Session 13: The Planet of Magic
Location: PAX
Taiga sits there as the club members come in and and reveals to them that she has been asked to deliver a package shaped like a grail to the Maka Homeworld, much to the interest of those in the club. As Sabrina muses on returning to the planet she was born, since her parents crashed onto Maka and she was born on it due to that, the other two Makas, Nicolette and Sparkling, talk about the grail and going back to the homeworld for the first time. Celeste muses on it being the Holy Grail and seems awed by the idea of it, apparantly it being something the Templars really would like to have in their hands, while Kaori notes that sounds easy enough. While Ren haggles Kaori into coming along, Taiga pushes the assignment onto Thena due to having a bad experience with Makas and their strange world in the past. As the team nears the ship that will take them, they encounter Zayne holding her toddler, Sunny, asking to come along to show the world to Sunny. Charlotte and Zayne immediately hit it off as Zayne makes some comments disparging Charlotte's Dark One's nature and her becoming one, while the Makas feel a little wary around her.
After settling matters and taking off through space toward the Maka Homeworld, Zayne soon talks to Sparkling Justice, asking her about what she plans to do in the future once she loses her power. When the Maka admits she hasn't thought about what she will do after losing her power, Zayne gives a hallow smile and notes that it is good she has a pure heart and should do all the good she can while she is able to do it, before sitting back down and as the team talks about what their future goals are, Charlotte joking about taking over the PAX, a sore spot for Jaime, Adeline notes some of their comments are creepier than Zayne. As they discuss Lenneth and Jaime's situation with the PAX, leading to Celeste to admit she feels sorry for Lenneth and wanting to do something for her, they arrive at the Maka Homeworld. They find an Earth like planet, but once they land they notice a lot of Japanese anime tropes almost immediately. Zayne hands Sunny over to Kaori, strangely, and asks her to take Sunny around the planet on their journey to deliver the package.
The team decides to head to the leader of the Maka world to drop off the grail shaped package, so they brave the various cliches of the planet to do so with Sabrina as a guide. Charlotte shapeshifters into a Maka like form, getting nudged by Nicolette and the other two Makas, while the others wear various clothes to blend into the anime culture as they set out. As Sabrina looks for the quickest way to their destination, they stop at a shop as Nicolette looks into her hat and pulls out a fat, slobbish rabbit from her hat that seems to be her Maka familiar, however it hops away to a bar with a glare. Before boarding the train to Nio Tokiwo, the capital, the group spends some time in the store and buy some things - even Adeline decides to get a Sparkling like action figure to tease the Maka with later. After they finish they take the high speed train to the capital and they discuss Tokiwo Tower, with all deciding they'd like to see it later.
They reach an oldfashioned part of the city that looks tradtionally Japanese and Jaime comments that she needs to bring Erevis here; Ren jokes that maybe there was a Mirror Universe Erevis and she created this place due to her love of Japanese things, leading to some in the group to seriously consider it. While Kaori grumbles the last time they were here, the team accused her of creating this place, Nicolette just freaks out and mumbles complex theories. The team arrives at a Japanese manor where a magical girl named Shidou Ichiko greets them and Sabrina holds up the grail like package; being ushered inside, they are brought before Emperor Utagawa. Sabrina bows her head and opens the package, revealing a grail that looks much like the one in Sailor Moon, leading to the Maka to exclaim it to be the Holy Grail and Celeste seems to be in complete awe at witnessing it, despite it's appearance. While the Emperor explains that the grail belonged to one of their warriors long ago, it will one day bring a new power to someone else when the time is right. Even Sunny reaches for it and coos a little, as if fascinated by it.
