<Sathen> *Maeryn shakes her head and heads over, touching Salamander* I think you need to reexamine the definition of bias.

<DeathStar> <Qui> While we are all here, I wonder if there is anything that can be done about the Senate. ... Even if Jules is saved, they might can get away with pushing through a new Kaiser. Jules' father was poisoned and was so crippled he could not lead anymore.

<Seraphna> Alita> "For a disowned man, they seemed quite confident they could put my husband in the position."

<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> Is there anything you can do for Jules here. A coup may be taking place.

<DeathStar> <Qui> They likely needed a legit heir to try to get rid of Jules before
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> If Jules here dies, it's quite possible all the progress in these two lands will be nothing more than a receding tide.
<DeathStar> 6* Undine nods, musing, and leans forward, touching Jules, trying to tell what went wrong, mapping out things
<Xanatos> <Simon> Lady Contessa, do you know much about the workings of the Senate? 6*He asks then pauses to look to see if she's still here.

<Seraphna> Alita> "I'm just saying that must mean there is a legal means that his legitimacy as an heir can be upheld. At any rate... we need something to stall them... they can't replace him if he's still alive, right?"
<DeathStar> <Contessa> I'm afraid not. Ladies aren't on the Senate. I mean I know some women who think we should be, but we don't really have a vote in the government. We just got so many rights under the Kaiser
<DeathStar> <Contessa> I know some hope that will be next; the men fear it
<Xanatos> <Simon> Do you perhaps know any senators sympathetic to Jules that we could talk too?
<DeathStar> <Contessa> I'm sorry, no. Hapes might
<Seraphna> Alita> "Motivation enough to try and remove Jules. Perhaps we should talk to Hapes."
<Seraphna> Alita> "We can also try and prove his innocence, he surely can't be tried for murdering against his own will?"
<Xanatos> <Simon> Thank you. I will go talk to him. 6* He bows slightly to Contessa and then nods to everyone before going to see Hapes.

<DeathStar> 6* Salamander and company appear in the courtyard. Lumi looks up, sunbathing with little clothes on, then yelps, and quickly pulls her top on over large, pale white breasts, and makes a yelp like a dog might

<DeathStar> <Salamander> I imagine Simon and Gwen are regretting not coming along.
<Sathen> *Maeryn looks about and headtilts* Hmm, interesting...so this is how you absorb the sunlight?
<Seraphna> Talia> "...I wonder how get so big." *she looks down at herself, after poofing into human form sitting on Gwen's shoulders majestically, being a loli*

<DeathStar> 6* She walks up the temple steps and goes inside, moving into Miyuki's office, peering around and seeing no sign of her, shrugging and figuring Miyuki and Isis must be going at it. She works at the safe code.
<Seraphna> Talia> "Stick stone thing inside Jules? Hope for best?"
<Sathen> *Maeryn stands there quietly and watching*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "And go find Mykel."
<DeathStar> <Shion> I will, but an average shuttle takes about 2-3 hours to get here, and them we have to assume that Airym would need time to interface with the crystal shard.
<DeathStar> <Shion> We can't depend on Airym as our trump card.
<Seraphna> * Talia nods and goes to get Mykel and bring him back.
<DeathStar> 6* She removes one, a rather large one and eyes it's purity
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Then we need to keep moving forward rather than waiting."
<Sathen> *Mykel frowns at Talia's arrival, but gathers his gear quickly before heading out of the temple to join the others* Why is Talia saying "Ugly guy dying" and "Come to Mistress"?

<DeathStar> 6* Shion turns on their radion, using up what power is left in it to talk to the Aquarius, nodding as she talks to Yuki, motioning with her hand as she expolains things
<DeathStar> <Salamander> Because I beat a thong wearing, musculed up, flame head and showed I am queen of the fire
<DeathStar> 6* She nods, running her hand along her hips and cha chas
<Seraphna> Talia> "Now we shove stone in Jules and make better."
<DeathStar> 6* Shion sets the radio device down and shuts it off to save power since Geyze sucks energy.
<Sathen> *Mykel stops and stares at Sasha* How is he?

<Sathen> Mykel> Who was controlling Hapes?
<Seraphna> Talia> "Senators smelly. Probably smelly one that tried recruit you. Or his cronies."
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Unknown, though I suspect it was the masked beings again... just by the nature of the chosen murder weapon."
<Seraphna> Talia> "Mistress say most obvious answer usually right answer."
<DeathStar> 6* Shion pockets the shard. "That is the 100 coin credit, and what is their objective? I mean, unlike everyone else, I don't think the Senators did it."

