6* By the time they get back, Asarar is normal hearing wise and back in her typical attire, doing a report on the mission, musing and reviewing the cameras, leaned back as she sips whiskey
<DeathStar> <Asarar> Hm. *she jots a note*
<AquaKoala> *Otto leans back, sipping a martini
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar finishes the review and rises from her desk and moves for her room, wearing her gloves again, her eyes still glowing faintly
<Seraphna> * Luci gives Jelly a Tail Fanciers magazine and lets him rest off the trauma. While she grabs her new dress to go try it on.
<DeathStar> 6* Asarar slaps the note in her drawer and closes it

<DeathStar> 6* Asarar leans back and eyes herself in the mirror, taking a breath, then finishes her whiskey before moving to join the others