While they try to offer the team money, Sabrina tries to refuse it while Celeste herself notes just witnessing it was enough for her. Sabrina notes that the only reward they need is for Nicolette and Sparkling to know more about their people and to be trained a little more in the way of being a Maka while they are there when suddenly a crisis happens and Daimon attack the city. The group decides to help out and head back to the place where the shop and bar was located, deciding to pull in and help fight the most strange enemies they have ever encountered, ranging from ovens, to fridges, and other strange things. Plus they seem to be after Nicolette's bunny mentor, trying to devour him. Even Zayne shows up to aid them and when they finish off the small fry with the other Maka like Ichiko, the main Daimon shows up, a Yamazaki 12-year whiskey. After a big battle with it, they manage to break it with a combo attack on it from Sabrina and Noire leaves it open to Nicolette to destroy it. A scrap of paper lands and Sparkling picks it up, seeing a girl who looks a lot like Sparkling holding the Holy Grail on the paper. Zayne takes Sunny from Kaori and leaves with her before the Maka hunt her down.
Sabrina takes them to see Tokiwo Tower while Nicolette explains that her familiar is more of a deadbeat uncle and the team notes how similar to Tokyo Tower it is, outside it being blue. After admiring it, Sabrina decides to take them back to her home when she used to live here, since the group has decided to stay here for a few days, especially since Zayne has left the planet with their ship. They find a decent sized house with magical brooms keeping the place clean. As they settle in, they all see a desk and a rather typical Maka house and get ready to relax and have fun.
Location: PAX
Sabrina throws a birthday party for Sparkling Justice and everyone enjoys the moment with some cake and relaxation while Taiga watches them impatiently. After they finish their celebrations, Taiga introduces Lenneth - who has come to attend the meeting with a request. After Lenneth clears the board of Angela's nonsense, she goes into the group's desire to get more information on various groups and their enemies, including the Empress and they hope maybe going into other realities might help with that since they formed due to major variations in reality, with that reality taking a left turn instead of a right one. After lecturing the group on how the multiverse once existed long ago and Centerpoint destroyed it, including their allies in Wind's Classic Reality, the Tareh Reality, and the Alternate Reality, as well as thousands of realities, they were told the multiverse was rebuilding itself based on their actions now by Fate. After getting their things in order, they go to Asteroid C where they meet up with Hess and Kitty and Taiga puts together the reality device the team once used long ago as Strikers.
The first reality they visit, the group finds the Earth is completely flooded and they are dumped into the ocean, being forced to drift until Kitty and Hess pull out rafts for the team to get onto. While Lenneth talks to them through wrist watches that can keep in touch and pull them back in an emergency, Noire, Jaime. and Charlotte shift their clothing to bikinis to handle being wet while Ren shivers on Charlotte's head and Taiga looks miserible. Lenneth informs them what information she can find on this reality and it looks like when handling the Luna incident, Sparkling used too much power and utterly smashed it, causing severe weather damage to the Earth; as they discuss it, they notice a PAX shuttle in the area and after debating if they should reach out to it, Thena psionically reaches out and gets the attention of the pilot, who turns out to be an alternate Iceheart.
After Iceheart expresses surprise at seeing Nicolette among their group, she also plays coy at seeing many of them in the ocean before agreeing to take them to the PAX. The PAX is more military like, with all the defenses and weapons activated, and as they arrive they are greeted by the Empress with her armored followered and an alternate Jaime; admitting that she contacted the Empress ahead of them since one of them was dead and that many of them should be on the PAX or on Geyze, but the scanners did not ping them as shapeshifters, leaders Jaime to confess who they are and where they came from, much go the team's chargin. It seems like maybe this reality does not have a Kaori - maybe - as the Empress makes a note to look into her after Kaori introduces herself while Taiga and Kitty plot to gag Jaime. The Alternate Empress goes onto inform them that after destroying Luna, Sparkling turned into a makai due to her grief of killing so many people, a powerful one at that, and went on to kill Nicolette and Sabrina; it appears this reality has no Serpent problem, perhaps due to that if the Serpent won in this reality, all the realities would fall, but it is a reality where makai are the main threat as Sparkling leads her dark forces along with the Dark Ones.
