<DeathStar> <Shion> Hm, it seems the C'en took over the planets in the Empire over the past 20 years steadily, one by one, taking out the spirits and converting the planets, to the C'en power.
<Sathen> *Mykel will pet both his wives to make sure neither of them gets jealous*
<DeathStar> <Shion> Each planet is linked via something called the Network. Afterwards the Planets are allowed to basically do what they want, with just a handful of C'en left behind
<Jackieness> <Airym> *searches for data on the Network*
<Seraphna> Cookie> "Why are they so against spirits?"
<DeathStar> <Shion> Good question. *Airym would get blocked, her access not high enough.*
<Sara> <Erica> People fear what they don't understand, and people don't understand what they fear.
<Jackieness> <Airym> "That information is not available to public searches."
<DeathStar> <Yuki> So we have to assume the Cry's money is still here, left to them
<Sathen> Maeryn> And what is meant by 'taking out the spirits'?
<Seraphna> Cookie> "Empires don't usually invade, just burn down some structures and walk away... but they only really seem interested it taking down the spirits by the sound of it."
<Sara> <Erica> Maybe the Spirits are one of the things that could stand up against them even if they took over. Who knows.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "I am less concerned with the Crotek treasury than I am with our own worlds."
<DeathStar> <Shion> *she leans forward* From what my counterpart left us, they are just listed as a danger to this reality and ours
<Sara> * Ellie looks at Sasha, frowning but seeming to agree
<DeathStar> *Sylph peers around Ellie*

<DeathStar> <Sylph> Sylph is too cute to be a danger

<Sathen> Mykel> Good vague answer there.

<Seraphna> Cookie> "Without a good reason it sounds like they're just scapegoating spirits over some deeper problem."
<DeathStar> <Shion> Well, since most of these building are likely native, the Network is likely in there. *She puts in the crystal spire*
<DeathStar> *The spire data comes up. It is listed as the C'en compound that is left to link the C'en empire*
<Sathen> Kaylin> I would like to note for everybodies consideration, they are likely monitoring us currently.
<Jackieness> <Airym> "A spire structure would be well-suited as an antenna."
<Seraphna> Cookie> "Hrm... well we know what to look for from now on."
<Sara> * Erica looks up with a sigh. "If they are monitoring us, I hope they're scared, 'cause if they mess with my crew, my family -- I'll leave every last one of 'em with a nice dent in their skull."
<DeathStar> *the doors open and the slightly younger Shion enters, peering at the twins first, looking them over, then at Erica and Yuki, finally at Shion and Airym*
<Sathen> Mykel> Is there any indication of what they do to captured leaders from the worlds theyve taken over? And is there any mention in that treminal of what their plans are for...

<Sara> <Erica> If you want to monitor us and treat us like we're in a zoo, yes. Never heard that a cornered animal is the most dangerous?

<Sathen> *Mykel returns the stare, albeit non-threateningly*

<Sara> * Erica glances at Cookie, then looks at Mhion, wondering

<DeathStar> <Mhion> I was planning to let you leave. Unless you want me to end your journey here and now
<Sara> <Erica> Thank you for not resorting to hostilities, and my apologies. I simply can't stand well for being treated as prisoners on a peaceful mission, especially not with... those dear at risk.
<Xanatos> 6* Simon steps in, tilting his head slightly at the group.
<Sara> * Erica's eyes are sharp and political

<Sathen> *Maeryn cracks her neck, looking at Mhion* If only...but I follow my commanding officer. Perhaps next time.