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "A corrupted crystal fragment embedded in a ring."
<DeathStar> <Shion> I lean toward Sasha's answer. They seemed unaware of our people being taken and were working on ousting Jules through legal means.
<Seraphna> Talia> "Easy. Jules uniting Geyze. Jules make shield. Take out Jules, make Geyze go crazy."
<DeathStar> <Shion> But they had to have more in mind then taking out two potential leaders for men's right
<DeathStar> 6* Shion pauses at Talia's word
<DeathStar> <Shion> Shit
<DeathStar> 6* She grabs an armor coat and heads out
<Jackieness> <Sasha> Jules' death would have also cast the legitimacy of the senate into doubt because of their push against him. The Legion would have descended into chaos."

<Seraphna> * Talia heads after her, mewling heroicly, somehow with a fish now in hand.
<Sathen> *Mykel nods and moves to join them; Maeryn has been watching and standing near Lumi the entire time absorbing the sun along with her*

<Sathen> Mykel> At this point, to hell with the decree...I'm going. *touches Salamander*

<Xanatos> <Simon> The ring. I need to know everything you remember about it, particularly who is came from. More importantly, do you know any on the senate that are on Jules' side? I fear the Senate is working to appoint a new Kaiser at this moment.
<Kemonohime> * Vyvy remains back with Jules and Undine, god forbid something try to finish him off or nab Undine.
<Seraphna> * Alita stayed back by Jules' side, since only a healer could guard Jules in certain ways. Plus she wasn't about to let there be a situation where Jules' kicked the bucket because the healer went to investigate.

<DeathStar> <Undine> It is not magic, it is no poison. It is like something is writing him. *she searches for words* It is like it is writing him. *since this world does not have the term reality, she cannot grasp the concept* And replacing it with bad cells.

<DeathStar> <Undine> He is literally having all his healthy cells being turned into bad by whatever it is that's invaded him. I'm trying to slow it down

<Kemonohime> * Vyvy walks over and takes one of Undine's hands, putting it gently against her eyepatch.

<DeathStar> <Undine> If I ahd to guess, and this is a guess, I would say this ring was rewritten and had whatever it is put in it. The crystal did not have it before.

<DeathStar> 6* Salamander's group returns, poofing near Alita
<Seraphna> Alita> "So we need something to counteract the rewrite... to fix his text, in a sense."

<Sathen> *Mykel staggers slightly as they arrive, looking around to the guards in the room before taking in Jules's state on the bed and those still in the room*

<DeathStar> 6* Shion, unaware about Undine's major revelation, slams her hands on the table, having just come back from the academy
<DeathStar> <Shion> We have little time. We have to find out where the shield generator is. Or however Jules made it.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Thank you. I know this is a difficult time for you, but I promise to do whatever I can to get to the bottom of this.

<Xanatos> 6* Simon turns to leave, glancing at Gwen when he steps out.

<Xanatos> <Simon> I'm not sure how much you heard, but these Senators may be able to assist us. But there's also the shop that he got the ring from. Do we investigate together or split up?

<Sathen> Mykel> Well that's just lovely...Salamander, if Inferno were the one required to power it, would it not be likely in your former shrine at the Volcano?
<DeathStar> <Shion> Time is running out. *she peers at Simon* We have a crisis that affects all of Geyze, but we also have Jules' power base.

<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> Shion. As Alita informed you-- Jules is not poisoned, he's being re-coded by a corrupted crystal." She taps her eye.

<DeathStar> <Shion> You know more about spirits, so I guess we should check out the volcano as that's the most likely spot. You all can decide where/what matters most

<DeathStar> 6* Simon/Mykel's group has the choice to investigate the ring or go straight for the Senators

<DeathStar> 6* As they arrive, Gwen following behind, they see the Senators are there, led by Mihil, trying to get an emergency vote through
<DeathStar> 6* The ten Senators named look unsure, sitting off to their own side
<Sathen> *Mykel will move for the Senate floor, glancing around to see if there are any guards nearby*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon counts to see what ratio of senators are in terms of passing bills.
<DeathStar> 6* It seems the majority are debating it
<DeathStar> *to pass and make Mihil the new Kaiser*
<Sathen> *Mykel will move into the center of the floor* Senators, your attention please.
<DeathStar> 6* They all turn to eye Mykel, meaning of them whispering about him being banned by death, and a few glancing around for guards
<Xanatos> 6* Simon pauses and glances at Mykel and defers to him for now.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> 'And so Mykel saves his cousin. Then he is beheaded'

<Sathen> *Mykel glances at any of the guards in the Senate and shakes his head* Gentlemen, before you finalize the vote I feel compelled to bring a couple of things to your attention.