As the team processes this information and make note to becareful to not let Sparkling fall into despair, they try to get some information out of the Empress. She admits that originally she wanted to try to whip Erevis into shape by taking the PAX and make her embrace her Progenitor side and throw off her weaknesses. While Lenneth sounds angry off the comm, Hess notes it is almost anime logic. After they finish talking, they move onto the next reality which seems normal enough, though there is a somewhat oppressive atmosphere in the air as if something happened, or barely avoided an apocalypse. While Kaori eyes Nicolette and wonders about Maka, Taiga checks out the holonet and looks shocked to learn that this reality does not have Yggdrasil, which means that Kaori failed to bring the Mirror Universe over to the Prime Universe in the events of Session 200/100 (300).
While the team debates what it could mean that Kaori wouldn't step up and do what she did in the Prime Universe, Taiga looks up and sees that theer is indeed a Kaori - a Kaori Giblin. They head along and find a mansion that is bigger than Cheryl or Kitty's and after knocking on the door, they meet an Alternate Kaori who seems super happy and chipper with a smile that practically blinds them, much to Ren's surprise. Not seeming that surprised to see another her or people she might know, the alternate Kaori leads them inside and after being asked about the Magic Robot Army, which apparently is a problem here, she seems to have no idea what they mean by reality powers, seemingly never having gotten them. After calling to her Kitty to join them, a male Kitty joins them, leading to Taiga having a mental moment as she tries to piece together how a diverging reality from their's could lead to a male Kitty when it should be a reality from major moments, leading to the Alt Kitty and Kaori to eye them; during all this Nicolette notes she could do a reality tour, since so far she hasn't appeared all that much. While Kitty stares at her handsome Hess version, Hess looks shocked at it all. After saying their goodbyes, the team quickly exits.
Arriving at yet a third reality, they appear on a PAX finally and Noire notes they need to find information first, while many seem relieved to be on their home turf. While Hess and Kaori recover from their encounter of the last reality, Kaori mumbling about how happy her counterpart seemed, Taiga uses the holonet to learn that this reality's problem is VI, being led by someone who has managed to unite the broken pieces of VI under them and making it a force to be feared again. The Empress of this reality has even resorted to hiring the Maka to aid her in combating it, leading to Nicolette and Sparkling being on the ship as guards. They come across Alternate Sparkling, Nicolette, Sabrina, and Adeline in the PAX uniforms, commanding respects, and when they see their counter parts, especially Charlotte, Alternate Adeline freaks out on the team - mainly Charlotte. When the Alternate Adeline tries to take down Charlotte for questioning, Noire and Ren stand in her way, preventing her from doing so, claiming she is a war criminal and sees that Noire is finally showing her true colors.
After they reveal who they are and where they came from, the Alternate Adeline finds it rich, leading their Jaime aside and treating her like she is some docile Jaime like she used to be before almost revealing Charlotte's true last name before Ren coughs over her. She agrees to reveal some infromation about this reality, in exchange for information about their's, but Charlotte panics at the idea for some reason and tries to shut it down, leading to even Noire being suspicious about Charlotte. Taiga studies Charlotte and agrees for the team to leave, so they all use their buttons to exit and go back home, much to Charlotte's relief and Ren's. After they are gone, the Alt Adeline finds it suspicious and vows to try to find this reality one day. Back on the PAX, the team meets in the club room to go over the information they gathered and Ren vows to protect Charlotte while Taiga promises to dismantle the device for the time being so no evil doer can use it. Taiga asks Kaori and Hess how they are holding up and the two note they have a lot to talk about as well, so Taiga dismisses the club and they all exit the room.
