Verse 1, S.1: Session 28: Slumtown Blues

5.11.5990 CE
Asarar receives a job offer from an independent citizen asking them to investigate a murdering spree. The reward seems to be very high, and she quickly calls the team to see what they make of it, as she seems unsure.

The crime scenes appear to have only some body parts left behind, and don't even appear to be the murder locations. Quickly, the team agree to do it, due perhaps in part to the money. Asarar assigns Wolfe and Otto to head up the investigation.

They arrive at one of the crime scenes, finding it still marked off even weeks after the crime. They ponder about who the murder could be, with some thoughts being body part thieves or even someone trying to create their own people. They look at a map of the murders, noting that most of the victims were male with no noteworthy connections, and spaced far apart.

Asarar begins going through the data feeds, largely coming up empty-handed, although with an image of a hobbling man with a large trunk standing out. The others look into the store the first victim ran, the scent absolutely gut-wrenching, the walls covered in blood. Even the scene markers are spattered, leaving it likely that the murderer returned there. The store otherwise seems undisturbed.

In the van, they discuss what they know and try to puzzle out the situation, realizing the killer must have been rather resourceful or otherwise had a fair amount of access. They had on to another crime scene, where the owner of a clothing store had been murdered. They notice small blood stains in his house and a faint smell. Heading toward the basement, they find discarded electronic parts, for a Biotect to be more precise, and noticeable smoke.

The basement itself seem filled with smoke as they head into it, finding themselves face-to-face with a metal skeleton covered in a mix of rotting skin and fresh skin. It tells them not to look at it, and that it's not finished yet. It states an intent to finish itself, and the others attempt to get it to stand down, as it flails about and cries.

They realize that it seems to be a prototype Biotech, and Asarar approaches it, telling it that she'll interface with it and fix it. This seems to calm it down, and she promises it she will, even as she powers it down. As they relax from the situation, she outlines the plan: Take it back to the Club and report that they killed the murderer. They note that it was killing people to try to make itself whole, and discuss Biotects further.

Back at the club, Asarar continues working on the Biotect, which had been made from a hodgepodge of different parts from different kinds of Biotects, and filled with bits of human skin and organs. She orders synthetic skin and puts things away with a certain flare in her eyes, reporting to Otto about how the work is going.

Verse 2, S.2: Session 29: Rhythm Games the First

5.13.5990 CE
Lucianna offers up a mission to the team. A sort of heist, planning to steal a valueable piece of tech from a Middle Class business owner. Luci explains that the guy is into some dirty dealings and the tech itself is actually property of another company, recently stolen. Luci's motivation is simple: Revenge, the guard killed during the robbery was an old acquaintance of hers. She and Kira decide upon a classic party crash routine, sneak into the party as guests, take what they want and leave.

Asarar provides support while Max accompanies Luci as her date. The group heads to the Middle Class area where Riki shows up, offering them snacks. Luci and Kira send Riki back home, and she wanders off on her own to cover an epic journey, no one actually knowing if she knows the way back. The three enter, easily passing through a bouncer who lets them in on account of the slinky dresses the girls have chosen. After they're in, Max and Luci make themselves conspicuous while Kira heads out onto the dance floor to attract attention. She ends up attracting Ricardo, the bent businessman in question. She ropes him in seductively and begins to follow his lead as he takes her to the VIP lounge.

Luci and Max follow, and Asarar, seeing her woman getting picked up via the cams makes her own way into the party. Who is watching the monitors becomes a mystery as she makes her own way up. Kira works on seducing Ricardo while working at getting his sensor key away from him for the others. After distracting it away from him and into her wine glass, she leads Ricardo away and the others have their chance to grab the key and get into the office where the vault is located.

In the office, they find the vault open and the body of Ricardo slumped over the desk, head bleeding. Unsure if he's alive or not, the group has to make decisions. Cautioned that it might be used against her, Luci orders them to grab the tech itself only to find it's gone, replaced by a note and a strange pair of 3D glasses. Someone called Thievius claims the theft and Asarar warns Kira that she's currently distracting a double.

Kira manages to snag some skin samples off the possible fake Ricardo to determine if they're dealing with a disguised human or a shape shifting Ske'ra. The others meanwhile begin to make thier way out, Luci snagging the glasses and leaving something in the room she claims to be "revenge". After they leave and get to the van, Kira joins them and secures her samples. They drive off, accepting a bust for the night, leaving Luci to ponder whether she should track down the theiving thief.