<DeathStar> 6* Mihil narrows his eyes
<DeathStar> <Mihil> The Senate does not recognize you. You were banished with penality of death. *He points and the guards draw their swords, walking down the asile*
<Sathen> Mykel> First; given the circumstances I am the only member of the Royal Family who can speak on behalf of our Kaiser. Whom you Senator Mihil were conspriring against not two days ago when you came to the Academy and tried to get me to side with you against my cousin.
<Xanatos> 6* Simon glances to Gwen to see if they should do something, wondering just how much worse they'd make it.
<DeathStar> 6* The Senator Mihil doesn't even crack a smile, watching as the guards grab Mykel's arms
<DeathStar> <Gwen> *shrugs* Mykel always knows what he is doing. Except when he doesn't and he blunders
<Sathen> *Mykel glances to both guards* Our Kaiser lifted the banishment when he realized what was going on...and asked that I be told what was going on here. Unhand me gentlemen.
<DeathStar> <Senator Mihil> Such a resolution was never passed here and the Kaiser is dying. For all we know, you poisoned our Kaiser. *he nods and the guards begin to drag Mykel off*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> *he moves over and talks with the ten Senators as Mykel provides a distraction, motioning and asking questions about how to keep Jules in power*
<Xanatos> 6* Simon moves with Gwen, keeping his voice low, asking what they can do to help the senators prolongue this meeting until the rest of the team can help Jules.
<Sathen> *Mykel digs in his feet and uses Tk lv2 to keep himself in place* No Senator, I declined joining you because you wouldn't agree to a simple stipulation I had...that no harm would come to either Hapes or Jules.
<DeathStar> <Senator Mihil> Are you accusing us of poisoning the Kaiser? *he seems genuinely angry* Deal with this man here and now
<DeathStar> 6* He motions the senators to follow him to another chamber
<DeathStar> 6* The guards shrug
<DeathStar> <Senators> We can try to dither and put in more stipulations
<DeathStar> <Senators> But unless Jules is healed..
<Xanatos> <Simon> I believe our team is working on that. We believe Hapes was controllered with a powerful ring. Is there really no way to at least appoint him if Jules is unable to continue?
<Sathen> Mykel> And that is just what is being done right now Senators, yet here you are trying to appoint somebody in his place before an outcome can even be seen.
<DeathStar> <Senators> People saw him do it. Unless you can find proof and hurry back
<DeathStar> <Senator Mihil> The Kaiser is in the same condition as his father who never recovered. We are doing what is needed to keep our kingdom strong in this time. *they close the doors*
<Sathen> Mykel> You're worried about perceptions Senators?
<DeathStar> <Gwen> So the ring shop
<DeathStar> <Senators> Ring shop?

<DeathStar> <Gwen> Mykel's actions will give them something to talk about at least

<DeathStar> 6* The guards try headchopping with Mykel in the meantime as Gwen and Simon sneak out