Session 15: House of Zhenmei (1)
Location: Geyze
The club meets on Geyze to fill a request about finding a rare fruit for them while they prepare something, leading some to believe it is from Sylph despite it being from "The Mysterious Flying Wind". After the group gathers, with Noire deadpanning at Thena's entrance, Nicolette notes that they have to somehow find a fruit based on a sketch and Taiga says they do have a location to check out: the Daemon Realm. While Thena glitters Noire up, Jaime takes them to the Daemon Capital with her shadow port ability using her staff, leading Taiga, Thena, Nicolette, Kaori, Jaime, Erevis, Noire, Id, Si, Charlotte, and Ceilidh to arrive at a busy market. While they are checking it out, they encounter Rain who helps direct them to Shade's old grotto location to find it, guarded by wolfbeast/wolf fauna. As they talk to Rain, it is clear Ceilidh is interested in the ancient vampire, as she asks her various questions even as she marks the map for the group.
Jaime summons Nocturne from her shadows, who appears as a dark copy of Jaime at first which makes Charlotte jealous as she is unable to do that even as a Dark One, until Nocturne reveals herself. After Nocturne has Charlotte bow to her in respect, she draws everyone into her shadows and takes them to the location indicated. Nicolette wonders about Jaime keeping a siprit in her shadows, but Nicolette indicates she is only in Jaime's shadow 1 out of 5 times when she talks to it. After some back and forth teasing from Jaime, Nocturne stuffs her into her own shadow and ditches her from the group, so they all continue as Rain explains about the fruit. Supposedly the fruit makes the person live a longer life, make them more beautiful, smarter, and so on.
Kyouki appears in her Spirit/Sprite form, so Erevis puts her on her head, as they arrive at the fruit and see a wolf werebeast protecting the fruit as well as Jaime. Their voices though rose the wolf girl that looks a lot like Asha, most likely of the same tribe or a similiar tribe; Rain notes that her language seems to be an ancient form of the one Asha's tribe uses, but will try to translate while Jaime talks to her, even as Ren comes out of Charlotte's breasts and gets onto her head. Rain informs them she is protecting the fruit from all of them due to fruit thieves and was tasked by Shade long ago. Jaime summons Gnome, along with Terra, to try to use Terra's fruit duplication powers, but it fails, which makes Terra do a shrill cry. Nocturne manages to get them one fruit to take for the group, so while Terra offers an apple - the wolf girl goes for it, it misses somehow (and still getting the apple) and engulfs Ceilidh's hand instead. Noire uses the distraction to get the fruit while everyone is panicked over Ceilidh, chewing on the apple in her hand. As Terra tries her growing thing and dark vines and dark fruit grows, making the place more thick with dark plant life, the group teleports out and Ceilidh checks her hand, seeing it was not bitten.
The group meets up with Sylph and gives her the fruit on one condition - that she saves the seeds. Agreeing to the condition, Sylph invites them to her place where they smell food and see Gale as well Neekito helping with a celebration of sorts for Ellie. Ellie's family throws a surprise birthday for her and the fruit was used for a fruit pie for her, with Sylph and Neekito. It looks like Sylph wanted to make her the food herself, under Neekito's supervision. As well as Sylph making Ellie a Ellie a little statue of herself, as well as tiny figurines for the group. After everyone takes some cake and a figurine, they head on out back to the club.
Location: PAX
As they arrive back on the ship, they see that Lenneth has begun her counter attack on the Empress trying to inform the PAX public that she is the true PAX Empress and never stepped down, but what's more the false Empress Erevis from another turn has not made any moves to stop her. Jaime and Charlotte seem to both think Lenneth lack subtlety and Taiga points out that might be the point as they enter the club room. As they discuss the situation the Empress enters the room, turning all the eyes to her as she approaches Jaime, causing Erevis to tense up at the person who usurped her ship and stole her identity. There is a clear difference between the two as the Empress holds herself much like Erevis once did - arrogantly, but confidently, while Erevis has a more peaceful slouch these days and has a white streak of age in her hair while the Empress has no sign of age due to her Progenitor power. Addressing Jaime, she brings up a matter to Jaime about the Patheon that Jaime brought up to her in the meetings Jaime has been having with her secretly and how Jaime has learned how to damage herself using hyperspace, and notes she will consider it, but Jaime will need to join her full time since it is a full time commitment, even sparing a glance at Thena.