<DeathStar> 6* Shion walks past Mhion. Mhion gives Maeryl a smile showing teeth
<Jackieness> <Airym> "Your data has been most enlightening." *walks out*
<Sara> * Erica keeps an eye on both Shions as she stands, taking Yuki's hand to lead her along

<Sathen> *Maeryn will follow after Shion, a couple tentacles slipping up and waving at Mhion*

<DeathStar> 6* Yuki follows along. They would find themselves outside, near the Spire without any C'en watching them. Shion lets out a breath, peering at it, then the way back to their ship.
<Sathen> *Kaylin will move along after the rest, taking rear guard*
<Sara> <Erica> Kaylin, would you be a dear and make sure my wife makes it back to the ship?
<DeathStar> *Sylph peers around, floating behind Alita, then Ceilia, looking for people*
<Sara> * Erica glances at the spire with a frown
<DeathStar> <Yuki> *she blinks at Erica*
<Sara> * Erica then glances at Shion
<Xanatos> <Simon> The locals did not like me. One bit. But I did get some info. Basically they came in, took out the spirits, built the spire and then sorta...leave everyone alone.
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "We are already suspect. Tarrying further would not be wise."
<Sathen> *Kaylin nods and looks to YUki* Miss Yuki?
<Seraphna> * Cookie and Alita move along with the others.
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Alright... *She lets out a breath and goes with Kaylin
<DeathStar> <Shion> Going to make a run for the Spire?
<Sara> <Erica> You looked like you were considering it. It'd be equal to murder to let anyone go alone.
<DeathStar> <Shion> I am curious. I suspect the Network is in there.
<DeathStar> <Shion> Traveling by ship to another planet to find another spire could take more years
<Sathen> *Kaylin will walk alongside Yuki*

<Seraphna> * Cookie rubs her head a bit.
<DeathStar> <Shion> But you're the Captain
<Sara> <Erica> Yuki will be safe... we should take this chance, I suppose.

<Jackieness> <Airym> "We should send more to the ship so that sufficient senior crew will be available should unfortunate events occur."

<Sara> <Erica> I agree. Airym, please leave this to us.

<Sara> <Erica> Aye. I'll be back.

<Jackieness> <Airym> "Please advise me of any additional data that you collect. I must untangle this Network."

<Seraphna> * Cookie moves to follow Yuki. While Alita peers to her spouses, the Shion. "Need more company?"
<DeathStar> <Shion> Whoever wants to follow, go ahead
<Sara> * Erica glances at the others. "It's your funeral, mates."
<DeathStar> *Shion approaches the spire
<Sara> * Erica approaches with Shion
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "Maeryn, return to the ship."
<Sathen> Mykel> I think we're still missing Kasha too
<Seraphna> * Alita follows Shion.

<DeathStar> *Yuki steps into the shuttle, where Kasha is at, sipping tea*
<Sathen> *Maeryn sighs* And here I was hoping to run into the younger Shion and return the favor of what she did to my face... *joins Airym*
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *then turns, her hair swwoshing in the air as she starts after the group heading to the Spire*
<DeathStar> <Shion> You realize that is who we were talking to up ther?
<Sathen> *Mykel goes along after Shion*
<DeathStar> *Shion heads off, fading in the distance*

<Jackieness> <Airym> "I shall take us back to the ship." *moves to their shuttle*
<DeathStar> *Yuki takes a seat in the pilot, powering the shuttle
<Sathen> Maeryn> Couldn't very well do anything with everyone there with a guilliotine hanging over their heads...
<Sara> * Erica disappears along with Shion -- and whoever else went with them, much as she tried to dissuade them

<DeathStar> 6* A tiny fox, moving from rock to rock, as if it's never been a fox before this day, evades everyone and moves up into the shuttle out of sight and hides in a box*
<Seraphna> * Cookie hops in and leans over to Yuki. "You okay?"
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Yeah. I'll be fine
<DeathStar> *Yuki, once everyone is on, flies up to the ship, bringing it into the hanger. She then sends the shuttle back down on auto pilot
<Seraphna> Cookie> "Come to medical with me, I wanna do a proper scan and doctor stuff."
<Jackieness> <Airym> "I advise quarantine procedures int he event that any devices have been planted on our person."
<Seraphna> Cookie> "So a scan for everyone and let's clean the shuttle and any cargo up good."
<DeathStar> <Yuki> I'll get Mireille to scan us
<DeathStar> *Yuki moves up to the bridge, where Mireille is playing, and motions for her to run a scan. *
<DeathStar> *The fox sneaks out, subtlely moving down the hall. Creep creep creep
<DeathStar> *She moves for Shion's room*
<Sathen> *Kaylin keeps an eye on things as they get off the shuttle as well as the other passengers*
<kalonZombie> 6*Junior yips and chases after the fox in puppy form
<Seraphna> Cookie> *hums and heads to medical to get her scanning equipment for Yuki*
<DeathStar> *The fox touches Junior, making him fall over asleep*
<DeathStar> *Then continues on it's way*

<Sathen> *Kaylin sighs and moves to catch Junior* Little pups shouldn't be running around in the shuttle bay...