<DeathStar> 6* Salamander poofs onto the upper level. As the group arrives, they see a huge system of spirit-tech there, broken and busted, and already overloading
<DeathStar> <Shion> We are too late.
<DeathStar> <Shion> But if this blows up... it will take out the volcano and half of the Legion territory.
<Sathen> *Maeryn ponders it for a moment* Used too much for too long?
<DeathStar> 6* It seems like some force came and hammered and broke it up
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...Inferno?"
<Sathen> Maeryn> Wouldn't he have just melted it with heat?
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Matters little right now. We need to stop it."
<Sathen> Maeryn> Fair enough, so how do we get it out of here? Spirit teleport?
<DeathStar> 6* Salamander steps on something gooy and she peers down
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *looks down as Slaamnder does*
<DeathStar> <Salamander> *kneeling, the remains of a spirit can be seen, oozing and dissolving*
<DeathStar> <Salamander> ACK!
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...I suspect we just found Inferno..."
<DeathStar> <Salamander> Who could tear a spirit apart like this?
<Sathen> *Maeryn looks at it and frowns* Somebody with a lot of rage?
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> ..." She grinds her teeth.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Again, we can investigate later. We need to act now."
<DeathStar> 6* The machine continues to overload. Salamander moves over
<DeathStar> <Salamander> I can try to interact with it and teleport
<Sathen> Maeryn> I guess the match between Inferno and Salamander wasn't a good thing, it weakened him. *Looks around for anybody else on the level where they are*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Lady Shion, do you have the expertise to try to dismantle it? I fear that I do not."
<DeathStar> <Shion> No, it is too large and too far gone
<Sathen> Maeryn> Just slicing it into tiny bits would be bad and trigger what we want to stop...
<DeathStar> 6* The machine seems to run have huge pipes that go about into the volcano to draw power too
<DeathStar> <Shion> This system is just too elaborate.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Overengineered..."
<DeathStar> 6* Salamander nods and grabs part of it, running her fire powers into the volcano, drawing energy
<DeathStar> <Salamander> Stand back in case this fails
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> I will not
<DeathStar> 6* She grows larger and larger, taking more and more heat from the volcano
<Sathen> *Maeryn moves back behind the others
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *steps back*
<DeathStar> <Salamander> Vyvy?
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> Suppose Inferno had the same idea
<DeathStar> <Shion> I think something snuck up and sliced him to death---
<DeathStar> 6* She pauses and turns just as a masked figure slices out at her
<DeathStar> 6* It's bladed weapons crushing rock
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> Exactly." She dashes on a dime, drawing the moonflower blade to counter
<Sathen> *Maeryn pops Leaf5 to strike out at the figure from range*
<DeathStar> 6* Shion forms her bo and turns, whacking at the masked figure, who seems to be trying to get at Salamander, who keeps trying to lift the machine up
<DeathStar> 6* The figure jerks. It seems to be a low level figure at least. One of the weaklings.
<Kemonohime> * Vyvy enters her karmic fang stance in paladin-mode and starts fighting in a vicious manner that would leave wounds in normal foes even if they defend successfully
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *draws her blade and then dashes at the masked figure*
<Kemonohime> <Vyvy> Make sure there's no others.
<DeathStar> 6* The weapon seems to be the real danger, as the weapon glows
<DeathStar> 6* The masked figure slashes at Shion, catching her arm. She jerks, dropping the bo as the arm goes numb
<DeathStar> <Shion> Tch. Watch out
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *has a thought as she sheathes her blader and moves to get behind the figure*
<Sathen> *Maeryn levels her staff and swings it at the figure*
<DeathStar> 6* The figure blocks Vyvy's attacks with the dagger, relying on it way too much; it then tries to block Maeryn
<Sathen> *Maeryn unleases Nature's Hunter Atk on it*
<Sathen> [5hp damage]
<DeathStar> 6* Salamander finally manages to teleport out with the device, the volcano still jerking about as it leaves, due to the amount of energy needed. However, with it gone, the shield drops around all the kingdoms
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *tries to wrap her arms around the figure from behind*

<DeathStar> 6* The figure jerks as it's hit. Up in the sky, there's a huge explosion, rocking things. T he figure, distracted, gets caught by Sasha
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *mow that she has him, she then uses her Body Enhancement to make a super jump to try to get the figure airborne with her*
<DeathStar> 6* The figure drops his knife, which falls down into the volcano. Realizing he's screwed, the figure twitches, as if activating something, and he slumps, steam hissing out of his mask as his face and body dissolve. Soon the volcano stops rocking and all quiets, but no sign of Salamander

<DeathStar> 6* Gwen looks for the ring shop, seeing no sign of it
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Damn.
<DeathStar> 6* He looks around where it was suppose to have been
<DeathStar> 6* All that is there now is an abandoned book store looking building
<Xanatos> <Simon> I mean...it could be this place?
<Xanatos> 6* Simon motions to the book store building.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> I guess. *he breaks down the door and steps inside Walking about, he looks for clues the ring owner might have left behind*
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Hapes said he got a receipt. But unless we can find something to prove his case...
<Xanatos> <Simon> I wonder how they enticed Hapes to come in this place?
<Xanatos> 6* Simon peers around as he enters, looking for some sort of records bin or anything that might give a clue.
<DeathStar> 6* Simon finds the remnants of what looks like paper to write down records. On it is the torn half of what looks like a single sell for two engagement rings
<DeathStar> 6* The names of the buyers look faded though since this is just a copy
<Xanatos> 6* Simon ponders a few moments and looks for another piece of paper and a pencil to see if he can do the trick where you rub the lead on the paper overtop the copy and get the remnant of the indention.
<DeathStar> 6* Simon manages to achieve seeing Hapes' name.
<Xanatos> <Simon> Here's proof of the receipt, but I'm not sure it'll be enough to go on.
<DeathStar> <Gwen> It might be enough to slow their antics down and put Hapes' name in the running until Undine heals Jules
<DeathStar> 6* Gwen heads back, pausing as an explosion rocks the sky, shaking the area
<DeathStar> <Gwen> Spirits perserve, what is that
<Xanatos> 6* Simon stands up and peers around, what does it look like in here. A book store, a jewelry shop or?

<DeathStar> <Senator> *Stands up, one support Jules* It is worth looking into. Hapes is a legitmate heir after all
<Kemonohime> * Vyvy kicks in part of the door behind the three looking about as angry and hagrid as possibly, having never put her eyepatch back on so the feral eye is showing.