After the Empress leaves with Syiean, Jaime argues her case about her idea of the Patheon, claiming that their greatest weakness was a single seat that the Empress proved could be easily usurped. Erevis counters that the false Empress used the PAX's systems to the fullest while they were gone and stole the ship. Erevis seems vemently opposed to Jaime's plan and that Jaime is working with the Empress so closely and when Jaime states she believes that Erevis would have come up with this idea given time, she leaves the room. Charotte asks to keep Lenneth from causing trouble and Jaime notes it's to keep the entire family causing trouble, perhaps worried about a civil war for the throne once they get the PAX back.
Taiga points out that Lenneth is the true leader, not Erevis, unless Jaime wants Erevis to step up and take the throne again. Taiga eventually notes why doesn't she just talk to some of the ambassadors for their thoughts so Jaime does so and goes to see Ariel. As they split up, Taiga goes her own way, giving Si something to distract her, causing Ren and Charlotte to debate who to follow during all this. Kyouki follows Jaime and Thena to the Ambassador Tower, while Charlotte and Ren follow Taiga. Taiga returns to Geyze and seems to examine the teleporters for some reason, placing something on it and checking logs of people who used it during a certain period of time. Meanwhile Ariel listens to Jaime go over her plans and with Vyssa beside her. Ariel points out various flaws in Jaime's plan, such as the Patheon outvoting the main leader or overthrowing them, and more, while Vyssa interjects her own ideas. After Taiga leaves, Charlotte examines and sees Taiga was checking the time period around the Ancient Piece events on Geyze for some reason, leaving the two wondering why Taiga was interested in that. And Jaime and Thena leave wondering about the idea of the Patheon, still believing it, while Ariel and Vyssa give them idea to think about.
Session 16: The Makai and Nicolette
Location: PAX
As the group gets into the room, Sabrina even trying to mimic Nicolette's magic tricks - poorly, as Nicolette watches from the shadows, Shion sells food to the group to make some money while Taiga informs them of a situation on Kumen's lower levels about magic going on. As the group notes that it is unusual for them to have magic related cases, Nicolette agrees that it was hard to even do stage magic there. After the team heads there, they are checked by the new Kumen security for their powers and weapons, giving stamps for what they have on them, but then allowed to continue without being bothered. It looks like Kumen now has been organized to have teleporters to the lower levels as well as elevators to go up and down, as well as enviromental changes like little ponds and gardens on the various levels as they ride the elevator down, noting how they have reflectors to allow sunlight to go down below as well as artifical sunlight. And it looks like that the lower level is trying to work and offer money to innovate and work on the slums and projects to those living there that are interested in doing so.
While the team admires the work being done on the lower levels, Taiga leads them to the spot and those with magical abilities can feel the air being wrong while the others see the ground has been liquidfied for a time, then made solid, and people seem to be half buried and killed, while some were liquified as well when it happened. The buildings having sunk into the street and had the same thing happen, too; who knows how many buildings were completely liquidified. Taiga informs the team that witnesses heard words being chanted when the incident occurred. Sparkling and Nicolette investigate with their powers while Sabrina checks the area out as well, the others search the area - Ceilidh and Taiga look for clues while Ren yips and alerts the team that they are being spied on. While Jaime finds a kid and interrogates them, getting fed up being called old and other names, threatening to dunk him in the water and using her powers to punish him, she gets some clues out of him that a woman did the deed and had purpelish black hair. Sparkling manages to find a Makai symbol with her abilities with Sabrina, who identifies it is an ancient Makai symbol, calling it old fashioned when you want to target someone, and the team finds a coin within the symbol.