<Seraphna> * Cookie blinks a bit. "Can you lock onto them?"
<Seraphna> * Cookie moves into the bridge as she talks and puts her stuff down near the controls.

<DeathStar> *The fox enters Shion's room*
<Jackieness> <Airym> "Please give me the readings."
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Hm, you should head down there and check it out
<DeathStar> *Yuki waits in the Captain's chair, keeping an eye on the readings for people entering the shuttle
<Seraphna> * Cookie nods and moves to check.
<Jackieness> <Airym> *turns and goes to Shion's quarters as well*
<DeathStar> *Cookie would not find anyone when she arrives. Shion's door would be closed as well, locked*
<Seraphna> * Cookie peers around. She comms back. "Nothing here, though notably this area is outside Shion's room."
<Jackieness> <Airym> *sweeps the area with her sensors* "Scanning."
<DeathStar> <Yuki> Hm? *she eyes the area* The same hallway, I'd say
<DeathStar> <Yuki> You want to check inside?
<Seraphna> Cookie> "May as well. Mireille doesn't very often have misreadings right?"
<DeathStar> <Mireille> *puffs cheeks*
<DeathStar> *Airym would pick up fur, fox and Junior fur. Yes, it lists it as Junior*
<Seraphna> Cookie> *said that in a way she doubts Mirei would be wrong*
<DeathStar> *Yuki overrides the lock on Shion's door*

<Jackieness> <Airym> "I am detecting fur."
<Seraphna> * Cookie moves over and peers in, looking about. "Hmm..." *she feels out for any mental activity in the room, even low level after Airym says that, assuming maybe Junior is hiding in the room*
<DeathStar> *Cookie wouldn't feel any mind activity*
<Jackieness> <Airym> *adjusts sensors to detect Centerpoint-like crystals and scans*
<Seraphna> Cookie> "I'm not picking up any mental presence... and of course Shion's not here."
<DeathStar> *Airym would get a faint signature of something in there*
<Sathen> *Kaylin will move to join both Cookie and Airym, looking into the room curiously*
<Jackieness> <Airym> "I am detecting a faint reality crystal signature."
<DeathStar> *A fox sits on Shion's bed, looking over her family stuff. Shifting through family portraits, clothes, etc. It seems to be curiously looking oer it all
<Seraphna> Cookie> "Huh... did Shion have a secret stash or something... wha..."
<DeathStar> *Ignoring Kaylin looking in*
<Seraphna> * Cookie eyes the fox. "Umm... okay..."
<DeathStar> *Yuki remains on the bridge, letting the others deal with the intruder*
<Seraphna> * Cookie taps her comms. "Seems like we have a foxey stowaway that can cloak herself from psionics."
<Jackieness> <Airym> *tilts her head to the side then scans the fox and compares it to the scans she previously took of Mhion*
<DeathStar> *The fox uses a paw to turn a page, glancing over it*
<DeathStar> *Then it sighs, at all the racket, turning into Mhion*
<DeathStar> <Mhion> You are all so loud
<DeathStar> -SCENE SHIFT-
<Seraphna> Cookie> *steps in a little and crosses her arms* "You could have just asked."
<Sathen> *Kaylin titls her head to the side and draws out one of her SMG's*

<DeathStar> 6* Shion finishes explaining what they think might be the Network as they enter the Spire. The C'en inside, thinking she is Shion, since Mhion is only a few years younger, let her through
<kalonZombie> 6*Ceilia follows, eyeballing the C'en
<Xanatos> <Simon> You found out so much more than me. 6* He sighs, putting a hand to his forehead.