Sabrina informs them that you start small and then grow in scope as you target with this type of symbol magic, narrowing in on the person. They debate who the coin could belong to as they move toward the next location - the cursed orphangage they encountered before when they were here last time. It is surrounded by fog and there is howls inside when dogs and Dog Fauna being affected inside it, causing them to attack people who come near it. Taiga and Ren begin to show symptons of being under the fog's curse so Noire uses her tentacles to throw them away from the area right before Taiga can bite Ceildih's throat when she checks on her. As the Dog Fauna attack the group, Nicolette uses her magic to make a shield to seperate them from the team while Charlotte vows vengence on the Makai who did this as Thena puts some to sleep and Noire whaps the others.
As they search the fog, Sparkling sees the Makai for a brief moment, but also sees the symbol so she focuses on that, getting rid of that and discovers a playing card. As the area returns to the normal, the examine the playing card they wonder if the Makai is targetting Nicolette. Nicolette seems baffled while they would hold a grudge against her, but Noire seems to think there may be a chance that they see her as trying to replace her and Sabrina points out that most Makai just hate for the sake of hating and are not like Zayne. As they arrive on the top level they run into Ymir and they inform her of what has happened, so she agrees to help by sending her whatever files she can get her hands on. After giving them her number, she returns to her Macross HQ. During all this, the team hasn't noticed that the Makai has stolen a hair from Sparkling.
Back at the club room, Taiga goes through the files they were given and points at a Nicolette file and the purple haired girl - both in opposite orphanages, but the latter went to the cursed one. While Nicolette notes she hoped she wasn't robbed oddly, Taiga reads her name as Harumi Mizaka and that she was trying to get into a certain performance arts contest to get out of the slums. Nicolette denied entering such a thing and that she was just a street performer and trying whatever was necessary to keep herself afloat. The team decides maybe the Makai felt betrayed that a mere person like Nicolette got out of the slums and became a famous Maka, while she couldn't get out, especially if the two did know each other somehow. Taiga announces she set up a series of code words related to the makai and got a hit on Luna, specifically at the spot Sparkling punched the moon.
Location: Luna
The team arrives at the moon and finds it crackling with dark magical energy and the moon's atmosphere, being done by EarthGov, is being reverted to no atmosphere and the moon looks like it's cracking. And worse of all, down in the center of the crater is what looks like a dead rabbit
tied up with hair. Si declares that to be raclsim and Sparkling is outraged at the sight of it, while Nicolette wonders how much malice they have inside them. As Sparkling moves to deal with the signal, it turns into a Daimon that looks like it is based on the rabbit, making Si even more angry, but they destroy it as it gives off a rabbit scream. They get rid of the signal and things return to normal, with Taiga promising to look into this for Nicolette and Sparkling. As they all leave, inside the ravine where Tsukiyomi's body has been laid to rest to gather energy to be restored, her eye lid twitches slightly.
Location: Geyze
While Sparkling, Sabrina, and Nicolette walk along the Academy and discuss things together like friends, they do not notice a purple haired "student" among the crowd, eyeing Nicolette hatefully as she holds a magician's hat. Then she turns and fades into the crowd with it.
Session 17: The Alighieri Files (Tie In)
Location: PAX
While the two groups get their things in order following the events of Session 469. Taiga holds an emergency club meeting where Ren, Charlotte, Jaime, Adeline, Thena, and Si gather together and Taiga notices that Si and Ren have new streaks in their hair lately and Taiga learns that Ren used her minute reality power to change her DNA to become more in lined with Geyze Dragoons - how Si managed it is unknown. Taiga leads the group to Aya's room on the PAX where a large crowd has gathered, stating that Ao and Leyeah has requested their help; the crowd seems to have become fanatics over Aya, writing songs and poems about her and Jaime's powers to entice mean and women doesn't work on them as she tries to get them to move away from the door. The group together has to use their combined glaring to clear space and get inside and speak with Aya, Fiona, and Evette.
After they question Aya, Jaime incorrectly thinking Aya has phermone powers - but it turns out it is her mother who has that power, Eve - they learn that yesterday, around the time Lana did her spell with the ashes, Aya was struck over by something and fell to her knees, feeling strange. Fiona pipes up that they have been having trouble with stalkers and Aya has noted she has been having people become infatuated with her, like she has been lit up with a beacon of attention. Fiona and Evette show that they have been trying to discredit Dawn to try to win over Aya, showing strange proof that about art thieves on Dawn's side of the family. The team wonders if the Hex spell from the ashes purposely targetted Aya or if it was a rebound from targetting Chad due to being related to him. Since they have no magic users on their team, since none came to join the club meeting, they decide to go down to Geyze to look for some help, and Jaime uses her staff to take them.
Location: The Academy
As Taiga lets Jaime lead the way to the manor for help, Adeline wonders if any of them will fall under the Aya Spell, but Jaime and Charlotte seem to think that is unlikely, one due to bonds and one not caring, Charlotte seeming to be annoyed by the whole situation with Aya. While the team travels to the manor to get help, Nocturne rises from the shadow and studies Aya, apparently becoming infactuated with her due to the hex and even Gwen glances her way, but one never learns if the hex works on him due to Talia nipping her. Talia calls Lana up out of the basement and Nicolette arrives at the same time, so both of them question Aya about her situation. Lana examines Aya down in the basement and Nicolette notes her money is on a badly made hex that hit Aya on accident while going for it's real target. They decide to let Ceilidh later to get some samples to compare and use to make sure the rest of the family is okay against the hex while Lana tries to get rid of the hex, but it tries to fight back; all the mages combine their power and soon banish it away.
Alita notes that until the spell on Chad is purged it might return, but for now she should be okay. Lana promises to make a ward to wear in the meantime. While Talia and Charlotte goes at it over Talia wanting the ward to help her rule the planet, reminding her of Thena, who jokes she is small time and that she wants the universe, Taiga has Thena take Aya back to the PAX in the meantime until the ward is done. After they are done, Taiga goes over the stuff she was looking during the magic stuff, having been looking into the information on the art thieves and that it is still going on, wanting to go after them since it looks fun. Since Chelsea is not around, Taiga decides to get Bonnie and that she knows someone who is into hero stuff that might join them; Nicolette decides to join since she is into quick finger stuff as well and the group plans to look into this Alighieri and art stuff.
Location: Mega City
The team arrives outside a museum at night time where they set up surveilience, joined by Noire, Bonnie, and Lunar Girl. While some think they are here to do a heist themselves, Taiga protests that they are there to stop one. After a bit they see someone entering the museum, so the team heads to the roof themselves. Nicolette suggests they just call security once they arrive on the roof and see the figure is inside already near the art exhibit doing something, but Charlotte and Lunar Girl protest that is boring and not heroic. But before they can do that they are attacked by a masked blonde girl that seems to have a moveset much like Evette, using trick shots like Chad and able to calculate things like him. As they battle the group, using their powers, Taiga alerts the guards inside as the Dawn look alike gets outside without stealing inside, leaving the group wondering what is going on.
Both of the art thieves run for it and try to escape, but the team uses their power to trip them up. Right as the guards bust out onto the roof and demand everyone freeze, the frozen art thieves, due to the magic by Nicolette and Noire's tendrils, stomps his foot to unleash a smoke cloud and pushes his blonde partner over the edge and somehow manages to go over himself, making the guards suspect the team. However, Lunar Girl and Noire follows after them while the rest of the team surrenders and explains the situation; Lunar Gir lands on Dawn as Noire's tendrils tandles the Dawn look alike Art Thief, KOing him and they unmask him to find that it was indeed Dawn. While inside the rest see that Dawn was just setting up to have the art be revealed as fake art that the museum was purposely showing off as the real thing, while on the side taking a few during the heist after ruining their reputations.