<Sara> * Erica walks confidently, as if she belongs
<DeathStar> *they reach a giant crystal Gate

<DeathStar> <Shion> ... *She eyes it, circling the Gate*
<Xanatos> <Simon> Now that's a beauitful design.

<Sara> <Erica> I'd be naive if I didn't assume, based on the nature of the people here, that it's actually a practical design, not a beautiful one.

<DeathStar> *Shion touches the base of it and the gate comes to life, a blue aura in the middle appearing

<DeathStar> *She takes a breath, her fox ears flattening and she rushes through, vanishing

<kalonZombie> 6*Ceilia nods, trying to feel out to see if there's magic in it
<Xanatos> <Simon> We're supposed to test these things first!
<Seraphna> Alita> "Oh goodness.... do we follow?"

<DeathStar> 6* As they enter, they are transported to an area that has a huge crystal area. Much like what the kids found, but more complete. They stand on a high crystal platform. They can see more platforms high the air above them, some below them, some far away, some close by, etc. All hovering in an abyss, as if this world was once a giant complete place*
<DeathStar> *Sylph jerks, falling to her knees, having been flying, looking weak here*
<Sara> * Ellie holds Sylph, looking concerned
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "...what... is this place?"
<Seraphna> Alita> "No spirit energy here it seems."
<Xanatos> <Simon> Oh...oh wow. 6* He peers around in awe.
<kalonZombie> <Ceilia> It's... hauntingly neautiful

<DeathStar> *There's more of the Gates all around. Up ahead, they witness C'en warriors entering a gate up ahead, going somewhere. Sadly, none are labeled*
<Sathen> Mykel> An interesting place indeed...
<Seraphna> Alita> "Seems easy to get lost in here."
<Sara> <Erica> My crew, we've seen some crazy things on our journeys -- I can't say I'm as impressed.

<Jackieness> <Sasha> "A network of these gates that let them moves about the empire."
<Xanatos> <Simon> Doorways to different places you think? 6* He muses glancing behind them then up ahead where the other c'en went

<DeathStar> <Shion> If we found the right one, we might could find their home planet
<Seraphna> <Alita> "Seems like a bit of a gamble."
<kalonZombie> <Ceilia> Yeah there's a ton of gates here
<Sathen> Mykel> My guess, one that is harder to get to than all the others...
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "The seat of their power would likely be in the middle."
<Xanatos> <Simon> ...are they evolved past some signs or something?
<DeathStar> *The area begins to tremble, the crystals shaking, but none cracking*
<Sara> <Erica> That's assuming pretty design and not practical. Could be that the locations are relative to the real ones.
<Sathen> *Mykel looks around for the source*
<Seraphna> * Alita peers around. "Everyone remember we came out of the gate that looks exactly like all the other ones?"
<DeathStar> *A ship flies through up high, and if one squints, they can make out super large gates up there. A C'en ship flies along up above*
<Seraphna> Alita> "Huh... even bigger gates..."
<DeathStar> *It seems to roar up above in the abyss until it finds another super large gate across the way*
<Sara> <Erica> Ship warp gates...
<Sara> * Erica shudders, not fond of them
<Xanatos> <Simon> What should we do?
<Jackieness> <Sasha> "With this Network, any threat to their empire could be dealt with by near immediate deployment of their entire forces."
<Sara> <Erica> It's a weapon that reduces the need for actual weapons...
<DeathStar> <Shion> Agreed. They take over a planet, plant a spire, then move on
<DeathStar> <Shion> Connecting their empire and resources
<Sathen> Mykel> Frighteningly efficient.
<Sara> <Erica> I wonder
<DeathStar> <Voice> However, it's also a serious drawback
<Sara> * Erica turns quickly, in battle stance
<Jackieness> <Sasha> *glances to the source of the voice*
<Sathen> *Mykel turns and grabs the handle to his sword on his back*

<Sara> <Erica> Well... In the holo programs I used to watch, things like this... often had a way to destroy them from the inside -- destroying all of the 'conduits', or spires in this case I suppose, in the process...

<Sathen> *Mykel relaxes a bit, his hand staying at the small of his back as he appraises him*