Leaving the group with mixed emotions, they return to the club after Bonnie fletches something from the gift shop for Chelsea. There they find the spell on Aya has been reduced to nearly nothing and learn that Aya's family is running low on money due to some things - while they are still okay due to things by Aya and help from others, they are not what they used to be. As they muse on it, Evette spies on them from the hallway with a mark on the hallway, indicating she was the other art thief and Aya moves to get Dawn out of jail on bail.
Session 18: The Children of John

Lunar Girl comes across what appears to be a crime in progress and drops down from the rooftops to intervene, spotting a man holding a purse of a woman who is screaming for help as he points a gun at her. After being distracted by Lunar Girl and the woman running off with her purse, the trench coat wearing man reveals himself to be a P.I and notes when she's older that she can work for him as he hands her his card, monologing in his head like someone out of a noir movie as he leaves.

PAX - The Club
Taiga holds another club meeting and all the hijnks that come with it, such as Si introducing Delta Cola, Ren eating a lot more food lately, Gator nonsense, and Kaori being sleepy as Taiga goes over the cases on the docket like a magical mugger stealing things from banks when Locket and Michiru enter the room; Locket shows them the Holonet where police are suspecting a local superhero of murdering a private investigator and insists they have to look into it due to the hero being Lunar Girl. After a lot of pushing and prodding of the team, as well as evil clone jokes due to Lunar Girl being an alternate version of Michiru, though no one knows what reality she is from yet. The team eventually makes their way down to the P.I's office by a makeshift beach, since Mega City is nowhere near a beach, and meet up with Lunar Girl who has been let out on bail, wearing a tracker to keep tabs on her since she is suspected of murder.
The group decides to leave Lunar outside the office, since the tracker might alert the police that she is too close to the crime scene, and a few of them go inside the office on the second floor to try to find clues to clear her name. It looks like the fact the P.I's card was on Locket as well as one of the gloves that Lunar wears and a piece of her cape. Locket, Michiru, stay with Lunar while Taiga, Tabetha, Noire, Hess, Kaori, and Charlotte investigate the office as Taiga reads off what all the police found tying the murder to Lunar, so Charlotte goes to examine Lunar's cape to see if it's been torn. Taiga also points out the murder weapon was a knife which doesn't fit the John Family M.O, since they're always using their fists. As the team continues to gather evidence, Charlotte finds that it looks like someone cut Lunar's cape, perhaps to frame her since it looks cut too smoothly. After they are done and Lunar Girl points them to a name on the address list of the P.I that does not match the offical police data and so on, the woman who's purse the P.I tried to take the previous night, the team takes the Tiger Bus over to her place.
They find a limo prepared to leave at the address for the woman, so after Durt EMPs it and forces them to get another ready, Tabetha and Charlotte read the woman's mind in the broken limo while she waits; it appears to be a decoy that is being paid by the real target to make it look like she has left. Taiga leads some of the team up to the room while the others hang out by the Tiger Bus; once in the room, either through Hess' ripples or Locket opening the door, they find inside what appears to be an amateur assassin's tools and make up all over the place. As they gather clues about her target and the location, the others make requests from Taiga A.I and Taiga about their own A.I's based on their personalities, making Taiga A.I huff since so far there is only a Kitty A.I. Learning that she plans to take out someone important at a fancy dinner, they head off to it.
Once they are at the dinner and show their IDs to get inside, the team splits off to try to find the assassin before she takes out her target. John joins them at the dinner, wearing his best noir outfit, Fate letting him come back to help out Lunar Girl clear her name it seems, as the man does his speech to the dinner crowd about technology and changing the world. They spot a suspicious server following the man as he goes to the bathroom, where the confrontation begins - Locket, Charlotte, and Noire stop the woman from killing the target and a quickly subdue her while John greets his children and Tabetha. Back at the club, Taiga asks again what the point of all this was to the club as the holovid shows that the Lunar Girl got a key to the city as well as those with her. John notes he has been allowed to spend a day with the family as the club is dismissed, heading out with them.
